So the person that you've linked has done a good job protecting themselves from people pointing out that this is kind of a silly video to post as proof of anything. After all, if I explain why it's wrong, I'm just over-analysing or whatever.
Still, I'll do it anyway.
There's a couple things to keep in mind here. The biggest one is that this was strictly avoidable, this is maybe the most avoidable a scan could've been. All this Meg had to do was keep an eye on the drone's beams (or time it in their head, if they're good at that) and just stop in the the doorway for a split second. At this point Merchant's still walking around the loop, so there's plenty of time to start making distance again.
The second is that this is only an injure because Meg had already been scanned twice. If this had been a single scan I'm willing to bet it wouldn't be posted as a big gotcha, because... y'know, it's just kind of getting unlucky with your timing and getting scanned, it happens.
The third is that if Meg had been forced to take an M1 by crouching (which in this clip I don't think is likely), that still works out in her favour. A Skull Merchant who has you at two scans is going to try and get a claw trap on you, and if you force her to M1 you, that means you've wasted all the time she spent building stacks on you instead of going for an M1. Forcing the M1 hit against other killers is seen as perfectly reasonable and in your favour, it's the same for Merchant.
The fourth and final one is maybe the biggest outside of the first point listed: This loop sucks and most killers who have some kind of ranged damage would hit you anyway. This isn't Skull Merchant having no counterplay and being super unfair, even disregarding that the hit was avoidable to begin with, because this clip is really just showing that this particular pallet kind of sucks against any killer with range.
The scans lock on permanently until you get M1'd. For all we know, the Meg could've been on the gen where the stairs lead up to and ran to that loop with two lock ons from previous encounters. They can't do anything to get rid of those. Let's say she crouched at the doorway, she would still lose a ton of distance from the fact she has to guess if the beam has passed her (as it is not visible in the line form) and taking into account server lag just adds to it. Skull Merchant is a 4.6m/s killer unlike Huntress who is 4.4m/s.

I explained how its avoidable. The survivor there already had 2 stacks. So they already were building up to this hit. Yes, in that single instance, getting a single stack there was unavoidable, but that's still 1/3 of the stacks needed to get a hit.
So you're explaining that Skull Merchant just has to do that three times for a guaranteed injure or an M1? Doesn't seem to difficult.

How does crouching there do anything different other than standing still there? Its the same thing. He got the pallet stun.
But i edited my post there and it looks like he got it at the tail end and the standing still actually didn't add stacks. The problem was this:
"Also further, it looks like this guy already has 2 stacks. So this isn't a free health state, this is a "free" health state that has built up over the course of that same chase, or a previous one where they already received a few stacks. Like, this would be thinking that wesker gets a "free down" because you are fully infected. When there was obviously multiple misplays that happened that resulted in you getting fully infected."
So again, this wasn't a "free health state" this was a health state that the SM has worked on getting previously through a previous chase or earlier in the same chase.
You can remove Wesker's infection, the lock-on stays permanently until you get injured.

Breaking News: Killer uses their power to get an injury! More news at 11.
I'm asking how it's avoidable but yeah okay

@Reinami said:

I mean, that pallet is pretty garbage anyway. Just about any killer can do that.
Also, the big problem there is he could have crouched in order to avoid the stacks. So if he crouched then did the pallet stun he would have gotten away without injury.
If they crouched they would've got M1'd, as I mentioned, due ot the fact that there aren't many pallets in the area. And yes you are correct, any killer can get stunned by the weakest pallet in the game but they don't get rewarded for it.

She's been a stain on the game since day 1. And will likely never change due to BHVR being to stubborn to admit they can do better.
When her first rework was being speculated I said that the nature of her power didn't allow for proper balancing but apparently it did so here we are.

Well, thats just it. People DONT enjoy going against Skull merchant. You're not alone.
Some people claim to enjoy it but I just find it hard to believe to be honest.

literally the entire screen
That's awful, I thought you could at least see something to help navigate lmao. I'm so lucky I didn't buy Xeno because I would be sent to every swamp map possible just like when I play Trapper and get sent to Eyrie of Crows all the time.

@Yharwick said:
You think you want this but then you get swamp and can't see anything with the low PoV because the grass is taller than you and it's miserable.
Does the grass cover like your entire screen or can you still see something in the upper half?

Are there any YouTube videos out there about this?
-
It's so unfortunate that Pig getting constant nerfs was replaced now by Onryo getting all these weird reworks that miss the mark.
-
Why are Wraiths always up to something, they are so unpredictable - apart from their playstyle...
-
Weirdly some people try to justify such a thing. I didn't know what to think of it until I faced it and that's when I created a discussion regarding it because it was insane and shouldn't be a thing. They were mad I tunneled them out as if they didn't deny me two hook states (or more, I can't remember) and I was basically forced to if I wanted a chance to even get hooks.
-
As in like for a 2v8 game mode?
-
@xltechno said:
If you really don't want to waste time, you should crawl from under the pallet to under the hook.
Why are you making this out to be the survivors fault? You go under a hook and they won't care either way. You must despise survivors because every time I see you on a discussion you shift the blame on them.

Typical Wraith activities

It's the reknown MMR system in action! Seems like you're experiencing the best it has to offer.

Thank goodness. She was about to be SM tier brainless. Don't know why she's getting buffs at all.
I wish I had an actual answer but I can't even make an excuse for them lmao...

Only rightfully so because survivors don’t want to have to try against her. Still the most map dependent killer of all. They need to make it to where you can’t get indoor maps if you play her. Oh well back to tunneling and slugging on indoor maps I guess.
They are forced to try if the Huntress is actually skilled, which you're implying that you aren't. Keep doing whatever you please, just don't use it as an excuse because Huntress didn't receive her so needed buffs.
-
I was a Blight main when Dead Hard was at its peak. All I did to counter it was rush at them but, instead of attacking, I just ran into something after running past and their Dead Hard was gone. Bait swinging was also easy to pull off but apparently not to others. As a Blight you shouldn't feel like the down is a guarantee and need to take perks into account just like any other killer has to. Dead Hard was absolutely gutted and you can only use it twice now and the activation window is really short. Patience is key when dealing with it.
-
Three bottles made the add-on such a nuisance to face. I think it deserved the nerf to two bottles max so one bottle is a little overkill.

The struggle of beginner players is definitely one of the issues, yes, but Huntress is still heavily map reliant. This buff makes it so 1) Newer players have more learning room (while at the same time, veteran Huntresses won't notice too much of a difference) and 2) Huntress is now less map reliant because you can use your hatchet at more tight loops or on maps where there are a lot of obstructions.
Of course this will make her more reliable across the board, but it's a nice change considering that otherwise, a lot of the maps turn you into a slower m1 killer
The movement speed was just reverted - rightfully so.
-
I'm glad the movement speed while holding the hatchet is gone because that was just absurd. Ten hatchets with 10% faster windup time I'm not too sure about though, there'll definitely be a noticeable difference in games.
-
@PreorderBonus said:
I'm not a dev, but if I had to guess, I would say that Huntress is being buffed because she's a free Killer that new players are struggling to win with. There are undoubtedly really skilled Huntresses out there, but I believe the majority are newer players who struggle to hit more than one hatchet per reload or are just average players. I think the really god Huntresses, the top-tier ones, won't even notice the buff that much. The 10 hatchet capacity is too much though.
I used to main Huntress but had to drop her because there are more maps where she is useless than maps where she isn't. I believe the increased movement speed while holding a hatchet is reasonable because of these map issues, it will definitely reduce her reliance on specific realms.
I don't really see why this buff is so outrageous, her numbers are being increased to keep up with the current state of maps, as she is one of the most map-dependent killers. Other killers should receive a similar treatment so that you don't immediately feel powerless as soon as you load into a match and see a map that literally counters you.
Well you're literally explaining how beginners are experiencing skill issues so they should buff an A tier killer - you do realize this, right? It's like saying beginner survivors are struggling, let's buff them because some maps are killer-sided. You're not addressing the main issue of map-dependency with these changes which is what you're arguing it does.
If beginners are struggling, they better learn just like everyone else has to instead of getting things handed to them on a silver platter. If you can't put in the effort, play an easier killer.

Does this mean that the chatlog is not available to the reviewer when reporting out of post-game lobby?
It is available, it's just better if it's a hard to explain situation and makes the report more convenient to review.
-
No official announcements, but there was a survey a couple months back regarding it and if we'd be fine if we lost something in order for cross progression to happen. Hard to guess at this point when we could see it.

@Xernoton said:
You play like normal, hope the match ends quickly (which it likely will, considering that there's no shortage of people hook suiciding against her) and go next.
As for Skull Merchant:
-
You crouch walk to avoid detection or stand still when the rays are about to hit you. When it comes to chase, good luck doing that.
-
Camping at endgame is justifiable. Being hooked during endgame should feel risky and not a free escape for survivors...
-
Took a break to escape them and first game on I had one. Left a sour taste the entire gaming session yesterday. No motivation to play today.

I honestly feel like you’re not reading my replies before responding if you think that this is me being upset with being killed first. I’ve made it rather clear that tunneling is bland for the entirety of the survivors in the game, not just the person who actually got tunneled.
Player experience should be at the forefront of any game developers mind, so I also disagree with tunneling not being a big deal if it so clearly negatively affects so many people.
I doubt they do, literally seems like they copy and paste on any discussion to do with tunneling and change a few words here and there.

I want to play in these games where everyone is popping 3 gens by the end of the first chase. This just so rarely happens in my games on either side.
Also, how does this even remotely solve the problem of someone being hard tunneled from the start of the game? Everyone else just plays M1 simulator and gets out? Fun experience for everyone involved...
Tired of people acting as if all survivors are on comms and how taking a hit apparently stops the tunneling (gives the survivor like three extra seconds to make distance)...
-
I'm really not excited for the Huntress galore if the changes stay but, other than that, I'm a little excited.
-
@Crowman said:
The solution is survivors do gens while someone is being chased. Someone being tunneled out at 5 gens is the fault of the survivors, because it's already possible for 2-3 gens to be completed by the end of the first chase.
The solution for gen tunneling is to put gen pressure. Someone getting gen popped is the the fault of the killers, because it's already possible for zero gens to be completed by the end of the first chase.
You see how your argument really doesn't say anything?
-
Yeah it's really bizarre how it functions. Got a great skill check and then let go of a gen after like three seconds and I instantly failed one. You can't predict it at all which is the worst part.

But why youre cutting the screens?
Saves space in case I forget to delete it. Don't have much storage space left and I don't believe one survivor having a yellow flashlight or all of us having bloodpoint offerings makes any difference. Also, I cannot be asked to censor names out of respect sometimes so it's more convenient for me to crop and to highlight the main thing.

I'm guessing: A flashlight swf got greedy 😘
No I play solo queue and the other stuff isn't that interesting. All of my friends stopped playing since Skull Merchant's introduction so I'm stuck with whatever matchmaking throws at me.

You cannot do anything at that point unfortunately. You have to have some form of evidence and I doubt they wrote anythng self-incriminating in the endgame chat which you can always screenshot as evidence in future scenarios.

It’s extremely different from if someone typed it out. It’s a funny illustration where the person who disagrees is the center of the joke making it funny. That’s the definition of mocking.
There is no definitive center of the joke. It's just a two way argument with two people who have conflicting opinions and when the other person is asked a valid question, that person TYPICALLY has no suitable reply and this is reflected here. The jokes kind of make themselves and it's subjective. If it was the other way around, because you can argue from the different POV, it's the same thing. It's indeed a form of mockery but it's lighthearted and far from how you're describing it as scornfully contemptuous ridicule. You could reply with the same thing and you'll simply be at a stalemate and force a response with those points you wish for.

@WolfyWood said:

Instead of just saying that though and giving your points why you posted a picture mocking them. Anyone who thinks survivors are in their best state aren’t changing their mind by being made fun of..
Not really mocking in any sense, just a funny illustration of the scenario that goes on in the forums quite frequently for whatever reason. No different than if you typed it out but the OP wanted to be creative and there's no harm in that. 👍️
