Since everybody including many former DBD content creaters are now playing TCM, an old game i played for thousends of hours a few years ago came back to my mind:

The (often not so) good old DbD.

2 years is a long time to fix things, so i thought i give it another chance. After 3 days of trying it out, my conclusion is pretty straight forward.

    First the good:

-- Bloodweb is now more confortable and you earn more bloodpoints.

-- Nurse and Spirit seems to be tuned down a little bit, especially the addons. Still 4King with them every single game tho, besides beeing extremly rusty.

-- Some perks like Hex: Ruin oder Deadhard are now more fair.

    Now to the bad:

-- The new maps look all aweful. Maybe its just personal taste tho. Those strange colors are a big turn off for me.

-- Way to much fog. I know, Horror game and so, but i personally and probably most others wont get scared by that game anyway, besides beeing in an intense chase.

-- Most maps got reworked and are now absurdly killer sided. Even less pallets then before (i counted 6-8 in custom games, more 50/50 then before, lack of playable loops, more deadzones. Strange choice.

-- Instead of reworking the extremly boring main object, they added another 10 Sekunds to it. Really? Thats the best these developers came up in 2 years?

-- Beside massiv survivor nerfs (less distance after hit, maps favour clearly killer, longer healing time, longer gen repair time) killer became by design even more oppresive. This might be a bit early to judge, but some new killers like the alien can do everything at once. Teleport, ignoring pallets/windows, beeing stealthy and still 115%? Seriously who came up with that?

-- Something is wrong with fast vaults. Is this a bug or intentional?

Overall, it feels like the devs are aiming for a 70% killrate for whatever reason. Stats show that 60% rate is already reality and those were apparently before some majore survivor nerfs. Why?

I will abandon survivor for a bit and see how killer is going but so far i feel i will also jump on TCM hype train and see how this plays.

    Thanks for reading.

Because apparently the game is still "survivor sided"

its only not a 3 out if the survivors dont have brains. they should know going for the save is a stupid idea for the most part (unless they are planning a trade to extend the camp) and just do gens. if they dont, thats not a soloQ issue thats a skill issue.

I would suppose it just depends on gens left

  • @EternalHails said:

it's just a laugh. too crazy speed. It is not normal.

I agree, it should be 30000 seconds minimum

  • @caipt said:

I dont get why we're even removing camping. like sure fine Its unfun but its literally the easiest 3 out of your life. if every game just removed everything people found annoying like this then most games would suck. like imagine if valorant made it so only your first bullet could headshot so you couldnt crossmap snipe after spraying.

Because it's terrible for the person on hook? They don't get to do anything

And its only a 3 out if it's an experienced SWF, if there's even 1 that is new or unexperienced/throwing then it's gg

Had a game recently where for some reason the Sadako was determined to condemn Mori everyone. The old "grab a tape and hold" strat meant I was fine... in fact a lot of the time I deliberately ditched my tape so that I could use my item. Amanaging condemn was fine...

I was last survivor standng, my Kate was slugged, and the only reason I got close to condemn was she hardcore gunned for condemn stacks after knocking my tape outta my hand... I managed to grab a tape from a TV to stop it with one TP left to go... and as she got close, I hopped in a locker... I literally sat there for for like 45 seconds with her staring at me, before don't a fast hop and back in again.... eventually another minute later she grabbed me out, let me wiggle free and tried to hit me again, but I made it to another locker...

I had fun with it, and I was really trying to think why she was so determined to mori me... trying to think if there was an achievement or a challenge that required it that I was robbing her of (I'd give it up in this case), but I'm not aware of any... but the point was it prevented me from being mori'd, so you've got another layer if you really need it.

As long as you don't keep W-ing to other TVs, which are at gens, I'm not sure how anyone really lets Condemn gets to high degrees... I still would like the global condemn nerfed to 0.5 stacks and have the old 16m condemn give 0.5 of a stack that goes through tapes. High level Sadako gains some pressure, brain dead Sadako loses some pressure.

More of a fun thing, some would rather be actual killers than be hookers and do not want to hook so try to kill in other ways

It's like the rancor game afoot strat or iri tombstone Myers outside of the achievement

Noo, I want special gens to be part of the basegame.

    1. Old Brown generators, they make more skill checks.
    2. Big Blue generators, they take longer to start.
    3. Purple Generator, standing next to it will highlight a locker which you need to bring an part from to begin repairs.
    4. Green Generator, makes alot of noise.
    5. Well I ran out of ideas already, help me!

bHVR you should add this totally, put generators that take more time in the tough locations and use it to increase player interactions.

Ik this is sarcasm but unironically, new modes that make you have to find parts for the gens would be a lot more fun than just holding a button

A infinite hook mode or power for custom games would be cool too, just for fun

Decrease exhaustion cooldown to 20 seconds, and increase the speed from 150% to like you said 175%.

It's too punishing if you activate it at the wrong time.

Agree, if anything the exhaustion should be lessened since it's not a perk you use in chase

  • @timetodohottakes said:

BHVR plan to increase the duration of the sprint burst to 5 seconds, which will be the same duration adrenaline has, but it doesn't help the perk to be valuable much at all, simply because sprint burst exist.

Sprint Burst will do what Background player does but truly on demand and can be used way way way more often with extremely more value than background player will ever have, extending it's speed boost duration will not fix the perk issue which is sprint burst is better and without a condition.

    How to fix the perk?

Give it a true unique effect of haste to it, this perk is meant to do saves, from flashlights to pallets to flashbangs or even sabotaging, but it gives the same speed boost as any other perks so why not use other perks?

    Background player:

Increase sprinting speed by 175% for 3 seconds once the killer picks up a survivor. (same condition it is live)

This way the perk will truly do it's purpose and be different from other exhaustion perks, it is meant to be a save perk and now it truly is.

Yes 25% change is completely game changing..

While Mft activates a gamechanging mechanic during looping because of failing as survivor (getting injured), Coup gets the same unfair effect also at failing (loosing gens).

Also both perks are secret to some grade. Actually, an experienced killer can see if the surv is running mft, but there is no indicator of seeing Coup.

If they leave Mft that way, survivors running it should be highlighted. Same with Coup.

My personal rework for Coup would be like this:

    • For every hooked survivor, you gain 5% increased lunge range.
    • Missing a lunge reduces the range by 5%.

About the Knight. True, but camping is still to powerful on him. In fact the Knights mechanic encourage this playstyle.

How is it powerful on him when they can't even hurt you unless you're moving really slow to the hook?

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Honestly sounds perfect. Bring back old DH, keep MFT as is, buff flashlights to their former glory. They can also be programmed not camp or tunnel.

It wasn't programmed to camp or tunnel

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

yes, we get it. BHVR doesn't care about killers and the role is in such a terrible state that it's basically unplayable. The devs need to give general killer buffs like making all survivors start the game on a hook in the basement. Then killer might be playable again, right?

Exactly, and the only way survivors can get out is by hoping for 4% or someone else does

At least that way luck & slippery meat would finally have a use

  • I am

Genuinely prefer it to getting hooked but people will hate me cuz I'm not killing them immediately I guess 🤷‍♂️

  • @OneAutmLeaf said:

I think this change even tho it has good intentions is going to be very un-healthy for the the game, now hear me out before you say dumb killer main bc I play both roles, the main issues ppl have when it comes to killers are Camping/Slugging/Tunneling I think we can all agree to that, well 9/10 when ppl are complaining about said playstyle they arent using any of the perks that counter or punish said playstyle

    dont want to be slugged

    Unbreakable

    No Mither

    Soul Guard

    Expo Boon

    Dont want to be tunneled

Run breakdown and lead killer to hook dead zone

    Borrowed Time

    Off the record

    Overcome

    Decisive Strike

    New Dead hard

    Dont want to be Camped

    Reassurance

    Deliverance

You may see like 1 survivor have at least one of these perks but then they play really bad at loops and go back down, and to be honest off the record is a unfair perk, its not a anti tunnel perk, I could be cross map and they happen to run into me when im chasing someone else and they get away free bc OTR gave them a 60 second bubble.

why is it ppl refuse to run these perks and then complain about said playstyles instead of counter building?

all this change is going to do is make ppl tunnel way more often, this change is just going to make things worse not better, instead of punishing a killer for playing a certain way maybe look at why the killers feel the need to play that way to begin with could be

    Gen rushing

    Tbag Taunts

    Easy pressure

Lure survivors in for easy injures.

I think a way more healthy option would be making more perks that actually insentivise killers to go awya from hook, aka more perks that function like pop or devour or bbq, perks that actually reward you for leaving a hook bc 9/10times you hook leave to go get another survivor or patrol gens and a gen or 2 pops AND the survivor gens unhooked, instead of taking away killer tools maybe look at the state of the game and that sometimes camping is all you can do bc you're getting demolished by a swf or gen jockeys....

I dont think a anti-camp basekit is going to be it, I think ppl actually running counter perks instead of meta builds would be the thing to do....

a good change would be remove MFT, and make it basekit for when a survivor gets unhooked, like if you get unhooked and are in chase you gain 3% haste until said chase ends, can only occur after being unhooked by someone else. that would be a good change and actually let ppl get distance etc

9/10 killers dont want to camp, but when you get 3 gens popping in the first 30 seconds and you just got your first down what else do you expect us to do devs? roam the map? then still get destroyed? camping is sometimes needed in order to turn a match back around.

and I can definetly assure you we dont want to have to run meta builds or 4 gen perks just to keep up, Id love to do stupid builds but when you play killer you cant really afford to, and ppl seem to forget this is a 1 v 4 game..... killer really dosent have a advantage outside of camping he gets abused very easily by good survivors who know how to loop and use a map right.

    No.

What they are doing is well needed and as mainly-killer player it's deserved

Plus, the added bonus of being able to rescue people off the hook if their teammates wont

  • @HamsterEnjoyer said:

There was so many other options that could've been taken.

-Drones radius cant come within 5 meters of a gen (Remove drone minimum spacing and and give another drone as compensation to make her more spider like)

-Moving Drones that steer around areas (Forgot the complexities of it but someone gave a great idea for it)

Instead the best way for you guys was to give her a boring, dumbed down, uninteractive power on both ends?

The amount of problems I can list with this rework is already immense and depressing! Injured survivors truly have absolutely nothing to fear in drone areas now whereas before in chase youd get UD and always know their exact location + get a small speed boost, you can now run into a SM trapped zone worry free as you'll just get deep wound lol, Removed ALL tracking so using them smartly in chase to get reads is completely gone (Seriously why would you buff the scanner knowing she can't even use it anymore? So she can pull it up for aesthetic?), Removed manually reactivating drones because thats just far too OP somehow meaning survivors now have your power ENTIRELY in their hands and lets be real SM drones are insanely easy to avoid triggering as a surv so this just makes drones that shut off completely useless even more so because why would a survivor need to deactivate one thats shut down manually? It serves zero function AT ALL and will only hurt you in the long run while leaving SM with no power so now her drones are high risk extremely low reward, her drones only function at flat barren loops since the beams are crucial to her power walls pretty much entirely nullify her meaning she will be less than useless on indoor maps and on maps that have a lot of trees or such she'll be even more garbage, I can seriously keep going if anyone wants me to I'm just so frustrated. Third main of mine in a row that BHVR just nerfs to the ground for God knows what reason and atp I don't have anyone else in the killer side whos enjoyable or fun for me to play oh but lets leave Blight up he's perfectly fine the way he is right BHVR?

They deleted her, just in a way that means they don't have to give a refund

    Isn't this what yall wanted?

Yes, but YOUR skill doesn't matter when the other players skill can be so varied. As you said, generally unless you are a SWF of 4 COMP survivors vs. a COMP killer, then and only then does a player's individual skill matter. Plus as you said, COMP players aside, most players aren't comp. They are here to have fun and that's it... When I play, survivor or killer, I play for fun, I follow the Golden Rule (Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You) as best as I can.

So I should slug people because I like getting slugged?

  • @WiseTraveler said:

Right now survivors are using perks that improve their chase. Things like made for this, sprint burst, lithe resilience, etc. Which makes sense why would you not want to extend your chase as a survivor? The thing is survivors are given the tools to run things that prevent tunneling from happening. There are plenty of second-chance perks in the game that can protect you from being tunneled and even extend chase. Things like off the record make you silent to keep you out of the chase and disincentives chasing you after unhooks because of the lengthy endurance. Even perks like Dead Hard can protect you from being tunneled off the hook and or extend chase. So please consider putting a second chance perk inside your build because at the moment not many people are running second chances meaning tunneling is running widespread. But if everyone is running a second chance perk then killers are more unwilling to tunnel knowing they would have to invest too much into tunneling.

Yes because it's not like killers can just slap them as soon as theyre unhooked, negating all of their "2nd chance perks"

And we don't even have DS either cuz it's so useless now

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    Question is on the title.

    Survivor:

    1. No Mither = This perk has high risk but no reward for using it. Sure it has infinite UB ability but killers knows it. So you will never be slugged and easy tunnel as well.
    2. Technician = This perk supposed to help new players, there is no reason to use this perk for veteran players. New players already have problems to finish generators and this perk makes it even harder.
    3. Poised = There is not even one reason to use this perk. At least some terrible perks can shine with some builds but this perk just has no use.

    Killer:

    1. Overwhelming Presence = There is no reason to use this perk while you can use just Franklin. More effective and better. This perk should be reworked or another effect should be added.
    2. Beast of Prey = You are getting Bloodlust because you are chasing survivor. So what you are gonna do with Undetectable effect from this perk while you are already chasing survivor and they know it? This perk just does not make any sense.
    3. Furtive Chase = Same problem here. What you are gonna do with smaller TR when it's only activating after chase starts? Smaller TR and Undetectable effects are used for surprise hits. You can't surprise survivor when you are already chasing them.

Beast of prey makes it so you can fill your hunter category faster

For me, that's all I need, the easier mindgame potential is just a nice bonus

If anything, I would put territorial Imperative or predator instead of beast of prey... those are both worse 100%

  • The perk is already terrible, what you want to make it completely redundant? Its not even reliable either since the one who is injured can cleanse it just fine and even if the killer chases them the whole time, they can't down them because it'll end the effect

Not to mention you can literally spawn right next to thrill of the hunt and get it out immediately

  • @Biscuits said:

You might be new to the forums. 90% of the people on here are killer mains who will always say no to survivor buffs.

  • @crogers271 said:

Agree on the idea that being slugged in a 2 survivor left scenario sucks, but basekit unbreakable doesn't really address that. The killer could still keep you in the game to farm downs, try and hunt the hiding survivor, etc if they really want to.

Better solution is something that speeds up bleed out timers to speed up/suicide if put in that situation as others have mentioned.

People want to delete suiciding on hook and yet they also want to add another way to

With the recently announced KF3, I’d be shocked that they did not consider the potential behind the license. KF is peak body horror, even if it’s action, and now that BHVR blew their load on RE, I’d argue KF would be a perfect candidate for another video game license.

Personally, I’m sick of RE and some of the recent licenses they pulled. Something more unique like Amnesia/Killing Floor should be on the doorstep rather than possibly repeating licenses like another Stranger Things chapter or the hundredth RE chapter.

Second stranger things means they can bring the first chapter back

Wake Up only does one thing: open exit gates faster. But why would I use Wake Up when Sole Survivor lets me open exit gates even faster, repair gens faster, AND hide my aura from nearby killers?

Let Wake Up open exit gates 75% faster and have Sole Survivor get the 25% faster exit gate speed (or maybe 10% per token up to 30%).

If 75% speed doesn't allow a long enough window for the survivors aura to be shown to other survivors, then have Wake Up show the aura while within 8 meters of the exit gate switch (then you could also get some value even if someone else beats you to the switch).

Because you may not be the last survivor alive?

This is a pretty stupid comparison

    The TL;DR version is this.

Maria does not exist and was brought into existence by the Town of Silent Hill itself from James' guilt suppressed mind in the image of Mary whom James killed prior to the game.

The Longer version is this. (gonna be borrowing some text from the SH wiki.)

Maria is a manifestation, a mental construct or figment of James' seemingly delusional imagination that was brought to life by the town of Silent Hill itself, similar to how Pyramid Head was brought to life from James' guilt and desire for self-punishment for his actions, Maria was produced by James' delusions as a result of his inability to bear the weight of the crime of killing his wife, Mary prior to the start of the game. Similar to a dream character, she is seen defying death and questions James' perceptions of whether or not her death actually occurred.

She is identical to Mary both in voice and face, along with some of Mary's own memories as well since she stems from James' mind, also with the bonus campaign where you play as Maria called ''Born From A Wish'', it can be assumed that she was born from James' wish to see Mary again.

She is also arguably the primary antagonist of SIlent Hill 2, as she serves as the final boss of the game.

    Ohh, thanks for the explanation!

The main issue is Myers execution must still exist because of associated achievements... but it comes from a completely different time of the game where a Mori was just a straight up kill that had no hook requirement or a 1 hook requirement.

This makes his execution add-ons a problem, cause they are designed around a game that no longer exists. They NEED to be brought up in line with modern Moris.

I would modify his execution add-on to work something like: -

    Judith Myers Tomestone

    • After 6 hooks grants the ability to kill healthy, injured or dying Survivors while in Evil Within III.
    • Increases the amount of Evil required to reach Evil Within III for the first time by +150 % (+7.5 Stalk points).
    • Reduces the Movement speed of The Shape by -5 % while in Evil Within III.

    Tomestone Piece

    • After 6 hooks grants the ability to kill healthy, injured or dying Survivors while in Evil Within III.
    • Killing a Survivor drains the power of Evil Within III, resetting it to Evil Within II.
    • Increases the amount of Evil required to reach Evil Within III for the first time by +100 % (+ 5 Stalk points).

Differences in bold. The numbers are open to tweeks ofc, but these changes should mean: -

    1. Survivors get a better experience by making Myers play the normal game for a while to fulfil the hook requirement, while slowing down his progress to his mid/late game pressure.
    2. 6 hooks for the Judith Myers Tombstone Iri means he's already earned the victory. You took a huge slowdown, especially when combining this with the permanent tier 3 add-on, but still got great pressure and should be afforded the ability to basically clean up. As such I reduced the movement speed slowdown.
    3. 6 hooks for the Tombstone Piece means means he has got a commanding lead, and if he picks his target right he can bypass health states for a quick elimination to close it out, but he can't do it out of the gate, so removes the busted power this add on brings.
    4. Remove the hiding in lockers as "counterplay". Being forced to accept a hook because you don't want to be executed is just silly. It's only a thing because Myers is not really playing the typical game by going for executions rather than hooks, which the previous points hopefully address.
    5. Allows other buffs elsewhere in his kit because this instant execution option isn't available from very early on.
    6. Retains the ability to get the Achievement/Trophy, keeping it challenging, but also not making it a stars align pain in the ass challenge.

Everyone only has a problem with the tombstone piece, just keep the tombstone itself the same

Besides, I like the thematicness of it and whole thing that Myers just doesn't care lol, he's just a killing machine

Considering the Devs plan chapters months ahead, maybe they're going to add more maps to these new realms sometime in the future? I think the bigger issue is the BW clutter overall, and honestly, map-offerings are the least of our problems where the BW is concerned.

The number of useless add-ons, items, etc. you're forced to buy just to get the actual item or perk you want, makes zero sense. I wish they would add a "resell" option, so you could at least get your BP back for the things you didn't want to buy in the first place.

I'd prefer a way to combine them, for BP Offerings at least

That and a p10 reward to use any offerings you have on any other killer

And for survivors, any offerings and items + addons

Especially now that flashlight interactions have been removed. Instead it should do two things. Reveal the blinders aura, and reduce the blinding duration by 50%. (Recovers vision faster.) We need the accessibility option even if the nerf doesn't happen. I am tired of getting headaches occasionally from those blinds. One of my friends can't play killer without Lightborn because of the headaches caused.

    Sloppy butcher into a hex?

Sure, if it makes all survivors start injured with 30 seconds of broken

I find "Kill obsession" worse than get kills. Obsession Challenges want you to tunnel people.

How? Just equip rancor and its donezo lol

Yeah you might not have them but you could always hold out from doing it till you get enough shards for Spirit or if it's on the shrine

what killer do you think is coming for chap 30?

As much as I'd like candyman or springtrap, or heck even stranger things, all of those just seem not likely with alien coming into the game

Depends on the situation. If they've all been grouping up intentionally, then you kind of have to. I know I would. And if people are running unhookable builds, I can understand slugging then too. But if there's no reason for the killer to go around the entire map looking for survivors just to down them and bleed them out, then idk. I personally don't see any fun in that. But I'm not blaming anyone here, I'm just sharing what's not fun for me or some other people.

I mean fun is subjective, and just leaving them on the ground might be because the killer doesn't really wanna use more time hooking them, especially if there's a gen close by and provides the same amount of pressure unless they have unbreakable, or because they want them to still be able to play if they're on death hook

I would be okay with this if it had limitations.

Banning a killer only prevents the player from queueing against them twice in a row.

And only one at a time (ie no more multiple weskers in a row)
