Killer is always going to be more stressful, yes. It doesn't need to be as stressful as it is now or as it has been in the past.
Basekit Kindred is fine, I'd even put in basekit Bond.
The med-kit nerf needs to happen.
I would argue that most maps need to be looked at.
Nurse does need to be toned down and a lot of Killers need to be toned up.
I think those base-kit changes are fine.
Maps should be smaller.
DS should be 5 seconds on both hooks without disabling the Killer's power.
Corrupt base-kit should block 3 gens for 30 seconds and stack with the perk.
I find your changes to be mostly acceptable, but your conclusions to be wildly off-target. The game isn't Killer-sided. If you take people of equal skill and play them against each other, it's actually pretty balanced, assuming it isn't Solo Q.
Undeniably though, Survivor needs changes. While I am enjoying losing only 4 games since Wesker released as Killer, I am not enjoying the opposite end of that.
I was more trying to mention how the game overall vs the general solo queue roster you're facing 90% of the time is killer sided - should have been more clear about that, fair enough.
DS and killer power - Here's my 2 cents. It makes the stun a bit more bearable for killers like Trapper - but makes it decent versus Killers like Blight/Spirit/Nurse.
Basekit speed boost I still, respectfully disagree with.
Corrupt (with taking into account fixing the biggest maps) basekit only blocking 2 gens for a bit would be fine imo.

Fun fact: 95% of the playerbase who thinks they're high MMR just reached the soft cap.
And / or they're playing only in the evening - midnight when queue times are prioritiezed over MMR.
Well aware of that. Been laughing at the "top MMR" in stream titles for months. Your point?

See? you are nothing more than just a raging survivor main who has no idea about game balance but tried to play nice showcasing some ridiculous thread with pictures, to pretend that you are serious about this :))
But for the fun of it let's answer your silly arguments:
"Firstly - What? How is buffing solo queue by giving Kindred to them going to affect SWF at all? They're already in the possession of that info. All these changes serve is bring solo queue in line to that power level so Killer can be balanced around it. If you cant comprehend that,we have nothing to talk about."
-I never said anything about Kindred having to do anything with SWF. I said baseline kindred is a stupid idea and you need to sacrifice a perk slot for it. And also it will not be "activated" during slugging (so greedy now), because it is a perk meant to help with hook camps, and you don't turn slugged survivors into moving aura reading beacons, just because it would be cool for your preferences :))
"Secondly - I didnt' say all maps should be the same size and super small. I said we shouldnt have the entirety of the Yellowstone National Park as a map. That size is stupid."
-That is YOUR personal preference. Maybe others have different preferences. I like larger maps also. And of course variety is good, so big maps are perfectly fine too.
"Thirdly - Look at medkits from a pure time-efficiency standpoint in generator seconds. If a survivor gets injured after 10 seconds in chase and makes it to a god loop that the Killer decides is not worth chasing (correctly) - them healing in 8 seconds with a green medkit and half-an-addon is insane efficiency and killers snowballing."
-Again. I think medkits are fine, Killers can sacrifice a perk slot to counter them it's part of the game. The medkits don't need a nerf really
"Fourth - :) Why not buff DS? You want tunneling to stay? My,your bias is showing."
-because your "buff" ideas are stupid. especially stuff like disabling killer powers, making them work on all hook states. You already have base BT, but of course greed knows no limits. So based on your suggestions, all survivors have power disabling DS, high stun times on all hook states, and if not picked up they turn into aura reading beacons with base Kindred?
Yeah it's a good thing you are not a game dev, probably you would reduce the game population to 0 in under a month :))
bro i play killer more than i play survivor lmao. most of this thread is "how killer should be buffed instead". the only survivor "buffs" here are bringing solo queue in line with SWF more + killing tunneling.
but sure, biased survivor main. yeah. defo.

@emetSdidnothingwrong said:
I'm surprised, I don't disagree with most of what you purposed. I could nitpick the things I disliked but I'll just say on a whole I agree with most of your ideas. That being said, none of this will happen except for maybe the Nurse nerf.
I mean of course a lot of people will disagree with the exact details and bits and pieces of how things should we done. That's completely normal. The amount of people who genuinely think that we shouldn't go and look at maps/items/addons/perks/killers individually while buffing solo queue is mind boggling to me.
-
Re-iterating my point - Killer will always and should be more stressful than survivor. You're one player with (theoretical) equal strength to the other 4. You naturally have more to manage and will have to input more. If it's suddenly on the same level of difficulty to manage, that means that you're being handheld as Killer in some way. How hard is that to understand?
-
@Tsela said:
Nice presentation, although I disagree with almost everything in it, at least it looks cool. Everyone has personal preference about how they imagine a game, you are no different of course.
Now about your solutions:
- Buff Solo Queue players by giving them baseline Kindred and baseline Kindred for when people are slugged for longer than 16 seconds.
-No, you don't get separate buffs for solo Q, every game adjustment is global. The difficulty in random teams comes from your random team members not being as invested or skilled, or interested. It's the same in every game when you team up with random people instead of a team you are used to and play together often with comms and such. Plus the baseline Kindred probably will never happen. There is already a base BT, but base Aura reading of the killer without perk investment is a horrible idea and of course it shouldn't be done. And naturaly you will not turn slugged survivors in aura reading beacons.
- Significant nerfs to medkits. They're way too strong. Brown medkits should be at 0,5x speed and Green Medkits should be at 1,25x speed at most.
-Medkits are fine as they are in my opinion. But if you want to change them around a bit let's say we nerf their flat healing and buff the skillcheck or something.
- Overperforming maps should be looked at - Cowshed/Springwood/Garden of Joy - all of these maps need nerfs, they're substantially skewing the results of all games in DBD.
-I'm not sure most maps are realy that bad, except the new RPD which can be a real pain depending on survivor teams or killers
- Buff & Rework the most underperforming Killers, especially those without much of a chase power,or those countered by information sharing between survivors. E.G Hag,Sadako,Myers,Trapper.
-All killers are followed closely based on their global performance and the game is updated accordingly, I presume. Buffing them around information sharing in mind between survivors makes no sense however, since the game was not designed with direct information sharing in mind, which is why we have aura reading perks and such. SWF comms are pretty much acting as a cheat the game wasn't designed for, therefor, probably SWF should be restricted to custom games, and the game balanced around SoloQ
- Nurse needs to be significantly nerfed - she brings an infinite myriad of issues, not only ignoring any survivor skill and bringing the game down to "Is The Nurse going to ######### up or not" and making perk design problematic with dozens of perks needing to be nerfed due to her.
-well Nurse is Nurse.
- Revert the baseline cooldown & speed burst changes. - those are really, really bad and should be reverted.
-I think they are alright for the time being, they are very low requirement features
- All maps should be smaller. There should be no map as large as Shelter Woods & Red Forest.
-That would be quite boring and we need variety. No, not all maps should be small, and there are killers and survivor perks which perform better on smaller or larger maps. Nobody needs to dumb down the variety in the game even more, even if it feels sorta fun to imagine that every map is just as small with high concentration of pallets and loops. Size variety is perfectly fine to keep the game fresh.
- DS should be brought to 4 seconds, with it disabling Killer power usage for 6 seconds and active on both hooks.
-Ahh you are getting greedy now. No. It will not happen. :)
- A nerfed version of Corrupt Intervention blocking two gens for 30 seconds or until a survivor is downed should be introduced basekit.
I personally never cared about Corrupt Intervention much, it's a matter of taste, but I prefer perks that stay useful through the match. However Making it basekit is just as much of a silly idea like the Kindred basekit you mentioned. If people want these they need to invest perk slots in it.
Anyway, cool pictures and all nice job, just your idea that one or another role should be "more stressful" makes no sense and I don't quite agree with most things you said there of course.
"Wanting this game to not be a 50% split between kills and esapes is unhealthy. This isn't a story mode or a singleplayer game. It's a multiplayer game - you should try to give everyone an equal chance."
Well already everyone has equal chance, but some survivor players perform better and others perform worse. Same goes for killer players. And before you bring it up, yes 39% escape rate is quite good in a 1v4 multiplayer game
Firstly - What? How is buffing solo queue by giving Kindred to them going to affect SWF at all? They're already in the possession of that info. All these changes serve is bring solo queue in line to that power level so Killer can be balanced around it. If you cant comprehend that,we have nothing to talk about.
Secondly - I didnt' say all maps should be the same size and super small. I said we shouldnt have the entirety of the Yellowstone National Park as a map. That size is stupid.
Thirdly - Look at medkits from a pure time-efficiency standpoint in generator seconds. If a survivor gets injured after 10 seconds in chase and makes it to a god loop that the Killer decides is not worth chasing (correctly) - them healing in 8 seconds with a green medkit and half-an-addon is insane efficiency and killers snowballing.
Fourth - :) Why not buff DS? You want tunneling to stay? My,your bias is showing.
Actually..yeah this statement is already insane and stupid. I am not gonna spend more time.
SWF comms are pretty much acting as a cheat the game wasn't designed for, therefor, probably SWF should be restricted to custom games, and the game balanced around SoloQ

Oh while this thread defo has a ton of valid points imo it was a bit of a humor moment. Hence the little frosty eyes billy picture at "killers are frustrated segment". This game is silly,I cant not point that out.
-
FYI:
I really get Killer frustration especially at times like 5.3.x when Survivors healed in 3 seconds and then DH'd to one of 600 pallets on cowshed. This isn't addressed by baseline changes,as those are just generally "win more" for any strong Killer instead. Instead you want to do individual changes. This game's balance is intricate. You can't go at it like a chimp with a machine gun.

I would also love this, but just to set expectations realistically, this is becoming increasingly more difficult to do, so we likely won't be able to share those types of stats as frequently as before. Between the number of Killers in the game and such a granular scale of ratings, showing how each Killer performs at each rating range is a very tall order. That's before we factor in things like regions which play a very heavy role (Self-Care in today's stats being a prime example). So I wouldn't say never, but you'll probably see more focused stats like these ones that reflect on something that was changed rather than everything in the game.
Can you please give us Killrates per-killer past the softcap?
-
I've loaded into several matches in a row with cheaters who insta did 5 gens and left. I am tempted to try and fish for them, while running Corrupt Dead Lock And No Way Out just to mess with them. I really want to see their faces when all the gens get blocked and they cant do them KEKW.

Every time I've been on ever since incentives were re-added, it's almost always predominantly been Survivors that received the increase in Bloodpoints.
As someone who wants to primarily play Killer, this is kind of frustrating since it means I'm either having to play a role that I don't typically want to play, or I'm playing a role that will practically never get the extra Bloodpoints from the incentives.
There's probably only ever been one time where I've seen the Killer get at least a 50% increase in Bloodpoints, and never even a 100% increase.
I think the incentives are working way too well and there may or may not need to be some tweaks to make it fair for both sides. Maybe not artificially putting it on one side or another, but maybe an additional incentive for the other side to have in the meantime if the incentives are too predominant on one side?
No? The incentives are there to get people to play the side that's needed. Besides,Incentives will only get survivors on the level of average Killer BP gains anyway. If you're gonna complain that "oh noooo why cant i get incentives for killer",maybe ask for significant buffs to solo queue.

DBD is still recovering from the over-correction of increasing gen times and giving killers shorter times to down in a chase (and this is coming from a killer main). That big change really made for some boring matches, win or lose.
It seems when I play survivor, it is usually a 4K. I'm below average on survivor but I doubt I am the reason for so many 4K's.
When I play killer, it is almost always a 3K and 4K which was quite foreign to me in the past. The only time there was a 4Escape against me was when I chose DeathSlinger to do an orange glyph challenge.
That said, it is getting better again as devs make their micro-adjustments.
Yeah... I've been having such a skyrocket in my killrates the only time I lose is when the survivors bring the mosted busted stuff in a group or I make tons and tons of mistakes + they get good map RNG.
They really should've addressed issues per killer + maps.

Welp I can't blame you for that. I've pretty much always been a killer main but I do swf with a friend quite a bit nowadays. I think it's because of how much I genuinely hated DH before 6.1.0 that I could just never play survivor. But now I do really enjoy it.
I honestly prefer old DH as both sides. Hitting a hatchet and seeing a guy go from shack to the other side of the map 500 meters away is the most frustrating thing ever and getting tunneled so dh doesnt work/it not working in general is frustrating.

I've seen people do some wacky things with Hope, mostly duo plays. I still need to level up Yoichi for his stuff. Is PG good?
I pair it with Iron Will and a medkit and it becomes an extremely powerful tool. It's a good pair whenever you wiggle too,as when you wiggle you stun the killer and get it proc'd. It's on demand old IW + lucky break in chase. Pair it with smash hit for insta win.

I would like to take this thread to once again inform people of adrenaline vials downsides that you would never know unless you played with it.
Adrenaline vial is extremely good when put up against people who just want to pre drop pallets, that really is its best attribute. But along with it's decreased turn rate comes a lack of directional velocity and a worse ability to try and get collision due to the longer amount of time it takes for the rush direction to start turning. What I mean by "directional velocity"(I'm using Liliths terms here). Basically once you start the lunge phase of your lethal rush you are committed to that direction, meaning anyone who knows how to wiggle or spin can easily dodge you unless you get a shoulder flick. A shoulder flick is just using the large extremely short initial hitbox blight gets at the start of a lethal rush to guarantee a hit when blights hitbox is connected to the survivor. Any map with finicky collision becomes way harder if you are running this add-on. Now that's not to say that the combo of c33/adrenaline vial isn't extremely busted, but that's really just how op c33 is not adrenaline vial.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3181706#Comment_3181706
I definitely think it was way more doable to go against alch ring before 6.1.0. That 10% less distance really take's away a lot of safety from survivor's now. When I use it, I do kinda feel bad because some maps depending on where you get hit just don't allow you to make it anywhere now. Though I also feel survivor's play against ring wrong, if you are trying to b-line it to a tile a good bit away knowing blight has alch-ring that was your mistake. Especially when you got hit at a long wall with the pallet still up. If you run into a blight with alch ring play the tile until you have a better understanding of the distance you can make on him before he catches up.
I also think survivors assume everyone uses alch ring/green speed because of the power level it gives but in reality its more like
Alch ring = rush more, more rush more fun. Green speed = rush faster, faster rush more fun. Though I am not saying this is all blights thinking or anything like that.
Neither of these statements were directed at the quoted posters, just piggy backing.
i mean you could apply that logic to nurse range before 6.2.0 "more speed more fun" it's not fun for the other side though,is it

I gotta agree with the others here. Being super passive doesn't really get you anywhere, especially when it's something people have been talking about for a while. Being more in your face to BHVR about this doesn't mean people are trying to be rude, and I have no clue why BHVR wouldn't do accessibility issues out of spite because people are asking for it in a less than passive manner. Historically, people have had to be loud in order to be heard and this isn't any different. Like, I'm sure if enough people brought it up, the devs would add a feature to mess around with in-game music. But if we don't bring this up and have a genuine conversation about it, BHVR will never listen and they won't even consider making any changes.
Historically even with BHVR,we had to be loud about colorblind options for the devs to go back on literally calling it stupid or whatever and actually implement that.

Again, perfectly reasonable.
Like I said, accessibility options would be great. For example, I would personally love an option to turn off the in-game music, since it gives me headaches sometimes.
I just dislike the attitude of the people advocating for the options. Why would BHVR be inclined to listen to someone about their disability issues when that someone is being an overly-aggressive bully about it? Why would making demands like you're picketing at a political speech change anyone's mind about anything? If anything, it just turns people off of the idea of making accessibility options, because you'd be letting the picketers into your community.
In my opinion, the ends DO NOT justify the means. There's no need for people to be rude and twist people's arms to get what they want. Being polite and rational is what gets you what you want in this world.
"because you'd be letting the picketers into your community." What does that even mean?
"THE WOKES ARE COMING INTO DBD OH NO" or what? I'm sorry, not sorry, but you coming here and telling me how to live my life and how to advocate for accessibility when you have no idea how polite and how helpful I and many other people were previously while advocating for this and how little that did is just you showing that you have no understanding on the topic and you just came here for conflict.

Can you please change your tone?
I understand you feel strongly about this topic—may even be personally effected by it—but Ben’s comments have been devoid of emotional bias.
You’re attacking his character when you should be bringing constructive criticism to the table.
You can’t “win” an argument against a rational thinker by challenging their ethos.
You’re villainizing yourself by demonizing him, even if he appears apathetic to your problems.
I don’t have enough knowledge about photosensitivity to have a dog in this fight, but as a third party reading this conversation, it feels like you’re Sandra Bullock and this is the Blind Side.
No,not really.
They're trying to pass off me advocating for accessibility in a game I love as entitlement. They're not rational. They're just trying to look rational while they're just being either plain entitled or even ableist
I'm not going to engage in bad faith debates. I'm not gonna debate transphobes on why I should have rights. Same here. If a person thinks I'm entitled for wanting accessibility options, they're acting in bad faith and I won't engage in a debate with them.

Prove me to that photosensitive people are somehow forced to play Dead by Daylight (there's even a Dead by Daylight board game for crying out loud), or that demanding free work from a stranger isn't extremely entitled.
You can't. No one is tying people up and making them play DbD, making demands of strangers is just self-important and narcistic.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3180301#Comment_3180301
My problem is the sheer entitlement. Accessibility features are great, but acting like you deserve them just for existing or that BHVR are somehow being villainous for not doing something that pretty much no other game company does anyway is really just not something a reasonable person would do. I'm not going to ask that every little thing caters to my sensitivity to loud and irregular sound patterns, because the world does not revolve around me and my needs.
I mean, every video game requires you to stare at a TV or monitor for multiple hours, which is basically staring at a big array of flashing lights for an extended time. If you are photosensitive, this is already a bad idea before we even get into which game you are playing in particular.
It's not selfish to want to play a video game. That's a pretty normal want for someone to have in a first-world country. What's selfish is to make demands of strangers, and to make them out to be bad people when they don't even know that you exist.
Do you get it yet? I understand that people want to play a game, I just think it's childish to demand for people you don't even know to conform to your needs instead of you going "ah, I shouldn't play this game because it has too many flashing lights." My problem is not the features themselves existing, but rather the way people go about asking them to be implemented and an outright refusal to simply fix the problem on their own by playing a different game instead. It's just screams to me "I think the world revolves around me. The world should change to fix my problems, instead of me changing to fix my problems."
Accessibility features are great, but don't act like the developers are at your beck and call and are obligated to serve you like dogs. They are just ordinary people doing their jobs.
"My problem is the sheer entitlement. Accessibility features are great, but acting like you deserve them just for existing"
God I just noticed how big of a dogwhistle your post is. Tons of homophobes and transphobes use this exact rhetoric of "I don't hate x,I just don't like how entitled they're acting", telling queer people how they should advocate for their rights.
If you're not affected by these issues, but feel like you're entitled to the right to complain about how we advocate for accessibility - you're not. You're just entitled because you're in a position of privilege. Go away.

"no other company does anyway"
You know just because it's done or not done by giant capitalistic entities looking for profit doesn't mean it's good.
But hey if you want to shill for companies AND be ableist, pop off king, good luck with that.
Also the "me changing to fix my problems". Bro,go and find a cure for photosensitivity. I'll wait. A whole lotta talk from you, still no sense.

I’m amazed at how many people there are trying to argue against this.
Making a game more accessible isn’t a bad thing in the slightest. I’m lucky enough that I don’t have seizures, but I do have sensory issues and the flashing lights just add to that. If I get the wrong matches I’m left with a huge headache and pretty much can’t function for a while. Not to mention that I’m hard of hearing and can’t always make out when the Killer is coming to me unless I use Spine Chill.
BHVR needs to do better in regards to the game’s accessibility. And before someone tries to say something, it’s not selfish to ask for better accessibility. If I wanted to be selfish, I’d demand BHVR remove the Plague because of emetophobia, or remove the spider imagery because I love spiders and don’t like them being villainised.
people love being ableist 💅

You understand the lights didn't always flicker this intensely and this can literally kill people who are caught unaware, right?
People potentially dying to play a game of any kind is not good. No one "needs" the intense rapid flickering, even if you aren't dealing with epilepsy.
It's incredibly frustrating when people bring forth concerns like this and someone says, "But it's intended that some people will just have seizures and shouldn't play the game!" Valuing an alleged "horror aesthetic" over people getting to play, or play comfortably is really wild.
Having the game be more accessible is a good thing, I promise! Telling disabled people they just shouldn't play is extremely terrible and shouldn't be a thing that is ever considered an option. On a long enough timeline, everyone becomes disabled. Have a little foresight and compassion.
While it's great they added a warning, I'm hopeful they just fix the rapid flickering. As it stands, I cannot play Haddonfield much, because I can only safely risk doing the outdoor gens. Most of the flickering in this game isn't that rapid or intense--so suddenly for just this one map, I am a detriment to my team in a game that is otherwise okay and safe for me to play as a person with epilepsy. It's a bummer.
Hearing people say I shouldn't play a game I really love because one map has a flickering problem is really off-putting from a community I love.
Good post!

When Pentimento is active, Survivors who works on gens getting a notification in the bottom right like Dead Mans Switch etc.
Dont sure what I think about it. Maybe just reveal every Perk from the beginning to survivors?
You physically saw "Hex:Pentimento" pop up and got cuesed when you got the effects applied to your actions since release.
What the hell is the point of this thread?

Okay, but the fact you're starting your "solo queue is full of trolls" with "I run autodidact" is hilarious.
Yes,run the meme perk that favors the killer 99% of the time 😈 So strong
