No you obvias Tunnel in this situation just go for the unhooker.

I go for the unhooker everytime. Guess what doing survivor who was unhooked. Does he trying to hide? Does he trying to run away? Does he trying to heal? Wrong.

They go for a closest gen. Why? Because it's safe for next minute. He not being tunneled, but he under protection. I don't consider it fair.

  • Yes, I think protection while not being tunneled = bullshit.

  • OoO is actually good change. Currently SWF get a free info way too easy. And for casual solo survivior OoO is trash perk that will only put you in a trouble.

With the change SWF will not have their Eye of Sauron anymore, which is fair. They already have communication, which already make game easier. Constant info for every killer actions just removes any danger.

And for solo survivor changed OoO will be a good and reliable info rerk that reflect killer's aura when he see you with bbq and nurses calling.

DS is more than antitunneling perk right now. Survivor can do a gen for a whole minute, and killer have no right to touch him. This bullshit hiding under the mask of "protection from tunneling". If you have time to heal, do gens, do totems, you are obviously not tunneled. So you don't really need this protection anymore.

The only survivors unhappy with changes are obviously abusers. Survivors who don't rely on bullshit would not get affected by this changes.

I dont think were playing the same game, playing on an alt, got up to green ranks with it and ltierally there was no difference in gameplay from that alt account and my main, (rank 1 on my main btw) rank literally means nothing

I think main problem is rank reset. If ranks wouldn't reset, players would be calibrated by ranks more accurate. Now we obviously see some gamers that don't belong to their ranks. But rank does mean skill, because you depip if you perform worse, and you rank up if you perform better.

  • It is not a joke. I actually see huge difference in skill between green ranks and red ranks.

  • I used to be red rank survivor, but I haven't played much survivor for months. So currently I'm a yellow rank and I stuck there apparently. Killers on this ranks can easily fall for every fake and lose you with breaking line of sight. But teammates on this ranks seem to affraid of gens more than killer.

Since I started play dbd, I never understood the reason of rank reset.

  • Are you sure he was friendly? Maybe all this time he tried to convince you to run away?

  • Yes, it's probably most frustrating thing in the game. They are weak. You can't do anything with that.

They argumen that like they don't want to waste time and they don't care about teammate's fun. But actually they waste even more time in my opinion. Like they started game and cut it from start. Then they look for another game, and if they don't like it, they leave. Instead of 2 games they play 1,5. And that half of the game is actually one big wasted time.

Any game with bad start can turn out with comeack. Quiters never know that.

So many times we had rage quiter on start, and manage to get 4 gens before die. Obviously if he didn't leave, we would escape. But he probably don't like to play against certain killer. Even if person playing killer not that good performing.

  • I did this challenge for 5 trials. I actually completely forgot about this challenge and never look for glyphs on purpose. Just play normally and pick it up when you find it eventually.

Let's not exaggerate all of sudden. It just went from instant tag to less than a minute tag.

That said, the fact that the change happened, without any new killer released, is pretty... telling.

Allright, I probably exaggerate. It's now daytime and killer queue takes 6-7 minutes. I was expecting 10-15 minutes. And survivors queues is less than 10 seconds now.

My current evening queues last like day queues before update. It's about 5 minutes. I should try killer queues right now to make sure it gone worse.

  • Killer queues take forever now. As killer main I would prefer this desync issue was solved as soon as possible.

Haven't played as survivor yet, but from killer's perspective hits feel normal. I've seen videos about hitbox bullshit since 4.5.0 update. That probably explains why survivors running straight lines without trying to juke most of the times. They just don't realise that killers on screen are closer than they appear. Hit range probably match with red stain currently.

Also I often get on a other side of pallet after stun. It's a good opportunity to take enduring, but survivors' position is already awful, so it's better not to make it worse.

Have you played as a survivor lately? I didn’t experience all this toxicity until recently and it’s been pretty bad.

You bring up some good examples of using camping or tunneling as part of a strategy which is probably why you don’t have toxic survivors messaging you after the game. I don’t see those methods as toxic.

what I mean by toxic is when the killer deliberately does stuff out of the ordinary to ruin one persons game or to take the game hostage.

No, I haven't played survivor for a long time. But they didn't even arguing in post game chat with each other, so I'm not sure something will be different.

  • Yes, I noticed crows sometimes do silent purr noises, like they do when someone hide in locker. But it was 20 seconds from match start, so it couldn't be an afk crows. So I wasn't distracted by them, but it probably should be addressed anyway. It doesn't seem right.

  • Yes, I noticed that too! I don't like any recolors, but this low level of effort put into cosmetic not even funny. What the #########?

Your dislike things in the game play, on both side. Make the list clean and simple, but it can be as long as you want. Example (not my full list):

    Survivor:

    • Tunneling
    • Camping
    • Iri hatchet

    Killer:

    • 16 second chance perks
    • Gen rush

I would like to see the main problems of the game. Through the most disliked thing from players. Thanks.

Make a post about things you like to see in game play on both side!

  • Survivor:

    • Teammates suicide on first hook / disconnect
    • Killer hardcore tunneling of one weaker person
    • Killer opening gates / going afk / giving up

I hate playing survivor because I see my teammates giving up way too often.

    Killer:

    • Survivors sandbagging teammates
    • Survivors let Dwight die

It's hard to piss me off when I play killer, but this two things make me ######### mad.

You seem to be very lucky I’ve had so many toxic players I literally had a personality change from playing for everyone’s fun to playing for myself. I’m a very kind person normally but this games players made me a cold hearted person.

I don't believe in luck. There should be legit explanation, how do I get less toxic opponents.

I do play fair, but I can slug if i see another survivor nearby. I can tunnel person off hook if he only survivor I see, or even if he just closer to me. I can camp, if I suspect someone hiding nearby. I always return to hook if I failed to find someone else. I can hook last person even if he doesn't struggle. I never play like an ######### on purpose, but my gamestyle sometimes may look like toxic from survivor's point of view.

And in post game chat I always say gg. Most of the time they don't reply anything, or they may say gg back. Toxic survivors for me is just an exception.

  • I was playing as Hag on red ranks yesterday. Survivors most of the time were running into my face and die like lemmings for some reason. I didn't give a hatch to any of them. Constant 4k from one of the most annoying killers should probably get a lot of salty comments, right?

Not a single toxic comment was dropped for about 10 games. Someone even replied gg wp. My profile is open for any kind of commentary from any offended survivor. No comments were left.

Where do you guys find this toxicity all the time? Do we play same dead by daylight? I get toxic players sometimes, but they are soooo rare.

So answering to your question why there is so many toxic players, I only can answer that there is few toxic players and apparently they rarely play against me.

  • I played with third seal yesterday. In 6 matches they cleansed it once on match start, and once on match end. All the rest of my matches they didn't touch it.

Had a fun game on game map, when they all were blind and couldn't find a hook, so 2 guys died struggling for whole second stage.

I know third seal is not the best perk even for hex, but I like it anyway.

  • Well. Slug animations are great. Now they jump into a hatch like a seal into a pool. It's adorable. Most of survivors miss the times when they had full control on spinning while slugged, but I think it's a good change anyway.

  • I played killer a lot, and all hits seem normal. But I got one "how did that hit" moment, and probably one "how did that not hit".

  • I feel like I stopped paying attention to gens as killer. I played killer whole evening yesterday. Gens message so dim, I only look at it when I suddenly remember about gens remaining. I'm not sure if it's good.

  • I like most of new animations. But idle stand animation looks weird. It doesn't fit to every character. They look like kids asking if I have games on my phone. It would be absolute great if idle stand was unique for every character and reflect character's nature.

I don't like whole new UI. But worst part for me is probably tiny health bars. If I was new player, it would take a lot of time to figure that there is health bars and they seem to mean something. Health on hook, health on ground, deep wound status. All that bars are important and they should be clearly noticable.

  • I heard they did it smoother. Like before skillchecks was 30 fps and now it feels like 60 fps. Didn't played survivor yet, so I can't confirm.

  • I've seen once! I played Spirit and Nea accidently bodyblocked survivor I chased. They called her Nea the killer. But they all were friends playing together on live stream, so it probably doesn't count.

If you get a 4k as a killer then you will 95% of the time have toxicity, even though I say "gg" and "good luck on your next and I hope you have a good day" it is normally retorted by the survivors with "F off you J*w"

Sorry for your bad expirience. I do 4k and I recieve toxic messages from offended survivors, but not as frequent as you. I would say it's 5% of my matches.

  • Do you all really recieve toxicity this often?

For me it's very rare to see toxicity in post game chat. Maybe once in 30 games I have someone unhappy. Most of the time they don't say anything, or just say gg to my gg.

So I genuinely don't understand why there is such strong statement that "dbd comunity is toxic".

Teachables for the character would still be in the base pool of perks. This is solely on char and design

I pick yui because I think her story is boring and her cosmetics don’t appeal to me

If I was forced to remove, I would probably agree on Yui. I don't really like her dried athletic legs and absolute flat biker ass. Her look greatly justified by her lore, but I personaly find it unappealing.

  • I get used to Sprint burst. All other perks can be anything. Lately I was memeing with Plunderer's Instinct, Built to Last and Streetwise.

Secret of Sprint burst is never walk. Waste it everytime you need to run, don't save it. Only proper way to save sprint is running while you have it on last second cooldown when it possible. So when killer find you, you gonna be ready to sprint away.

Another perks I find extremely useful in solo queue are Iron will, Empathy and Borrowed time. Using it with Sprint burst was my sweaty build.

I'm going to miss being able to tell who is injured or not and who is my obsession.

Apparently however the designers of the UI figured that this was not useful information for us to know.

They also figured that red looks great on red.

And they said they think about streamers web cam placement. Apparently streamers doesn't need space for any other stuff like chat or donate bar, so every part of screen should be filled with UI.

  • It's a good nerf for swf, because they don't get easy info anymore.

At the same time it's a buff for solo survivors. It will reflect bbq and nurses calling auras, which is important info for solo survivors.

    THIS!!

    9. playing fair and think that survivors will appreciate it.

A Surv dont care if a killer plays "fair" ... Example : If i have tow guys in the Basement, then the Check is my House. it this nice for the Servs, NO!

Is it "Fair" Yes, iam the Killer

I remember I was playing as Hag. I did put traps under hook, because why not. But when I teleported back, I always chased guy that wasn't on hook. Hag is almost always easy win, so I expectedly destroyed them and I was ready for ######### talk about me playing most unfair killer in the game. But I was surprised that survivors appreciate my fair play at endgame chat. They even leave +reps in my profile comments.

I mean. You right, that you shouldn't expect survivors appreciate your fair play. But sometimes they actually do appreciate how you play.

He is still tunneling. I know, sometimes it feels good to drop everything and get that one guy. But it would still be tunneling. Doesn´t matter if he runs the killer for 1 minute or 5.

My point is you shouldn't be upset about being tunneled if you wasted more than a minute of killer's time.

People hate being tunneled because they get downed in 10 seconds right after unhook. It's ######### annoying because both killer and teammate drove you into that helpless situation. But if you run 60 seconds after unhook, you win. Killer lose a minute bacause he deside to tunnel you. And on top of that you want to punish him even more and run another minute. I think is not really fair to killer even if he tunneler.

  • So if killer tunnel a good looper more than a minute, it wouldn't be well... nessesary to have anti-tunneling perk.

  • OoO is not really a nerf. It only nerf for swf, but for solo survivor it's a great buff. So I would say it will be a healthy rework. Right now you can't get much benefit from OoO in solo survival, unless you are bold enough. But after rework it will probably become as friquent as Kindred.

And DS will be straight nerfed to the point where it can't be abused. So I expect it become a rare perk in future games.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1918968#Comment_1918968

I actually wouldn´t mind, if they take the 60 seconds timer completely away. After all, a good looper can prevent the killer from downing him for more than a minute. So why not make it a complete anti tunnel perk. But there would have to be a sideeffect of deactivating it during the EGC. Otherwise it would still be a guaranteed escape.

If survivor is good enough to run more than minute, why would he complain about tunneling? He performing his distracting role, so he should be happy that killer chasing him so long. So in that case ds wouldn't be antitunneling perk, it would be free out of jail card.

  • @Predated said:

Let me give you a full list of places where OoO is useful against, or at the very least easily confirms it's usage:

    Perks:

    I'm All Ears

    BBQ

    Nurses(massive one)

Bloodwarden(before the killer can hook someone)

Deerstalker(I mean, not THAT useful, but still a perk confirmation)

    Retribution(massive one too)

    Undying

    Lightborn

    Territorial Imperative

    Addons:

    All Seeing Blood

    Scratched Mirror

Vanity Mirror(which is already kinda bad as you still have a Red Light AND decreased movementspeed, imagine now having practically permanent aura readings against a stealth build, sure, OoO already does that, but at least current OoO is rare, the new OoO would be a meta perk)

    Glass fragment addons

    Amanda's Letter

    Amanda's Secret

    Renjiro's Bloody Glove

    Hellshire Iron

    Tattoo's Middle Finger

Leprose Lichen(which is very niche, sure, but it would be utterly useless once new OoO is meta)

    Glowing Concoction

    Restraint addons

    Hag's Willow addons

Essentially, there is going to be no reason not to run it. They better make it so that the perk doesnt light up whenever your aura is being shown, which I would assume would be the case. It already heavily impacts niche builds that are only effective because you dont know you are being watched. Even Distortion has limited uses and you dont necessarily know WHY Distortion is being triggered, let alone showing you where the killer is.

It basically means that, as a killer, if you want to use Aura based builds, you're going to need Third Seal.

Also such a rare perks as Bitter Murmur, Hangman's Trick, Territorial Imperative, Nemesis.

  • You somehow posted it twice. I suspect is your internet lagging. Maybe that is the reason?

  • I expect DS would be an F tier perk after rework. I'm ok with that. As survivor I found better antitunneling perk. And as killer I don't like to see survivors doing gens right after hook and don't run away.

  • What do you mean? New OoO would be meta for solo survivor.

  • Let it go. You still have unique charms. And rift unique recolors probably never appear in the store. Only original skins and only after big ass delay.

  • I like suggested change. It will make Object useful even in solo queue. And swf stop abusing it as ultimate info perk.

  • Problem of queue time is not because one side is easier than another. No matter how you nerf OoO it wouldn't change queue times.

There is more survivors because at evening time lot of people like to play with friends, because they are not busy and ready to play. Try to play at morning or daytime and you will see that killer queues take forever and survivors' are almost instant.

You can't change this balance that was build by real life conditions. You can't fix it with nerfing or buffing certain perks.

I wasn't saying it was a good strategy or something that the Devs need to worry about. I was just telling you that you theoretically could use undying and OoO to always see the killer because there's no cooldown.

Not always. Only if killer has undying and only when you around of 1 of 3 dull totems. I think any killer would be ok with that.

  • I didn't get what killer mains get?

  • I learned one trick. When flashlight user drop pallet and trying to blind me, I just look down to a pallet. Most of the time they just waste huge amount of flashlight charges on my bait.

Again, is this the only thing you had a gripe with? lol.

But yes I was hesitant to add that because I assumed it probably wasn't a massive issue, but I find it incredibly hard to find lockers on some maps. Maybe making it so it only activates when you have 0 hatchets instead since that's when you need to go and find them anyway.

I didn't read whole dissertation. Huntress changes are most interesting to me.

It's actually how it works right now. You see locker auras only when you out of hatchets. It's already default feature.

In my opinion Huntress is fine. Only thing that require rework is iri hatchets. And she also need some second red add-on. But I'm affraid devs won't be satisfied with only add-ons rework and decide to mess with her base power and make her barely playable without add-ons. Like they did with Billy and Nurse. Devs are notorious for fixing things that not broken.
