Nah, people just need to play it more often to learn the layout more. Once you know your way around it you're pretty good to go. The only things that need to be fixed on it are the lighting issues on lower graphics settings, seriously the map is DARK on medium and make hatch spawns more consistent. I enjoy the map more on killer because killers like Pig and Trapper get surprisingly good use out of it if you bring in the right addons and stealth killers get to shine on it too. RCPD isn't everyone's cup of tea but I always welcome maps that shake up the formula a bit, I'd rather be getting that than autohaven for the 20 millionth time.

THANK YOU! Yeah it needs some tweaks like block off some hallways and close up some doors (and fix that god awful window in the office area) but other than that the map is really fine.

  • We get it a youtuber said its a bad map now you don't like it. Quit the bandwagon already.

  • Tbh they should simply sell recolors from the Rift in the shop. Recolor rift outfits and sell them in the shop so people who missed it still get a version of it and people who grinded for it get an exclusive version.

You know, I would appreciate it if you didn't attempt to put words in my mouth, as I never said there's anything inherently wrong with a Killer having good add-ons. (If anything, I'm actually of the opinion that too many Killers have bad add-on combos, like Ghostface.)

The issue with Spirit's add-ons isn't the fact that she has strong add-ons. I love Myers and he has some really strong add-ons.

The issue is that she has many add-ons that flat out do more then intended, and boost an already amazing Killer to insanse levels of power. It's pretty much like Nurse before the add-on rework, where all of her add-ons where insane.

If you have a Killer who is already really strong, they probably don't need insanely strong add-ons to boot. She doesn't have really any fun, weird add-ons- just really, really strong add-ons that only get better and better.

Again though, I would suggest if you haven't watched it, even if you'll ostracise me for it, to take a look at Otz's Spirit Add-On video to see what I mean for her add-ons doing more then intended. He explains it much better then I can.

Yes I've seen it its just bandwagoning because NO ONE cared abt her add-ons UNTIL that video came out. Once again I fail to see how a FIVE percent speed boost to her phase is broken. Nerfing her add-ons won't even 'fix' whatever problem people scream about her because her add-ons weren't ever a problem until a popular youtuber said they were. You're way over hyping her add-ons none of which are insanely strong.

  • Understandable. I've never seen a survivor genuinely get mad a killer DC they only get happy and gloat lol.

  • Tbh Chains of Hate. A cowboy map just really was never a good aesthetic, never liked deathslinger power or design wise, Zarina had potential but they made her face like REALLY shiny for some reason. Plus no good new perks so overall disliked for me but I can't say I hate any chapter since I think all of em came with good stuff.

    All-Kill.

It had a terrible killer that doesn't fit the game and never will, a forgettable survivor, and no new maps.

It doesn't get much worse than this.

All-kill is still more iconic than most chapters and Yun-Jin is an extremely well liked and played survivor sorry you didn't get your faves maybe next time xoxo

You're right, but Nurse also doesn't have add-ons that are as strong as Spirit's anymore (Man, I remember omegablink Nurse and old Prayer Beads- so nasty.), she's constantly bugged, and she has a power that many consider to be one of the hardest (If not the hardest, depending on where you stand in her versus Blight for difficulty- I personally think Blight is harder, but Nurse is definitely up there.)

If Spirit's power was more difficult to use or her add-ons were not so overbaring, I genuinely would not have an issue with her- as I don't mind some Killers excelling in the 1v1. (Deathslinger is a great example of this- amazing in the 1v1, usually struggles in the 1v4, doesn't have great add-ons but takes a lot of skill to get value out of his power. I might not enjoy facing Deathslinger, but I can at least admit he takes skill to learn, and I know some people really enjoy playing him. I really, really don’t think that Spirit takes as much skill to learn compared to many of her 1v1 counterparts. I don't think she's completely braindead, don't get me wrong (Though, she definitely has a lot of potential to be braindead, and many try to capitalize off of this as much as possible) but she definitely doesn't require as much as other strong Killers- be they overall like Nurse or Blight, or 1v1 focused like Deathslinger- and I don't think that's okay with how powerful she is.)

Idk, I can respect a good Nurse or Deathslinger, and while I don't enjoy facing the second one, I can at least appreciate that they're not easy to play. I think Spirit, currently, just has way too much breathing room for her power to be dummy easy between just base kit and add-ons. Afterall, this is the same Killer that for a long time didn't have a window vault animation, and is notorious for standstill mindgames.

Dude her add-ons give her such miniscule stat bonuses. I don't think a hardly noticeable 5% speed boost is a problem. And whats wrong with killers having good add-ons? Why do add-ons have to always be gimmicky useless tools which don't do much?

  • @unluckycombo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408683#Comment_2408683

I do play stealthy??? I know a Killer can't kill you if they can't find you lol.

That doesn't negate the issue though- I personally do not think that a Killer's counterplay should come from either gen rushing or not getting caught in the first place, because I don't think it makes for an engaging experience for either players. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen the posts about how awful 4man P3 Blendette lobbies are, and know where they're coming from.)

The only reason I even really let it slide as much as I do with Nurse is due to the fact that she does have larger downsides then Spirit. Nurse has been constantly riddled with bugs, doesn't have add-ons that are as strong and do more then intended (Because some of Spirit's add-ons do, and Otz made a great video about this a while back if you haven't heard about it!), and has a power that's far less forgiving. (This doesn't mean I don't think Spirit doesn't require some form of skill and doesn't have a bit of a learning curve, because she definitely does, but I really just don't think it's as big as it should be for her to be as strong as Nurse- especially when you also consider how many other Killers can be more demanding then her overall, but not get as much value overall as well.)

Trust me, I love playing Spirit, and I don't think she's OP (OP does not equal problematic, which is the implication I got from your post). That doesn't mean she doesn't need changes though.

(And to clarify, I say Killers like Plague do counterplay well because of how many options are there on both sides, and just how much those choices can effect gameplay, while still having really good add-ons. (Where some Killers have some pretty... questionable add-ons.) Idk, I just think Plague is a Killer that requires a lot of choices on both ends that really effect the entire game, and do weave together pretty well, even if she's not really the most loved Killer.)

Idk, I just think 'just don't get found' or 'just play stealthy' is a bit of a cop-out in a similar vain to saying 'just do gens'. Sure, those methods work, and they'll get you escapes, but at what cost? Games where you barely interact with the opponent? Games where Killers are encouraged to camp and tunnel because god knows that's the first person they've found all game? That's not really what I'd like to do on either side, and it feels like that's sort of gameplay that would be promoted, just based on what I've seen and understand of the tournament DBD scene.

Idk, I just think Spirit needs adjustments to make her at least a bit of opportunity for mid-chase counterplay. I don't want to see her get gutted or anything like poor Billy, but I want Survivors (myself included) to feel a bit better about facing a Spirit too. (And, again, this isn't an issue that just Spirit has, but I do think that she ends up being one of the worst offenders due to her Add-Ons being so insanely impactful.)

Lord I wish Otz never made a video about her add-ons. Even her add-ons are FINE they're literally so simple just like The Hag's but you don't see everyone screaming about The Hag's add-ons which have the same downsides as Spirit's. There's no way to nerf Spirit where she WONT become absolutely F tier in all honesty. She already has a 15 second power recovery, can't often use her power as a way to travel the map meaning shes stuck patrolling as a 110 killer more often than not, has no tracking tools, limited turning when leaving phase, and a large tell to others when she IS using her power for distance.

Sorry to bring it to you but we are not stuck in 2016. This is not a stealth scary survivor thing anymore, it is indeed about being chased. And even the nurse has counterplays and you can atleast react on her. Nurse is one of the strongest killer, still engaging and fun to face - not like spirit. And now wonder why. Maybe try to see it from the other perspective.

So im right? You just dont like her because you don't get to play how you want to?

  • @unluckycombo said:

I play primarily Spirit as well, and she is problematic. The only thing the Stridor change did is help take away a perk that made her extremely easy, and now people have to learn some of the more intricate parts of her power. (The parts where, once you learn them, the Survivor has nothing to do against it.)

I play a lot of Survivor as well. And there shouldn't be any kind of one absolute counterplay to her- but there should be potential in chase, outside of just gen rushing or relying only on perks like Houdini Build. (If you have to bring an entire build to attempt to counterplay a Killer's base power, I don't think that's a fair power.)

Imho, and this is as someone who's played both sides, Spirit's add-ons need fixed- they're really strong, despite her already being super strong, and unlike her competitors, there's no way for a Survivor to really get a decent guess on your add-ons mid-match. (Which, is something I've always believed should be possible, as it encourages the Survivors to use their brain and try to figure out the Killer they're versing, instead of just saying 'Let's hold W to win'.)

At the same time, Spirit shouldn't have a stand-still mindgame. Even if you want to argue you can just leave the pallet (Which, you can, and it's a strat that can work against a bad Spirit) there's absolutely nothing stopping the Spirit from waiting to see what kind of fakes/strats you're going to try and then just destroy you because she knew exactly the game you were going to play, while she gave you nothing. She should have a dedicated animation- not the weird loop she has now- along with possibly a small sound effect (such as glass breaking within like, 5 meters of her when she starts the intial phase- though, obviously this isn't required, the other one should be a given.) before she's seen as less problematic.

There's nothing wrong with not giving a Killer one, particular set of counterplay- Killers like Plague do it well, as you can argue many ways to verse her and succeed while she's still a very good, decently strong Killer that can adapt and attempt to play around the variety- but Spirit gets way too much for free, with there being little to no chance for Counterplay on the Survivor's end outside of hoping the Spirit is bad in chase. (A case you also see with Deathslinger, though arguabley less agregeous due to the fact that he doesn't have insanely strong add-ons.)

Learn to be stealthy? The reason Spirit seems 'op' is because you don't play her like you play other killers same with Nurse. Be stealthy stop trying to be a chase orientated survivor against Spirit's. Also "Killers like Plague do it well" no...no she doesn't.

Welcome to the internet. If you let something like that get to you you probably shouldnt be playing online multiplayer games.

You cna get friends together and make a custom lobby and practice with them if you want a more "fair" environment. Dcing does not make anything fair, if anything its unfair to the other 4 players in the match. So you are saying you "deserve" a fair game but the rest doesnt because you want to DC?

Lol I only play online games but DBD is the only game where being toxic is rewarded. In an FPS being toxic is neither rewarded, or punished and its only up to the individual player to see whos better yeah you'll get a tea bag but you can still come back from it. In DBD you can't come back if you're a new killer because you're FORCED to play in a high rank competitive environment.

Not everything is about wins, and DCing is about as self absorbed as you can get. Its the same as playing a board game with your friends and flipping the board because you are done playing for whatever reason. With that attitude no one will want to play with you. That is why we need dc penalties. I don't want to play with lil brats throwing a tantrum.

Killer or survivor it doesn't matter. You hit ready, you picked your set up, and then you need to see the game through. If its not going your way you just do your best and then move on to the next match.

I've said this several times its not about wins. This isn't about losing or winning this is about toxicity and the fact you aren't allowed to practice a killer in an actually fair environment.

  • It matters what the SERVER sees not what the survivor sees. A bad survivors ping will still get hit through pallets just like a bad killers ping will get denied a hit. Its not biased and it doesn't favor survivors.

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403345#Comment_2403345

You choose to play a multiplayer game by yourself don't you?

Than you know the risk that comes with it.

    You play a new killer?

Than you can expect to lose some games before you get the hang of them.

It doesn't give you the right to ruin the game for 4 people just because it doesn't go your way.

Do you think i sometimes enjoy the games when i play a new killer?

No, but i use those games a practice.

The survivors don't care about that?

Fine by me, it still doesn't stop me from trying.

I've had games as a killer who i play a lot that were really really difficult and only got 1k out of it.

    Did i dc?

Nope i just tried whatever i could to turn it around.

Some games it goes your way sometimes they don't, that's the risk of multiplayer games, just suck it up and deal with it.

If you can't than sorry but then multiplayer games aren't your cup of tea 🤷🏼‍♂️

Idc about losing its about the constant bullying people do the second they realize you're not the best at said killer or barely getting the hang of things. Also it doesn't ruin the game as survivor they still get a win and I've never actually heard of a survivor complaining a killer DC'd most of the time they just take it as a pride or ego boost and move on.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403352#Comment_2403352

By that logic, if a survivor is being facecamped they should be able to dc without penalty. Being stuck on hook while the killer looks that you isnt playing the game.

you still have a chance to make a come back and you're still buying time for your team on the hook. As killer no ones reliant on you but as survivor 3 other people are reliant on you.

  • @CapricornZeus3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270615/why-dc-penalty-for-killers

Bullied as in my friend that was just doing his job and looping a blight properly? Or bullied as in actual bully

Bullied as in geniune toxicity when you see a killer is new to playing a certain killer. last minute flashlight and key switching just to spam clicky clicky while I play someone like Huntress who I'm not a pro at. (admittedly this hasn't happened to me as huntress but has happened to me as other killers and a lot of other people even in my own games I'll see people doing it)

  • I have but hasn't it been like over a year? And everytime the tests are run everyone hates it or wants it gone? Last time I did MMR I played a meme build on Hag, got a 4 man bully squad which I didn't mind I lost too since I was just doing a meme end game build. But then I got matched with literal new players directly after.

  • @FancyMrB said:

All these excuses for DC crack me up... and then make me sad. How are there this many self centered people? Who are raising y'all???

DC = ruin game for 4 other people. Full stop. No excuses.

When you hit ready up you are saying your are ready to play no matter what. Not every game is going to go your way, not every game is going to be fun for you (no matter your side), and not every game will have players you agree with. That is the nature of multi-player games.

If you can't take that then go play a single player game.

Its not about being self centered its about actually wanting to play the game instead of being stuck with 1 or 2 killers that I can actually viably play in this environment. Survivors get a win if killers DC so whats the problem lol.

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270615/why-dc-penalty-for-killers

    Because it will be abused.

Oh I don't like this map so I'll dc.

The gens go to fast so I'll dc.

The survivors are better than i thought so I'll dc.

And there are multiple options as how it can be abused.

If a survivor dc they ruin the game for 4 people.

If a killer dc they also ruin the game for 4 people.

You can't just put a dc on one side and not on the other, just because some games don't go the way you want or hoped for.

Just play out the match and move on and forget about that one if it wasn't that fun.

Thats the problem is with match making the way it is you can't just 'move on and forget about it' you're kinda forced to play with high rank survivors even if you're just barely learning a killer. This is why survivor queue times are so high is because no one can just practice a killer or have fun because in higher ranks you're FORCED into a competitive sweaty environment.

  • Its a weird interaction I'm still not sure if it actually does or not but I do not believe so as I ran

Botany + self care + resiliance + desperate measures

and the percentage increase should be 56% so you heal 6% faster however when I used SC it still came out to 19 seconds so I don't believe it does and if it does have an effect its very minimal or decreased.

  • @OrionQc24 said:

    Just to help ppl maybe see that perk under a new light;

selfcare + botany knowledge+ iron will + resilience = this build revolves around looping. If you enjoy being in a chase this is for you! Basically you selfcare any time you have two seconds (after pallets, after vaulting, during mind games, etc.)

selfcare + bite the bullet + spine chill + desperate measures = this one is for immersed players that want to be altruistic. Alternatively you can use "we’ll make it" but it doesn’t benefit you. With bite the bullet instead of iron will you can be just around the corner healing in plain sight without getting noticed. A lot of killer use headsets and rely more on sound than even scratch marks and you’ll become accutely aware of them.

Note: Now…this perk isn’t designed to be as good or situational as some others. It is from your basic kit so it’s basic and I feel that’s what a lot of ppl don’t understand about it. Obviously you don’t bring that or very rarely in a red rank match but it’s completely fine in bronze where everyone is still learning the BASICS

    Desperate measures doesn't benefit you.

  • @OrionQc24 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403105#Comment_2403105

19s and you’d complain ? Tf xD healing with a teammate take 16 and it requires 2 ppl to be not working on gens. So it’s pretty good lol and how was I hostile ? Bc I call out facts and have numbers ?

No because you get extremely defensive anytime someone doubts you. And yes a perk shouldn't need 3 other perks just to work.

  • @OrionQc24 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403072#Comment_2403072

I brought numbers, combo and insightful commentary. What have YOU brought to the table ? Salt. Literally that’s all you did.

You're really hostile I feel like you just posted this to troll. Anywho even with a build solely dedicated to self care it brings the healing speed up to a maximum of 19 seconds. 3 perk slots to make 1 perk work. And I think I'd know if they were doing something else considering the healing animation is pretty distinct lol.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403060#Comment_2403060

And with Self Care you're healing by yourself while your team can push through gens. Inner is a bit better because it has the plus of countering hexes, but not by that much imo.

Correction, you're healing by yourself for 32 seconds, someone else is being chased, 2 people might be on gens. OR

Healing by yourself, someone is hooked or down, 1 person is saving, 1 person is on gens, killer still can chase one or 2 of those survivors and bring the survivors game to a stand still.

  • I've been put on 2nd state on hook countless times because people are too scared to play injured and save when the killer isn't camping and would rather SC 10000 feet away from me then try to run to me after being on full health. The perk is garbage.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

It baffles me people say Self Care is a bad perk but Inner Strength is an excellent one. Time wise Inner Strength takes way more time to get a full heal (searching for a totem + 14 seconds cleansing it + searching for a locker + 8 seconds inside it).

Self Care is not S tier, but it does help because instead of compromising half of your team for a single health state, you're only occupying 1/4 of it. Sure it's better to just take something like Second Wind or a medkit, but the perk is not the garbage people say it is. The problem is when people spend 32 seconds healing but then go down in 15 in chase.

Because you get a fast heal while doing other important things. Doing totems is important and you're rewarded for doing so.

  • @Clevite said:

Sorry, but I can't stand the perk. Why not just bring a medkit? I agree, solo is the hardest mode in the game, but it is because of teammates, especially those that are self caring and letting me hit second stage on my first hook. Soooo, I am not going to stop shitting on self care.

Perfect explanation. SC is a reason solo queue hurts lol.

  • As someone who basically only plays solo, stop running SC it literally hurts your team so badly unless you run an entire build dedicated to it and even then its still a 19 second heal :/

  • I would love the ability to prestige legendary cosmetics! Lisa and Cybil P3 would look sick!

  • I like him! I wouldn't mind if he WAS the killer but I personally would rather someone else! But I still don't mind if he's the killer :)

  • Only last minute switches or multiple flashlight P3 SWF lol

  • Highest I've counted was 37 with Trickster.

  • According to this EVERY killer is better than Nurse as well. Its also an All Ranks choice not purely red ranks.

  • @Crowman said:

Buffing the pig is kind of hard given how her RBTs currently work. Pig can kill a survivor without ever hooking them due to her RBTs and this alone can win her games. Maps like Midwich that are hard to navigate between floors + timer + extra box basically mean that at least 1 survivor is guaranteed to die by a RBT.

Without a rework to her power and updates to her addons, I don't see how BHVR could buff the pig without making her really oppressive.

I would love a rework to her power

  • @Exxodus21 said:

Pig has a higher kill rate than most killers, including Spirit. Why in the world would you think she's the worst killer in the game?

Source please? And is this taking in account ALL ranks or just Red Ranks?

  • @DerpyPlayz said:

Her traps are a huge time sink for survivors

Maybe, maybe not. Certainly not if you are playing vs good survivors.

She is a basic M1, with super light anti-loop potential. Meaning, if the survivors just do gens and can loop for a little, it can take you and will take you 30 sec to the entire game to down anyone yet alone get a trap on they're head.

Her ability is actually counter intuitive as well, you basically are declaring you aren't going to be looking for that survivor anymore, because if you don't and decide to go after that survivor, then the trap was really pointless putting on them in the first place. If you let them go, then they have a good chance of getting out of it, even with addons, first try.

Her lunge is a good tool, l2p

No it isn't, it can (if you are talking about her crouch lounge) only be used at certain loops, and they're aren't many you can do this with. In general however, she is SLOWER then the Nurse while crouching, which is absurd.

I think they need to rework her, but certainly they need to buff her.

    PERFECT EXPLANATION!!!

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

her traps need no buffs, they should never get a headpop on the regular, buff the crouch. dont know what else you would do

I'd really like a rework rather than just number buffs

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

I mainly just want her traps to be less RNG to make it fair for both the survivors and killer.

As it currently stands if the survivors gets the party hat off first time then its useless to the pig.

If it takes the survivor to the last box to get the hat off then it gives the pig a lot of time.

Or they might be insta killed by the hat depending on how bad the box spawns are.

I think her traps should be changed to actually have a set percentage instead of what it is now. It should be

    1st box = 25%

    2nd box = 50%

    3rd box = 75%

    4th box = 100%

but thats only if they keep the system of needing to go box to box to find the key.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 37
