Wesker is a joke.
I really like the Oni's head,it's great. Otherwise garbage.
Also they've still not given Meg a blighted skin this is a crime

That is not how putting changes into a live system works. They need to do internal playtesting with the changed values to make sure they can't find any oversights, then they usually go to the PTB so that the community can abuse said oversights that get missed. Numbers adjustments are certainly less direct work than things like reworks or overhauls, but they aren't just something you type at lunch and push it to live by the end of the day.
Yeah supposedly that's how you'd do it..but judging from the state BHVR has released things in...if they really do skip that process..will it be any different?

What i'm hearing is that you want to throw the overal balance of the game out of the window as any long term data will be completely useless with perks that get changed every week
Killer had 85% killrate this week cause perk x was problematic, dropped to 35% the week after cause survivor perk y was overtuned. Overal 55% so balanced right?
You have no idea what you are talking about
Ah yes. Buffing something like Wake Up or Fire up will make all statistics meaningless. God you have no clue what you're talking about.
-
Like you've said it yourselves before that numbers tweaks are simple. Why cant we get a bunch of those pretty often? If anything proves problematic you can quickly nerf it.

Game designers worked on the Finisher Mori though as it's directly related to game design.
As well as gameplay programmers, animators, level design etc.
Genuinely,how difficult is it for you to add a bunch of numbers tweaks to the most used/least used perks every few hotfixes? Does that need 400 devs?

The PTB gives a very good overlay of what will be in the mid chapter patch (or any patch) and we made it pretty clear that this was a slightly different PTB in that the content wouldn't be going live immediately afterwards as we needed to get early feedback on it before anything was final.
Unfortunately, yes this does mean that there's very little in the way of balance changes in this update but there's a large amount of bug fixes, Event content etc so there's actually a lot in the patch.
That's great and all but as someone who was looking forward to at least some light changes I'm pretty bummed out. This game's been getting pretty stale lately and I would like more balance changes.
-

Regardless, I still strongly believe that all she needs is her range add-ons removed, her recharge add-ons nerfed in numbers, and her M1 to be counted as special
If they add back the stun into fatigue feature, that's a plus
I think her core design will still prove too problematic and limit this game's balancing.

Umm nerds arent meant to make killers unplayable...
A nerf is a nerf, and while nurse could do with some tweaks the strongest killer in the game is expected to be strong...
Kinda dumb otherwise, not every killer needs to be a push over and balanced for bad survivors. Imagine how bad itd be for every killer to be a weak M1...
you should Google the words sarcasm and hyperbole.
the meaning behind that reply that this nerf was extremely insignificant and the nurse is still overpowered.

@Entitled_survivor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3224771#Comment_3224771
So what would you propose?
Gut her recharge,range and 3 blink addons. Blinks are special attacks. Nurse is a 110% speed Killer who has to earn her power like Oni for a short time. Newer player experience is better as she has M1 andy chasing possibilities,doesnt limit every perk in existence and survivors can brace for impact when she gets her power. I would also nerf her blink's recharge rate.
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
Funnily enough I think one of the biggest buffs she got was when they finally got around to actually fixing her. As someone who played her since before she had any cooldown, I found one of the hardest things about Nurse was dealing with all her bugs and knowing all the dead zones in maps etc.
Now Nurse actually works as she was meant to, it makes her far more accessible for average players. Though I still maintain that actually getting really good with her still takes a long time and (the small minority of) truly good survivors will destroy most Nurse players.
Her skill ceiling is not that high but yeah,the skill floor has dropped significantly now that she is fixed. It's DH validation on steroids.
-
@Entitled_survivor said:
Just make her blink strikes count as special attacks so they wont work with exposed and she is fine,, honestly she might not be as hard as nurse players want to make her look but isn't as easy as salty survivors claim as well
She will still not be fine
-
@Whoudini said:
Only caveat to your rant here is when nurse does a blink attack she does not have decreased attack cooldown (hence why save the best for last does not effect this). So the attack cooldown buff did nothing in this regard only the reduced speed boost.
Honestly I forgot that it doesnt apply because you gain and lose STBFL stacks from her attacks and I've been insane and actually running it on her for an archive.
-
@Xernoton said:
Nurse is outdated. She is a relic of a completely different time. She got nerfed quite hard if you compare her now to when she was on her peak but she is still too strong. The problem is that BHVR seem to like Nurse's design, which is ok because she is a fun and engaging killer, and don't know how to handle her. They removed omega blink so I recon they know how strong she is but nerfing her without changing her base kit too much is not an easy task. If the second blink worked as a M2 she would be a bit less problematic but even more boring to face, since you would only see 4 slowdown perks then. But even that would not be enough for Nurse to not hold the game's balance back. We literally had to nerf Awakened Awareness just because of her.
Honestly she is way,way easier to play now for the average player now which is also a huge pain point. Not only do good nurses insta win matches,but average players can just use her pretty easy to use now kit (especially with 3 blinks and recharge) to ludicrously strong effect.

@Marik1987 said:
The major Problem is: every change is passively a Nurse-Buff.
Thats because Nurse doesnt care about game mechanics.
I mean kind of. But there's a been a lot of direct buffs to her and such an obvious indirect bfuf that should have been caught by BHVR but I guess they dont care.
-
@SoulKey said:
The nurse is wrong by design and it had its reasons back then when she was released.
There were infamous infinites (Literally) and devs wanted to address it, so instead of actually addressing the actual issue and fixing/reworking; they just decided to release a band-aid killer that ignores all mechanics of their own game.
Until she is reworked/tuned down, nurse will keep gaining indirect buffs whenever any good perk/general buff comes out.
i hecking love behavior and their signature band aid fixes

I don't think is much about backlash but rather the time to try and come up with a new power for her, test it, make changes etc. That time would better be suited dealing with the bigger balance issues in the game...maps for starters..
I think they just have no idea how to do it tbh. Same goes for maps. They seem clueless.

Yea the quality of teammates is very lacking these days and sadly I'm stuck in low hell getting teammates that have braincells the size of a dust particle or teammates that will DC or suicide when things don't go thier way.
I can usually break a early 3 Gen if my team can keep the killer busy or don't do those gens while I loop the Killer.....
I would really like a Visionairy rework where it incorporates Deja Vu with white auras and a permanent repair bonus to those 3 gens. Also remove the cooldown. Maybe we'll get it run more often!

Thats why I think that Nurse needs a full Rework to keep her interesting and strong.
I dont really think that you can nerf Nurse, because she will always be too strong unless you nerf her so hard that she is too weak. And that should not be the goal.
But the Devs will never rework her, they fear the backlash. Even if it is needed, Nurse should not exist like this in 2022. In 2016 with actual Infinites and lots of broken stuff she was justified, but not nowadays.
yeah Nurse is the biggest hindrance to this game after the maps it's tragic. Imo a cool rework for her would be making her a 110/112,5 killer that has to earn a weaker version of her current power for a time like Oni. Would make her nicer for newer players and less overpowered in the hands of the stronger players.

I agree a machine gun approach is a bad idea because then a power creep scenario can occur easily. This way also looks over other aspects that need looked at as well, for example they increased Gen times so in turn they nerfed Gen slowdowns as a whole while keeping or buffing Gen reduction perks. But what they overlooked was the Perks that made Gen Rushing such a issue for non mobile Killers. Because of this oversight and new perks Gens continue to fly and makes the need of stacking Slowdowns which forces the Gen Rush mindset....it's a toxic loop of annoying situations.
The thing is that they buffed gen regression in a way where it's not that good vs coordinated SWFs but vs solo queue players it's the nastiest ######### ever. What as a solo player you can do vs your team 3 gening while the killer has eruption overcharge call of brine jolt? Nothing.
At least with ruin undying you could do bones yourself.

@VikingDragonXii said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3224154#Comment_3224154
Yea but they said that was the best example they could think of. But yea Nurse have become a Power Creep in her own right because of the net changes that was needed for Killers as a whole, but this also benefits high skilled players as well that didn't need it because of their skill but benefit from it.
But now because of so many players making Matchmaking so horrible because of their actions many are feeling it at all skill levels.
Still of the opinion baseline changes were a bad idea. Individiual Killer and Map pain points were the main problem imho. Their general machine gun approach has resulted in the strongest killers receiving buffs and the weakest survivor groups being steamrolled. Alas,BHVR cannot think of a surgical approach on the entire game.

Thats a very specific argument to try to approach in such a broad manner. My point again was that those two things are not mutually exclusive, you can agree with one part while completely disagreeing with the other, especially with how vague the latter one is.
I'll be honest the broad take is because I was just tired and wrote this at like 6 am my time lmao. Wanted to just voice my frustration at a specific silly take that I saw being shared around

I mean thats cool and all, but its so unfocused you're probably not going to achieve what youre going for. The killer is supposed to be the power role, but that doesn't mean that they should get 3-4k's every game. You're mixing two arguments that arent mutually exclusive.
The killer needs to be the power role because they need to consistently be able to have the advantage in at least 1v1 situations, as they are also balancing the other 1v3 simultaneously. They are doing the work of multiple people and their role needs to reflect that increased requirement. When people can 1v1 at high level and force lose/lose situations on the killer, it diminishes their standing as the "power role" while doubling down on how outnumbered they are. Its a discussion about agency denial and disproportionate potential in each of the 4 survivors more than anything.
I am not mixing two of those arguments. I am talking about one specific argument where people say "killer = power role which means survivors should die often" for some reason.

Well your last point shows she did get a nerf.
And gens may take longer but most regression perks got gutted so if anything it equals out.
Very Old nurse could have more than 3 blinks, but those blinks get massively less distance and it's why range addons are way better.
Any vet will remember versing 3blink nurses with ruin (which forced great skillchecks or your gen regressed) pop before all its nerfs. Not to mention you had less perks to help you against the killer and yet we still won.
Shes not been buffed at all in anyway, vets just delt with the game and got on with it instead of complaining but that's what happens when games become more popular
People were garbage at the game back in the day,lmao. Killers still got 4Ks with infinites,double pallets and all the good stuff.

5.5.0: you forgot that if you only had one blink and the second 99ed, and started charging, both blinks would recharge from 0. Since her recoding, the recharging restarts where it left
That, along with the pallet stun into fatigue removal, were two major buffs she really did not need
Right,that escaped me. Faster recharge for her blinks yayyy. I've seen the green recharge addon so much I forget that she got a recharge occasionally tbh.
God what a stupid killer..

@Sandt21 said:
What you are describing is a phenomena mostly seen in MOBA games called "Power Creep". TO put it as simply as possible, Power Creep is when a character in a video game either strengthens or weakens not because of any change made to the character itself, but instead by changes made to the game around the character instead.
For example, a few years ago in Overwatch, the effectiveness of shields was heavily increased. Shields reduced the incoming damage of each projectile that hit the shielded character. Now, is a single rocket from Pharah hit the shield, the damage decrease would be so minimal it might as well not exist because the damage was done by a single projectile. But Reaper used duel shotguns that shot ten projectiles per gun per shot. Each individual pellet from the shotgun was a seperate projectile, so each pellet got its damage reduced. This was a net nerf to Reaper not because of a change to him, but because of a change to the game around him.
That's the best example I can think of to explain Power Creep. Now lets apply that to the Nurse. While the Nurse has seen some changes that made her weaker, she has mostly gotten buffs not to herself, but buffs though the introduction of powerful perks that synergize with her power quite well. Power Creep in a nutshell
I hope this explanation has been helpful
I dunno. There has been a lot of buffs directly to nurse and then an indirect buff. This isnt just power creep,this is just BHVR not even thinking about making Nurse make sense in DBD's balance.

A nerf that made 2 of her addons go from extremely overpowered (which they got buffed to with 5.5.0) to still extremely strong.
Oh no. This nerf is sure to make Nurse unplayable. Oh wait.

On top of the fact that the stats you're referring to are so broad and unfiltered that they're almost meaningless, I've never fully understood how the term "power role" is being used in these discussions.
To me, "power role" must surely mean the role that inherently has more power in terms of core design instead of live balance, so... obviously killer is the power role and always has been. The killer can't be removed from the match, the killer must be either stunned or ran from, and so pretty obviously killer is the power role. As survivor, you can die. As killer, you can't.
So... yeah, of course the killer "should" be the power role, and it is. It has been the whole time.
Yes,by that definition they are. I've just seen a lot of people wanting Killer to be so threatening survivors rarely escape because "power role should be scary" blah blah. Hence the thread. I saw one too many people parroting that rhetoric,which seems super unhealthy imho.

So by now it’s fair to say that Haddie is one of the least played original characters. But why is that you may ask? Well let’s look at Haddie’s short history in the game to see why she’s so unpopular within the community.
Even before her launch Haddie was being teased by BHVR through different tome stories. These tomes depicted different versions of Haddie which was already a pretty big mistake imo. If I liked one interpretation of Haddie and that wasn’t the one we got I’d be pretty disappointed for example. Otherwise it was a great idea to have a survivor being teased in the lore and a survivor who has a closer connection towards the entity.
Then comes Haddie’s launch. She releases with one of the most unique original killers being the dredge and the horribly designed yet cool looking garden of joy. Her three perks Overzealous, Residual manifest and inner focus are all Niche, Underpowered and quite frankly pretty boring perks. Since survivors are bought for only their perks 90% of the time this was already an issue. Dredge became the focus of the chapter as most killers do but to a much greater extent since he was such a departure from the norm
On the cosmetics front she wasn’t much better. She launched with the least cosmetics of any original survivor and still has the lowest to this day. Since her launch she has received 2 cosmetics and both of which have been time limited offers. One was through the anniversary event tome and the other as a prime gaming promotion. Her 1 store skin is a locked set which severely limits her cosmetic variety and potential for cool mixed sets
Now let’s say you’re a new survivor looking at the roster to decide a main. Haddie has the least cosmetics of a original survivor, 3 mediocre perks and a design that appeals to less people than most
So BHVR I only ask please give Haddie the attention she deserves since she’s one of the coolest original survivors you have created!
Sincerly one of the 2 Haddie mains
TL:DR: Haddie’s launch sucked and her future looks about as bright as adam’s or Jonah’s if not worse
adam and jonah both have some really good perks
unlike haddie

I know, i know: I wil ultimately decide if i will play again, but i'd like some insider info from y'all on how the game currently plays and how it is compared to 1 year ago, if you can still remember that.
Pour your heart out here all you want, i promise you that i will read it all!
'Kay, looking forward to many replies!
The new survivor meta is kind of fun. Lots of variety and fun builds to try.
The tunneling has somehow gotten worse,with the DS butchery.
The new killer meta is actually EXTREMELY less fun if you're playing solo queue as 3-gen eruption gaming is impossible to counter if you're in a solo team. Expect to see tons of 3 gens.
Playing Killer feels kind of easy,rarely losing to high caliber players in good maps with strong items.
Would I come back if I were you? Nah,you're not missing much. Somehow this game gotten substantially more stale than before the shake up. Also they buffed Nurse multiple times now with a minor range addon nerf. So that makes sense.

I don’t think it has anything to do with tiles. There’s just some minimum amount of movement and time, unknown to me, that the survivors need to continue to move to avoid getting crows. And they only go away if you repair generators for another unknown amount of time to me.
OP could have repaired generators while the killer was AFK.
In my experience it is just tiles

So I was playing a game against a plague, they managed a 3k since others kept cleansing at every chance they got and when the third survivor died I was the last left and tried to find the hatch. Turns out though the found the hatch the moment 3rd survivor died, but they refused to close it. I snuck past their field of vision wanting to make a cheeky play and possibly outlast them by walking from obstacle to obstacle. The entire time I was staying near their terror radius but out of sight. The killer though was actually AFK just standing on the hatch and I krept closer and tried to nudge their body off the hatch because at this point i was being held hostage.
Didn't matter though because an AFK crow spawned on me, and the killer didn't move because they were still afk though I've been moving the whole time. The crow stayed on me for a full minute despite me moving around and I think eventually the killer came back then closed the hatch because the crow alerted them of where I was.
Like do AFK crows just spawn like that even if you're moving? Especially near the killers TR?
The logic requires you to be moving between tiles,I think. It not taking the Killer TR into account seems a bit silly to me
