Can the devs put in accessibility features? I know people have been asking for colorblind features for a while, and I don’t see how turning blood/scratch marks/instinct blue would give non colorblind users an advantage. Also spamming to struggle not only is hard on the fingers but hard on controllers and keyboards!
Can they give Ms Plague effects for her green vomit? It doesn’t do anything that encourages survivors to cleanse, and I personally think she would benefit from having Doc style effects to being sick.
Console optimization! Why are the starting screens uncapped? Will dbd be backwards compatible for ps5?
Will the devs consider making Shadowborn basekit and buff it to something else? It’s a lot easier on the eyes and is one of those accessible perks people use.

Please find your own topic or pm each other if you’re not going to talk about the actual topic.

Would be swell if people actually discussed the topic instead of derailing it with an entirely separate discussion...

Maybe 4 seconds could be lopped off for every sacrifice or dc?

You already have a ton of butch options in dead by daylight since it's filled with it.There is nothing wrong with butch However it's only catering to ONE specific audience. I've seen few feminine option so far with SOME characters. However they always have a butch/tomboy edge to it. In my opinion it is selfish you think we need more butch cosmetics since we have no options of feminine cosmetics so far.
I don’t think you understand what butch actually is because most of the cosmetics in dbd are definitely not butch.
-
There’s nothing wrong with butch. In fact, there should be more butch cosmetics. I actually think there’s already a lot of feminine ones.
-
It’s so weird how Spirit and Yamaoka Estate were just a single chapter. If a survivor had come with that chapter, they should have had at least 3 outfits by now that fit their character.

Everything is political, dude. This is the real world because we’re already living in the real world and politics are apart of everything and impact everything.

What if there was a survivor perk that worked after death?
Like after you die, for each gen completed gain an additional 25% bp. Awarded after trial’s end.
-
It’s a chicken/egg scenario tbh. And both need to be addressed. Gens are too fast and killers are too weak. Killers are not afforded the same luxury as survivors who have the freedom to experiment with perks - killers MUST use half their builds for slowdown if they want a serious chance. That alone inherently puts killers in a weak position.
Map design is also a huge factor - they’re much too big with too many strong obstacles to manage at 115% speed, 110% is even harder.

I always worry that as long as I live in my current town, I’ll never get a bf. Most people in my town just stay inside (myself included).
That’s also one of my fears. I’m afraid I’ll never get out of this place. There’s nothing for me here, nobody I can really talk to, and small towns have small minds (especially when Catholicism is pretty much baked into the culture of the area) which makes it even harder for me as a disabled bi.

Doctor. I don’t think people give him enough credit and they see him as a noob stomper when he really can do so much with a lot of diverse builds.
Now old Freddy was truly underrated. My beautiful walking pepperoni was seen as a gremlin among killers but to me, he was a real monster who had gen slowdown built into his base kit. It was beautiful seeing people get cocky because you were Fredward and then whooping their butts with your talons. I loved how he could see all: you were in HIS world and waking up was so important.
I like new Freddy and am relieved he didn’t get a trash rework like Symmetra from overwatch did, but old Freddy will always be my bae.

No offense Pemberly but I live in a extremely rural area (population of a little over 500 people), live in a poor family and my internet isn’t very good. If my internet gets too bad to play online games then I do log off since it is rude to other players and I myself can’t enjoy the game if I’m being dced, fortunately mine only really acts up in Winter but still, I doubt if you’re getting dced constantly I doubt you’re having much fun and neither are your opponents/teammates.
And that’s understandable. I agree that it’s only respectful to take a break if you’re having trouble connecting. It’s not fun for anybody, but especially you, because there’s a number of things that are greatly preferable than watching your internet sputter and die especially in the middle of a rain or snow storm (even worse if something happens that just makes your connection go dead.)
I just think there’s a stark difference between that and people being classist because they’re frustrated at the Very Intentional dcs and genuinely believing “get better internet” is a reasonable solution to this problem.
I hope that makes sense.

Gaming can be enjoyed by anyone. There are lots of single player games, or even solo online games you can enjoy with a bad connection. When you decide to play an online game with an unstable connection especially of the pve/pvp variety which require you to group up, you are now ruining the game for other people when you disconnect. How about having empathy for the people's games that are being ruined?
This isn't being "classist" lol but nice bait. You aren't entitled to ruin other's experience just because you want to play a game without having the appropriate infrastructure. Unfortunately the world isn't fair and not everything can be catered to everyone.
You’re still admitting that you believe that multiplayer and online gaming should only be played by those who can afford to. And yes, it is classist. Put on your critical thinking cap and think about it.
it is unfair and dishonest to lump people with internet beyond their control in with the sort who DELIBERATELY ruin matches by dcing for whatever petty salty reason. Guess what? You can keep believing in your small heart and mind that it’s poor people who should be punished for the dcs but the actual culprits - the salty bitter pathetic cowards who dc on purpose - will still dc or intentionally suicide.
The world doesn’t have to be unfair. Such edgy apathy only goes to show that you’re comfortable with the status quo, the rest be damned.
-
So many jerks in this thread. Grow some empathy!
Internet in America is screwed up thanks to the corporate oligarchs that control and monopolize everything (and we’re in the throes of late stage capitalism too.) Rural areas tend to be surprise! poorer because there’s not a lot of business and the business there is knows they can charge what they want. I live in a semi rural town and Time Warner is our only option, and the option we have is a pretty penny and it’s not the fastest package to boot (although thankfully it’s pretty stable) - coincidentally when you go into the richer town not far from where I live (I live in an area close to a lake and the class disparity is HUGE and noticeable) one can get Fios and other lightning quick packages.
It’s easy to say “oh if you have unstable internet, don’t play” but it’s callous and it’s classist. You’re literally advocating that gaming should only be enjoyed by those who can pay to play. It’s gross.

That is such a precious photo of her. But yeah, I agree even though I still like her in dbd. It’s like they modeled her off a photo of Natalia instead of scanning her.

I don't actually mind the hair model that much
However I'm really not a fan of how it looks green in game.
So after digging around I found that the texture itself is this awful yellow green color
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/724/L10YABEMXW9U.png
Why?? Her hair is CLEARLY not yellow green
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/875/R8URKNZESFQ7.png
So I took it into Photoshop and literally in 5 seconds instantly improved it. Who decided that the color those used was acceptable?
You’re so right! I have all her outfits and every other hair is a similar shade of brown except this yucky yellowy green one. I think this combined with the other factors does her no favors.
-
@Mo4ntus said:
Are you complaining about the actual hair style or the way it bounces also it’s kinda clear that they are probably trying to make people forget that technically this character is like 18 because I doubt they want to be known as the game where you kill kids
Well she’s already aging out of her teen years since the last season was all about her having a job as a journalist. And there’s a huge difference between making someone look slightly older and like a 45 year old woman.
The lack of bounce and the way the hair lays on her head makes her look like something died and the Hag offered to do her hair with it. If the hair had bounce and if some curls hung loose by her face like it does in the show, she would look so much better.
-
@Mo4ntus said:
No offense but I’d rather the team focus on balancing the game over another hair redesign
The art team is different than the game design team.
I know it’s not super important, but Nancy got done just a little dirty with that hair.

I think killers deserve fun skins and I think Mr. Puddles is both comedic and creepy.
If Steve can have Scoops, Clown can have Elifino. Michael also deserves his Ghost skin, Ghostface deserves Derpface, and Demo deserves to be alight with Christmas lights.

I hate the idea of stories trying to “cure” characters with disabilities. It implies that we’re somehow lesser than or broken compared to abled bodies, and we’re not. It’s erasure of our identities that we have had to live with since birth.
I would personally love to see a disabled survivor in dbd!

I got a decent way into the main storyline before finally kinda wandering off because I have no clue what to do next, lol. Tried doing a side quest, only to discover after I've gotten to what I THINK is a boss monster that the quest is recommended for lvl 32 or higher...I'm lvl 4. Boss 1 shot me. Takes me back to my Skyrim days when you run into giants within 15 minutes of starting the game.
Here’s some tips for death march from a dm veteran:
- Don’t go off the beaten path until you get leveled up some. Especially in Velen. Novigrad is slightly easier to not end up facing a 32 boss since the city is more or less locked into the 10s. By the time you get to Skellige you should be leveled up enough to explore with care.
- Quen is your friend in the early game.
- Dodge! Rolling wastes stamina.
- Alchemy is literally the bomb. Make good use of it and watch as you become nearly invincible.
- Follow the level suggestions.
- The monster experience trophies are the most useful.
- Read your bestiary!

It should be, but even if it isn’t, Witcher 3 is worth every penny - it’s such a good game! My favorite of the decade next to The Last of Us.

If you think playing killer is stressful, like I've seen a few people say, stop playing the game. Games should be fun. The fact that you're worried about perks possibly being nerfed in the future is insane. If it's not fun, stop playing, and stop making drama where there is none.
I’m already playing the Witcher 3. But sure, encourage people to leave the game without voicing genuine criticism...that will surely solve the bad queue times and improve the state of the game!

If you lose three gens in the opening minute of a match, I am questioning what it is exactly that you are doing during that time.
Yes I have lost a gen, on rare occasions two, but three? I would have to have been AFK for that to happen.
No, just be “lucky” enough to get coordinated survivors with at least 2 toolboxes and a large map.
Edit: FlashTorpedo said it better.

It’s called “why do I need this DLC perk unlocked, then accessed through hundreds of killer bloodwebs just to have a CHANCE at an even playing field?”

@Almo said:
Yes, we do ask the question about what's fun for Killers. Hence the changes to insta-heals, Decisive Strike, and some others. :)
No offense, @Almo but literally all of those survivor changes were NECESSARY because they were blatantly broken, not so much for killers’ benefit. And I remember for most - if not all - of those survivor changes were met equally with nerfs to killers.
This Ruin change was unnecessary and blatantly in favor of survivors whilst IGNORING the key core underlying issue in regards to Killers using Ruin: genspeeds and a lack of objectives for survivors allowing them to speed through the match before a killer can properly get going.
-
Killer should not be the stressful role, and yet they decide to double down on it meanwhile survivor is a stress free game of hide, seek, loop, rush, teabag.

The new Hex: Ruin hasn't even been tested on the PTB and people are already slandering it and talking about how survivors should receive equivalent nerfs.

Sometimes you don’t need to try something to know it’s crap.

The title is correct. <5 is "greater than 5".
So the title is "Hatch should only spawn with greater than 5 gens done when there is only one Survivor left".
Your interpretation would only make sense if it was LESS than 5 gens or >5, but it's not.
<5 means less than. Google it. Remember back in school, your teacher taught you that the alligator always eats the greater number?
Can my thread please stop getting derailed by this nonsense?

I dont like to piss killers, if moris get nerfed, keys should.
Both end the game prematurely.
Try harder next time :)
And then what's you're point?
You contradict yourself everytime you say something, if you're CHANGING hatch mechanic you should specific if keys are not being changed by this.
Your title is
"HATCH SHOULD ONLY SPAWN WITH <5 GENS DONE WHEN THERE’S ONLY ONE SURVIVOR LEFT."
Basically what anyone will understand is that you need to repair 5 gens and be the last survivor to get the hatch.
EDIT YOUR TITLE :)
My title literally says what I have been saying all along - the hatch should spawn when there are LESS THAN FIVE GENS DONE (didn’t you learn about the lesser/greater than symbols in school?) when there is ONE survivor left.
if you STILL had trouble reading and understanding the title, do thr reasonable and logical thing AND READ THE POST.
Learn reading comprehension! It’s elementary, Watson!

They do.
OP's bring this change to the table:
If hatch only would spawn when 5 gens completed, this a NERF TO KEYS, since it would not spawn at 1/2 gens and 2 or 3 survs can't escape anymore.
Keys > Moris
2 or 3 survivors CAN escape. They just NEED TO DO THE GENS. You know LIKE NORMAL.
Because too many times there have been games where SURVIVORS COULD HAVE ESCAPED but ONE SCAREDY-CAT decided to hide forever or camp the hatch and basically force the other survivor(s) WHO IS ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME to die to end the match.
The way you keep harping about keys, I’m honestly getting the impression you like to piss off killers with them or you yourself like to camp the hatch. There really is no good reason for the hatch to spawn when survivors have died and gens still need to get done - it just encourages toxic or cowardly behavior and the midgame hatch escape is unearned.
-
@laurelstroodle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/962264#Comment_962264
Read carefully, please.
He's saying that if 5 gens dont get completed the hatch doesn't spawn.
This would be a nerf to keys, and if keys get changed/nerfed moris should as well.
That is not what I said, way to be alarmist. The hatch would still spawn but only when survivor 3 dies. This changes nothing about 4 survivors escape via hatch or egc. This WOULD, however, nerf the survivors who hide and don’t do anything and force the other to die to end the match. And HOPEFULLY buff teamwork.
-
Do you have the malicious intention or are you purposely doing things to aggravate, upset, or ruin the experience of any of the other 4 players?
If you answered no, congrats you’re not toxic. Yes, please step on a lego. “But I’m just having fun!!!!” - if your idea of fun is at the expense of others, you’re a jerk.
-
@laurelstroodle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/962131#Comment_962131
The "supossed fix" OP's bringing to the table would damage a lot of other game mechanic.
If hatch only would spawn at 5 gens, if there is 1 survivor left and 5 gens are not completed, how does egc activate?
will survivor take again the game hostage which forces killer to dc?
Please read carefully. All I’m saying is that if survivors have died and gens still need to be completed, then the hatch should only appear when 1 is left. Nothing about the egc changes. Just that a survivor can’t camp and leave the other to an inevitable demise.
-
@laurelstroodle said:
When moris get balanced we can do something about hatch
Fixing the hatch would benefit survivors since it’s the OTHER survivors suffering for it.
-
@SkeletonWitch said:
I play solo survivor and it’s definitely not a “relaxing walk in the park”, especially against a good killer.
So do I, and yes it is. Literally the most stress survivors need to deal with is toxic behavior from killers or other survivors. And then you move on and hope the next game isn’t like that. Good killers make the game fun and actually have stakes!
-
If I’m able to, as I’m on ps4 and people (like me) have random messages turned off PRECISELY because of toxic jerks, I always try to send nice messages to killers that treated me mercifully or were noteworthy or other survivors who helped me. Too many childish toadstools send nasty messages directly or via “friend” request.
