While I like her current version more than the second version, I wish we would have gotten her first version back. I miss that TVs were not always turned off, no TV auras and her good old addons. Her addons feel so outdated now and like they are only good when having passive condemned, which we do not have anymore. Also ring drawing and old iri tape should return. I really dislike that they straight up removed those two.

I wouldn't disapprove about her first alteration to return from her kit with the quality of life she's received, as for iri tape return as it once was I don't entirely agree on in my opinion

  • Sadako in my eye from her 3rd version is a huge success to me as she's somewhat back to her first gameplay design

What I'd argue that she never needed to be reworked in the first place when sadako 2.0 existed

Sure to go against but she's going to be absolutely awful to play. That's not ok

I get that, and she really needs a few buffs to compensate those adjustments

  • I really don't think she needs another rework, I like her power concept currently, the only issue I felt like she had was the haste and hindered aspect, which has been adjusted

Haste and the hindered is what I despise about going against skull merchant, with that being gone, she's gonna actually felt pretty ok to go against

Hello, can you please provide game logs and a short video? Thank you!

Here's the of someone by the name of jcglitchmaster that shows sadako's invisibility that last about 0.7 seconds

I hope this video helps cause it's been 4 months since it's been going and would hope to be fix as soon as possible

Still happening as of September 2024.

About 4 months it's been, really baffled about it

  • Currently Dracula, his power is so fun to use

But what keeps me from wanting to continue playing more is mostly from his bat form as it's one of my favorite form to use, but it is very limiting to use, low range teleport, can't see survivors, quite long cool down to get out of bat form during chase

  • Haven't tried them out, I mostly tried using friends till the end with wretched fate, if you happen to find and hook the obsession, another one is now affected by wretched fate, decent combo in my opinion

Sadako 2.0 was almost perfect, if they would just nerf the condement spam a bit... But no put her back to 1.0 version with few changes.

What's wrong with sadako returning to her original power design

Sadako 2.0 while yes strong, she just became in my opinion a boring uninteractive killer to play and made me and other sadako mains lost our enjoyment playing her

This year has been a productive year in many ways with all the variety of updates but specifically our beloved killers.

As we continue to grow our killer roster it’s important to upkeep and maintain our killers since each and every one of them is unique.

    Well done 🙌🏼🔥🎉

A list of all the killers BHVR has reworked or tweaked this year.

    Billy
    Onyro
    Pig
    Doctor
    Clown
    Bubba
    Huntress
    Blight
    Hag
    Plague (upcoming)
    Pinhead (upcoming)
    Doctor again
    Singularity
    Twins
    Skull Merchant (upcoming)
    The Knight

I was very happy seeing sadako was getting reverted back to her first iteration while giving her quality of life changes

Though that can't be said when they tried to nerf after all the positive feedback was received

  • I love 2v8 as much as the next guy, but killer queue times and not being able to pick certain killers as of now is a pain as it's basically not worth the time

But the new mode has great potential and would hope it would be polished by feedback along with bringing all the killers instead of the original 5

I figured it out, the problem is that it didn't change anything. There are still no pain sounds

Must be bugged then, cause it worked fine last weeks update

  • @Blueberry said:

Still bugged. Months and months later. Lasting roughly .7 sec on the invisibility rather than the intended 1.2 from her last rework.

Slice & Dice, Hidey-Ho Mode & Scamper during both Hidey-Ho mode and Slice & Dice are all the main core parts of what makes Chucky truly feel like the character himself and without all of those elements of his power together, he doesn't fully feel like that and adjusting his Scamper during Slice & Dice won't change that.

In fact, i'd say adjusting Scamper during Slice & Dice will only make it worse as that to me just feels like doubling down on removing part of Chucky's core identity just so he can be turned into yet another hyper-mobility killer, something we already have more than enough of already with other killers and don't need anymore of.

While yes, chucky manually scampering was absolutely his identity, but an identity that was not enjoyable as he just gives free hits without making any cool play,

It's why I want Chucky's slice n dice scamper to be buffed and while yes there's killers like blight and wesker that do those types of mobility, but this is gameplay that Chucky can maneuver by dashing through pallets by not kicking them but use them to their advantage

That's an identity I want to see in him going forward in my honest opinion

  • @Smoe said:

Agree, being able to vault windows and pallets while in Hidey-Ho mode was a core part of his character's identity and the removal of it makes him feel incomplete.

Hopefully they'll change their minds and revert the change to scamper, even if it's release Scamper speed, the ability should be available during Hidey-Ho mode no matter what.

I feel like Chucky can still have an identity by adjusting his scamper during slice n dice

Right now you rarely scamper pallets during slice n dice since it's very limiting to move around while survivors can go behind pallets thus avoiding being hit

  • Surely they would, if not then definitely needs to be told by the devs that it should do the same effect as stridor

  • He's still plays the same if you didn't spend time just scampering pallets

As for window vaults yes this is a bad change

All together this changes did not kill Chucky, coming as a p50 Chucky enjoyer

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    1) Huntress still being 4.4 feels bad, considering that the new map reworks have added a lot of clutter to the maps, that completely block hatchets, that force Huntress to loop around at her slow speed. The buffs Huntress got, doesn’t help the fact that she will still be stuck looping certain high-wall loops over and over, for more loops than a 4.6 killer would need to do.

It would have been better if her movement speed could be updated to 4.6, then some nerf adjustments could be made as compensation.

    2) Clown feels like an overall nerf. Losing the heavy intoxication filter is a big nerf (even though the nerf itself was necessary). And Clown’s best addon is now completely useless. And the minor buffs Clown got aren’t proper compensation.

Yellow bottles need to activate 0.5 seconds faster. The current yellow bottle activation time is still awful on cramped indoor maps….. and it’s still awful if we’re chasing a survivor that’s far away, and the survivor changes directions after the bottle is thrown.

    3) Pig is now so boring that she’s not worth playing. Now she has traps that are “press a button and that’s it”, and she has an ambush M2 that still takes almost zero skill to use. That’s zero room for skill expression that’s unique to this killer. It’s boring.

In what way is pig boring, she still has skill expression to her ambush in this update

  • pigs crouch movements speed should be increased to 110 or 115 movements speed since almost all the stealth killers moves at regular speed except for her which doesn’t make sense especially when time is at hand, most pig players will rarely use stealth for the majority of her games

other then that her ambush feels so much better, good changes overall

  • all the building has way to many windows which can be very annoying to catch survivors apart,

there are a few cars that feel way too big especially next to a pallet making it impossible to catch survivors

the main building is impossible to catch survivors since there’s no way to make interesting place except the one broken wall from the top, that’s honestly what this map needs, more broken walls and add some ramps to compensate for how many windows there are

another issue is the road side of the map, this section can either spawn a pallet tile or absolutely nothing making it real annoying for survivors

that’s all the feedback I have for this boring uninteresting map

  • Everything about this map is awful,

the map is way to big, and just like groaning storehouse it has that weird L shape layout making it annoying to roam around as killer

the main building is god awful especially from that one window section that has the metal pipe which makes it impossible to chase survivors since you have to go around thus losing distance, I hope this gets removed cause having little details just like killer shack from knights map can be the most obnoxious thing do deal with

there are 3 safe pallets that are guaranteed to spawn in the map making it so easy to loop the killer around for so long

thats all my feedback and I hope this map gets changed soon

  • I don’t like this map as survivor, make one wrong move and you get 3 gen, I get it’s the survivors fault, but on this map the killer can just immediately defend the gens in one section of the map

  • I didn’t think family residents is that balanced since that map has a big layout, other then that, the map has some good decent loop for both sides

  • The only problem with this map is that the layout is too big, hence it favors survivors more then killer

I was trying to privately write you, but it won’t let me. What’s your prestige on sadako?

If you’re referring to me then my prestige number on sadako is p100

  • I also pray that won’t be the case, but my god I’m seeing so many survivors complaining about her

Behavior is only going to see the part where you said “She’s in a great spot.” Then proceed to move forward without ironing out the last few issues 😅😭😭

Wouldn’t doubt it, they’d probably nerf her too which I hope that’s not the case

  • I got to try out this version of sadako from yesterday and would like my feedback about it, so far she’s great

im so glad she’s back to the way she was before as along with other onryo mains too

there are a few changes she needs to make her better

her TVs placement and the time to turn them off

her tv placement especially indoor maps like RPD can make it very difficult to turn off TVs since TVs can spawn downstairs and have no way of turning them off, TVs placement needs adjustment

as for survivors turning off TVs is way to quick, survivors turning off TVs by 1 second is way to quick which makes it easier to remove condemn in front of sadako which should not be the case, it should honestly be reverted back to the way it was

one final things are her addons

there are few addons that are pretty bad that need changes especially her purple addons like giving survivors hindered when demanifested, iri tape since it no longer gives you condemn she’s just an m1 killer with no slowdown, that addon could use a nice affect like have her teleport faster or even faster movement speed when existing out of a tv

these are my feedback on her and while she’s in a great spot, she’s still gots some roughs around the edges that could use some changes

  • @Peanits said:

I can confirm that these are real!

Thank god, thank you for listening

  • @glitchboi said:

Keep the condemn cooldown (reduce it to 6-8 seconds preferably), remove the condemn stack lock limit the way it was in the PTB. Last two changes are excellent that will help her in chase. It's an improvement I guess but I still don't understand why the condemn limit needs to be locked.

I'd like to hear what a Sadako main thinks though, as they might have a better take on this.

God no, she does not need a cooldown at all, not from her previous rework nor the one from last week, I’m perfectly ok what she got for the coming hotfix

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3642276#Comment_3642276

The reason for reworking and adding CD after PTB is that dev don't want Onryo teleport frequently for condemned and chase survivor normally.

The PTB version allows Onryo to teleport into "wrong" TV frequently to have condemned stack, so the rework is meaningless if they maintain original PTB version.

However, Onryo would still teleport frequently as long as she need to gain condemned via teleporting.

So it is not a good game design actually.

If the devs really want to give her a cooldown every teleport then she should at least allow her to condemn to the tv she teleported at the very least, that’s just hoping though

  • @HeavyPress said:

Revert to PTB state, at absolute minimum. That's all I can really say here.

absolutely should be reverted back from the ptb

  • @Nyog said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3638201#Comment_3638201

You're right I forgot about this

Should also make bleedout takes 30 minutes so killers don't focus on those with low timers.

Horrible idea for survivors, being slugged for 30 minutes does not sound fun, just give sadako to hook survivors on the amount of locked condemn she gets

  • @Nyog said:

I agree with the reasoning that hooking shouldn't lock in any more than 2 condemned since that obviously encourages focusing on the survivor that didn't play around Sadako's power. The problem is that this change means you can hook someone three times and they still won't have full condemned lock. I have a solution that can kill 2 birds with one stone.

From what I gather from the Sadako dev notes, focusing on a survivor with condemned is bad gameplay, but focusing on a survivor with hook states is unpunished. To fix this make hooks only count for half a state, then we can then kill with condem their fourth hook (3.5/6 state) and it will discourage focusing on one person for hook states AND condemned. Win-Win.

Either that or just remove condemed lock cap. We need some consistency here.

I don’t agree with the hook being locked at two condemn, people are just gonna slug as sadako again

  • Will those changes be reverted or you can’t say until next week, I am really anxious if this version of sadako will stay cause she was perfect from the ptb

I might as well continue with the feedback, the changes you made to sadako are horrible, bringing back her cooldown is what people hated about sadako from yesterday, allowing players to condemn freely gives survivors to keep in mind of the tapes to avoid getting killed faster, locking condemn after hooking by 4 is another terrible change, it’s basically pointless to hook again and forced sadako to tunnel and slug survivors off the ground again, the Sadako from the ptb was so much better and much healthier for the game, she didn’t require to tunnel and slug and was enjoyed by a majority of players from the ptb, that’s all my feedback and I do hope these nerfs get reverted

  • @TheArbiter said:

Im getting more and more concerned that they aren't just going to keep the PTB form and instead add even more unnecessary changes

I really hope that isn’t the case, especially how everyone hated that she got nerfed

  • @KazRen said:

No. I kinda expected them to nerf something for sadako before she came to live. Tbh I also expected billy to be nerfed to but miraculously he didn't.

Im gonna probably find a way to make her work, although BHVR is making it really hard.

I'm just disappointed. I get sad when thinking about the patch.

Same here, just thinking about it makes me even sadder.

for the time being I'll just wait for the Alan wake stream tomorrow to see if they mention sadako getting reverted

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

I was looking forward to the update but after they announced the Sadako nerfs, I'm not particularly interested anymore. I might check out the new gamemode. I don't know.

The new game mode might be fun for sadako with iri tape with stealth perks, that’s the only good thing she has

  • @[Deleted User] said:

She was literally fine on the PTB. You could counter her power very easily and she was rather concise and clear (at least with how the mechanics worked). I'm dreading having to explain her new power in-game to my girlfriend (she's new).

Getting hooked locks in condemned was made convoluted and messy; it still locks in but only 2 stacks at once???

She can teleport whenever she wants... BUT she has a cool-down on condemned??? When does a Survivor know to run from the TV? When does the Survivor know when its best to just shut it off and take the tape?

They took a rather clever and simple update and made it as cluttered as possible.

No clue why they thought it was a good idea, I hope they revert the nerf entirely and not adjust it

  • @GeneralV said:

To be honest, I don't think there was anything over-dramatic about the response.

People were respectful, they didn't insult the developers or did anything unreasonable, they were just caught off-guard by a sudden change that no one asked for. These things hurt particularly deep when they happen to your favorite killer, I'd know.

Thankfully the feedback was heard, acknowledged and there will be changes happening to her.

Thankfully, still pretty bummed that we have to wait a couple of weeks though especially console players who mained her (including me) that couldn’t play the ptb

  • @MikhailVictor said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634903#Comment_3634903

tl;dr - post-ptb changes make no sense especially given the reasonings behind them

    stated by the developers:

One of the awkward playstyles we wanted to address with this update was the dominant strategy of teleporting as much as possible to quickly spread Condemned. We had hoped that limiting the range of Condemned to powered TVs would address this and allow us to remove the projection cooldown. However, some crafty Onryō players discovered that they could intentionally teleport to the wrong TVs first in order to spread more than one stack of Condemned to Survivors near/heading towards a powered one. Clever!

yeah this makes no sense at all, sadako players cleverly condemning survivors so they decide to nerf it

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634936#Comment_3634936

I didn’t understand at all why that revert took so long. Why does it take almost a month to revert a perk to a version that is already coded and functional (as we saw on the PTB)?

Same with Onryō. Surely if they’ve heard our feedback, they can just launch PTB version instead. It’s 5 days until launch. That feels like enough time to sort it out to me 🤷‍♂️

Who knows, all I know is that I lost my excitement for this update, especially since I’m a console player who didn’t get a chance to try this version of sadako and have to wait another 2 weeks for her nerfs to be changed

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634902#Comment_3634902

I don’t get why we’re going to have to wait for a follow up update. Surely they can just push the PTB version to live instead?

They did this with batteries included, it took 3 weeks to reverted the nerf, which will happen to sadako which will upset me and other sadako mains that it even happened in the first place

  • @Peanits said:

Hey folks. It’s clear that the changes we’re making to The Onryo didn’t live up to expectations, so we’re preparing a series of follow-up adjustments to address the feedback we’ve received. These adjustments are planned to release as part of the minor updates in the weeks following the Mid-Chapter. We’ll share more details once we've got a plan locked in.

This better be good, she was fine on ptb

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634506#Comment_3634506

No cooldown teleportation promoted spamming teleport mindlessly with no decision making or thought process. The lock condemn stack promoted tunneling survivor off-hook and slugging people next to TV's to finish the 7 stacks of condemn on the "Locked Condemn" survivor.

These were grossly problematic designs in PTB Sadako. All the change are justified.

Turn off tvs, it is so simple as that, just turn off tvs so you don’t get condemned

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Why is Onryō once again receiving drastic changes that noone asked for? Her PTB rendition was a fantastic middleground of her original and buffed power, and most Onryō players were overwhelmingly happy with the PTB.

I'm so annoyed I wasted 100 Prestiges worth of Bloodpoints on this character just for them to throw her kit on the chopping block every few months and do something random. Can we just get her PTB version back and leave her alone.

However, some crafty Onryō players discovered that they could intentionally teleport to the wrong TVs first in order to spread more than one stack of Condemned to Survivors near/heading towards a powered one.

Like how is this even a problem? The survivor can just turn off the TV in the first place. Why is the killer being punished for a survivor not engaging with the counterplay?

Start your chainsaws! We were pleased to see such a positive response to The Hillbilly on the PTB.

And I guess the positive response to the Onryō changes doesn't matter...

Couldn’t agree more, wasted my time p100 her
