I think it’s more accurate to say that while it’s completely possible you shouldn’t expect to win a 3v1 as its much harder than a 4v1.
Its still possible though. It’s also possible to solo escape at any point.
These are the scenarios where you have to decide between yourself and the team. It’s part of the game.
-
Well yeah they are proposing neutering them.
I've got about 50 or so of them on each killer so I'm gonna get my BP's worth from them before they become useless try to avoid it in the blood web item no 12.
What they are proposing really does seem pretty crap too. You port to a special place for the mori animation taking all the choice, spontaneity and general realism out of it.
Its like they want the game to get blander and blander in an attempt to appease the DC babies.
-
Because people often enjoy a thematic game experience over a mindless pvp experience.
If you want a mechanical pvp experience then great we have tic tac toe, checkers, fortnight you know faceless themeless mechanical pvp experiences.
I prefer a thematic survival horror with a pvp element over just a pvp mechanism with a horror veneer.
Wesker ain’t a great example because basically he’s crap, he’s been crap since his inception and every depiction of him has been laughably comical rather than thematically scary. But RE is a big franchise and a crossover is big bucks so make of that what you will.
Weak antagonists make for weak experiences. There has been a surge in story telling lately of overpowered hero’s facing off against weak ridiculous antagonists. It’s why super hero movies often suck, there is no threat just lots of meaningless explosions. That can’t harm the hero.
If dbd wants to stay true to the slasher flicks that spawned it, and make up a large part of the killer roster, then killers gotta be mean and imposing.
That’s the “killer should be the power role” argument in a nutshell.
I think it’s a good point because what am I trying to escape from if there is no threat?
Now I realise it’s not exactly fair but that’s not necessarily a bad thing given what the game is about. You want a game experience that makes killer imposing and game driving, while survivor is desperate and tense. You get that by making killer the imposing role.

There’s a VERY SMALL % of killers that will farm in this situation. I’m referring to the VAST MAJORITY of games that happen all day long.
Maybe people don't have to farm just because you them want to.

It is. When the clear, vast majority of the community complains about tactics like camping and tunneling, because they are beyond unfun to go against, then those tactics are clearly a problem. Games are meant to be fun, for as many people as possible.
This game isn't only designed for people like you lmao.
Well maybe its not for people like you, if confronting in game tactics are so unfun to be game ruining. DBD has a bunch of these on both sides and they are pretty standard so... think about it.
Also "majority of players" is a little hyperbolic, don't go by the forums this is where the whiners come to whine and they hardly represent the majority of players.
What I see the "majority" of the time is people crying camping/tunnelling even when there is none because its a convenient excuse to pad the ego against loss.
Its easy to blame the boogie man of camping and tunnelling than just to accept the game outcome.
Same goes for how the "majority" of killers on the forum (and a lot of streamers) seem to play against non-stop SWF seal teams, as if they make up the majority of survivor players apparently.
They are some nice ego padding crutches that let you demonise the other side when you don't get exactly what you want from the game.
That doesn't sound like an in game problem to me. *waggles finger at childish player base*

This is why I just adore these forums. Ryuhi, I don’t disagree with you in general. But you have to accept that there is, in fact, a large percentage of games where 1 person or even 2 cannot carry the team. It’s pretty obvious… the game is theoretically balanced to be fair with 4 strong survivors vs 1 strong killer. If you get the strong killer and 1-3 weak teammates you are likely to either die or be the last one standing. There is a limit to what one or 2 can do to carry a team. I don’t usually run endgame builds. But when you play as many hours as I do you need to mix it up for variety’s sake. And you also have to account for peak and non-peak play. Sometimes I go through horrible stretches in off peak hours so that an endgame build is worth playing. Mostly I run altruistic, run, or gen builds.
As for pseudochis… I’m just tired of hearing your bad analyses. 1) you can tell when someone deliberately runs someone to you. When they actually follow you and pause on you while the killer is right on them. 2) lol #########. I know randoms will usually suck. Should I curb that expectation? I’m talking about bad matchmaking which clearly exists but you’re going to disagree. Fine buddy. Feel free. 3) It’s not a negative mindset, it’s fng EXPERIENCE. I know these situations like the back of my hand. If the killer hasn’t found you and then lets the 3rd guy go while you are unaccounted for, you get screwed. You feel free to argue with me all you want… i know of what I speak. But you just want to disagree with me like you always do… have fun dude. I’m done responding to anything you say. It’s a waste of my time.
I think MMR sucks too.
I'm not disagreeing with you, because there is nothing to disagree with... you haven't actually made any kind of point or argument to disagree with.
All you did was have a whinge on the forum about the game and I offered some suggestions that could improve your player mindset and maybe your fun. A lot of the negative experience is in your own head, only you have the power to fix that.
Try it or don't try it doesn't really matter, your fun is meaningless to me, I'll just continue to chuckle at folks like you whinge about everything and everyone else but themselves.
-
I've got no problem with it.
Given how neutered killers can feel sometimes, if it takes a killer player trying to eliminate me early and hunting me ruthlessly to make the game interesting and thrilling I'll take it.
The threat of being eliminated early is your motivation to play more cautiously in the beginning and not be found first.
If you do get targeted its as much on your team mates for not rescuing you or failing to distract the killer as it is on the killer defending the hook you're hanging on and trying to eliminate you as quickly as possible.
Scary killers will kill you that's the whole point, this game shines when its scary. As survivor your palms should be sweaty at the end of a chase.
Nothing worse than a weak antagonist, it makes for boring experiences be it movies or games.
To all the posters calling it annoying or game ruining... well maybe a high stakes elimination game set in a nightmare realm where death is a strong possibility isn't the game for you.
-
Sounds like 3 pretty average games of DBD that went almost the full distance.
Gotta ask yourself do you enjoy playing or just winning?
because I would have had fun playing all those games as you describe.
Couple of issues with your games that may improve your experience and can all be fixed by you...
"3rd survivor deliberately runs the killer to me" really or are you just assuming its deliberate so you have someone to blame if you lose?
"Terrible team. Bad killer." Random match ups don't play the game to your expectation maybe you should curb your solo expectation.
"Terrible team. 2 dead in about 4 minutes. Third is stalked into 1 hit. I hide. He doesn’t down her and instead I hear a gen pop. I know that now I’m the ‘hider’ that will be killed so I can’t win." - Why didn't you stop hiding sooner and again you immediately give up on the idea of playing the game because its now unwinnable, if you start with a negative mindset, you'll end with a negative mindset doesn't matter what happens in game at that point.
While they were by no means perfect games it sounds like some of the "games" problem live in your head and are easily fixed with a lil introspection.

Does it have to capture the exact feeling?
does Demogorgon capture the feeling of the monster in Stranger Things?
i wouldn’t say so, but Demo is still a very fitting and beloved killer in general.
Freddy is another example (though he has other issues and kinda needs some reworks)
inclusion of horror icons in DbD doesn’t mean it has to be a 1:1 portrayal. Now I agree some things don’t work such as Jaws shark or Piranhas. But a Xenomorph can work just as much as Demodog works. Especially considering the Xenomorph drone can be influenced by the Entity just like they are being controlled by their Queen.
you have a point, but anyone who played any of the AvP games that all pre-date DBD the xenomorph experience is very true to the films, it would be hard for DBD to capture that.
The alien would probably just feel like a demo skin, which would be meh. Demo could have been a lot better too but he was the best he could be within the confines of the game.

Basekit BT and basekit UB counter cheap play styles that are boring and taking little to no skill to do. If you aren’t welcoming it in the game, then that says a lot about you as a player.
“Cheap play styles” I think you mean alternate play styles.
Most people can play around any playstyle without throwing a tantrum and belittling their opponent over them.
A comment like that says a lot about you as a gamer.
We’ll have to wait and see how built in UB changes things up but anything that narrows gameplay options usually isn’t very good.
Basically what can see from this is, no need to pick up your team mates and a collection of lose/lose killer scenarios where you are forced to pick up even when it’s less optimal or even a bad idea losing all gained pressure from the down.
We’ll have to test it but experience tells me that it’s probably not a great change. It’s solely to prevent 4x slug auto mori game end, it’s the new mori system that’s the real culprit here. Both changes seem kinda crummy.
-
Yeah it was a golden time.
Some stuff was broken but it made things generally more exciting.
The quest for so called balance is often just a quest for blandness.

So when we adding my main man the xenomorph
You honestly think dbd’s gameplay can capture the feeling of playing xenomorph?
I mean they can run on all surfaces so confining them to the single plain that encompasses a dbd chase would be kinda crappy.
But making play like a xenomorph should, running up and over walls etc, would just break the game.
You’d probably end up with the xeno being nothing but a killer skin with a lunge. It’d be a meh game experience.
-
It’s still a valid opinion.
Just because they introduced some killers that are more ridiculous than scary doesn’t mean that some things don’t fit in the horror genre.
-
Yeah the thinking on this is so odd.
How is a mori spiteful outside of people who take the game too seriously and get upset when mori'd.
The whole premise of the game is to avoid being brutally murdered by some monster, to get upset when said monster doesn't murder you in a polite and mindful manner is probably one of the silliest things I've ever heard.
I feel like there's a push to water down the more intense elements of the game purely so lil Johnny doesn't get his feelings hurt.
Maybe its time to split the player base, they can have...
- DBD horror for those who enjoy a visceral mature horror experience and can deal with the outcome of such.
- DBD light for those who struggle with anything more confronting than a pixar film.

I am all for DbD returning to horror instead of eSport like games. I am competitive myself but I know for a fact that everyone signed up in 2016 for a horror game, you know?
All for it man, all for it.
I hear ya,
Don't get me wrong I'm not "doom saying... its the end of dbd!" or anything like that.
I'm just wary of these changes because they seem like PVP game red flags to me. Changes that can make gameplay more static and tedious over thematic and scary.

This game is changing to a heavy competitive PvP across the board since 2 years ago. The community is more and more into it if you are not aware of this.
For veterans who play DbD since 2016, they may still be around survival horror but the new player experience is pretty much all around competition, win only, the best stuff ever, META etc.
Changing the game to favor the popularity is the right for marketing but I have to admit, I want DbD to stay focused on horror.
I'm well aware of it, that's why I'm here to call it ######### when those kind of changes come into play.
What's the number one thing people complain about on these forums, sweaty SWF and sweaty killers and their various play styles.
Lets double down and promote more of that at the cost of horror experience, because everyone loves a no fun competitive experience where winning is all that matters.
All PVP is infected with this sadly its the nature of PVP and why I'm not a fan of it.
Guy in COD spinning in circles while spraying a PPSH, MWO "Nascar'ing" etc
Dull mechanics plays. 🤮

The threat of being downed is it's a step to getting put on the hook. That's what the game revolves around. Find, chase, hit, chase, hit, pick, hook. At multiple points during it the survivor and/or his/her team may be able to knock the process back a step. I'd say the thing killing the horror element is the slugging, not something meant to encourage its removal. It's always weird to get put down and then see the killer run away.
The killer skipping the last steps is a tension killing slowdown. The Killer eats up more time while not progressing the main objective (sacrifices). Worse, when done with two survivors it ruins the game.
Maybe the changes as proposed go too far. I suspect the times of unbreakable will be nerfed a lot. Maybe the bleedout timer will need to be adjusted to like 2:00. Something like that would still give survivors reasons to pick up their allies to preserve bleedout time. However, that's what playtesting is for, but overall it's addressing an area of the game that needs attention
I disagree with you on what makes the game threatening, the more avenues to elimination beyond just hooks the more threats there are to face. That's why moris and bleeding out are kind of an essential part.
Its not hard to prevent hooks, even easier now that you are time limited on the pick up as killer. The safer you are as survivor the less interesting the game is, built in unbreakable can make for some really safe scenarios.
I do agree though that if the bleed out timer was shorter, making being picked up essential, a base kit unbreakable could be easily justified. You can pick yourself up but it eats a really threatening amount of your bleed out timer.
Its only a test we'll have to see how it plays out but I'm not overly thrilled at the prospect.
-
I'm underwhelmed because its a swing back to DBD being a PVP game over a horror game.
DBD shines as a survival horror but as a PVP experience its kinda meh.
I realize its just a test but its an underwhelming prospect for future DBD.

"This change is nothing more than trying to placate tantrum throwers who can't stand the 4 min timer."
Being left to lay on the ground for 4 mins is boring. BHVR is trying to remove a boring element from a game that is supposed to be tense and exciting. They are going to test out an idea.
Like, yeah, good.
But its only a select few scenarios where you bleed out for the 4 mins, a blanket built in unbreakable is not really the solution to that.
I'm all for them testing things but this one really is a bad idea.
Where's the threat of being downed if you can pick yourself up?
Its an escalation, you get chased, wounded, downed. Escalating threat is essential to an exciting game experience.
You can escape from chase unharmed, you can heal yourself with various mechanics or get healed, but once down you need a team mate or specific limited use perk to help you... that's an appropriate escalation of threat given what it takes to be downed.
People may say that DBD isn't a horror game, well let me tell you watering down the escalating threat is one sure fire way to make it not a horror game.
You take the horror out of DBD and what do you have left, a scooby doo chase simulator with really dull repetitive mechanics.
There are so many dull pvp games out there where you just respawn endlessly till you hit max time/score I'd hate to see dbd start going that way.
Why have dying state at all if you can just undo it for free whenever you like?
Your rationale for this is people don't like being slugged, well I say those people don't get why its a good part of the game.
It really does feel like pandering to the "waah I don't like this delete it" crowd. Which we all know are the worst kind of gamers.

What happens when there's no other Survivor to chase around the Survivor you just downed in early game?
Is your ability to create early game pressure now lost?
Do you not see how stupid that sounds?
No because you just hook the survivor you've downed. Obviously
But if the scenario calls for you to slug over hooking that downed survivor... well you may as well not bother now because slugging as a tactic for pressure is largely void if survivors can pick themselves up.
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3200959#Comment_3200959
You do know that slugging a survivor to immediately chase another is a slow down tactic early game? You force another survivor to get off a gen to pick up their teammate while you chase another. That's three survivors not working on gens. If survivors can pick themselves up nobody is going to come for that save so you are forced to abandon chase on a survivor to pick up the slug. All the while two other survivors never stop holding M1 on a gen.
The ability to create early game pressure is now lost.
exactly.
This effect renders being knocked down meaningless and forces pick ups that may not be the best play in the moment.
Being slugged and bleeding out are appropriate threats to face when playing survivor.
This change is nothing more than trying to placate tantrum throwers who can't stand the 4 min timer.
-
ugh this is what you can do in predator hunting grounds, get put into the dying state no worries just keep getting up in 2 secs its a really bad idea.
In that it renders all threat from being knocked down completely meaningless and forces the opponent to hook even if its not the ideal play.
Being slugged and bleeding out are thematically and mechanically appropriate effects to have to deal with as survivor.

It is a very different game from how it was several years ago.
Remember original moris, original syringes, instant gen BNPs, literal infinites with no entity blocker, etc? Original, permanent sabotage and Self-Care at 80% healing speed?
Basically all of these things have been removed, and rightly so because they were completely broken and unbalanced. TP is hardly any different from some of these, maybe slightly less egregious but not by much.
The cost of killing a player who still has a bunch of stalk left is not really that relevant as long as it happens quickly enough to the point where Myers can easily clean up a 3v1 at 3-4 gens, which is often the case with the green memorial addon that basically everyone runs with TP because it's by far the best option to pair with it.
I'm all for improving Myers' kit, but this addon needs to go.
mechanically its changed a lot yes but just because they removed a lot of OP game ending items doesn't really change up the game other than its harder to zap some out in less than 2 mins.
Players are now just tryin to eliminate others quickly via other means, tunneling out a survivor early, camping till second stage to mori etc because they lost the tools that used to let them do that.
Players haven't changed, the premise of the game hasn't changed.
So there is still a quick kill item in the game but it requires some charge up and for survivors to play poorly to get it to pay off.
Is it still a bit OP sure and probably needs a review but its just as relevant to the game now as it was years ago.
Just because they build in changes to make it harder to eliminate someone early doesn't mean that eliminating someone early is some archaic mechanic that no longer belongs in the game.

I do feel betrayed by BHVR, and I stand by that point. It is not a sign of anger, it is my genuine feeling.
The things we were promised in the big patch, have been opposite of what we got. They said their aim was to counter tunnelling, camping and to reward engagement. But we got the exact opposite with the buffs and nerfs that they made.
Prior to the Patch, you could camp or tunnel but it always came at an expense of something, the gens would fly (is the typical scenario). They increased gen repair time, they lowered stun duration by ANY means, reduced the BT effects to fit it as basekit, and made tunnelling easier with the Bloodlust.
I don't care what people say, being excessive with camping or tunnelling, refusing to actually participate in chase or engage in the match - is scummy and toxic. That is what I label as that, and you can honestly argue with the wall if you choose to disagree.
Do a few kinks in a game's patch changes really amount to a betrayal of you as a gamer?
Are you sure the "genuine feeling" you are having isn't just I get grumpy over some killer tactics?
This is a real introspection moment.
I don't care if you change your view on the game or not, your fun is meaningless to me... but you have the power to change your view on the game and increase your own fun as a result.
Or stay feeling betrayed, which is completely ridiculous.
-
@Murgleïs said:
The only toxic thing in what you described is you calling the killer bad for getting 4k or thinking you are the only good player in your team. If you are not happy with randoms, play with your friends and stop trashtalking.
Also bodyblocking (the hatch) is not toxic.
Exactly this.
If you get a lot of toxic killers then you must be getting a lot of cheating, griefing, rage quits, post game abuse, threats, harassment via DM's... you know things that are actually toxic behavior.
Toxic does not = gameplay I don't like.
When there are statements like "feel lied to" and "betrayed" by BHVR in the comment, its a pretty big red flag that the point is driven by anger over rational thought.
Its only a game for crying out loud, don't take it so seriously that you feel betrayed over some mechanics changes.
Take a chill pill or you are gonna keep having a very toxic mindset about the game and be angry at your team mates and opponents thus ruining your own fun.

1. No, "my" not overthinking too much. The game was entirely different, with different strategies, different perks, addons etc.
I paid attention to my surroundings. He simply hid very well, stalking behind a gap.
But please tell me which other killer insta kills you without a warning, TR, etc.
The game changing over time doesn't immediately invalidate some mechanics. 2019 or 2022 is kinda irrelevant.
Then I guess he played well and earned a kill on you better luck next time.
you miss the point, there are all kinds of mechanics you need to account for on both sides.
Yes tombstone piece is probably a lil OP given how much of a snowball effect killing a survivor early can have, but the goal is not to feed him stalk. Accounting for opponent powers and altering play based on what killer you are facing is part of the game.

1. Yes, 2022 DBD is an entirely different game. Medium vaults exist, windows get blocked, insta BNPs aren't a thing and most important for my narative, first down moris aren't a thing. Which is what exactly t. piece is.
2. "That's on your team for feeding him stack" - that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
a. In solo Q, I'm not responsable of my team's doings.
b. Does this also mean that Myers should never T3? What's next, a gen getting PGTW is our fault for getting downed, like it isn't a natural part of the game?
3. No, it's not costly. Get a survivor out at 4 gens, the team is pretty screwed. By that point, if you quickly down someone, at least 2 people will be busy, leaving one person to do 4 gens.
It's not costly for any killer to get someone out in the first few minutes, regardless of how it affects their power.
4. "Evade and jump into a locker" - May you please explain how the first person getting mori can know he has t. piece? There are very few people who know about his open hand, but the fact that no one in my team knows that affects me very much. I still lose one teammate early game.
Also, have you considered the situation where, as I said, he stalks you out of the TR (it's literally 16m), with stalk speed addons, and then he jumps with T3 on you? I played on Dead Dawg, and I was doing a gen on the cactus side of the map. How could I have done anything by the point he T3d and jumped on me from nowhere?
- It really isnt your over thinking it.
- Yes if your team feed him stalk and get away then there is a chance you could be the target of the tier 3 attack. Try to evade Myers when in T3, bold players get killed yet people still play bold and complain they get killed.
- This is true, eliminating a player early is a major boost to killer outcome and probably the only valid point about tombstone piece. It’s why you try not to feed Myers stalk in the early game.
- If it’s Myers you gotta assume he may have the piece then you gamble on that it’s part of the game. Same as a killer may have noed, survivors may have DS, UB etc etc. Don’t expect the game to spoon feed you every piece of information about your opponent sometimes you’ll have to use your head and think/plan/predict you will get it wrong sometimes and that ok.
So you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings when he stalked you and then didn’t get away when you heard the terror radius? How dare that Myers not let you play obliviously!
-
Or just narrow your definition of camping. Problem solved.

Oh, I love moris. What I don't like is that moris are going to be limited to the last survivor now, and they're going to occur in a set location. I'm really going to miss survivor photobombs, awkward flashlight/pallet saves on moris, and putting survivors in weird places to get stuff like Pinhead roasting an Elodie over a fire barrel, Demo eating Steve on the table in Mother's Dwelling, or just observing a pile of dead Claudettes in triumph.
Will it really have that kind of limitation?
Was that in a dev release somewhere and I missed it?
That would be a really stupid limitation, moris already became rare after the ebony change, a change with those kinds of limitations would make them nonexistent. Which would really suck.

A killer having a weak basekit doesn't justify the existence of overpowered addons. The basekits of those killers should be buffed and Myers is no exception to that.
Stuff like tombstone piece just doesn't belong in 2022 DBD.
I love the “it doesn’t belong in 2022 dbd” like it’s some completely different game in 2022.
What does that even mean really. It’s BS.
As for tombstone piece in general it is strong but if you die to it to first time you see Myers that’s on your team for feeding him stalk.
It’s also costly to Myers to kill a player who still has full stalk left.
Evade him and jump in a locker, force the grab and hook over the mori. It’s not like he can pick you up off the ground and mori you.
-

So much better than watching the entity drag you into the sky for the 100th time.
Best mori ever was on Hawkins, animation fell behind some barrels and all you could see was my feet and the Hag’s arms flailing over the top of the barrels. She then emerged from behind to swallow the liver on camera.
It was framed like a movie scene by pure chance and I wish I’d been recording at the time. So good.
-
I wish, I play it a lot but I rarely see it as survivor, which is a shame.
played against a Hag for the first time in a long time last weekend that was refreshing at least.
-
Hillbilly, I can’t steer to save myself have a similar problem with oni like em both but just can’t get into em.
Nurse, I wish I was better at nurse. She’s got one of the best powers in the game and a really creepy aesthetic. I can play her but just not good enough and I’m not motivated enough to put the time in to master it anymore.

I’m tentatively looking forward to either bots or moris or both.
But I’ve wanted in game bots for a long time, as much as I love moris I’m hoping it’s bots.
-
Global buffs no not really.
Some specific character tweaks are welcome though.

I'm not taking the perk stats seriously either specially because of that self care challenge.
But the kill/survive rates I do believe those.
But you're taking the kill rate stats seriously?
The ol cherry pick analysis works every time.
"I measured 3 things but I only believe the first two, why because I don't like the third one"
Without any relative differences to compare between, the blanket percentages are just a novelty.
Given the theme and design of the game you'd expect a killer skew to the overall numbers, which is what its at so I say BHVR have hit their goal, speaking very generally.
It does not mean that as a survivor you only have a fixed 39% chance of escape.

A 30 second chase with is generally not good enough against most killers. Especially when Pulsar's teammates clearly suck.
It wasn't a terrible chase. Bubba just played well, the hits were fair.
What about that scenario tells you that the team mates suck?
Killer only had 1 hook at 4 gen lefts, 1 popped during the chase and one survivor was unhooking and healing the other.
Given the the complete lack of all but very surface information about what's happening elsewhere in game, how do you adequately conclude that his team mates sucked?
That was still anyone's game.

DBD is only fun when everyone in the match cares about it being fun.
Nothing occupies me like DBD does. I haven't ever been so invested in a community nor have I found a game that I was actually good at before. You get angry at CoD? Play Battlefield. Fortnite's not fun? Play Apex. DBD's lost it's charm? Play....DBD?
Yeah I get that I'm in the same boat when I get tired of DBD, there's not much else like it that's any good. Predator hunting grounds ain't bad but its a lil too easy to evade and kill the pred for my liking.
But lets focus less on what we can earn from the game, BP' MMR, shards, ranks and focus more on just playing the game.
Works for me every time.
A lot of DBD is gonna be out of your control, especially as survivor, but that's one of the cooler aspects of it.
You don't endlessly respawn, minor failure can be instantly devastating on your game, there aren't many games like that and its why DBD shines. It can be as visceral, of a gaming experience, as the horror movies it emulates and that's great.

If I drop the pallet there, the outcome is the same, only I've made a big deadzone for my team.
You can see with WoO that there aren't any pallets nearby.
Likewise, even if I had made it somewhere, based off of this behavior, I do not think the outcome would be any different.
Maybe.
I'm not telling what you should have done because frankly I wasn't there.
I'm just thinking what I probably would have tried in that scenario and its outcome could have been exactly the same. I don't pretend to know any better than you did in the moment.

But how could i have had fun?
Yeah, I had a really good chase (for me, thanks people who keep nitpicking my gameplay) but what did that matter? Nobody got out. I got like 6k points. I lost MMR. There's no metric in which I can spin it positively.
You played DBD and that's fun.
Isn't that enough?
If its not... then as I said, maybe its time for a break.

A survivor tea-bags a killer at the gate, killer heads explode everywhere. A killer bms a survivor by tunneling and hitting on hook, then we get a "probably uncalled for" but it's really the survivors fault for not playing perfectly.
Survivors can BM at the gate all they want, as killer you have the power to stop that in an instant its called M1 or even better M2.
I didn't see any tunneling in that vid and the hitting on hook is just as innocuous as Bm'ing at the exit gate.
As survivor if you get caught and/or killed you probably should have done more not to get caught. (sometimes even that isn't enough random chance will get us all eventually).
What happens directly after getting caught (hooking/slugging) is largely out of your control. That's DBD.
If your goal was to make a good rebuttal, I'm afraid you'll have to do better than that.
-
There's 1 hatchet learn to dodge it.
Yeah hit boxes can be borked but half the time you get borked hit boxes survivors are already doing something that gets you a hit anyway.
The best way to learn how to dodge iri hatchet is to play iri hatchet. Play some huntress smack on an iri hatchet and see what works and doesn't work.

Yeah I'm afraid all this video shows is you having a pretty good chase where you misread a mind game at the vault and then got greedy at a pallet you should have dropped, leading to a down.
The Bubba then smacks you on hook which is probably uncalled for but not the end of the world.
Someone else was on hook and not being camped during the vid so the killer either committed to chasing you away from the hook or left the hook which also doesn't really fit the narrative.
Personally I would have vaulted back through the main building window while the killer didn't have line of sight, you probably would have lost them completely then.
2 hooks at 3 gens they could switch it up to a defensive game at that point if they chose to.
I'd say it has nothing to do with how you played. People always say I didn't do anything toxic why did they camp?? but defending a hook is sometimes just a good play. It doesn't mean your opponent is mad at you or out to ruin your fun, stop projecting onto your opponent.
That was a pretty good chase, if you are finding even the base elements of DBD unfun then my suggestion is take a break from it.
Even if they camped and tunneled me to death at the end of that I'd finish out the game with a GG and move on. Well done Bubba you caught and killed me just like the entity is telling you to do.

ok thanks, no need to be sarcastic :)
I don’t tend to write sarcastically in text it doesn’t translate well without intonation.
That first post genuine.
People get way to into things as trivial a computer games and the resulting fallout is usually ridiculous and just a lil comical.

Perks aren’t there to carry you they are there to augment gameplay.
Either providing a bonus to you or a debuff to your opponent.
It’s possible to win as survivor and killer without perks at all.
When asking the question how can killers be so strong to win without perks?
You also gotta pose the counter question how badly did survivors screw up to die to a perkless killer?
You notice how the first question always gets asked but people conveniently forget the second.
I’d say it’s typically because the first makes players able to blame any failure on the opponent which is easy on the ego.
The second forces players to admit their mistakes and seek personal improvement, much harder on the ego.

I did have fun, for real tho. I'm not trying to somehow "bully" anyone. I'm the first bad player here. There's a reason I have Bot in my name!
I don’t get the motivation for the post then.
You seem like you want to mock a player who camped. I guess you don’t like camping then?
Is this a dig at camping or a dig at the player?
If they player hadn’t camped would you have made the post?
How is the camping relevant to the rest of it?
Maybe I’m reading to much into it.
