Unfortunately DCs are still quite common. Thankfully less so in my experience since the penaltys got re-enabled.
People will DC for any reason, you can´t stop them. It´s a shame, matches should be played out till the end. I think something should be done to prevent hook suicides, too, but I´m not sure what it would be.
I´m sorry you had such bad matches tonight, hope it gets better soon!
Aw, thank you! You've been nothing but lovely on these forums (I sound like a grandma, but whatever haha!) and I hope the same for you and everyone else :)! The patch has been glitchy, too, so maybe it's just an influx from technical problems. And an interesting idea, but I hope the ones who suicide on hook know that it's better to stick it out! So until they either pack kindred or have the power of cows' numbers, I hope they dominate those hooks >:))
-
I enjoy solo q a lot! Sure, you get some toxic teammates and killers on occasion, but I just played hide and seek with huntress at yamaoka and it's moments like those that keep me going :)!
-
I'm so glad to hear that! We all have bad matches, and sometimes we give into temptation and do things we hate in our matches, but at the end of the day it's a game! So as long as we're all having fun then I'm happy. Good luck in your future matches and have a great time :)!

I'm wondering if it's the console players running into the terrible frame rates people have been complaining about on the forum.
I'm on console and haven't seen much go wrong except for Ghostface losing his, well, face at mid animation! Also, the most of them have either been PC or ps4 because their names had the little symbol next to it (can you tell I'm new to gaming since I don't know the word lol)

I like the feeling of dread and urgency once I realise the Killer has gotten Devour Hope stacked to 3. Makes the game that much more tense immediately^^
I also like Head On and Pebble, just because it´s so funny and unexpected most of the time :D
Devour Hope is another favorite of mine! When you're working on a gen and you hear that sound (you know the one) and the exposed status shows up, I'm running to my locker! Pebble is extra fun when you see them throw it in front of you and ur just like 'really?' lol :)!

But seriously, We'll Make It is still way too infrequently used, so seeing it makes me go: "Nice.".
I always bring kindred because of solo q, and BT is amazing! I agree, We'll Make It is such a great perk but it's hard to use with survivors that don't let you heal them lol!

Even though his power relies on the survivor making a mistake? A good survivor WILL be able to dodge his attack because of his big red light on the ground.
I always mess up because I look behind and then run into a tree lol :)!
-
Me logging in at lightning speed in hopes of getting cells before BHVR fixes it
-
We'll make it is a great perk, but sometimes you get teammates in solo q that have no plans to heal you and then you just gotta bring slef care or hope that the killer doesn't have franklin's. It's unfortunate, but now every killer is bringing nurse's calling so either way you'll have to run far and depending on the perk rank you might not make it in time.
-
One of my favorite toxic matches with doctor was when we all got slugged and I was the last hooked, and the doctor ran around me spamming his shocks and nodding his head as I struggled. Worst match against him so far, but I couldn't stop laughing :)!
-
Ohhh I hate when I get teammates that provoke the killer. I usually teabag or wave to be friendly (when I know it doesn't seem like I'm being rude) and nod my head. But I had some teammates that went out of their way to upset the killer and it annoys me. It's not productive for the team and it's a horrible mentality to have imo. Like yeah, it's fun to win, but I'd rather win without making the person playing upset. I hate slugging and camping, but I've had those moments as killer where I desperately want to do it, but then I remember how awful my games are when it happens to me. Either way, good luck in future matches and have fun! I hope you don't get too many cocky survivors, haha :)!
-
I don't main as killer, but I adore teabagging and nodding with survivors if they aren't being aggressive and cocky! I've had fun matches, but I despise they players that bully me for attention with flashlights to show off their moves that I'm sure any red rank killer is constantly anticipating lol!
-
Oh, I have a smurf account for playing with friends because I don't want it to effect the rankings of my teammates, but we always play fair and it erases the worry of losing a rank when having fun. Also, I prefer sacrificing myself to the new players on a smurf since then I can give them a pip and not stress over how well I played. I did it for the nurse a few weeks ago as Nea and she seemed to hesitate and my heart broke omg <3 it was so cute but I made her hook me during EGC lol! TL;DR I have a smurf for giving new killers pips without getting my ranks messy
-
vommy mommy is perfect >:((
-
Not well-- I have had matches where I'm on a team with all green/brown ranks who aren't willing to risk enough in the games. My worst match to date was when I was rank 7 a few months ago and died on my first hook by a proxy camping legion and my teammates were all crouching by the hook trying to figure out what to do. They were all brown ranks, and I was so annoyed. They didn't do anything wrong, I'm not mad at them, I just wish the game could put me with fellow purple/red ranks in matches. It's not happening as often, but since the reset on the 13th I've been matched with pretty low ranks.
-
I don't play as her, but as a survivor that dreads matches against her, here are some moves I have seen: Blinking between the pallet faster than we can vault, mind gaming a blink, and if they vault a window blink through the window and back again, since most survivors will turn back if they see you are on their trail! Good luck, and I hope you have fun learning her moves :)!
-
Hello!! I'm sorry to hear that happened, facing the Spirit once is enough for me lol. Unfortunately, a lot of the Spirits I faced used that add on to see blood when phasing, and no mither is a tough perk to use with her. My usual advice for matches is to carry urban evasion (without NM) and to stealthily go around the map. And don't fall for the mind games! You can usually hear that wind sound when she's spirit walking, so stay sharp and I hope you have good headphones. I hope this helped-- I'm not an amazing player, but I've survived a good number of matches with Spirit and these perks really helped me in getting out alive! Good luck in future matches and I hope they are more fun :)!
-
I'd say it takes luck at times, but pay attention to their judgement attacks that light up on the way! And if you hear him ready that ish, swerve a lot!! That has saved me numerous times! In fact, I think I clipped a game where I evaded it twice super close to him, although I got downed in the end from a basic attack haha! Also, careful with pallets, I'd say faking a vault is a great bet-- maybe do a slow one if you see they're readying that long range one. Don't get distracted by the thickness, either, he's evil :( Good luck in your next match and I hope it's fun :)!!

it's not even about people playing scummy...
It seems to be solely the following logic:
People believe Deathslinger has no counterplay and is thus unbeatable -> people who play him must be scummy and don't want other to have fun -> people who like him are bad, no matter why they like him
As for examples: just look at about every response to a tweet/post/etc by the devs, how many calls for Caleb's removal you get and how harsh these get when someone says he's fine/not as bad.
oh wow. I think he has a good number of counters, and it's especially easier to gather your surroundings to keep him from reeling you in. That's too bad-- He's got such a cool backstory and his game play makes matches more... threatening, haha! Oh well, I hope people leave players alone, it's upsetting to see such negativity. I've had moments where I get nervous when I play against Bubba, but I've met some kind, non camping ones who also don't spam the chainsaw, which I find to be fun!
-
It's a virtual cowboy??? People need to calm down. And why would you hate the character and not the person being scummy?? I've had some awesome Claudette teammates recently, and Deathslinger is actually super fun to play against! I once had a teammate in green ranks while the rest of us were red ranks, Deathslinger gave them hatch after I died. I was happy he let them get those points <3!
-
I don't think OP meant that these statistics were super reliable in any arguments, I think it's more the surprising amount between the two. Yes, a lot of killers get at least one kill per match, that's the point of the game, but it's interesting to see the numbers! That's a lot of deaths, be it from moris, hooks, or even the EGC. I won't use it in an argument, but I think it's kinda funny!
-
I've played as killer a few times and I always catch up to the survivors at some point. Many walking speeds of the killers are like 30% faster than survivors, and theyre bound to mess up and get hit at some point. I'd recommend using sloppy butcher or hemorrhaged, since it slows healing a good amount!
-
I adore urban evasion, it's great because I can go faster while avoiding traps and everything, it's awesome! Also fun for when you befriend your local ghostface and crouch walk around with them lol :)

I’m a killer main, I’d rather lose by playing fair rather than being cheap and face camping, tunneling, ect.
As a survivor I don’t usually use too many sweat perks or t bag. I don’t like giving killers a reason to be toxic to me.
I’ve had to turn my messages off recently because I’ve been getting very toxic messages every game (as both killer and survivor!) Even though I feel I play pretty nice. I’ll give survivors hatch or even let killers who “lost” kill me.
OMG!! I do the same thing, but I turned off the ability to message me because I'm horrified of getting death threats lol! Also, I love your username, GF is hella fine <3! Good luck in your future matches, and I hope they are more fun than your recent ones :)!

Ver chase the unhooked and always let the last survivor out.
That last one is just because it always comes around. I had a Killer remember me once so he let me live to repay the favor.
What a lovely thing to do!! Even when I die, sometimes I spectate and laugh my arse off when the killer and survivor become friends and just look for the hatch or play around! Good luck in future matches and have fun :)!

U feel bad when a survivor dies on the hook but do u also feel bad when the killer gets zero kills?
U feel bad for survivors becuz u are survivor main, but do u also feel bad for killers? When the exit gates are open, and all 4 of u are at the gate, do u ever return to the killer to give him a free kill? Becuz u felt bad for him?
Well actually yes, I do. I always leave my items with them if they played well and got some kills in, and if they had a hard time I almost always wave at them to kill me, and if they're stubborn I let the EGC take me. I appreciate good killers, and I want everyone to have a good time. That's why I made this post-- I appreciate the people that do stuff like that, and I wouldn't make a post saying this stuff if I didn't go through with these actions. The last thing I want to do is make someone's experience awful. I'm not going to lie and say I've never teabagged, but I reserve those butt dances for those blissful escapes from very skilled killers. All in all, if I think you deserve the points, you're more than welcome to have them! So yeah, I hope I still don't seem super entitled, I genuinely care about how the other players feel, no matter what side they're on :)!
-
I'm sorry that happened! I would have argued for you, but I am a console player lol! Good luck in future matches and I hope that they are more fun than this one :)!

Playing as ghostface and teabagging with survivors. And also spinning around as vommy mommy by the exit gates with survivors! I can't bring myself to kill them, especially if they were playing well!

I don't play fairly with survivors who t bag, flashlight clickers, just survivors who are annoying and likes to annoy the killer. Therefore, I always tunnel, I always use NOED and other unfair perks.
In my opinion, players who do those things are being really rude. There's nothing wrong with NOED either, I use it as killer in case someone is AFK and needs to go to the gate, but then again I'm a bit of a baby lol. I enjoy NOED and DH matches a lot, I just don't think it's fun to get slugged and face camped, that's all. So I appreciate players who don't constantly blind the killer if they aren't saving anyone, teabagging to provoke the killer, clicking your flashlight to mock the killer, and I also appreciate killers that don't face camp and slug and endlessly tunnel one person. That's all. Good luck in future matches and have fun!!

I used to do it because I genuinely cared about other players' fun.
Now I do it so I don't get bitched at in the post-game chat.
Of course, I still get bitched at in the post-game chat anyways.
I'm sorry to hear that. I appreciate it when people play this way because it's just a nice gesture, and anyone who takes the time to say rude things over a game should keep quiet. I've had those matches where I'm stressed and just done with dbd, but then I get those awesome teammates and skilled killers that use interesting tactics and it reminds me of those great moments! If there's nobody thanking you for your play style, remember that I appreciate it a lot and so do many people in this thread! Good luck in future matches and have fun, mr. pyramid head :)!

U playing killer on occasion means u haven't really experienced killer.
U are a entitled survivor main who needs a awakening.
U getting face camped, slugged, and tunneled, is what's supposed to be happening in games like this.
U have the perks that can somewhat counter all of these, but u probably don't run it. Becuz u want to run other perks and expect the killer not to camp, not to slug, not to tunnel. This is a entitlement mentality.
I know this is hard to believe, but in PvP games, the goal is make ur opponents life miserable as possible by harassing ur opponent. This is not being unfair, this is not unsportsmanship, it's how PvP games are.
Find out what annoys u when u play survivor, and do exactly that and more when ur playing killer, and vice versa.
I just don't really like that mentality, but to each their own I suppose! I don't play killer as much because I feel bad when someone dies on a hook, but I guess in that regard I'm not really fit to play this game. I don't complain if I lose as killer though, I just have fun running around the map and destroying pallets haha! I'm sorry to have sounded entitled, I guess I should accept the fact that not every game is going to be fun. I don't have DS or unbreakable because I don't want to purchase Laurie and I haven't leveled up Bill yet, but I'll take your advice and either drop the game or just get used to matches like that. And I hope I don't sound sarcastic or rude in that statement, I just don't want to be another annoying person that wants things their way all the time. Either way, good luck in future matches!
-
I really think self care comes in handy for solo plays, since a lot of killers bring FD, so if i bring a med kit and get hit with that I'd have to rely on finding a teammate willing to heal me rather than hiding and using SC. I've had amazing teammates in the past, but there are some who don't want to heal or don't even bother with the unhooks (not that there's a perk for the unhooking part, but self care is awesome if you need a heal when you have nobody)
-
That mighty blue beefcake would snap her in half bruh
-
Oh wow that's really mean of them. I'm sorry that happened to you recently. I don't like when people take the time to wait until the game is over to leave a 'constructive' message, no matter what side they play on. I had a survivor spam unhooking me for a minute straight before teabagging and leaving me to die... on my first hook. I've seen the toxicity against killers, too-- I was in a nice guy's stream and, since I play on console, I didn't have an end game chat (although i found his twitch and told him it was a great match and that i loved the video!) but my teammate called him a certain slur starting with an 'f' and ending with a 't' which I found especially cruel. I don't like that attitude, and I'm sorry you're having so many bad run ins with this stuff. All I can say is thank you for being considerate and good luck in future matches, make sure to have fun, too :)!
-
I only play as pink tennis meg!! It's the closest to my actual outfits irl (until Meg gets a cuter top lol)
I ADORE THE BLIGHT'S PARK LANE ARISTOCRAT FIT IT'S SNAZZY, IT'S GOT RUSTED SYRINGES, IT'S WONDERFUL
-
So annoying!! I've had teammates that let me die on first hook because they're busy looking for the hatch when we are the last ones alive. I'm sorry this happened, and good on you for not disconnecting! Good luck in your future matches and I hope they are more fun than this one :)!
-
I'm a survivor main and my enjoyment comes from not knowing who is going to find me! I never get those things on the loading screen to tell me who I'm going up against, so I have to use contextual clues or completely screw up to find out and it adds to the fun. I love doing generators because I need to be alert and aware of my surroundings, look for pallets and windows to vault in case anything happens, etc! Only time I don't have fun is when I'm getting tunneled, slugged, or my teammates are not cooperating. I play solo queues because I play the game competitively unlike some of my friends, so it's hard to know whether or not I'll have teammates that unhook me safely or just farm me, or, worst of all, teabag while i'm on my first hook and spam the unhook before leaving me to die
-

I like your attitude, but DBD is not a competitive game. The players are competitive. The game itself has so much RNG (and it's dictated by so much RNG) it's basically a party game.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198256/to-people-who-play-fair
U have to define fair and unfair. What do u consider "unfair" or "fair"?
Well, the classic lag switch is an actual offense, so I usually see a fair game as not getting slugged and face camped. Tunneling is obnoxious, especially if you spawned right near them at the beginning of the game and get to hear 3 gens pop before spending the rest of the game unable to do a gen because you're getting chased lol! I guess I mean that people need a chance to do stuff. I play as killer on occasion, and while it's easy to slug players, I always think about how crummy it is when that happens to me-- It isn't fair because they will de-pip and are unable to do their objectives. It also isn't fun to play that way, at least in my opinion. It's hard to phrase this without sounding like an entitled survivor, but I'm sure everyone has experienced matches like that and have just been like 'oh, seriously?' before moving on to the next match haha. And for killers to have a fair game is just as important. SWF's aren't always evil, but we have all been against the flashlight gangs at least once lmao. It's not fun to play as killer when you get pallet stunned and blinded every chase by every survivor for no reason. Sure, you get points, but I don't think it's a strategy at all. It's not protecting you or the other survivors unless one is getting carried, y'know? It's unfair in that aspect, at least imo.

Treat others as you yourself want to be treated. I congratulate all my opponents who won.. I tend not to do so for those who lost, as people tend to take it as gloating and insults even if I do not mean it like that.
The sad part is that often times, I get more salt from those who won, than the actual losers, which is weird to me.. like the other day I had this team of super-friends, decked out in all meta perks, who all escaped.. they played extremely well and were very well coordinated. during EGC, they had me locked down for a solid 30 seconds when 3 of them surrounded me with flashlights and just kept me blind.
Yet they decided it is not enough and threw a bunch of insults to close off an otherwise great game... quite ironic as I was just about to congratulate them on their great play.
(yes, I love playing killers, no matter if I win or lose.. I love the chase part more than the actual hooking them part)
I think that might be the reason why so many survivors are salty.. playing as a survivor is simply not as much fun as playing as a killer. If you get caught and hooked and sacced, it sucks for you. As a killer, even if they all manage to escape, if you hooked them a few times and threw a few good chases, it is easily a fun game.
I'm so sorry that happened at the end, I've had similar trials as killer but I'm a survivor main. The reason I play as killer is to see how others loop, stun, and evade me because I am still new to this game and need all the help I can get lol. But yeah, even when I give survivors those sweet sweet unhook points and then let them go to gens, I am sure I have received 'gg ez baby killer' before (But I wouldn't know because I mainly play on xbox, my PC lags too hard lately) but at least I know they had a good time. Sorry, this got way off topic, but when I play as survivor I always try to remember that there's a person playing against me, and while I could teabag and spam the flashlight at the exit, I'd feel awful about it. And in one of my previous posts, I was made fun of by a guy streaming and I felt like I sucked at the game, but I took a lot of the commenters' advice and just steer clear of their videos since it will usually just be trash talk for the audience to enjoy. Good luck in future matches and have fun :)!!
-
Good for you!! I can see the appeal of it, since you can kinda show off or joke around with people. The most I can do is clip what happened and bother my boyfriend lol! Hopefully you get kind viewers who don't bully you, and good luck in future matches :)!

I'm rank 5 and I've been put in teams with brown and green ranks recently and it messes up the game because a lot of the time my teammates are not sure what to do and the generators are frequently left untouched

I know this is a joke but I'm confused as to why you're saying that when I stated that I never DC anymore because I'd rather move on after a bad game lol. But really, if civ doesn't crash every day I'll gladly take it
-
Play however you want! Honestly, the only time I hate the Hag is when she draws like eight traps on your hook because it's a bit overkill, but as long as you aren't camping or tunneling too much then don't listen to them. I'm starting to get used to the whole pip and de-pip thing, so I don't quit the game after a horrible match lol. I was at a solid rank 4 but I'm barely at 5 now because of sluggers and face campers. My advice? Be nice back to them and brush it off! I'm a survivor main as well and once when I was playing Plague I accidentally got a triple kill when I wanted them all to survive and I'm still grateful to not have a chat function I felt awful!!! Anyways, good luck in future matches and have fun as spooky branch lady :)!
-
Ohh!! One time I was playing as pink meg at Pale Rose and we had PH, so I went up on the dock and pointed at him just for fun and he shook his head 'no,' and then left me for the last survivor. I was doing a gen and tried to save them, but it was their last hook, so PH found me by a window, moon walked, and then nodded his head with me before closing hatch and leading me out the gate! <3
Another time, I met Piggy and when the last survivor died she found me and I just pointed at her hex totem. She crouched and started spamming her roar before leading me to the totems (undying) and then giving me hatch!! <3
Another time as the Blight, I gave everyone one or two hooks before leading them all to gens to get points! Bill just looked me straight on as the EGC timer ran out and sacrificed himself for me even though we were at the edge of the gates together!
And last but not least, the survivors I had when I was Ghostface and messing around with them for playing so well, they led me to the TV at the meat plant and just nodded their heads in front of it with me. Then they all crowded around me, pointed, led me to the hatch and one of them opened it with the key and then left. Best match ever.
