Ok ok my bad, but question. Sometimes you can use ds 2 times in a match per survivor, I’ve experienced this myself, did you know they had ds?
Nope... absolutely no clue. Neither were the obsession. All 4 survivors were running the perk that game. I'm getting punished for "tunneling" when I'm not. Which is insanely hard to do since tunneling is sometimes the only viable way of putting on pressure in red ranks. But I'm actually trying to make the game enjoyable for them and I get screwed over.

Yes they are. Most think I have no clue what I'm talking about but I know if survivors aren't have fun they cry here look for someone to care.
I've this guys posts before. 90% are your average entitled survivor opinions who think the killer should make it as easy as possible to play survivor.

Getting hit with 4 Decisive Strikes before getting any hooks isn't a good thing.
Your objective would still be at 0.
Getting hit with 4 decisive and immediately recovering because of enduring would very much recover my objective.

Lol how about maybe choose the other, maybe not the most recent person off hook, it’s clear that you kinda were tunneling if the most recent one had ds, but tbh you could’ve slugged both of them or what not but I mean I don’t have proof, so who knows what you did "that was a not so smart comment sir.”
Bruh. I'm playing the game meat plant. I'm I hooked one at the vault that drops into the basement and the other by the hook that was next to the exist gate because he had boil over. They were unhooked within 5 seconds of each other and the gate was open. In the area where I hit him he wouldve 100% gotten out in 60 seconds. This wasnt tunneling at all. It was the complete opposite. So no it wouldnt make the most sense to choose the "not so recent person off hook" when they were unhooked at almost the same time

It is quite fair cause it’s a second chance perk, maybe don’t tunnel shall we?
also the buff seemed like a nerf cause the old ds you were able to use at any time even if you weren’t unhooked, now you need to be unhooked in order for it to activate
Please Explain how that was tunneling at all. Please. I literally didnt hut them until the other 2 survivors were out the door. When the only 2 people left were the hooked survivors who else am I supposed to hit? That was a not so smart comment sir.

If you really think new DS is better then old DS, you probably have not played against old DS.
There was absolutly no legit counter to old DS, especially because you had no idea who else but the obsession was running it.
@Deadbylag said:
Nop, you are wrong new strike is nice, I think need a little rework cause sometimes toxic killers just wait the minute and you are done when they tunnel u. May should been activate and turn off if u heal yourself or start repair
Old ds could be countered out by dribbling and enduring. This one has no counterplay whatsoever. What dont you guys understand about that? Old ds would extend a chase by like 3 seconds because of enduring. Not to mention the old skill check was alot smaller then this one.

Thank you for pointing this out.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
And I cannot believe people want Old DS back.
Is it that hard to believe that we would want a perk that can actually be countered by something? With tier 3 enduring it would extend the chase by less then 5 seconds. It had a counter play.

DS is only effective if you let it be, if I happen to down a recently unhooked sv, i pick him right away, so if he DS's me, his DS is canceled. So many times the killer downed me and waited for my DS in the middle of the game, just for me to use it in the end to escape. Why can't people just accept that if they lose the game its a hint that they need to get better.
He didnt use the ds until the end of the game. How tf am I supposed to know he has ds if he literally never used it and didnt have obsession ticks. That's not a sign of "me needing to get gud" it's complete and utter bs. It's either I let him escape through crawling and he gets a free escape. Or I eat the ds and he gets a free escape. Literally no counter play whatsoever.

It does matter now, if someone is the Obsession it at least tells the killer "Someone might be running DS."
So the killer might play it more safely, might slug, might leave the person who got off the hook.
If you play survivor, you'll notice most games with no obsession the killer tunnels hardcore.
If you have an obsession, the killer is a bit more careful or might just tunnel like an idiot, but you'll notice some killers play a lot more careful when there is an obsession. ( I know I do, I don't tunnel regardless but I am a lot more careful)
Not to mention old ds could be counter played by enduring. Another reason it was 10× and made more sense

Literally been playing since the game released on console. 600+ hours clocked in. And in red ranks. I would rather fight 1 time dribble old decisive then this cheap infinite use decisive. I'd rather eat 1 ds one time then fight 2 ds were they get a free 60second immunity in some cases.

You got DC'd on one time and suddenly the penalty hasn't made any difference? LOL right.
Maybe don't slug to 4k and they won't DC for hatch. 🤷
Dont slug for the 4k or else survivors are going to do something bannable. Dont "slug" a meta literally made for the game(if you dont believe me look at knockout) or people are gonna do something they're not supposed to. If were gonna go by that logic. Dont be 4 toolboxes or I'll bring an ebony🤷♀️. Dont go in a locker with decisive active or I'll mori you off first hook. Dont use loops and I won't use iridescent and infantry. Toxicity goes both ways. And if you dont think the killer should be able to play the game he wants so you can have an easier time then go play something else please. Is every post you make this toxic and entitled?

You missed my point.
Yes, Old DS had its counter, you knew the OBSESSION had it.
You didn't know the other 3 had it. THAT'S why it was awful, that's why it was nerfed.
It had an unlimited amount of time usage for everyone, the obsession was the only one that could have used it after 2 seconds of being carried.
The same thing applies for current ds? I didnt know either of those guys had ds. And I'd rather fight the old ds with its 1 time use.
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
No, it wasn't a buff it was a nerf.
The problem wasn't the person that had Decisive Strike, you could have dribbled them to the hook.
The problem was the other 3 Decisive Strikes that you didn't see because they weren't the obsession. There was no telling who had it, and imagine getting to a hook and getting DS'ed and losing all your momentum after that.
THIS time around you at least have an idea on who has it IF there is an obsession, and THIS time around there is an actual time limit.
Back in the day, it was unlimited amount of time. Imagine 4 Decisive Strikes in End Game with no time limit.
That's why old DS was awful.
Old ds had a 1 time use and it had its counters. Even though you could dribble it was an incredibly risky method because one more drop and your hook is gone.

Yes because it is hard to play as a 4 man swf running 4 toolboxes and locker perks. This is a thread about matchmaking. Not a vent session for your frustrations with survivor the easiest thing to play in the game
-
@Peanits said:
The best advice I could give you is to not sweat the losses right now. She's far from the easiest to play, especially with a controller, so there's no shame in losing with her. The only way you're really going to get better with her is to lose and learn from your mistakes. Going against easier opponents might make you win now, but it won't help you learn how to mindgame and hit the good ones.
If you are playing against good survivors, though, I would recommend not blinking through walls (at least, not all the time) but instead blinking to the corners. Survivors need to break line of sight to get away from you. If you blink to where you think they'll be if they kept running, they can wait by the corner and run back the other direction and you'll have no idea where they are. By blinking to the corner, you can make sure that you can see them no matter which way they go.
But you're ultimately want to get a feel for it. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't. You'll need to practice and get a feel for what works and what doesn't, and how to read a survivor and guess what they'll do next.
With the next update, we'll be increasing the maximum controller sensitivity, which might help you out a little if you find that it's not turning fast enough.
(Clap clap clap clap clap)

I would say what I truly want to say to you but I dont wanna get another warning from mandy even though he's a pretty cool guy but have you ever heard "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" if you are a person who has an IQ above room temperature(doubt it) You would know that to balance the game. A huge nerf to killer would only warrant a nerf of equal balance to survivor. It's literally how balance works. That's why everyone is always warranting an equal nerf to survivor. The last time they nerfed killers without making an equal one to survivors the ps4 matchmaking times went kerplunk

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. You really helped connect a few dots. I can be easy going to try maximizing gains when the survivors let me. It's not how I want to play all the time, but if it gets me where I need to go, for now, I can do that. I have fun bopping field mice on the head. The key there is, "when the survivors let me."
Not everyone is as easy going as I can be, though and not everyone will enjoy playing survivor. Not everyone will take the time to understand the issue, either. It is still my hope this is a prioritized issue, either from a matchmaking standpoint or finding a way to make killing more enjoyable... if not profitable again.
Yeah bro. If your new to the game I'd recommend getting invested in the games youtuber community. They're 90% of the reason I'm rank 8

It's entirely possible that I missed something. That is the drawback of being a new player, even though I've watched hours of videos and read numerous articles. I don't know what I missed because I showed up after the nerf. Are you implying as a high-rank killer I am encountering low-rank survivors because low-rank killers stopped killing?
I do know about the rune nerf, but I cannot imagine that one change completely gutted killers.
As an aside, I'll still main killers and I'll get better as I go. It's just going to be excruciating if I have to crawl along with minimal bloodpoint gains because I keep getting matched with low ranked survivors.
I'd also like to clarify this only seems to be a consistent issue during prime-time hours. Off-peak, like earlier today, the lowest rank I encountered was 12. Still difficult, but not nearly as bad as last night. It is interesting that when I switched to survivor for the dailies the killers I encountered were rank 19-20. Not a solid sample size by any means, but interesting, nonetheless.
Basically. There was a perk called ruin. And in when the perk was primarily used a couple of months ago the gen speeds needed fixing and that was one of the few perks that helped killers pressure gens easier
Basically if you didnt hit great skill checks the gen would regress. All you would need to do is find the perk totem for it since it was a hex.
The perk got nerfed to make the game easier for new survivors. This stopped alot of killers from playing the game on console and pc and combine that with the fact that it is very difficult to hit rank 1 as a killer and bam. The matchmaking becomes terrible for survivors and unfair for killers. The game pretty much throws any killer it can find at any team. That's the reason your fighting such high ranking survivors
-
@LALYTHIA said:
I love how threads about killer perks always include a segue into which survivors perks should be nerfed.
NOED is fine as-is.
Adrenaline is fine as-is.

Yeah that's because theres this thing called balance. If your gonna nerf a hugely used killer perk and completely diminish the killer base. You should balance it out with a survivor perk.
-
As you can see. The rune nerf definitely made the game easier for new players. The complete lack of killers at low ranks is ridiculous. It's a shame. New players have to deal with red ranks. This is terrible.

Ok, let's just say I have very, very ######### games on this map as a killer.
Usually people camp in corners, wait for me to leave and then do gens (a tactic I've also seen my team doing and have joined in on).
Yes its not great for looping, but if you know where to hide then it's possible.
There are also many pallets that you cant mind game. Two on the bottom floor and 2-3 on the top, with an extra few pallets that may spawn that are hard to mind game.
Maybe I've drank one to many tonight, but this is what I think of the map.
Pallet above the basement next to the truck is also impossible to mindgame
-
@th3 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1206610#Comment_1206610
Then that's an issue you'll need to get better at.
Nearly all the pallets are mindgameable with only 3 that are truly must break immediately. One of which can be made extremely unsafe when survivors do the generator next to it. Window hits are easy to get when you zone survivors and cut them off which the map allows quite easily, more so as survivors complete certain generators that open paths.
I'd love to have a sit-down analysis of the map and lay out why its not survivor sided at all but comparing it to Haddonfield is just incorrect and misleading.
This whole post is a bait but I'm neutral on the haddonfield and game debate. If RNG allows it. Haddonfield can spawn too mant safe pallets. And that combined with the debris makes minigames alot harder
-
Drop the survivor as soon as the light gets too much. It legit works too. I've gone against a full team of flashlights and with the right build they were punished.

in a 2v1, it kinda does. Especially since you prevent the hatch from opening. I get that the less survivors there are, the stronger the killer technically gets. But slugging late game to turn a 2v1 practically into a 1v1 is comparable to taking a game hostage. Just because it has a 2 minute timer doesnt really change that.
I mean, could you imagine if hostage keeping was time based?
"Your honor, I did not keep any hostages when I robbed the bank, because they all bled to death within 2 minutes"
No, ######### that. Hostage keeping means you lock someone from doing anything and offer no outside aid. Slugging in a 2v1 is literally creating a hostage situation. Sure, its not as bad as those people back in the day who kept the game hostage for 45 minutes, but its something that's too easy to pull off, has too much reward and no risk at all.
Yes, a killer actually killing people and permanently removing them from the game, should turn the game more towards the killers favour, thats fine, thats the whole setup of the game. But pseudo killing someone by slugging them is a bit too strong. People wouldnt complain about slugging if:
- Flipflop was a base mechanic and the perk increasing the % that was being flopped(10% base conversion with flipflop adding up to 40%).
- If the effects on struggling actually had an impact like they used to. Even if boil over has to be nerfed slightly to compensate.
- You had a teeny tiny chance of picking yourself up or killing yourself early on. Why? Because killing yourself while slugged INSTANTLY opens the hatch, meaning the killer has a risk of losing the last survivor by keeping someone slugged. Which actually was the second main use for DC in games: you would instantly give the hatch. The first use obviously avoiding mori sluggers.
The fact that you cant do ANYTHING while slugged besides bleeding out, is why its considered a hostage situation. Those 2v1 slug situations are pretty much the biggest reason people want to make slugging more punishing. It removes a use for BT, it removes DS, it removes the hatch escape. Since instaheals arent a thing, there isnt really a way to play around that situation. I mean, at that point, the only thing you can do is run unbreakable, and unbreakable is just a ######### boring perk to use. You have killers complain all the time how perks and addons shouldnt be required to counter 1 very strong perk or game mechanic, yet complain about survivors using perks that are required to counter the strongest base game mechanic without realizing how boring it otherwise is laying on the floor for 2 minutes is, because there is no way you can be picked up without basically swapping positions.
If being slugged actually gave a use for survivors, like lockpicking a hatch at the cost of bleeding out faster, or being able to help someone get up who is also downed once they get the "find help" option, or being able to tie the killers shoelaces together so that he trips or something. At least something else other than merely crawling around. Being forced to use perks to make yourself useful when slugged is just bad game design.
Excuse me senor dumbass but theres literal perks to stop slugging. Free ones at that. The match will literally end in 2 minutes. Not even alot. Going by your logic wouldnt hiding and not doing anything the entire match be considered holding the match hostage? Its slugging is a literal strategy and its obviously supported by the devs. The ones who justify weather or not the match is held hostage. It is completely different then mori spam. Like bro just bring unbreakable every match. Problem solved.
-

It's crazy how they created the EGC to minimize survivors taking hostage of the game wheb now, killers need their 4k that they will slug 1 survivor down ubtil they find the other so on and so forth until they either bleed out or get the 4k. IF 1 survives, killer gets hatch then like you said, gets to monitor the two exit gates that are ofteb close to eachother. What I've begun to do with my teamate instead of trying to finish last gen we just creep pn map until killer AFC or messages. If they want to take hostage of the game for a 4k then i will take hostage to survive.
Slugging does not equal taking hostage of the game at all. Theres literally perks that encourage slugging and you have a bleed out timer. You will die eventually. At that point your the only person holding the game hostage.

Ruin is a crutch that people have become too reliant on. It's a bad perk. There are much better ones that help you get early game pressure like whispers or discordance, for example. The added bonus is you can actually enjoy them all game and not worry about losing a perk in the beginning of the match.
Also, pressure>gen slowdown/regression
I mean your acting as if there aren't multiple survivor perks that are apart of the loadout for almost every survivor. But of course survivors can use crutches but a killer's too toxic when they use them.
