I just want to enjoy the skin man...
-
It's not that simple.
For one, as others have stated already, the devs told us that legacy cosmetics (yellow glow) are not coming back.
However, let's play with your idea a bit. Releasing legacy as a P100 reward would mean, that every character would need a legacy skin to make it fair. This is more complicated than it seems regarding how strikt some license holders are (nightmare on elm street).
I think introducing a character specific badge or banner as a P100 reward would be cool enough.

We destroyed. The end. Oink Oink :D
Absolutely. We crushed them all no exeptions.
(just imagine the terror we would spread if we could team up as Piggy and Sadako. The kill rates would be legendary. The mmr astronomically high.)

Honestly? I cant get enough of 2v8 ^🐽^
The more, the better. -

the other killer would be unfun because you cannot do anything the loops. i wouldn't play them. you would need add-on's 5 hatcher iri head or instant saw billy to make them playable.
I think people could manage. It depends on how far we go back i think.

- Bush cosmetic for all Survivors. Claudette gets a special morphing bush that changes to match the maps environment. On indoor maps it’ll change into a barrel or cardboard box.
- Brand New game engine. It’s desperately needed. Anti-cheat/hacking code needs to be written into the source code. Code to allow for a wider range of more interesting and unique Killer powers needs to be built in as well. Getting tired of just combining old stuff into new Killers.
- More interactive maps. Ladders, Ziplines, icy floors with slip and slide physics, quick sand, deep water (with new swimming annimations) and whatever else they can come up with to make things more interesting and freshz.
- Customization overhaul. I know it’s not a big deal for a lot of people but one thing I love about videogames is being able to make my Characters Pretty and Unique. Never been a fan of the current cosmetic sets that limit customization. I want models updated with more customization slots so I can pick out hairstyles, glasses, necklaces, gloves, shirts, coats/capes, pants, shoes, backpack, and even undies. With more stand alone cosmetics that I could mix and match between Survivors.
- Updated Trapper model with more polygons that looks exactly like his Hooked On You counterpart with the addition of his Diamond encrusted cosmetic 👁️👄👁️.
- More test weekends like they did with the no Blood-lust weekend so we can try out new game mechanics. Would be nice to see how reducing bleed out by 50% would be. Or maybe unhooked Survivors remain ghosts for 30 seconds like @Reinami suggests when talking about anti tunnel. Game really needs to update the core mechanics for both sides.
- Bedsheet Ghost cosmetic for Myers from the first movie.
- Shirtless Carlos.
- Power Rangers Chapter
- Naruto Cosmetic Chapter or any Anime that will give Claudette a full Ninja set. I’d even be fine with the Nina costumes from the First Power Rangers movie.
- Ryuuk cosmetic for Wraith
- Rocket Launcher iridescent add-on for NemoDaddy
- Shirtless Wesker
- Sunglasses cosmetic for all Killers
- Nurse Cosmetic for Freddy
- Dbd-Kart mode like Mortal Kombat did with Motor Kombat.
- Updated Character Models to make Moris look like Mortal Kombat Fatalities. A lot of the current animations look like something out of a PS2 game at best.
- Bring back the aesthetic of the old maps along with the offerings that made them darker.
Mighty-morphin-power-bushes
- Bush cosmetic for all Survivors. Claudette gets a special morphing bush that changes to match the maps environment. On indoor maps it’ll change into a barrel or cardboard box.
-
Simple:
An operation health update.
One patch, where no new content comes out but the devs take some time to clean house. Dbd desperately needs it.
-
Sadako 1.0 Was harder to play because she had less tools at her disposal (if you didn't use ring drawing and iri tape)
I'd whish they'd changed her addons more. Then we would have actually interesting ones and not just 5 viable ones.
Old iri tape was a hindrance to her overall kit due to its strength. Ring drawing was straight up unhealthy. Both had to change. As someone that has maimed this killer since she came out, I'm happy to never see these two addons return to their former versions.
Sadako right now needs some tweaks still, but is undeniably better than 1.0 and healthier than 2.0.
I enjoy playing her.
In regard to chucky: I still don't understand why window scamper had to be removed when the pallet one was the only problem. I'd also whish for the flicks to make a return.

Then the game will never be as balanced as people want it to be
Which might be good. Just look at where the need for balancing has led us. Sometimes a bit if chaos is ok. Dbd is not a competetive e-sports game. It was never designed to be one and the amount of rules that people push on top of it just to force it into that role shows.
Removing soloq would be the first step of dbds march into the grave. We want this game to succeed. Not to die out.

Hey! Leave my shattered hope alone.

Something about comp becoming the new rave. Or influx of new players from IP's coming in, could be bringing less desireable types. All kinds of reasons but hard to pin one or two down.
But the comp scene seems to have taken off with people and when streamers are doing this, there will be sheep that follow and because their streamer said so, its law. This is my best guess.
I guess we wait and see.
I'm just kinda done with people having to "find new ways because it's suddenly necessary".
It wasn't necessary years ago and it isn't necessary now.

After what I've witnessed over the last couple of months, I believe a good hand of people actually don't care if they play against bots.
The only thing they seem to care about is seeing that magical mmr number go up and the 3-4k on the ending screen.
Bot or player, what does it matter to them. Their sacrifice will make them go closer to the mystical top mmr.

Shoulder the Burden bub
Slugging has been better than hooking for months now, it just took shoulder the burden to get it into peoples minds that its not worth going for hooks anymore
Also Choy and Tru3 are slugging gamers now And Otz has said multiple times recently that slugging seems to be better The nhooking
Sorry, that doesn't add up. That one perk, that almost nobody uses has drastically changed the way you play? Have you played at the time, when perks like and bt and ds where in their prime and actually punished you hard for hooking? I assume no, because otherwise your opinion would be similar to mine. People are greatly exaggerating if you ask me.
Content creators are not my compass that have to tell me how to play. I have my own head to think and decide. I hope most people do.

Survivors get nasty perks from being hooked, and you generally waste about like 70-100 seconds each game picking up and carrying survivors to hooks
Gen defence and regression is the worst it's even been and its only going to get worse
BHVR has confirmed that if enough survivors complain about a killer they'll just gut that killer So people arn't too keen to try and learn new killers anymore
And in general slugging is way more time effective for a killer nowadays and it prolongs the game allowing for more chases
The average game time with hook perks at Top MMR is around 6–8 mins usually and the killer might be around 5-6 hooks and ending with 1-2 kills
Slugging games in my experience end up around 10-15 mins long with way more chases It's not a gurranted killer win but nothing is But in general it's just more fun
The slugging thing is a recent development. Just a month ago, it wasn't that bad.
Most of the aspects you mention, are nothing new.
So again, what changed?
-
Can someone explain to me, what exactly happened?
What changed, that people now feel the need to slug?
I seriously don't get it.
-
Sometimes not knowing something can be a blessing.

@danielmaster87 said:
This is a very simplistic and emotional way to view it. Killers aren't being 'lazy', 'cheap', or 'skilless' by slugging. They're playing smart (playing to win). I can only assume you're playing at a level which doesn't require you to do that. But some of us do play at that level. Yes, it becomes THAT hardcore. Gens done in 5 minutes or less. All 4 run out, with 2 hooks total. Survivors letting themselves get downed just to protect a death hook teammate or to complete a gen. And this is against high level killers, who are powerless to stop it.
We've come to the conclusion that hooking is no longer worth it, because of all the benefits survivors get vs what we get. With Pop, we can knock 8% off a gen or something, with Pain Res another 20%, and then the gens get done away. But with Resurgence survivors can instantly heal off hook, with Deliverance they can unhook themselves, with DS they get a free stun even against non-tunnelers, and they've still got several hooks to go. Why would we want to bother with all that? Playing into all that would be eating out of the survivors' hands. We'd be playing to lose. So we slug, and circumvent all of that. There's no malice, or lack of skill or game knowledge, in doing that.
Who's "we"?
-
Knock out needs a rework.
Simple as is. The more popular the perk becomes the more obvious it's flawed design is.
I still don't get it why this game can't promote fun playstyles. DBD at a higher level promoted the most unfun playstyles ever. Nobody likes to sit on the floor for an uncertain amount of time.

Update?
- Myers
- Twins
- Trapper
Nurse's power is just harmful to the game itself.
The other 3 need some serious looking into. Not just small changes, but something big like Freddy this time.
All other killers either need tweaks, addon passes or number changes.

@danielmaster87 said:
Assuming that's true, they're doing it for a reason. Why hook 3 different survivors and get nothing for it, when you can hook 1 survivor thrice and get a kill for it? Honestly, the game discussion isn't even about hooks anymore, because even that "super efficient" strategy is outdated. No incentive to hook, nobody wants to do it anymore. You're lucky the killer hooked you at all.
I want to hook. I even want to hook 12 times. Don't generalize.

Short answer no.
Old dh for distance was some of the most awful things to play against as a killer. I do not want to go back to the days, where there was a dh-thread literally every day. Sometimes two.
Mft …. no thanks. I like to play m1 killers.
While mft feels a bit underpowered at the moment, dh is in a very good spot right now.

That's terrible suggestion. He is already have strong slowdown by his own kit. And we are giving him strong chase power on this? Hopefully BHVR did not lose their mind.
Pinheads slowdown is strong against very uncoordinated teams, good against ok teams, and almost non-existent against really good teams. His chase badly needs to be looked at, as do some of his addons. Original pain, as mentioned by the others is the one addon that needs to be changed the fastest.
Let's compare Pinhead to Pig. Piggy is undeniably the killer with the strongest build in slowdown in dbd. Pinheads is a lot weaker. Therefore his chase should be much better than hers, right?
On a lot of maps, this sadly isn't the case, and we are talking about the ambush here.
He should easily beat her in chase, due to his weaker slowdown. Therefore his chase should be buffed.
-
There is a problem with sound cocclusion, making flashbangs being dropped silently. This is the primary issue, people have with them and rightfully so. Its awful, getting blinded from something you had no time or clue top react to. Even worse when you are carrying someone.
It has already been posted in the bug report section as far as I know and its a mystery to me, why it hasnt been fixed yet. This is not something new.

Is this an interrogation or something? I don't have to answer your questions, wannabe cop/detective.
You dont have to answer, no. What I want to point towards is, that Sadako is a more strategic killer. She requires to be played and played against with a lot of game sense and strategy. Not many people like to play this way in dbd. I understand that. I, on the other hand, love to play that way. My mains are Pig and Sadako for a good reason.
People enjoy and dislike different things. What you might find awful to play against might be what someone else really enjoys to play against.
I personally smile whenever I see a Tv at the start of the trial and hope that the player knows how to play her well.
Sadako, just like good Piggy offers a different style of gameplay than killers that are generally chase oriented. Thats not something bad. Thats something good. Variety is good.
Edit: if you want clarification, I know an IT specialist very well. Can ask them about the video if you want to.

the map is not free win for survivor nor killer. Onryo's current power design is flawed. 1.0 and 2.0 were superior designs for different reasons. The effort to debate or argue in relationship to this killer is not worth my time with you.

the player isn't complaining about gideon. they're complaining about Midwich Elementary school. your refusing to read anything. Dev will not rework Gideon's. there is not anything functionally wrong with the map.
I read. Thx. Midwich is her second best map. I read your reply and you said: "Midwich is the only two maps where Onryo works properly."
To that I say, that she works on many more maps. You might just play her the wrong way. She generally works great on any indoor map. They tend to be either small or have multiple floors. Both aspects heavily favour condemned. On top of that, the nature of them being indoor maps favours them as well due to her being a stealth killer.
So here is a ranking of her best indoor maps:
- 1) Gideon
- 2) Midwich, Rpd (both)
- 3) Lery's, Hawkins
She also works on many other maps that are generally not too pallet heavy like Wreckers yard.
I said whats awful about Gideon meat plant. Maybe you should consider reading more thouroughly? Gideon meat plant is the single most horribly designed map in dbd. Its either a free win for the killer if their equipped properly, or a free win for the survivors if the killer isnt. As explained earlier, the map makes some killers and perks exponentially stronger. Way stronger than they have any right to be. This makes balancing them really hard.
If you cant see that than I genuinelly dont know what to tell you.
-
I already did, you didnt clarify, that you share their sentiment. Different people like and dislike different aspects you know?
So I take from that reply, that you dislike her fast teleporting that can result in an early mori?
Then let me ask you a different question. What do you want her to be?
-
@BuffDH said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3869752#Comment_3869752
No, I'll keep saying it. Killers that are unfun, oppressive or boring need completely nerfed, not killswitched, nerfed to the ground like they did Skull Merchant then rework them so then playing as the survivor isn't becoming insufferable.
What specifically do you find boring and unfun about her? A killer should be oppressive. Thats literally in their job description.
Edit: if you say: "playing against her on Gideon meat plant". Then thats absolutely valid to find boring. That however is more of a map-problem than a Sadako-problem.
-
I think you answered your own suggestion.
The last think we should encourage right now is more slugging and the last thing I want to see, besides the return of old dh, is a second RPD-library situation.

Onryo design is plain bad. it needs revisions. spam TV mindlessly shouldn't be the main gameplay for her success. her success should be based off smart macro play and manipulation of tapes.
Nah….. But you know my take already.
@BuffDH said:
Onryo need nerfs like they nerfed the Skull Merchant then they should rework Onryo again. Onryo is too oppressive and boring to go against.
Please dont ever suggest anything like this every again.
@UndeddJester said:
Nerfed? She's a noob stomper, but so are all macro killers... she's struggling quite a bit, and doesn't need nerfing more.
A lot of people want the original version of sadako, but I'm less inclined to believe that will ever happen after the Freddy rework (and I like the Freddy rework, but still).
I also rather like a number of aspects of modern Sadako (however there are still issues)... So sticking with modern Sadako, I still maintain her 3.0 version should: -
- Give 0.5 stacks globally for survivors within range of a powered TV when Sadako teleports.
- Give 0.5-0.75 additional stacks for survivors within range of the TV Sadako teleports to.
- Picking up a tape passively builds condemn at a rate of 1 stack every ~45 seconds or so.
- Half the condemn on different elevations to address the issues on Midwich and the Game.
- Proper add-on pass...
This would make mindlessly spamming TP about half as effective, and not really worth the shut off of TVs. It rewards Sadako for making good reads and using her TPs optimally. It also means that at higher levels, shutting down her TVs immediately to deny her TPs comes with a condemn penalty that Sadako can capitalise on if the survivors ignore it too long, especially with the lock in mechanic, giving her an actual functional slowdown.
+1 with one exception.
Just rework Gideon. The map is horribly balanced and can either make specific killers and perks completely busted (Doctor, Sadako, surge) or completely useless (Bubba, Demo) The map should be reworked in size, and loops should be made more interactive. Nobody wants to play pallet - break simulator and nobody wants to get constantly hit by surge.
