Handling survivor salt post game. I had to block messages from non friends it's so bad on ps4. If you kill everyone, they always have some reason you suck, if you get destroyed, they taunt you. I hate it.

Wait what dlc???

Pennywise, but the overlook hotel as a map!

Lol this is funny stuff

Thanks Devs.
Real mature. Everyone said they were God awful. Would you rather have them be idiots and release a broken ass system, or have them be smart and fix it first? Too many dbd players are entitled little c words, probably the ones that refuse to buy any content too
-
To everyone whining about Pennywise not being scary- can you please let me know which dbd killer is scary, because I don't know of any scary killers. But I'm largely dead inside and nothing scares me.

You are part of the reason why the gaming industry is so F'ed up nowadays.
Why because I have two nickles to rub together?

I'm all for original content but this game is not complete without Jason!!! Once licensing and ownership is settled that chapter needs to happen to make this complete.
Myers, Freddy, Leatherface, Ghostface and Jason Iconic Horror Legends. @Patricia Please remind Mathieu this completes DBD's Legacy.
Agree, but I'd say it needs Chucky, pinhead, Candyman, and the creeper as well (Jeepers creepers)
-
I don't even need to watch this video to know how stupid this contention is. So many crybabies that don't wanna part with their $5 bill. Well guess what if you cant pay $5 every now and again you can't afford a game that keeps updating it's content. Get a job, or if you cant or don't want to, don't try to make it the problem of employed people like BHVR. they're busy working.

"Guarding" you while you break the hex totem, despite the killer not having stealth and no hint of a heartbeat

I've had plenty of times as killer where I have not dodged a lobby where 4 people loaded in at the same time, and guess what? They weren't a 4 man SWF squad trying to bully me. I've also had times where I knew it was a SWF squad, but you know why I knew it was a SWF squad? Because they all had names relating to each other. It had nothing to do with the time they loaded in, it was all based on their names. Hell, most of the time when I'm facing a SWF squad, they load in at different times.
As for me being the last person joining these lobbies, considering it happens almost ALL the time, I don't think that's the case. I could be wrong, but considering it's very rare that I don't load in with the other 3 at the same time, I can't agree with that statement.
Again how would you know they weren't swf? Because they aren't toxic? My swf group isn't toxic. You can tell when swf join, you hear the swoosh sound once, and 2 3 or 4 join together. It is possible I suppose that two randoms join at the exact same millisecond, but not 4. Normally as killer of you don't get 4 at once there is up to 30 seconds where survivors are still joining after the first .

If you have trouble gaining BP, you can also use offerings to help out
It's not trouble getting BP's, you can use offerings with or without BBQ. It literally doubles the xp you get.

It was more about the fact that we were all David I think that set the killer into "Nope!" mode, lol. But yeah, dodgers suck. I still don't understand though, so many people say "If everyone loads in together I know it's a SWF" but I load in together with people all the time, generally all four of us at the same time even, and yet I am solo.
How would you know? You're probably the 4th person joining these lobbies. As a killer you can tell when swf join.
-
Why would anyone dodge a David king lobby? Usually David Kings run around like idiots, thinking they're some kind of tough guy, throwing themselves in the killers path and generally getting themselves killed. Its not like it's 3 dwights
-
I ise Leatherface a lot and do pretty good usually, even though he's God awful. I run ruin, pgtw, BBQ, noed.
-
@Snapshot said:
Whatever you do, DO NOT USE BBQ ON LEATHERFACE!!!
Reasons:
- You do NOT have the map control / time to head off to a gen very far away just because a survivor works on it. You power literally is made to catch survivors unhooking etc.
- Survivors EXPECT IT, will hide behind gen or in locker when you hook, leaving you no advantage whatsoever.
- Use that Perk slot for PWYF, it will not work every game, but just one stack is a god sent, trust me. People will wonder why you catch them at the loop and be VERY surprised. Also it is a very underrated perk and you can gain 2 stacks in 15 seconds easily.
- Leatherface has 1 hit down: only one PWYF stack lost.
- PWYF also helps carrying survivor to basement, no Agitation needed! Leatherface can benefit greatly from basement plays!!
Who cares it's double bps

A Cemetery, a derelict/capsized boat (like an oil tanker), a ww1 battlefield, an airport like the langoliers. Endless possibilities.
More though I'd like for them to add some ambient lighting effects, sounds effects, moonlight etc to the game.
-
They just went through this a few months ago. Don't think about the weapon being what hits, there is an invisible cone that extends out from the killer when they attack. They tried to make the weapon strikes match up with it but it's not exact.

Lately keys have been getting me. What trash. I've completely won but two get out because they have a key...... Fing stupid
-
I will always go for the unhooker unless I'm getting my ass handed to me already. BBQ stacks, and also its the nice thing to do, even though most survivors don't deserve it

@joker7997 I'm well aware what capitalism is. I've been a fiction author for over 25 years, plus have worked in licensing, table-top games, video games, television, and comics books for Marvel. I'm not only well aware of capitalism, but I'm intimately aware of the relationship between the entertainment industry and its consumer base.
So don't presume to preach to me. I've done it for a living for over a quarter of a century.
And if the companies and studios will not police themselves, then the government will eventually do it for them. It might take a specific one party or another to be in control of both chambers of Congress (speaking from a U.S. standpoint), but it will eventually happen.
It has in the past with network television. It's happened in the past with some aspects of cable television. It's currently in the early stages with social media investigations and potential regulations. And there have already been talks about lootboxes within the United States, never mind the countries overseas that have already gone after them.
If battlepasses are deemed to be predatory based on addiction triggers, then they'll eventually have their due as well. It doesn't matter how you feel about them, or how I feel about them, anymore than that's mattered in regards to the lootbox issue. It matters how the elected officials in Washington view them.
If you really think anyone in government gives two shits about battlepasses in video games I dont even know what to say to you bro lol.
-
Because the last game they got teabagged/flashlight clicked constantly by every idiot survivor they were facing, even after they killed 3 and the last survivor happened to find the hatch first, sat there, waited to see the killer, tea bagged, jumped in and sends the message gg ez. Next group must suffer for their transgressions.

What's to be scared of they can whip the killers ass and they know it

@Madjura Another thing those who claim that it isn't up to the developers to care about players' mental health seem to forget is the very cold reality that if the game developers continue to not care, various governments will.
Thus, what is happening with lootboxes. If battlepasses expand enough throughout the industry and raise the right flags concerning video game addiction and/or other mental health triggers, they'll one day be on the radar as well.
We live in a for profit world. If we didn't, you wouldn't have DBD, you'd be living in a mud hut at best, fishing by the river or foraging for berries every day. For profit companies cannot really worry about the 0.1% of people that can't control themselves. If it wasn't video games, theyd be buying crap on Amazon or God knows what. This is why we have alcoholics and drug addicts, but still make alcohol and pain meds, for the majority of people that can responsibly use them. It's not like bhvr is selling cigarettes to little kids lol.

No.

So you have base paid game, then you have a lot of DLC's that in total cost 3x times more than base game, then you have store that each very rare cosmetics cost 5€ and full one outfit cost more than one DLC and now on top of that all you want add Battle pass.
I mean... I am not suprised that some people are and will complain about that.
Pretty much all things in life that are ongoing cost money. Membership at a country club costs money, going to the movies cost money, going to a bar costs money. Living breathing video games with continuing content have gone to this model for a long time now. This isn't a one player stagnant game that you can play alone forever and that noone is spending money developing. Why is there some expectation that bhvr should work for free? They aren't even making you pay monthly for it like a subscription game. If you don't want any of the new ######### then don't buy any of it and freeload off the system, but don't come here and cry about it. Spend a couple hundred bucks on a game you've spent 3 years playing? Big deal. That's a meal at a nice restaurant spread over three years. If you can't afford it, don't come here and cry about it, the rest of us would like to support hard working folks and get more and more content.
-
@MiniPixels said:
Because imagine a world where you pay $5-$10 dollars for a cosmetic in a video game, and you only get access to it for 2-3 months.
So I believe timed cosmetics would be if you don't get them during that battle pass season they never become available again. Why in the hell would there ever be cosmetics that disappear eventually? That's ridiculous why would any company do that

@DonnieTheZombie said:
The grind for new players is disgusting. The update is only improving bloodwebs on level 40+ characters so it doesn't change the beginning grind at all which is silly because the new chapter is going to bring in tons of new players and theyre all going to have to go through the same crappy grind like you.
Also it's not the best strategy to level a bunch of different killers at once. Just unlock the two or so most importnant perks you want and powerlevel one character and play him so you max bloodpoint gain. If you have a ton a perks that means the chance of say bbq showing is lowered because another perk can take its place in the bloodweb. I have all perks, and I prestiged my Michael and i got him all the way to 50 again without bbq showing back up on the bloodweb.
Yeah I made this same mistake I can't get a damned thing I want most of the time lol
-
@MiniPixels said:
Honestly if it's timed cosmetics then everyone is going to throw a fit, not just the people that disagree with the battle pass itself.
Why's that all knowing seer?
-
@MiniPixels said:
The game won't be ruined but the community will be very cross with the decisions the devs are making. The battlepass system has always been frowned upon since it became a thing, and to have them add this to the game while knowing it is extremely unpopular does not look good on their part.
This is incorrect. Players have a problem with pay to win. What they want to do is pay for cosmetics, as is already in the game. Anyone crying about this is just ridiculous. If you're a cheapass, or not that into the game, or can't afford it, then don't pay for it. Really easy. Those of us that do pay for stuff will keep carrying those that don't.

The problem some people fail to see is that at some point once the hatch is closed IT IS impossible to open a gate.
Which to me is so weird considering a lot of you (Yes YOU) were so against hatch camping being a thing. We went from one extreme to another and it just became unfun again.
You expect to touch a gen and hide touch a gen and hide the entire time? Smdh
Also, stop saying “You’ve already had your chance...blah blah blah” When you virtually cannot open a gate to even consider it a “chance”.
This is not correct, I've had some very clever survivors snake me out of my win, and I've done it to killers as a survivor plenty of times. So it is quite possible, you've just gotta play sneaky and smart, and even then it usually won't work, which is good
-
I probably only find the hatch about 70% of the time before the survivor, I don't slug the second to last survivor to hunt for the last one because it's boring. Getting out 30% of the time when you've already lost is a gift take it

@Regionlock said:
yeah, while were at please make survivor grunts louder because nobody uses a decent headset in 2019. My movement as a killer is much slower and I have no gap closers, I need more help please dev. Ty
Yeah you're full of ######### survivor main and have no clue. Without a headset you can't hear jack, and with it all you hear is circus chase music. Its akin to if when you survivor turn around instead of seeing the killer and the red stain you see a wall of red light, completing negating one of your senses. This is worse because there's one killer, at least you'd have 3 survivors still doing gens etc.

If it's the first time THAT PERK is in the shrine, its 2700, not the first time YOU buy it.
Is what I was saying.
I've only ever gotten 2000 costs except for the few times a perk pops in.
If you have the perk unlocked, you can cash in 2000 shards for 150k BP's. If that same perk shows up again, it'll be 2700 shards for 250k BP's. After that I don't know hasn't happened to me yet.

Because of money, which is fine.

I dont camp, but sometimes survivors force my hand.

It's only 2700 the first time it's in there. Sorry.
So are You saying it it's 2000, 2700, and back to 2000? Your other post wasn't clear if that's what you meant. If that's how it goes I have no clue I've never got a third go round.

@Rydog The fact that anyone would have to come in and claim that it would cause players to run out of things to do just speaks volumes to a weak core game design, then.
I played Overwatch since Beta and never ran out of things to do. Why? Because I was constantly looking to improve on certain characters while learning others. I only left Overwatch recently because of RoleQ and the fact that I'm burned out and done with shooters.
I played Paladins for years. Why? Because I didn't have to grind to unlock the cards to do my Champion builds after the OB64 fiasco was reversed and fixed. I can experiment with any build on any character right out of the gate. What kept me engaged? Learning new Champions, getting better with my main Champions, and experimenting with builds, some serious and some meme builds. Again, I only left Paladins due to shooter genre burnout. Not because I ran out of things to do.
A grind to "keep people playing" is just a blatant Band-Aid for weak core design, especially in a PvP game.
What is the engagement factor in DbD for me? Learning killers, improving with killers, experimenting with Perk builds on Killer and Survivor. Or, at least I can maybe experiment one of these days once I sleep through the absolutely asinine grind and RNG.
What keeps driving me away from DbD, which is the reason why I've never played it consistently in the 16 months I've owned it? The asinine grind coupled with the bloodweb RNG. Hell, three family members are major Stranger Things fans. They saw the announcement for the DLC out in the wilds of the internet and were interested in buying DbD and the DLC. I explained the grind for new players to them and how the upcoming "changes" do nothing for new players.
They decided not to buy.
Peace out and good riddance
-
Unlocking all the unteachables actually makes the grind for what you really want unlocked way harder. I messed up and did this, got all killers to 50, now when I prestige one unusually don't even get BBQ level 1 by the time I get it back up to 50. There are ways to maximize how quicky bps are gained you just gotta be smart about it

Maybe for people who have time to game all day, but people with busy schedules are limited with their time and it DOES take a while and an investment to level up killers to a reasonable level of use.
Yeah I'm self employed and am the hardest working person I've ever met (probably) and my stress level is through the roof, what's that got to do with anything? Should every new account start with a level 50 killer and survivor and they've got all perks unlocked? If you're SOOOOOOO busy that you don't have time to play the game then go play fortnite. The grind to get a decent playable killer or survivor on this game is not bad at all.

Which, if you're doing what most new players do, collecting teachable perks before moving onto the next character, will not be affected by the bloodweb change at all, since they only need to level up to 40.
Getting to 40 doesn't take hardly any time, bunch of crybabies in this thread. Yeah the game takes a lot of time to get a lot of things unlocked and all p3, but it takes very little time to get a killer or survivor geared up to be in good shape for matches. Exceptionally little time.

This is crap advice for new players. "Spend money to get perk X" This game shouldn't be "Pay to Enjoy" but it seems to be now.
And don't say "But the shrine". Perks like BBQ show up once a year and it was just there so it it will be a while before we see it again,
It's $5 and a little time. Buying Leatherface is not play to win give me a break.

It's usually 2000 for 150k. It's only that high if it's the first time in the shrine.
I've "re bought" ruin like 3 times. Always 150k.
You are wrong, if you've already bought a perk in the shrine and it comes up again, it's 2700 and gives 250k bp. I've done it many times.
-
@anarchy753 said:
The grind for new players is 100% unchanged with the new patch. Trying to unlock teachables on 30+ characters isn't lessened at all by adding a handful of extra perks at high levels.
It ONLY affects people trying to collect perks on single characters, which is usually people at P3L50.
Not really true, unlock BBQ for killers and WGLF for survivors and it takes a huge bite out of the grind, being able to get these perks easier and more consistently reduces the grind.
