Today I learned I could be a professional dbd player on a Japanese team.

Yeah the video is on YouTube and there is a reaction video where dowsey analyzes the match...the player even got a head pop🤣

  • You mean a proper hide and seek game with no gens and no exit gates last survivor tries to get the hatch...I like it🤑

  • @Ruma said:

What exactly do you mean with data and gens and balancing?

    @Marigoria said:

What do you mean by "balancing" gens?

Rest of the post got cut off for some reason it has been readded🤣

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Even if they have the data that hasn't prompted them to fix anything before.

Sure it has undying got nerfed decisive strike got nerfed ruin got nerfed borrowed time got buffed...just depends on enough people complaining with the "data"

hehe... most OP Killer according to my teammates half the time 🙄😛

And I know! You can't quite go full feral with his power when Survivors smarty up, but it's still decent to frenzy one Survivor at a time and get the down!

Did you tell then pig won a Japanese tournament 🤣

The OP might mean a recent interview (the one pinned, you've probably seen it) where one of the Dev's said they didn't want people pressured to run perks. Specifically in regards to regression perks.

So as always, some people have taken this as a sure sign they're going to nerf gens or something. Personally, I don't think it means anything. The dude just answered a question.

This exactly...it was said not rely on the same perks and killers at almost any sbmm need to run at least one or two gen regression perks if not more

  • @Sluzzy said:

In the last 10 matches, I’ve seen nothing but Ruin and usually Undying too. Not to mention a dramatic increase in tunneling and slugging. The killers all won and that’s very bad balance.

For how difficult it is for survivors to increase their MMRs, the data should show an overabundance of killers using Ruin, Undying, and other slowdown perks that is artificially increasing MMRs of killers. Survivor MMR is not taking this into account, every match is still no chance of survival. This is why there are so many killers with high MMRs and hardly any survivors except for SWF that is able to somehow do the hard to do gens. These perks are not fun to verse every single game and I’m looking for a discussion from the devs on addressing this problem. It has to be acknowledged.

How many hours of survivor have you played?😎

I've recieced hate and death threats for running this. And I don't play doctor well.

Super terror radius doc is great...have you tried it with starstruck instead of huntress lullaby😁

This is honestly the only time I have ever been criticized for my build. Survivors are NOT a fan of Basement Bubba.

Almost any basement killer build generates the salt(trapper, hag, and bubba especially)

I think it was 4 hours (hatch standoff).

During those hours I kept walking to a near-by gen with no line of sight blockers and the killer would try and grab me with old treatment mode so it was a back and forth between that gen and the hatch.

At some point I had my Sprint Burst 99'd and ran to the gen and as soon as he came over trying to grab me I managed to Sprint Burst past him and got the hatch

    @VaJaybles said:

    - 3 hours. Old dbd where you would load in even if someone leaves, so a 3v1. My 2 friends get body blocked in basement on red forest. I cleansed all totems (was expecting noed) and then popped the last gen, opened both exit gates and go back to see what I can do. Doctor is just there spamming his power, I'm standing above the basement and my dumbass falls in. Now all 3 of us are trapped. Luckily I figured out how to glitch past him (moving forward between him and the wall, crouching and spamming to miss the "snap out of it" skillchecks) man tried to say he fell asleep.... Too bad it was all recorded x3, and showed him using his power and moving occasionally.

-5 hours, trapped inside of basement hook, against a facecamper. (An actual facecamper, before swivel hooks were added) almost got saved and then the hook said "nope!" Switched to my other Xbox and continued playing.

-Standard hatch stand offs. Old dying light Myers, forever Freddy, bugged addon legion.

Old Dbd was crazy🤯 I started on 2018 so I missed all of these changes.

So if it was 3 vs 1 you had to do less gens right?

So hatch standoff was if the killer stood on the hatch the survivor could not open the hatch right? I can see why it was changed🤣

It was midwhich, I was afk until I heard crows coming from the next room and found a Meg crouching in the bathroom with crows on her head lol. Would whispers even work on a small map like midwhich?

I haven't run into a whispers situation in midwich yet...I would think anything within whisper range would be fair game🤔

  • @Mandy said:

My longest one was around 45mins - 3 gen Doc.

I personally don't like matches this long at all, I think 10 minute matches are perfect with regards to length.

    How did the match end?🙂

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

This was pre-EGC. It was a Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer Freddy on Swamp with 3 of us left and we could not for the life of us find that stupid Ruin totem for, like, at least 40 minutes into the 3 gen. I tried to Shadowplay the game after, with it capped at 20 minutes, and it began well into the 3 gen time.

We had a streamer with us, luckily, so I can safely say we were totem hunting and trying to do gens (solo, btw, with me frantically typing in his chat sometimes) for at least another 35 minutes. We only got 2 out because the streamer sacrificed himself and the Freddy took the bait, either because he messed up or because he was as bored as we were.

    So, yeah, about 1:20:00 maybe?

At least two of you escaped😎...some of these pre egc matches are crazy🤣 was the killer a forever freddy?

  • @miketheratguy said:

Good lord, if I were in a 40 minute match against Wraith I'd have quit halfway through and set myself on fire.

My longest game was about 25-28 minutes, against the Trickster of all people. He was new, this was within the first few days after the PTB. I don't know if he was farming the whole match or not (this was literally within just a couple weeks of my first playing the game) but by the end, after I was the last survivor or two, I remember that I "looped" him at the shack for a good minute or so and at one point he stopped outside of it and nodded at me through the window. I believe that he could have gotten me based on how many whiffs he made but I was not yet accustomed to the idea that sometimes players (including myself) will go easy for various reasons.

They stunned me with pallets and clicky click and tbag me from afar it's on with wraith🤣

so did the trickster player leave you alone the rest of the match?

  • @Myla said:

Probably an hour back when hatch stand off was a thing. Ate dinner, relaxed for a bit and came back that the match is still going on lol

🤣🤣🤣🤣 so who lasted longer for the win?

  • @Woodywool said:

The longest match that I ever had is a game from Nurse release in august of 2016 that took 50 minutes.

I was playing solo and we had not experienced Nurse (of course, a few people were be decent on her when she was released). 2 guys from my team were very stealthy but sadly killer saw them a couple of times and they didn't loop good. 2 survivors died soon.

Around 10th minutes of the match... It was me, a random dude in my team, 5 gens to do and the killer stayed in the match.

Me and my teammate were doing gen for 10-15 seconds and then left it for avoiding to be spotted by the killer. In these days, killers can not break gens so, it was a pretty good strategic for us. After 20 minutes we manage to do 3 of them but killer saw my teammate and was chasing him pretty long. Sadly, the Nurse managed to catch him while I almost did one gen.

The killer wasn't stupid and probably tired of the match and started to patrol the hooked guy. After unhooking my teammate, she was chasing me. I ran less than my teammates do but he repaired the gen that I was doing.

My teammate unhooked me, he got downed. I saved him, I got downed. But instead of picking me up, she tried to find him. Luckily for us, my teammate healed me and the killer wasn't spotted us again.

On the 35-40th minute of the match, we had last gen to do.

We took separate gens. I was doing 1 and hiding when the Nurse's coming here and he was doing 2nd gen and playing in the same way.

It took around 5-7 minutes but I repaired the last gen and the killer was starting to chase me. I somehow managed to escape her in abbatoir.

She lost me while my teammate was opening a gate. He was waiting for me and we both escaped.

After this match we became friends but sadly we're not longer playing dbd together.

Nice game you both stuck it out and actually escaped after doing gens😎 did your friend move on to play something else?

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280705/what-was-the-longest-dbd-match-you-played

45mins back when EGC didn't exist. I had a game where I was the killer and got completely destroyed, I just couldn't get anyone on the hook due to a lot of body blocking and sabo. When the last gen popped I didn't feel interested in getting flashlighted and teabagged so I went down to the basement and stood in a corner facing into it.

The survivors weren't happy with obvious victory and escape so they just stayed and stayed until around 45mins passed then they finally left.

Still cant believe they wanted to bully after they won...some people🙁

Hatch standoff and gen hostage doc. Got into a hatch standoff with a nurse back in 2017 and we waited 4 entire hours just staring at each other. She eventually dc'ed and commented on my profile "-Rep, hatch standoff until my wifi died"

Gen hostage doc is self explanatory. Some of the longest matches i've ever had in the history of DBD.

Edit: Oh and forever freddy. I remember really well playing a match with my ex where it took several hours for us to beat a 3 gen forever freddy, if we even so much as ran 3 feet away from the 3 gen he'd just run back and regress the gens.

    @Pulsar said:

    Over 12 hours.

You guys are champs and I am so thankful for egc. 🤯

I cant imagine waiting that long. I was ready to DC after an hour of two survivors left alive hiding in the game map. I was playing huntress with 2 gens near the steps and 1 above the step.

This was the old game map where there were more lockers to hide in and I didnt have whispers...ended up watching YouTube until they got bored and dced.🤣

I'm genuinely surprised BHVR has not added a thing that just auto-ends a match after a certain while

Also - my longest match was probably this one time I was SoloQing and it was against a Freddy on Suffo Pit. As you can imagine, he had a three gen on one side of the map and nobody was dead so it became a stalemate. It went on for so long I was practically begging for it to just be over but eventually we powered through it and won in the end

But man was it a drag.

Any idea how long it lasted? Was it during the forever freddy phase?🙂

  • @ouroboros_world said:

Over an hour, 5 bloody party streamers was on the line so survivors avoid gen and hide while I searched every corner. I already killed 2 survivors and 4 gens was left.

What map was it? Sad when whispers needs to be used to stop games like this🤨

  • @Hippie said:

I mainly play Pyramid Head and have recently picked up Pig as another main! Legion was the first Killer I played and he was my main for a while, but I still enjoy playing him every now and then.

Pig of course use the most OP killer in the game🤨...just kidding🤣.

Legion is fun at first but once survivors know to split up he just becomes an m1 killer😭

  • @SabunoHakia said:

Here is the fix 1.5% progress is lost upon kicking a generator, generator can't be instantly just tapped to stop loss progression you must wait a total of 5 seconds before hand or the next time the generator is kicked a maximum of 3% progress is lost every kick until a generator has had the full 5 seconds pass before touching it.

Such a wonderful and simple solution😎 would fix the gen tapping problem

  • @Weasdat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2500727#Comment_2500727

One survivor with one perk or even just a map is enough to completely shut down every hex perk in the game. It blows my mind to see so many people ######### about ruin/undying yet never use the several anti-totem perks or even a map alone.

They take up spots for prove thyself and spine chill 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • @Apollos said:

My list for the worst are:

    • Repair 5 different generators for at least 1 second each. (single trial) (Tome III, level III)
    • Escape the trial while carrying an item of Very Rare rarity or better 1 time. (Tome VI, level II)
    • Point in the Killer's direction within 5 seconds of the perk Premonition activating. Do this 2 times. (single trial) (Tome VI, level IV)
    • Escape the trial through the Hatch while carrying a Map. Do this 1 time. (Tome VII, level IV)
    • Sabotage 3 Hooks without a Toolbox while using the perk Saboteur. (Tome VIII, level III)

I still haven't done the escape a match with a map by the hatch.

The first one is gen tapping and moving on to the next gen.

Plunderers helps with the second one on your list.

The pointing one you can do at the exit gate

The last one is do a hook and then gen while saboteur recharges

  • @EvilJoshy said:

  • @AssassinZodiac said:

It has been mostly pleasant for me on both roles. I'm finally getting decent teammates as survivor. My survivor lobby wait times have decreased dramatically.

As killer I have mostly very challenging matches that require me to actually outplay the survivors I'm facing. Instead of just blindly 4k'ing almost every match. It has actually renewed my enthusiasm for playing as killer to be better at the game. And learn new tactics on winning close nail biter matches.

My only complaint so far are the long killer wait times. Although I see tons of people on this forum complain of 10+ minute lobby wait times. My lobbies haven't been nowhere near that. I'd say my average lobby wait time on all killers is still 5 minutes or less. I'm willing to wait 5 minutes for a fun and challenging match. If it were 10-30 minute wait times, I wouldn't be so happy with Sbmm.

Overall though I am very happy with Sbmm so far. Hopefully as it accrues more data, it will improve even more over time. Also the devs will finally be able to see what actually does and does not need adjustment based on kill stats and match quality.

It's hard to give them more data when the queues are bad...in the evenings it has gotten better around that 7 to 10 minute wait but then that is also swf time🤣

I think from now on I will just beat up my zombies if I lose a match and the survivors refuse to leave. Maybe they will learn not to get stuck in a tree at some point. I know they're quite literally undead but c'mon maaaan I'm sure you can avoid walking into that one tree just one single time ! haha...

On dead dog saloon I would run around and break every breakable wall during endgame...destruction points🤣

I'd say probably 5 or 6 back to back games, I got lucky that one person wanted to urban evade around and save their Sprint Burst and they didn't get the door open. It was a 10 hook game at the cost of all 5 gens, it just barely counted.

Yeah some of my adepts were like that...for me trickster was the hardest one of the non trademark killers

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Okay so good news, I'm finding games

You have been very fortunate 🙂

  • @Yamaoka said:

My killer queues take around 3 minutes. I usually spend bloodpoints, look at the perks I have on the killer I'm gonna play and wonder if I'll face "fun" survivors or just a group of wannabe e-sports players that will try to get out of the match ASAP even though I do anything I can to make the match fun for me and others by not tunneling/camping (not even proxy)/slugging etc.

Had a David tbag me earlier today even though I played completely fair and without slowdown on Haddonfield.

Best thing was I didn't even see him throughout the match. He quite literally only repaired gens, didn't touch a single totem (based on how fast the gens went), didn't open a single chest, didn't get into a single chase with me but still acted like he just beat the scummiest camp/tunnel/slug/4slowdown perks killer in modern history.

Well, he probably got camped/tunneled/slugged by some Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer Blight 1 match later since that's what most survivor matches look like now lol.

Maybe I should run some regression perks so I can at least get a chase with everyone in. Kinda lame if people escape without a single chase.

He did a lot he held down m1🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah I get that a couple of times as well...the best ones throw a pallet down and jump over it repeatedly trying to get me to go over there. You got me 🙄

When its endgame i just spam my killers power trying to get bloodpoints and ignore them.

  • @alaenyia said:

I have played this game for 3 and a half four years. It was fire when I started and ridiculously fun. There were all kinds of matches and you won some and you lost some. But in that time it has been a steady decline into an unfun, frustrating nightmare.

As a solo survivor main, I have gone from winning half the time to maybe 10%. It has become so ridiculously killer sided to "combat SWF" I guess, that it is nothing but a huge waste of time to even log in, wait 15 min for a match, spend 5 min in the match getting hard tunneled right back out, to start again. Every match is just camp/tunnel/slug rinse repeat. There is no pride in strategy, there is no variation in perks or technique, there is no fun. It is fast, lazy, cheap plays to end the match as soon as possible, most likely depipping the surv team. Not one thought is ever given to whether the people in the match came to play, killers could not care less.

Now the survivors. These people come in 2 classes. New players who are repeatedly downed, don't know where anything is, sandbag everyone because they don't know any better and never offhook because they are afraid and can't read the room. This type us frustrating but everyone starts somewhere.

But type number 2 are the hardcore, I'm gonna harass the killer with my flashlight and teabags, not doing gens or totems because they don't want to miss an opportunity to flashlight, farm offhooks and annoy literally everyone in the match. They don't work on any objectives, just run around baiting, moonwalking, probably are streaming, have 5k hours. If they are caught and killed they can not wait to tell the survivor who did all the gens that they are "hiding trash that did nothing all match". Then they can't compliment the killer that tunneled them out of the game hard enough, while attacking their fellow team mates. These people are exhausting.

then BHVR themselves have done nothing but nerf every survivor item, perk, offering etc. They have brought out enough aura perks, built-ins for killers and add-ons that killers can really just see you the entire match. They have introduced killers whose entire power is based on playing sweaty, and who then depend on camping and tunneling to even be competitive (looking at the Twins). I understand that 4way SWF are problematic and just run the match and leave and all around suck. I like trapper and a decent 4 man SWF is pretty much going to win. But BHVR should just change how many people can queue together. Because making the game unplayable for the 70% of players who are not playing killer or SWF are just over being annihilated every single match.

So everything about this once amazing, fun, exciting game has become a rotting cancer. I play nearly daily and for the last 6mos to a year have has very few days I did not log out due to frustration and anger. Especially because I can remember when this game was fun, for all the players, not just 4 man SWF.

    Vaya con Dios 🤘

Instead of changing how base mechanics like regression and hex functionality for lower tier killers we buff these killers to have a movement power, better chase, or both (hey trapper and legion) so they can stand their own vs the best teams.

Sound ideas...now will they implement them and how long will it take? Will players have the patience to wait around for the fixes?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

No offence but this is one of the worst ideas I've ever seen on these forums.

    No offence taken🤣

If we wait for the developers to take action (the ones who actually play the game) the game will be dead by then with people moving on.

Most killers are woefully unable to beat 4 genbots.

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 38
