No doubt, one of the worst. My issue lies with the lack of agency survivors have during Frenzy and the Deep Wound status effect as a whole. During Frenzy, you essentially hope the Legion messes up. Meanwhile, Deep Wound is the worst mechanic in DbD in my opinion. You have an extremely annoying screen darkening effect and the only way to resolve it is to stop playing the game to hold a button for a length of time. It's not interactive at all and prolongs the game, usually without any means of prevention on the part of the survivor.
i dont play survivor or legion, what does deep wound do

Please, your anecdotal points you've collected mean nothing outside of your bubble.
Pretty sure you dont know what anecdotal is. Its not a bubble its the whole community. Thats why theres the survivors rulebook joke because its such a common occurrence that survivors feel entitled to how the killer should play. I dont know whats more cringeworthy your replys or your name.

Why would it be rhetorical just because you have more post then me? If you consider 1 survivor getting a hatch off a dc'ing survivor while the killer get a 3k a win for survivors than i got bad news for you chump lol

If this is an exploit then so is camping, you can’t take away one without dealing with the other, you already get a dc ban if u disconnect from a game, and you get no blood points and depip honestly if the devs deal with this then to balance it out they need to deal with camping
devs had already said and this has been pointed out many times but they said camping is a legitimate play-style while dc'ing for hatch is literally abusing the fact that you can dc to let your friends/teammates get the hatch

If or when they down the last survivor you mean. Which could be 2-3 minutes later.
The hatch mechanic is crap but I'm not going to spend 3 minutes on the floor so the killer benefits from it.
i mean this just speaks more about you then anything i feel. Your name is i teabag at gate,you dc for your friends in a swf, you can't let a killer win by playing well you have to dc to let others have a chance

Please put aside the semantics of my metaphor and focus on the substance of what I am saying, with regards to how the red mori deletes 1/3 of the objectives that the killer must fulfill. I have already described an equivalent survivor goal comparison.
i already did focus on the substance of this post with my first reply. It was just really bugging me that you keep saying moving the goal post when you were not using it correctly

You've said it yourself. Survivors being knocked are meant to be picked up by the killer or their team.
Killers who slug for hatch aren't doi h it for this.
They are slugging so hatch doesn't open. They have no intention of picking them up. If they get saved, they'll just down them again and repeat until they bleed out on the floor.
"Killers who slug for hatch aren't doi h it for this."
they are they are just waiting to pick you up because they don't want the last survivors to win because of a coin flip(aka hatch spawn)'
"They are slugging so hatch doesn't open. They have no intention of picking them up"
they are slugging so hatch doesn't open yes but after they down the last survivor they go and pick everyone up for the stacks/points ive only let people bleed out if they are bming me

@Rydog said:

The intended game flow is that survivors must repair five of the seven generators on the map and then open an exit gate to leave, while the killer must injure and hook them with the goal of progressing them through three hook states apiece, ending in sacrifice. The red mori deletes four of the 12 hook states present in any match. That is a severe moving of goalposts. It would be the equivalent of telling survivors that they only had to repair three generators + open the gate (i.e. only 4 of their 6 goals, or 2/3 of the intended total).
Also, I'm not interested in your personal Bloodpoint situation, the point I'm making is that it negatively impacts the killer's BP earnings, not to mention their potential for endgame emblems + rank. Regardless of how you personally feel about any of that (BP, emblems, or rank), the mori impacts those mechanics negatively for the killer who uses them. That's the point I'm making, is that it has a net negative impact on all sides. That isn't a good game mechanic.
this is triggering me so i gotta say it. just look up the definition of moving the goal posts its a metaphor for changing the end goals aka i got to finish 5 gens but then that is not accomplished so its now i got to find the hatch that is what changing the goal posts . Killers goal is always to kill survivors by hooking, a mori just speeds that up but the goal of killing the survivors is not changed only speed up
Moving the goalposts. Moving the goalposts (or shifting the goalposts) is a metaphor, derived from goal-based sports, that means to change the criterion (goal) of a process or competition while it is still in progress, in such a way that the new goal offers one side an advantage or disadvantage.
-
@I_Teabag_Gate said:
When are they going to address the Slug to prevent hatch opening exploit?
Now I'm not encouraging or endorsing this behaviour or anything but my SWF will always DC if the killer tries this. I'm not going to lay around for 3 minutes so you can ensure your 4k.
The issue is the mechanic. It needs to be changed. Give survivors a bleed out option and change the endgame so it's not a race for hatch.
slugging is not an exploit. Slugging counter plays certain perks/play styles. what is slugging abusing? the intended purpose of a survivor falling on the floor is to wait to get saved or to get picked up
-
do you get anything for finishing this exam i heard some streamers talking about it but thats it
-
"Can you please address the sanctioned griefing mechanic that is the Memento Mori?"
just because someone kills you with a mori does not mean its griefing like grow up
"It moves the game's goalposts like no other mechanic in DBD"
the goal posts are not moved since the end result is killer the survivors. Moving the goal post is when your objective is to finish gens to win but then you cant do that so your new method of winning is finding a hatch. that would be a example of moving the goal post.
" it takes Bloodpoint-earning opportunities away from killers"
ive never had a real bloodpoint issue with killers even if i use a red mori im still getting 30000+ with bbq
" Why do you believe they are enjoyable, or what do they add to the game?"
keys, moris, certain perks, window spawns etc etc all of these are in the game for better of for worse all you can hope is that they nerf them but i doubt they will remove them.
Personally i love moris( i know they are op) the fact that i can slow down the game and make it 3 survivors when ever i want is fun for me also i sometime i will bring a green/red one into a match and wont use it until i see some survivors bming
-
https://clips.twitch.tv/GoldenSplendidBottleCmonBruh
thats the clip for anyone interested. Also is this punishable? other than the 5 mins time out since they are abusing a aspect of the game to win?

A husk is the outer layer of something, usually a living thing. In this case, survivors (the players) would leave, but the characters would stay behind - alive, technically, but they wouldn't move or anything.
@YaiPa said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1344548#Comment_1344548
when a survivor DCs killer can still interact with his body, meaning he can take the bbq stack, or pop, hence by DCing you wouldn't insta die, opening the hatch, but you should be hooked and sacrificed in order to.
cool thanks for clearing that up for me😀
@LALYTHIA said:
The people who DC to give someone else the hatch are punished. They receive a temporary ban penalty and no points for the entire match they played.
yeah but i would like to see a feature (like this husk thing) put in that would stop this exploit before it becomes a factor to the in game match.
-
@YaiPa said:
they told me (just check the thread) in December that the survivors husks (which would solve the problem) after DC will eventually be implemented (when? that's a whole different story):
This is a planned part of the disconnect handling system, which we are planning on testing soon. The husks are not in the first version, but are still planned to come further on down the line.
i may be stupid but what does it mean that a survivor husks?
-
the devs haven't said anything in detail about the new mechanic that slows down early game as of yet. It just happens sometimes survivors can finish gens like nothing. I made a post yesterday about a gen getting finished in the first 17 seconds of the game and there was tons of survivors saying that it was fair and nothing is wrong with it. But despite all that we just have to wait till the devs spill the beans on this new feature.
-
i feel you. play good/bad/fair/scummy most games you still fave toxicity as a killer. I hope you still play the game and manage to have fun.
-
just from personal experience ive never had the game crash on me so its hard at least for me to see this happening all the time to equal the longer ban times also im almost certain the ban time gets reset i forgot how long but i think it was a week or a month and it resets
-
i would just invest in a Ethernet cable they arent that much and provide more stable connection but it could also be that your internet isnt that fast in the first place
-
they should make it so your m1 doesnt collide with hooked survivors

All 4 Survivors sacrificing huge portions of their kit in order to complete that 20% of their objective 12 effective seconds faster than normal (or 3 literal second faster).
Do remember that Survivors do their objective the fastest at the beginning with the reverse being the case for the Killer. So while the Killer completing 20% of his objective (which would be about 2-3 downs btw) in the first 20 seconds almost never happens, the Killer completing 20% of his objective in the FINAL 20 seconds happens all the time.
So completing a generator in 17 seconds if balanced because it will be the fastest gen they will ever complete that game by far, and by doing so they have hurt their ability to Survive chases, heal, hide from the Killer ect due to losing out on opportunity cost when they did that, meaning that those other gens will take even longer to complete compared to if they had just played normally to begin with.
Like, after a Killer gets their first hook, the repair speed of the Survivors is practically cut in half for as long as they can maintain momentum.
The REAL issue with this only pops up when the Survivors are spread out. If the first Survivor found is decent in a chase then it's not too hard to stall for 20 seconds (which works out to 60 effective seconds of progress) and then 3 gens pop a few seconds after that first hook and the Killer goes on reddit to complain about it.
But that's saying Survivors getting so much progress so quickly with no particular perks required is a problem. What happened here isn't even close to that and the issue I brought up above wouldn't even really be solved by toolbox nerfs or whatever and could potentially not even be a problem in the first place (due to the snowball thing I brought up), especially when you take into account Killer powers (most of them anyways).
"All 4 Survivors sacrificing huge portions of their kit in order to complete that 20% of their objective 12 effective seconds faster than normal (or 3 literal second faster)."
how would you describe "huge portions" because all they did was all bring toolboxes with add ons i wouldn't say that is huge and out of them all only one of them had prove thyself the rest of their perks are meta perks so they didnt really change or sacrifice their builds to finish a gen so quick.

The facts I see in this video is that even with that insane amount of ressource to get the first Gen done as fast as possible, the Killer won with 3 Gens to go.
But yeah, lets just ignore that. Of course, you are right, every Gen is the same. All Gens together only take 85 seconds, completely agree. You are 100% correct on that.
Oh, btw., a 100 year old person, every 20 years of their live are the same, correct? Because, math. You know.
"a 100 year old person, every 20 years of their live are the same, correct? Because, math. You know" thats not what hes saying hes saying 1/5th equals 20 percent thats math a fact you're bring up someones life experience in form of someones 100 year life every 20 is different which has nothing to do with math......also the point i quoted has nothing to do with math but him saying 1/5 is 20% is math if you cant understand that we cant help you

These are all salient points. But that's the thing: survivor mains like winning so they're going to say whatever it takes to keep the gravy train going. Whining survs is why Legion was nerfed into the dirt and now universally ranked among the weakest/least fun killers. Meanwhile devs pretend there aren't dedicated killers and survivors at all (I played killer and only played survivor to boost my self esteem back up after going on droughts after my peeps left the game).
lol i had to look up what salient was. i thought you were talking ######### at first.

@caz_ said:
i keep listening and reading about Killer mains saying Survivors have to many second chance perks, that everyone use only meta perks. but i also read and listen to them saying "nerf this and that perk" example Mettle of Man.
When mettle of man came out for the first time it was Broken af but after the first nerf it was pretty good but somehow killer mains still complained about how broken it still was when you needed 3 unhooks to get that perk activated.
now i listen to people saying the upcomming perk is to strong for the new survivor what will give you the BT effect and they again ask for a nerf. now the real question is.. are you really sick of people using only DS,Adren,BT or do you just want them to use these perk? if you really want them to use something different why you want everything to get nerfed? that is not how it works. you cant ask all the time for a nerf and then complain about "every survivor use the same build" well maybe because of that reason?
Anyways i took a look ingame to the perks of survivors and i saw exactly 20 useful perks you could use in rank1 against rank 1 killers.
then i went to killer perks to see how many useful perks killers have and i count 36 + all different killers you can play + synergy of some builds.
for survivors you dont have the choice if you wanna win. means no meme builds. with the +50survivor perks you can maybe do 3-4 synergized perk builds what will help you to win.
now here are the perks if you're intersted on my list.
Survivor

Now the question here is do you really want people to use perks like Streetwise, Vigil, Autoditact (what is never working because of RNG) or lightweight? or do you really want to ask all the time for a nerf for a good perk so survivors are forced to use the Meta to have a chance or fun in a game?
Killer mains need to stop with thinking every game is against a SWF. you maybe wont belive it but there also people like me who play solo, or duo. so do everyone a favor and stop asking for a nerf and maybe ask for a buff for the bad survivor perks and maybe people start using them? i guess that is enough ranting against the MAIN player.
maybe change your mind and try the opposite side? you'll get more understanding about everything.
this isnt even a fair comparison. Its just youre opinion on these perks. Theres a ton of killer perks that i would just get rid of on that list and some survivor perks i would add to the list. If made a meta red rank killer perk list it would include nurses,bbq,corrupt,discordance,enduring,devour hope,noed,ruin,infectious,make your choice,monitor and abuse, sloppy,pwyf,pop,save the best,whispers.tremors

Trail of Torment
After kicking a generator gain undetectable for 10/20/30 seconds
no cooldown

In no world is 17 seconds balanced for finishing a gen and i can't believe people are defending it. Otz had corrupted on which is supposed to help slow down early game gen progression and they still did it in 17 seconds. Also people saying to apply pressure unironically it was the first 17 seconds as a killer he has to FIND THE SURVIVORS first.
