My point is once you get better at the game you will understand that survivors running meta perks doesn’t make them “invincible” if you actually know what you’re doing.

All this post shows is that matchmaking is bad because you got placed with players outside your skill level.

It doesn't make them invincible but there damn near it considering how many hit it would take to kill one of them. And the ranking was fine.

  • @PrincessPoop said:

I guarantee you are not as good as you think you are.

Ok? What would you like to do to validate that point.

A couple things, not to be that guy but we are 3 weeks into rank reset this is when almost everyone starts to get into the higher ranks. I know, I know this is where you tell me you barely have time to play or you would’ve already been red rank. Gotcha heard that before.

Second, getting red ranks at all isn’t about “being good,” it’s more about time. Yes generally red rank players are better than green but it doesn’t mean they’re always good. I am red ranks in both and there is a huge gap between me and the “good red rank players”, I can win at red ranks with Doctor, Wraith, spirit and Huntress because half of the red survivors are potatoes. I can escape or at least pip at red ranks with meme builds because the survivor emblem system is busted.

Im not going to judge you for using NOED because it’s a perk in the game so if killers use it they use it. There is a counter it’s called cleaning totems or even remembering locations do you can find out later if any of them lit up.

Holy ######### noed has a counter? That's crazy dude. I thought the hex was just a pointless attachment. And hitting red ranks as killer 100% = skill. Why else would there be a red rank killer shortage if it was so easy to get to?

  • I was pretty angry to find out that devotion is basically a punishment considering it lowers your shards by alot when you hit it. It should up them if anything.

Part of the problem is that you are playing outside of your skill tier. Ghostface can get easy downs+no Ed for extra endgame clutch tells me you've been pipping when you shouldn't have. Until you're able to be at that rank with a terror radius killer, getting kills while the gens are up, you'll still think that those loadouts are impossible to face.

Inb4 I face red ranks at rank 10.

Yes you will but you'll also face more clueless survivors.

I just hit rank 4 after 3 double pips with docter... I can handle terror radius killers with no problem lmao. Honestly think docter is better then ghostface from what I've seen. Hitting red ranks as killer is impossible for some people. I clearly have the skill dude. Idky you think I'm a ######### killer because I run noed on a killer that is almost impossible to get insta downs with anyways. That might be the worst advice I've gotten today no offense. Seemed more like insults than helpful info.

That remark is how I know you are a survivor main and have no idea how a killer works. Nearly every killer Iri ad-on in this game isn't just mediocre they are outright trash as in literally worse than the brown ad ons.

Honestly. In otz's add on tier list I dont think a single Iri made it past b besides iridescent heads for huntress.

  • Put on discordance and you'll see why. Most of the time you'll see 2 gens pop up yellow within the first 10 seconds.

  • @Sadsnacks said:

I can't think of any killer that could get more than one kill against that.

I wouldn't use NOED since most swf groups can just coordinate constant saves that will be frustrating and leave you frustrated that you wasted a perk slot. It's happened to me. The only time NOED works is with blood warden, but then you're gambling on the end game going the way you want it.

I wouldn't run Corrupt intervention with NOED either. That's two wasted perk slots and you split your efforts between the opening of the match and the end game. Choose to double down on the end game with NOED + Blood warden or Corrupt intervention and Discordance or Surveillance.

My Ghostface build has been Im all ears, Infectious fright, Mad grit, and nurses calling. It's a good all around build for him that counters a lot of the sweaty swf stuff and helps you slug and snowball. I'll usually have mad grit be my variable slot, depending on the lobby I might switch it out for franklins, BBQ, or corrupt intervention.

With that said, even with a perfect build you're still not going to do well against that. I lose to those kinds of groups all the time. I dodge lobbies just to avoid the full red rank matches, but there's always at least one in the lobby 😑

Thanks man. Ill most definitely try that build.

    *Potato

And no, I don't actually. I'm just pointing out the obvious about your whiny, baseless post. Your build contradicts your claim. It's pretty darn sweaty. :) The survivors brought a load out of anti-######### perks and were clearly right to do so. You know how often DS/BT matters in my killer matches? Never. 🤷 Cheer up, perhaps when skill based match making comes out, you'll be matched with people more "your level".

You've literally made comments in the past encouraging suicide on hooks because the killer didnt follow your invisible rulebook. You patato agaisnt ghostface and its obvious. Dont even say otherwise. 90% of people will agree that's not a sweaty loadout. I pray for the day that I find you in a pre game lobby so I can show you an actual sweaty loadout. You won't make it off first hook.

  • Is this a bait post? Like the end seems really baity

  • @Mtom912 said:

Counter argument: this is just a ranking problem, not a balancing problem, a player that is barely over devotion 1 should not already be at purple ranks, and versing red ranks, as they do not have enough game time to learn how to effectively do everything. Unfortunately that is how ranking works because of how easy it is to rank up, newish players, and complete potatoes on both sides get to rank 1, but so do the good players as there is no higher rank, so the good players just destroy the others

Nah it's not an experience problem at all. You know I had to play over 100 ranks to hit devotion 1? I've had this game for about 2 years. I've got the playtime in and I have experience. It's more of a let's punish the killer for our mistakes type of meta.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1331700#Comment_1331700

Oh absolutely. I don't begrudge him his load out by any means. You should bring your strongest build...why wouldn't you? But that's the point. "How are builds like this allowed?" was the question he posed...the same could be said for his own while he stomps an uncoordinated random team on a spoopy map. Highly skilled, well optimized teams ARE hard to beat. They are also not something you face every match. Just like highly skilled, well optimized killers are extremely hard to beat....but you also don't get them every match.

This isnt my "strongest build at all" you just patato against ghostface. If this was my strongest build I would bring bbq, pop, noed, thrilling, with an ebony and insta stalk add ons. I dont play red rank to sweat unlike these survivors who decided to comprise a load out of get out of jail free cards.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

Coming from the dude rocking BBQ, Nurses, NOED, and Corrupt with an iri addon, on a killer with an arguably broken insta-down ability basekit. Your build isn't any more enjoyable.

What? Have you ever even played ghostface before in red ranks? Obviously you haven't if you think he has a broken insta down basekit. He gets taken out of his ability with 0 effort sometimes. If you think ghostface has a broken insta down youve never played a against a myers and it shows. "Broken insta down basekit" you have no clue what you're talking about at all.

  • On console atleast 90% of the time if you try and hit the rescuer autoaim practically pushes you to the hooked survivor.

  • Devs arent gonna ban a tactic purely because it's not fun to play against. Body blocking isnt fun to play against and can completely cheat you out of a kill sometimes but its a legit tactic. Learn, adapt, overcome.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/158339/red-ranks-are-just-spirit-simulator

Red ranks is very very stressful for killer's and if the killer makes a single mistake, that mistake can cost them the game. The reason why you might not be seeing other killer's as much is because of the lack of viability in other killer's. Spirit is 1 of 2 killer's to when it comes to chase's she has the upperhand. As a Spirit main myself I use her at red ranks because I don't wanna spend the whole match being looped and having to depend on survivor's to make a mistake just for me to get a down

It's even worse considering the entire survivor meta right now is punish the killer for your own mistakes.

  • @Rydog said:

Spirit, Nightmare, Nurse, Hillbilly, Oni, Huntress, and even Ghostface and Doctor are all solidly viable at red ranks. I definitely do not encounter an outsized number of Spirits, at least not in our current matchmaking environment. This may be one of the most killer-diversity-rich periods we've ever seen in the game.

I've tried nurse huntress and billy on ps4 but the console limitations make them alot harder to play.

  • @Rydog said:

This isn't League of Legends, there doesn't need to be a banlist.

More importantly though, just avoiding certain killers or maps or situations or whatever -- this doesn't help you. You learn to deal with and overcome the difficult scenarios by dealing with them. There are killers I prefer not to face too, but I'm not going to get better unless I do it anyway.

    43vg32.jpg

Really doubt you want this just for Michael...

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

Or just get good with Spirit/DeathSlinger/ Nurse/ Hag/ Freddy or Doc.

Imo God loopers don't exist if you master a killer that can deny pallets, vaults or Killer action information like DeathSlinger or Spirit

God loopers are only there to waste your time. By purely focusing them and trying to get them out the game you make their point entirely.

  • Atleast pyramid head will heavily discourage camping. Cages spawn so far away by he gets there the survivor will be healed and gone.

  • Well I mean trapper isnt exactly meant to be a powerful killer. Hes pretty much the beginning killer and is obviously meant for earlier ranks so it makes sense hes not powerful. Pyramid head is coming into the game 4 years in so it makes sense for him to be alot more powerful. Wraith and trapper we're added in very early into development so it makes sense for them to not exactly be the most powerful.

Endgame Builds are a lame excuse for "I cannot catch anyone and 100% need my NOED to get something done".

Dying to noed is a lazy excuse for I cannot do totems and I'm a lazy bum

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/155324/make-it-so-keys-cant-be-found-in-chests

If 3 survivors can escape, it means they've done 4 gens. At that point, they'll probably finish the 5th gen and escape anyway. It's not the big of a deal at that point and it rarely happens anyway. Killers have moris, survivors have keys. At least survivors don't have iridescent heads.

Excuse me sir have you ever heard of endgame builds?

  • Wait a minute. I think I know the killer who hasn't been teased at all but is a classic horror villain. Its obviously him at this point. He would blend in perfectly on some maps

    download (19).jpeg

    Its 100% killer sofa

  • I always hate pallet junkies. Ive fought some really cocky survivors who've dropped almost an entire maps worth of pallets thinking they're noob3. I feel bad for their teammates in this case because it makes the match 10x harder for them without pallets.

  • Get it all the time. It happens on window, pallet, hook, and gen grabs. It's been in the game for months now but it's a killer glitch so why would it be a priority?

  • Not holding the game hostage. Just a killer being a douche. Not really much to do about it.

  • Wraith is immensely fun to play no matter the rank. Myers is fun aswell. Spirit can be fun but only over short periods.

  • Wdym. Monstrous shrine is amazing in grey ranks.

  • Red ranks are terrible. The amount of get out of jail free cards survivors use is crazy. 9 times out if 10 you get punished for just about everything. The best thing to do is to practice with spirit and nurse since those are the only killers I've really been able to double pip with at red ranks. If it gets too terrible just go all out toxic. No one respects killer at red ranks so you shouldn't respect them either.

  • Dbd ps4 comes with free killers so whatever ones I didnt mention I got for free but 5 bucks for myers, pig, spirit, oni, clown, bubba, freddy, legion+20 bucks worth of cosmetics(highly regret buying those). Pretty much every killer besides demo and deathslinger. So about 60 bucks in total.

  • Sure. Then I can know when to pack a Mori on red ranks.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Quote: "The issue is right now DbD as a new player experience is the worse it has even been ever especially for killer."

Wait... What? When I started in late 2017 survivors used the following every match:

    - REAL instaheals

    - REAL brand new parts

    - REAL god loops

    - pallet vacuum

    - more pallets including god pallets that were not even mindgameable (pre school entrace to name a sample)

    - more windows

    - SAFER windows (Wretched Shop to name a sample)

    - darker cosmetics

    - Balanced Landing passive effect to nearly loop buildings infinitely

    - multiple exhaustion perks if I commited to a chase too long because exhaustion used to cooldown WHILE SPRINTING

    - REAL decisive strike (especially non-obsession decisive strikes that were completely unexpected)

I could list a bunch of other stuff that I remember but you get the point. Playing killer is really easy now.

Ironically I rarely moaned back when I was new. I just played and enjoyed killer gameplay because DBD was completely unique gameplay-wise. Were there any other games like DBD back then that allowed you to hunt down other players like prey?

    @Zagrid said:

With the anniversary coming and probably a new licensed killer (pinhead) coming as well. New and returned players will be headed for DbD.

The issue is right now DbD as a new player experience is the worse it has even been ever especially for killer.

With matchmaking almost never pairing you with people in the same color rank as you anymore a new player with no perks, no experience, no game knowledge, and no reason to put up with day to day DbD BS. It’s a terrible waste of time, at least to them.

As a new killer you have to contend with learning all of the mechanics of each killer you want to play, learning the maps and what stuff leads to where, learning how to loop efficiently, and finding out mid game all of the 16 survivor perks you have never even scene.

If you ever wonder why killers in low ranks camp and tunnel, it’s because it is the only thing they can do the stand a chance against the fully kitted out survivor side they are facing with only 1 perk and probably no add ons.

Not to mention the queue times encouraging survivor play mid day and killer play at night. When it is statistically more likely to face a SWF sweat squad trying to ruin some killers enjoyment of the game.

All is this is backed up by XQC where he streamed DbD and had this exact experience.

Something needs to change. First things first would be the ranking system being useless if the players you get are all in different color ranks.

Also the argument rank doesn’t matter is so played out. It matter when a rank 20 is compared to a rank 1. But it doesn’t matter from rank 10 to rank 1.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

Gotta agree with him on that. When every map had millions of pallets and the inclusion of event based offerings that added more pallets? God loops and jungle gyms were at their worst and if you didnt now how to play nurse or Billy you were easy prey for the average red rank swf. Things have gotten alot better for killer.

This is like a repeat of your post, sure they're acting a bit rude, but there's no need to stoop to their level or try and one up them. Just move on.

Also, for the record, there are quite a few differences between Tier 3 Madness and tbagging.

I dont care about moral high grounds. Whether I'm stooping to their level or not I'm not gonna deal with someone saying I have "cuck energy" for trolling a teabagger when they can barely handle a doctor.

No. I was being a bit silly but if them teabagging you really upsets you that's kinda sad.

Teabagging doesn't upset me at all. It just satisfies me when some mediocre red rank swf thinks there a depip squad then gets clapped. They were teabagging and flashlight spamming the whole match without getting a single save. It was very satisfying to get a 4 man on them.

We should also remember it is the survivors job to work as a team to escape. Stop getting salty when a survivor doesn’t run on a straight line for you, tries to prevent you from hooking their teammates and doing the objective as quick as possible.

The killers job is to prevent survivors from escaping, the survivors job is to escape. Not a hard concept. It’s the players choice if they want to complete their tasks in a manner that is fair or if they want to intentionally upset the other team. It’s not difficult to do the objective without being toxic. You don’t need to t bag the killer after you stun them, you don’t need to shake your head at a survivor who ran you for a little longer than you liked.

None of my post is even about the way survivors play so why are you even mentioning this? I'm saying there's too much of a stigma around judging the killer and the ways he kills no matter if you like it or not. Making this whole paragraph about what survivors do was pointless. Did you even read the post?

If we follow you logic here and say that killers are constantly getting nerfed and survivors are constantly getting buffed, doesn't it mean that survivors are OP? Either killers were OP and now they are getting nerfed for good, or survivors get unjustified buff that gives them too much of an advantage, aka they have become OP.

I said killer were constantly being nerfed to allude to the fact that the devs didnt favor killers. Do you just pick and choose what you will and wont read?
