  • It certainly looks and feels a tad faster, but not sure if it's the new animation playing tricks on the eye.

Thank you I have no clue what this guy is on about me breaking the chain when I clearly didnt. For some odd reason he's trying to find a solution to something that was desync because the devs love to mess up their game every new patch.

    No I wasn't, just misremembered

  • Before this update on ps5 never dropped a frame. The fireworks on hooks and gens took care of that flawless playing though.

M1 is how you attack someone who you have chained.

Its how his power works and why his power counts as a M1 as you literally M1 to release the chain to try to hit the survivor once you pulled them close enough.

    Have you ever played Deathslinger?

Yeah its been awhile though I just went and tested it you're right

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951406#Comment_1951406

that's literally is what I said...

Also I am not trying to criticize you I am clearly not being very clear.

Ok to contextualize what the wiki says is that when you try to attack a survivor you're reeling in is when the chain is released.

However that's not what happened in the video as:

    1. He didn't attack. If he manually released the chain you'd see him swinging his gun's bayonet.
    2. He was animation locked into the shot. EI He COULDN'T have attacked to release the chain until the survivor the survivor was being pulled as that's when the shot attack cooldown would have ended.

Iirc hitting m1 just breaks the chain, it doesn't actually swing.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1951336#Comment_1951336

the "release chain button" is a basic attack aka an M1 which he clearly did not do.

Its also impossible to release the chain before the pull in begins as your animation locked into the shot animation until the pulling begins.

I'd have to go test it and I'm far too lazy, not saying you're wrong but I dunno, looks to me like he immediately broke the chain. The wiki says

Using a Basic Attack while a Survivor is speared will break the chain without applying either a stun penalty to The Deathslinger or the Deep Wound Status Effect to the Survivor.

I'm not defending bhvr btw. No bug at this point would surprise me

  • If you hit the wrong button it releases the chain. I haven't played slinger in awhile, but I don't think you get the stun if you do that. It looks like that's what happened to me

  • You sure you didnt accidentally break the chain?

  • This last update is the first one where I literally said to myself, wow, what a lazy bunch of people work at bhvr. There is no excuse. I cut them slack all the way until they did this mess. Pathetic.

  • I have every expectation that it's going to be terrible

lmao you didnt destroy anything get over yourself. Losing a hit can massively change the outcome of a trial especially if it happens multiple times.

Your post just proves my point lmfao "oh it affects killers? meh minor inconvenience". THATS LITERALLY MY POINT!

And no I played survivor and it was far from unplayable. Some funny looking hits for sure but not unplayable. What an exaggeration. You forget that on the killers side everything appears normal so no killers arent suddenly having the easiest games ever. If a survivor drops a pallet or vaults a window on the killers side they still cant be hit

Whiffing a hit as killer is a minor inconvenience. Maybe you're setting yourself up for some devastating whiffs or whiffing 3000x the amount of everyone else, but it's not that big of a deal, barely an inconvenience. So when you say you've played survivor in the current update and are comparing the two things as like, you're either a liar or you tried one match and didn't get chased. It's game breaking. Survivor queues are about 20% of what they were, and killer queues have skyrocketed. Whatdayathink that could possibly be caused by? My entire swf refuses to play the game until its fixed. I'm a bit heartier and stick it out on both sides, I'm telling you and the community agrees, the hits are ######### ridiculous and bhvr won't be getting any money from me (I promise you I'm a 1% contributor money wise to this game, because it's the only game I play and I love it and money's not a huge object on this scale) until they fix this bs.

And your whining proves you're a biased survivor main.

I never said the hits at the moment are good, clearly they are an issue and need to be addressed. My point is how when wonky hits hurt survivors its a priority that has to be addressed within weeks, whereas when wonky hits affect killers its put on the backburner for 2+ years. It's a joke.

I already completely destroyed your argument on this earlier and you ignored that. The difference is aim dressing is a minor inconvenience, the current state of hits for survivors is virtually unplayable. It would be like if you were completely unable to hit a survivor no matter what. You cant avoid hits

Nah, it will be soon. It will distract people from the bugs for awhile.

look over here at the shiny thing, No no don’t look at the issues

Normally id agree with you, but I think maybe not this time. They took an extra week after the ptb, god knows why because this is the worst update yet. But then again maybe not, they decided something other than hits was more deserving of their immediate time. Either way its a joke at this point. I'm starting to give up on dbd and it pisses me off.

  • No. Please nerf spirit.

  • What you're noticing is the current broken hit bs. For some reason certain killers, like wraith, clown, Bubba, etc. Benefit from the broken hits more right now.

  • You are completely and totally wrong. That is all

  • @GravyRobbers85 said:

Not only this, licensing issues have also kept him out of the Nintendo switch port.

I thought they added him to switch back when the ps5 came out?

  • I actually think they added enough breakable walls that's it become even more killer sided than it was before. Very easy to get trapped

survivors getting hit when they think they shouldnt.....vs killers not getting hits when they think they should because the game either takes it from them or swings them into the wall

You stink of survivor entitlement. It's the same damn thing

Listen genius the game is literally unplayable on survivor side. Go try it instead of maintaining your ignorance.

This isn't a productivity issue. BHVR pushes out hotfixes for all platforms at once and each console has different review processes in order to get the hotfix accepted. Meaning if they want to get a hotfix out tomorrow they likely already had to submit the hotfix patch sometime last week.

It is a productivity issue 100%, they have a super laid back work when you want to corporate atmosphere. Leads to some ######### product.

firstly I have played survivor. The hits are the least of the problems, check my post the other day raging about the matchamking. rank 1 meta tryhardss and the game gives me rank 18 survivors to work with. Fun.

secondly you obviously havent played killer. If only it was a whiff and a few seconds lost. Those whiffs allow survivors to make pallets/vaults and that can really drag out the chase

I don't believe you, because hits are the foremost issue easily.

Also not sure how you're whiffing that bad, I'm a 50 50 player yer with like 5000 hours , 9 out of 10 times you dont whiff within a vault range of anything, usually the survivors just keep trying to get 360s because they have no other option and get hit.

I'm not white knighting the 4.5.0 release.

I'm white knighting uncertainty regarding release schedules, and that, yes, UI and networking teams are different.

Though in terms of hit issues I've only really seen problems when Vaulting pallets/Windows as Survivor, and the occasional "that hit?" when playing Killer.

It's so much worse than vaults, you.dont have time to react to the killers action anymore, no matter what you do, 4 out of 5 times youre gonna get hit. Example, on Ormond last night against a wraith with a silent bell, at the snow cat tractor looking thing, I was being chased, i was at that pallet on the end of it, and he went way over to the other side of the snow car where the chest can spawn, I knew what he was doing, he was going to uncloak and come at me one way or the other. No red stain to help me but in normal times there is 0% chance he would have hit me. Not only did I get downed when he made his move, the hit was such bs I didn't even have time to drop the pallet. Thats a huge distance. Ridiculous

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Its funny how bad hits for survivor gets this level of rage and priority. Killers have had auto-aim yanking them into walls and objects for how long now? not to mention gen and hook grabs literally don't work. Somehow that's all seen as a minor issue though and we're waiting on a fix 2 years later.

If you're a killer player you might as well not exist to this company

You obviously haven't played survivor since this update. I play both. Yeah auto aim is annoying, I was on ps4 and it was terrible the whiffs you'd get. But there is a big difference, a survivor gets bs hit every time and it's game over. As killer you whiff once or twice then get your hit, you lost a couple seconds. As a survivor you're on a hook. The equivalent would be you get auto aim dressed, and boom a gen gets done.

Different teams. Also, part of the new UI system they implemented probably means UI changes like this are much easier to do now.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1947311#Comment_1947311

It may simply be increased transparency, but given that they have two hotfixes already planned out and announced, it's likely they're addressing quick fixes in 4.5.1 (note the verbiage for all 4.5.1 mentions is Fixed) with a much shorter turnaround, and addressing things that might take longer (or more testing) in 4.5.2

Don't Defend them please, they white knight for themselves just fine. Have you played survivor? It's literally unplayable.

@jester20k The point of all the things i wrote is that you people are taking this way more seriously than it is necessary. So you got t-bagged? A killer tunneled you and killed you? Oh poor, poor you, your day must be ruined. How dare those people trolled you like that? They have no right man absolutely no ######### right to do that. They must be ######### hanged for their offenses. You people amaze me really. If some action taken by a complete stranger in a video game makes you rage and "ruins your experience" you got some deeper problems you gotta take care of. Laugh it off and go to the next game. Or if you just can't stand anyone "tunneling" you don't play the game. Simple as that. Stop being so ######### thin-skinned. Stop giving people reactions because that is why they are trolling you. Because it is fun to watch people like you crying so hard over a ######### video game.

I don't cry I don't give a ######### but I'm a 41 year old dude, there are a lot of younger people or emotionally unstable people that other players interact with that won't be able to handle it. You frankly sound like a jerk and a bully who cares more about your own ego than other people being able to chill out and have a good time. There are people on the other side of that character, not like you care obviously.

I feel like any sane company when met with a nearly gamebreaking bug (plus many other major ones) would have just rolled back the patch, figured out and fixed the issue as a n1 priority, and then re-updated.

To be fair those are not mid chapter patches but hotfix patches, but yeah sounds like.

  • @Crunc2h said:

I know this was discussed 100 times before and it really won't make any difference, i am sick of this crap in this community so i am going to write this anyway. I will try to make my point AS SIMPLE AS i can so our lovely entitled friends would get it.

I mainly play killer but i am also a rank 1 survivor. And toxicty levels are MUCH higher on the survivor side so i will make my point from a killers perspective.

    1. DON'T CAMP
    2. DON'T TUNNEL

Now i will define these rules, talk about general survivor arguments and debunk them.

    1. CAMPING

    2 different categories.

    • Face Camping - You hook a survivor and stare at him from a 1m distance.
    • Proxy Camping - You hook a survivor and patrol around the area.

    Now let's talk about the situations in which a killer face camps;

    1. All 5 Gens are done and you only have one hooked survivor, you want to hook trade and secure at least one kill.
    2. A survivor somehow tilted you quite hard so you want them dead.
    3. You know survivors are overly alturistic so its a strat.
    4. You just want to taste some salt in the endgame chat.
    • In situation 1 you have absolutely nothing else to do in the map and you go for the only way for a potential victory or at least a draw. You CANNOT be blamed for being a toxic killer. (Always happens that way though.)
    • In situation 2 and 4 you left the default gameplay route of a killer and just want to satisfy your own emotional needs. Which is how you should play any video game because an arbitrary ranking system isn't what is affecting your real life. You WILL be blamed for being toxic -and most likely learn some new [BAD WORDS]-.In the DBD community, reasons for why said actions are toxic are the below;
    1. You effectively ruin a survivors game experience thus you are being toxic : As a player you can't be held responsible for that. This is a game, someone will win and someone will lose. DEVS are responsible for all players game experience and they REPEATEDLY said that face camping is VALID. They said its valid but that doesn't mean that you aren't going to be penalized. You WILL lose the game if survivors are not morons and change their gameplay according to yours. But if they don't do that and situation 3 comes in to play, then its survivors fault that they didn't adapt, you CANNOT be held responsible for their actions. Every player gets to play however they want as long as it is allowed in the game. (quick note: As survivors you are NOT entitled to get unhooks since its a high-risk high-reward action. Killers ARE NOT supposed to go pressure elsewhere at your convenience.)

Let's get to the Proxy Camping, this post will be long but i don't really care anymore.

    1. You know someone is in the area coming for rescue so you look around in order to find them but be close enough to get a hit if they actually come in for a rescue.
    2. Or it is just an extended version of face camping. (Reasons for why it is valid and not toxic are the same with face camping.)
    • In situation 1 since you don't have wallhack you naturally don't want to go patrol gens across the map which may or may not have survivors nearby. But you definetly know that someone is going to come for a rescue so you can maybe get a down or two and snowball the game from there. This is a strat and you ARE NOT being toxic. This doesn't apply when its just the start of the game but if that is the case you CANNOT be held responsible from any BM for the same reasons i gave regarding face camping.

Strat or not survivor mains don't really care so your entire family line will be slaughtered in the endgame chat by very, VERY creative means.

    1. TUNNELING
    • A situation in which killer doesn't give a damn about anything in the game except eliminating one survivor from the game at their own loss. ( Players are free in any action they take as long as the game allows it. Same with the reasons why face camping is valid, and is not toxic.)
    • A situation in which killer successfully determines weak and strong survivors and focuses on the weak ones in order to cripple the survivors and win the game. (This is a sound strategy which i myself often use to destroy rank 1 while playing wraith. There is no difference between this and looping. You waste killers time with looping and killer wastes your time by repeatedly forcing you to go for rescues and he takes 1 player out of the game in the process and takes usually 1 or 2 survivors away from objectives. You don't get to play if you can't give chase to a killer longer than 30 seconds. Imagine this like repeatedly dying in League of Legends, making enemy team stronger, and then your team cusses at the enemy player for getting the kills instead of your teammate feeding the enemy team. Sounds stupid huh?

And again regardless of which option above you go for you WILL get your future children and grandchildren [BAD WORD] in a myriad of ways that you can't even begin to imagine. I don't know who actually brought up this stupid set of rules but what is more shocking is that %95 percent of the community abides to it like some holy commandment. It is an actual social phenomenon that makes DBD the game that has the most toxic community from the other multiplayer games i played BY FAR. Conclusion: DON'T LET ANYONE change the way you want to play the game because all these unwritten rules are nothing but BS.

PS : As i said at the start of this text, what i said here applies for both killers and the survivors. I wrote this from a killers perspective because survivors (at least in my experience playing the game for 2 years, watching videos, being part of the community) are way WAY more toxic in the endgame chat comapred to the killers. EVERYONE playing the game are free to choose any perk, addon, strategy they want to use if it is in the game. OP or not.

The major fallacy of your argument is that you claim you aren't responsible for ruining someone else's game, the devs are. What a cop out that is. There are plenty of unfair and scummy things you can do in the real world that aren't technically illegal too, like if you go around with road rage making everyone else in the road miserable. Unless you cross a line it isn't illegal, so by your argument it's okay. It's not okay. Playing like a douche as a killer is also not okay. Killer only players love to act like anything they do is okay. It's not, just like anything survivors do isn't necessarily okay. If everyone played both sides and knew how ######### the other side can make you feel, maybe all this toxic crap would stop.

I love when 3 or more content creators put out a video with same topic. Every killer has to copy the build.

95% of games now use Devour Hope. It is like all these killers didn't know what to do after losing Ruin/Undying and Youtube was like "what about Undying/Devour hope". haha. hilarious/predictable/pathetic

I ran that build a few times, but came up with the idea on my own, because it was obviously a good combo. In practice I get a whopping one mori out of it before both totems are cleansed.

No, I'm just not one of those who uses the same losing strategy as you have stated, then runs to the forums when that losing strategy loses. Remember, this whole conversation started with you complaining that your "brave, high level" tactics kept getting you rehooked. Don't worry though, I'm sure the hook is very impressed with your courage when you are put right back on it.

So if you get unhooked next to a 90% complete gen that's regressing and don't hear a terror radius you're going to flee from that gen? When you and the unhooker could finish it in a few seconds? And then you're going to come here and call me a noob for banging it out? Sound stupid?

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1942987#Comment_1942987

So now the gen is 90% done, making it even more of a priority for the killer to return to?

    Maybe pvp isn't your thing.

Oh you're one of those guys that goes and heals in the corner and everyone hates to play with I guess? Or more likely just a strictly killer player that wants any advantage they can get? I'm not afraid of killers, so i will always jump on that gen, you go hide in the corner and lose the gen lol. Gg.

  • @Nameless said:

There is literally no reason to jump on the gen next to you... If you do that, then I don't see why DS should remain active. You had the chance to go to safety or get healed, but instead you chose to progress the game. Now it's a choice survivors will have to make, whereas before you were just safe while progressing the game. As for the madness concern, the new perk description doesn't say that getting out of madness deactivates DS, so not sure what you're on about.

Succeeding or failing a skill check deactivates the perk, go read

I’ve never seen a successful flashlight save and even when I play killer is so easy to avoid it.

I average a flashlight save every other match these days but its not uncommon to get more than one in a match, and I probably average 3-5 killer blinds a match, they aren't useless but they do keep you from doing more productive things. On YouTube google spooky loopz flashlight 2021. He has the best method of teaching the current way to get the saves. I probably burned through about 20 flashlights trying it the way other streamers were explaing it and didn't get a save. On my third attempt armed with spooky loopz knowledge I was able to get it and just keeps getting better from there. It's easy to get antsy when you have a Clean shot and do it early, that messes it up, and it's important to learn when you don't have a shot at it, trying at a bad angle just gives your position away and wastes the flashlight. Also iron will is a must.

So you know it's likely they'll come back to the hook, and still don't leave the area after being unhooked? I don't think you are helping your case as much as you think you are.

Yup if I got a gen right next to me 90% done I'm jumping on it, maybe it's you that needs a lesson in high tier play?

  • @ZaKzan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1942896#Comment_1942896

Why would you ever jump on a gen right next to the hook that you were just unhooked from?

Doctor spending all that time tunneling you means your team mates have had 180 seconds total to do gens, if the doctor waits out the 60 second DS timer. This is a losing play. Maybe you should actually try playing the game so you can get to a rank where killers are actually trying to win the game, that's probably your best option if this scenario is something you run into a lot.

Oh you mean like rank 1? Because I get to rank 1 every reset. Give me a break. The sweaty killers I face daily, on the west coast which is way sweatier than east coast, almost always return to the hook. They don't always tunnel but a lot of them do.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 16
