  • people opposed to an ebony mori nerf by citing its ultra rarity will always be the best meme

  • this shouldn't be a problem if you aren't the sort of killer that people would want to avoid

and if you are, why should anyone care if you get games?

MLGA is used very widely right now and good killers who win often still have no trouble getting games, so supposed survivor entitlement causing people to dodge killers who beat them en masse isn't really based on anything but hot air considering this function is effectively already present and doesn't cause any issues in queues

@miaasma Gotta love the Rick and Morty watching, Sun Tzu reading, 150IQ spirit mains. I love that she's a good killer but she really needs to get that "mindgame" 4D chess ######### out of her players heads. When I play spirit I think I've 4k'd every match in red ranks, and all I have to do is phase, test for collision, and then rely on sound. If they left me I'll hear it, if they're anywhere near me I can just run around till I bump into them, usually having enough time to test the area and still move towards sound after. I play wraith the most probably, and I find it hilarious that spirit has no kind of animation for popping out of phase, it can just be done whenever. So anyone saying to just slow walk away, you won't be getting very far when I decide to just end my phase and catch you creeping out the door. Don't want her nerfed but there's also very little counterplay. Maybe literally just the removing collision detection would be alright. I also don't think anyone would really complain if the other killers were buffed to her level, which is my way of balancing stuff in other projects.

about my position too; i don't want her gutted or made to be a weaker killer, i'm glad she's strong. i just don't like why she's strong. removing collision should have been done a while ago. and weaker killers receiving buffs is also a good idea (please make bubba better he's so sad)

It's almost a role reversal beings killers are usually guessing while survivors can pan their cameras at every turn.

not really. mindgaming survivors at certain tiles is possible regardless of camera angle. the tiles that aren't mindgameable are low wall loops and infinite structures, and camera angles don't matter there

Because usually more hours equal more experience given that the people who are compared have the same learning curve, meaning they have the same iq and find solutions to their problems at the same pace.

I just used this example to show that even between experienced players there can be a complete diffrence on opinions. However it shoudln't be a problem for the experienced people to make valid arguments to counter everything that not so experienced people bring up.

Don't know how I am sniping him. Take my word for it, he doesn't need to worry i am in germany and dont have him in my crosshair.

depends on what you're doing during those hours and how you process them

there are old school players who think billy is op

hours alone aren't an indication that someone is a reliable source of information, which is why you process what they say and come to your own conclusions rather than accepting or dismissing them based on their platform

So take it from Gammalunatic with 6k hrs in the game, nurse is fine.

How many hrs do you have? Is that what it comes down to?

where did he write that a high number of hours means someone is automatically correct about something? grow up and stop sniping at people in other threads

  • she doesn't guess where you go, though. she can hear you, she can see scratch marks, and she can see your interactions with the environment (if you're injured and happen not to be running iron will, a spirit has to actively try to not properly locate you)

if it was a true guessing game for both sides, then yeah, i'd be inclined to agree that it was a mindgame, but it isn't, and people really need to stop framing spirit like using her power poses some huge risk for her. it is incredibly easy to track with her now that sounds work properly, meaning no guesswork is involved in locating survivors mid-phase. meanwhile, all the survivors are able to do is guess

being unpredictable doesn't work when the spirit has so many ways to locate you mid-phase, on top of being able to stand still until she chooses to use her power and move based on what she sees you do; the survivor has no way of knowing when she activates her power, so they have no idea when to start being unpredictable. this is why she is so strong; survivors cannot do anything but guess at what she's doing, which is why the "counterplay" to spirit is tantamount to just hoping she screws up tracking you

  • calling someone's opinions or advice worthless because they're a streamer or a youtuber is no better than treating everything they say as gospel

Clearly you don't know what a mindgame is.

If you have enough information to deduce the correct course of action then it isn't a mindgame, the entire point of a mindgame is that you are predicting a prediction. If you are bad at mindgames this leads to a 50/50. If you are good at mindgames then you will do better than random chance.

    no

a mindgame involves removing cues for both parties. it involves a risk for both sides. when you mindgame someone, you risk losing out on the mindgame because you yourself cannot know what the other party is doing

spirit interactions are not risky for the spirit, and they are entirely guessing games for the survivor. this is why spirit has nothing to do with mindgames. spirit has cues, audio/visual hints as to where the survivor is going. the survivor has no input; the survivor has no counterplay

i just want to slap and shake every single person who insists that spirit has anything to do with "mindgames". huntress has to do with mindgames. will she wind up at the pallet? if she does and the survivor drops it, she gets a hit. if she does and the survivor doesn't drop it, she loses distance and the survivor gets another loop. that's a mindgame

moonwalking a high wall pallet loop is a mindgame. the survivor might fall for it, or they might read you correctly. the point is you don't know what they're going to do; you're not reacting, you're taking a chance that your mindgame will pay off

spirit does none of this. spirit has no counterplay

  • i only complain about a game that i currently play because i want it to improve and be as good as it can be

  • don't do it. farming is really boring. most people would rather just play the game

  • can confirm that enduring feels like ######### now

  • enduring does feel substantially slower than it used to. people who normally wouldn't make it to another tile after i eat a stun are now doing so and it makes it feel pointless to run

this runs alongside a frequent frustration i have with BHVR: why do you guys insist on fixing things that aren't broken? enduring was fine before. if it's interacting with a specific perk (like DS, or head on), and it shouldn't be, then prevent it from interacting with those perks and fix them accordingly. i don't understand why you decided to touch how it interacted with pallets. it's made playing m1 killers rather miserable lately

  • idk what you mean

That's what I was referring to; in that case you should walk one way slowly and then it's a game of 'did they see me change direction' if you then change direction when you think they should have actually phased. I get that it's difficult, but it's definitely doable - just takes a lot of learning.

all it takes is the spirit screwing up, that's the core problem

  • the main issue with discussions regarding spirit is their propensity to describe her playstyle as having to do with "mindgames", the problem being that there's no mindgame because the survivor can't know what you're doing ever and spirit knows where the survivor is all the time thanks to visual and audio tells. spirit's playstyle is a guessing game for the survivor, and a reaction for the spirit

  • she does need counterplay but good luck convincing the masses of spirit mains on this forum of that

they'll just tell you to run iron wi- oh, already happened, nevermind

  • they give effectively nothing. they should really be upgraded

the fact that hitting chainsaws with billy is worth like 30k but using a mori is 60k is patently absurd too

  • always farm everyone immediately

  • i know sprint burst can cause it but none of the people i got false saws on tonight had it. mostly it was people running directly straight and not trying to dodge the saw at all (aka people who deserve to be hit the most, which makes it extra frustrating)

i don't mind losing time if i legitimately whiff because that's just me sucking butts, but a false saw is like, i earned that down and got robbed from it. very sad

spirit fury feels excessive on billy for me but i don't blame people for using it

I just think it's weird that rather than reworking her core problem (maps +loop structures) they went with a lullaby buff?

band-aid fixes are easier than fixing fundamental problems with the game

  • @Acromio said:

It does have a downside: you have to play a mediocre killer in order to use it.

i just lost all motor function

  • @[Deleted User] said:

To me, the issue is map size and map pressure (or lack thereof) often determining outcomes. Yes, generators get done too fast, but that's a symptom of maps and killer imbalance to me. I actually think the length of the trial is fine, it's just that the experience with, say, Hag will be wildly different than Leatherface's assuming all else is equal.

pretty much. map setups currently allow really bad survivors to run you for entirely too long

  • can we get an offering that makes the survivors dumber

can we get an offering that makes the survivors spawn in on hooks

  • i don't think it's unfair per se, i just don't think it's a healthy perk to run

it's not the kind of thing i think should be promoted in this game, similarly to old DS or MoM

  • i'm very certain you're a troll by this point, placing everyone into a category of survivor or killer in this super weird cringy way and thinking that everyone who says they "play both sides" is a survivor main in both sides' clothing

either way, not really much else to be discussed with somebody who thoroughly buys into a partisan ideology regarding a video game but then feels fit to discuss balance ever despite their own admission that their point of view is inherently unbalanced

  • @ArecBalrin said:

Anybody saying 'I play both sides' and also 'killers just want to 4k' and other survivor-meme nonsense like it, is a survivor-main. The point is that their declaration is meaningless and the fact they think it matters is what outs them as a survivor-main.

Many people, practically everyone, plays both sides: only survivor-mains needs to assert it though.

i can't believe you can type nonsense like this and not realize how much it outs your killer bias, but i also can

the only reason anyone feels the need to point it out on this forum, specifically, is because people get accused of being survivor mains when they don't

  • @ArecBalrin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567566#Comment_567566

It needs to be explained because you invented it and super-imposed it over the explanation given by every single person ever who has said 'I play both sides'.

it doesn't. there's no other reason to point out that you play both sides. you are just being pedantic by saying this, which undermines any point you were trying to make to begin with

not that it needed much undermining

  • @Neprašheart said:

It doesn't need any downside, that's simply how it has been meant to be designed and implemented.

If you're having any prob. with that, then you should watch the environment more carefully. The grass, the plants, the crows, (...), all of those are indicators of her position.

Okay, let's rework it, but allow Rin to be able to walk through walls then.

she doesn't actually move any of those things in her power

moreover, sometimes those things aren't around you (think generators in buildings) and her footsteps aren't audible enough to where you can react before she gets a free hit on you if not a grab

flaccid attempts to defend an obviously broken addon like these don't help your position

  • revert the change made to it

originally it just lowered the phasing sound, but then they changed it so it removed the phasing sound entirely

maybe give it something else like increased phasing speed alongside it if that's not strong enough for a very rare addon

I missed the point because the point is absurd and no reasonable person can be expected to get it. This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone believing that 'playing both sides' means there is no preference for either role. The reality is that killer-preferring players still play survivor and survivor-preferring players sometimes go killer; is there an alternative way of describing these people without confusing them with your unique definition of 'plays both sides'?

literally the whole point of saying you play both sides is to indicate that you understand both sides from playing them extensively

playing mostly killer with a little survivor (as well as the opposite) doesn't fit that description. you still main one side, even if you play a bit of the other

can't believe this needs to be explained to someone

  • @Orion said:

The majority of players do actually play both sides.

not to the extent that it matters

if you main killer and occasionally queue survivor to play blendette you're still a killer main

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567521#Comment_567521

I have never accused anyone of bias: that's also a survivor-meme.

You also didn't bother reading the post you're responding to. Most people play both roles, but only survivor-mains have a need to let everyone know they do, for the reasons I've outlined.

people who "play both sides" indicate that they do so in order to communicate that they don't main either side, so you missed the point of my reply

your next post is just as laughable, honestly. somehow survivors are the only ones not concerned with fairness while killers are egalitarian saints

    just more to cringe over

I won't dispute this, just your framing of it: killer-mains do not need to say that they are killer-mains. Some have and I'd ask them: 'what was the point of that?', because they don't need to.

Survivors-mains need to because they're obsessed with status and they assume people who are very different in terms of personality are actually like them. They want others to believe what they say 'as a killer-main' or 'I play both sides' because they want to avoid discussing details; they want others to just take them at their word.

Killers do not need to do this because when you play as a killer you're managing your stress whilst making fact-based decisions which create that stress. Killers are resilliant, ponderous and detail-driven; spinning several plates mentally whilst not losing focus on priorities. If you're able to follow an argument, what someone has actually said and cross-reference it, you don't need to tell anyone you can be trusted because you are are whatever label. No one can direct a doubt that is legitimate at a killer which the killer hasn't already themselves considered.

    i visibly cringed reading this

your borderline martyrdom of killer mains while assigning survivor bias to anyone who does play both sides betrays your own killer bias

lots of people do not play both sides, which is painfully obvious reading people's posts on this forum. and even less people play both sides extensively
