"structures and setups" are not something survivors design in the lobby...

This is proof that advanced survivors do not find tunneling painful.
Painful...?

It's only going to get worse! DS changes aren't coming for a while and the fact it's an entire unnecessary rework doesn't help my confidence in anything at all happening to limit it.

I agree 💯! I love my anti camp/tunnel build. It helps give survivors lots of second chances.
I really hope the Decisive Strike rework will make us less reliant on anti-tunneling perks to counter the most tedious strategy to exist in the game. Reassurance is a must have with how games are these days and I get more value than I anticipate usually!

I'd still take it over the mountain of garbage perks we've had in the last few months.
They are designed to saturate the oversaturated Shrine of Secrets lmao. Literally half of them are a waste of a perk slot...

Small buff would be nice. I run it with borrowed time, reassurance, off the record and a medkit
Yeah nothing crazy, just want another perk to be viable excluding the meta.
-
@TieBreaker said:
We just need a perk that delays the notification that someone has been unhooked. I don't know why BHVR hasn't made a perk like this already.
Who knows. Would be a cool perk for sure, unless they have sight of the hook the entire time...
-
Way too many factors involved to form a conclusive opinion, main problems stemming from how absurd the matchmaking is.
-
Can't really do much. People will just afk at hooks if they don't want to play and then that will become a whole new issue.

Totally understand.
Killer for me is/was chill. I can 3/4K most matches w/o much effort. Possibly due somewhat to the timeframes and region in which I play, although I truly believe it’s because the Devs have buffed Killer immensely in the past 3 years, to the extent where players with high-K hours invested in the side are easily dominating (but many still complain). Some just can’t up their skill level, that’s understandable.
Survivor is a totally different situation, however.
I only main SoloQ, enjoy the challenge.
My SWF fam (who I Love and trust playing w) have actual fam’s of their own, and aren’t playing DBD often. So I don’t SWF often.
SoloQ is dependent on everyone as a team playing on the same page in order for anyone to escape. Unless the first chase is a 3+Gen, then it isn’t probz going to be a worthwhile match. The nerfing of Survivor perks, items, add on’s etc. has brutally ruined the SoloQ experience.
Tunneling not being fully addressed, even after Devs have repositioned their stance on the matter, and the ridiculously HIGH rate at which it occurs is just too unnecessary and unfun.
For all these reasons on both sides, and others, it’s just not a frequently enjoyable experience like it once was, and still can be.
I haven’t played regularly since early August of 2023. In these last 8 months, I’ve hopped back in for Seasonal events and New Game Modes, and quickly n easily shake off any rust, while finding the same nonsense as before; But just playing here n there every once in a while (and briefly) instead of 8+ hours daily like before, has made the game seem less aggravating. Actually seems chill this way for me.
I’ve also found my mental health has improved, and I’ve played SOOOO many other games that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!
Maybe sth like this would benefit you too, hope so!
Thought the Lights Out gamemode having its fun sucked out (due to tunneling) would've helped get the point across but, well, that seems to not be the case.

Bunch of reworks that made dead zones more prominent and mainly decreased sizes of maps is one thing. They're all over the place to be fair, as per usual.

Nancy and Huntress
-
"the best spot she's ever been in" isn't really difficult to achieve knowing how busted she was and isn't really saying anything. I still remember arguing with people about how she was apparently balanced.
"one of the better designed killers in the game rn." Let's just be for real right now and not exaggerate to make a point.
"Maybe when people get good and hop off the sm hate bandwagon they can finally have fun against her." I'm pretty good at the game and no matter how hard I try to have fun, she drains the soul out of me and escaping doesn't even feel rewarding. Tedious game with a lack of skill expression will never be fun.

That's kind of what Singularity excells at. Singularity works very well when you can constantly harass survivors without break. But picking up and hooking, gives them that break. There is a popular content creator (I won't name them because I don't want anybody to shame them), that kind of started this and made it popular but not to be a jerk but to play this killer to its full potential.
I think I went up against them one time when Singularity was still being complained about for being too weak apparently and we got steamrolled to say the least. Couldn't really do much considering it's solo queue...

Just wait until you experience the joy of hard tunneling!

Well, sure, you could, but that's part of the problem--that is, still, tunneling, which is something we want to avoid. Do they earn getting downed like an idiot? Yeah, but it still shouldn't be NECESSARY, and if you could do it when it's forced on you, you can surely just tunnel anyway on purpose. That's not ideal, I'd say.
You're not really avoiding tunneling by injuring the unhooker. You just waste their time for healing and can just carry on tunneling.
-
Basekit BT is a pretty fair mechanic, waiting it out for ten seconds really isn't that big of a deal when they spend five thinking they are invincible until reality sets in.
-
Too busy making unnecessary changes unfortunately. These number changes would definitely help steer away from the meta's popularity.
I simply cannot wait for the next meta shakeup to gut every perk because number adjustments are too difficult these days...

“What are survivors meant to do when killers are slugging for the 4K”
it’s simple. You bleed out while recovering. If you don’t want that to happen, bring perks that get you up or don’t go down. It would also be a good option to see how you could’ve played things better against that killer.
Okay so just chill there for four minutes whilst the killer is camping you (probably humping as well) or setting up a trash ambush to get their 'deserved' 4k. Got it.
What if you're not the one getting slugged and you know they are setting up an ambush? Run into the killer's arms because survivors don't deserve hatch?
The "don't go down" advice is pretty funny, thanks for the chuckle.

MMR blessed me with a Nancy that singlehandedly made a Wesker DC. She looped him for a long time without getting injured and, when she was injured, I was there with a flashbang just watching a master at work and basically time-wasting lmao. She got a flashlight save earlier on in the game which was impressive enough so, when I was pressuring the killer for the pickup of a random out in the open, this Nancy just rolled past and got the save with either a flashbang I dropped or one she made, I can't remember. I just watched her run past and it felt so good to have reliable teammates and to have helped by accident since the Wesker forgot about other players thanks to my persistence. I can't lie I was fully grinning seeing her drop that flashbang so perfectly and her spam crouching when she saw me staring. She became the babysitter and I was the damn generator jockey for a change ha ha.
I stopped playing after that because I knew DBD would punish me for escaping with some tunnel fest of a game lmao. What a game to end the day on!

Yeah, it makes sharing hard! 😑
It's still worth it, though. I really like your Nancy! It honestly looks like those cosmetic parts were meant to be one outfit! Same with Steve. Nea's jacket and plaid skirt go together surprisingly well.
Thanks! I couldn't do much else with Steve because I was expecting a character sale which would've gotten me an extra cosmetic for him but I did what I could. With Nea I tend to change up the skirts and sometimes go with the black one because I just really like the style for some reason.
-
I play Yun-Jin and Mikaela from time to time as well and I don't care about my killer cosmetics as much. I'm aware the screenshots take up a bunch of space here so these are my mains!

You can always run custom colors in your graphics software panel, change your monitor brightness setting (if that's an option), or access filters that the GPU provides automatically in the software! Helps a ton on more dim displays.

you missed the point, the point was looking at the killer weird for slugging to find the last person when the last person will sit forever hiding just for a hatch escape and not look at that weird isnt a fair take. If its not that serious why do players continue to hide even when the killer is slugging for the 4k? if its "not that serious" the reality is both sides take it serious.
No, I definitely didn't miss the point you were making. I'm asking you what survivors are meant to do when killers are slugging for the 4k which is what this discussion is about, so let's not deflect.

what about that last person hiding? why not ask if they have anything better to do? they will literally hide for hours.
What are they meant to do? Run into your Ultimate Weapon or do all the gens..?
-
So that they can sandbag you more conveniently maybe
-
If there's no form of evidence, it's very unlikely you'll get banned. It's very easy to take a screenshot of text chat and submit it with a report so it wouldn't look great if someone submitted a report just decribing stuff which could have just been copy and pasted and cannot be confirmed.
I got accused a bunch for hacking because I read some killers like a book and nothing happened to me! Some even claimed to have recorded me with extra haste as a survivor but nothing came of it because it was all false.

Another skill issue/venting thread 🤦🏽♂️ Tunneling and camping isnt a issue. Its you. Run the right perks and work on your chases. Being tunneled should be a opportunity for you to buy your team time to do gens. I play killer and survivor so i know both stories
survivors dont give a crap about tunnling you love being chased. the upset comes when they get chased or there team mate gets chased and they get clapped in less then 20 seconds and Then its a 3v1 at 4 gens. Its a skill issue. Theres never a problem when tunneling is happening when the chases are long because then its considered "fun" for the survivor. 😂
Please inform me about what the right perks are because they seem to be all very easily counterable when it comes to tunneling. Also, you do realise killers will rotate to find the weak link and then tunnel them out, something we don't have control of since MMR is tragic? If you're tunneling survivors for a long time that's a skill issue on your part.
Tunneling is a flourishing issue and it's ruining experiences like the Lights Out modifier. Preaching skill issues whilst supporting a skill issue strategy is hypocritical lmao.

They're playing against bads because it's mathematically way out of the killer's favor to have a 12-hook game. That relies entirely on survivor incompetence.
Or a killer's skill expression.

I'm hoping they make it multi use where it only deactivates after someone else has been hooked. The reactions on this forum would be hilarious.
Would suck if the person body-blocked on purpose to get use out of it but other than that I see no issues 😎

I'm pretty sure it will just be a number change (3s - 5s) or allow it to work after each unhook.
It's 100% going to be adjusted in a way that is a band-aid fix for tunneling.
I heard it's a complete rework so I have very little hope for it to even be a band-aid fix to such a prevalent strategy.

Let me know when you stop trying to appeal to emotions with cherry picking. The flaws of MMR affects both sides equally, a brand new killer player can be matched up against survivors with many hours over them and the chances of that happening is more because 4 survivors > 1 killer.
And as for the melodramatic rant about tunneling, it is a valid strategy and completely necessary in many situations. It is strategical, not emotional unlike your word choices and tone.
The amount of times I've heard that tunneling is "necessary" really takes a toll on my objectivity I cannot lie.

It's not even confirmed to be a buff and BHVR does not have the best track record with reworks right now...
-
It's probably because of how slow cosmetics are made in the first place. One FOMO cosmetic might really suit your survivor but, if it gets locked away, you're going to spend a while waiting for a decent alternative to come for that specific survivor. It's also because some people might be on holiday and they have no access to purchase the FOMO which wouldn't make sense for BHVR financially as it would lose potential customers. I guess it's nice to have but I'm not too sure to be honest.

I think there just too many bad survivors and the devs intentionally pair them up with better players( to the better player’s detriment) so they’d get carried a little and not have a horrible time.

Live trapper reaction about Eyrie of Crows
The one time you play Trapper after a while and a survivor brings Eyrie of Crows offering (I won't play Trapper for a while now):

I swear didn’t they do specific changes for trickster on controller?
Nope, they just made the blades have little to no recoil which, as a side effect, helped controller players which had more difficulty with aiming.
-
Trapper on Midwich Elementary is a pain to face and playing as Trapper on Eyrie of Crows is a pain to experience, especially if they used map offerings to get that map. I don't know why map offerings exist to be fair.
-
Weirdly enough when they were changing matchmaking to see which system was better, one of those days I had really good games where teammates knew what they were doing. Shame that matchmaking system didn't get implemented.
-
I think higher sensitivity would help with flicks for Slinger and maybe others, I play on 100% and I wish it went higher. I don't even play other games on like max sensitivity, usually like 6-7 (out of 9).

It depends. 2k can be a desperate 2k with 6 hooks or it can be a 2k with 10 hooks
Exactly. If I have to tunnel to get the 2k then I'm unsatisfied considering how mind-numbingly boring the strategy is, hence why I stray away from it when I can. Overall a 2k is a solid result paired alongside a bunch of hooks. No reason to feel unsatisfied in my opnion unless a toxic player escaped lmao.
