You implied it as I stated multiple times regarding better players rhat rhey shoudl ovvioualy do better than those they verse aremt as good which you never responded too. You always went by the statement that the killer should always have the upper hand and ignored what I said.
I also stated on an equal footing twice now the game should end up 2 die 2 escape as per the devs own words.
That still doesnt truley simply balance either...but that's a different matter

What you suggest is not so easily accomplished though. I believe they are working in that direction. At least that's how I read the moves BHVR has made. But they still have to proceed carefully. If they don't God knows what they might come up with. I'd also like to see various QoL buffs to the weaker end of the roster. One of the easiest ones in my opinion is Trapper. They need to let him start with more then one trap. I'd argue he start with all his traps. But that's just me.
I'd settle for a locker reload and 1 more base trap..let traps reset on the ground instead of needing go be picked up first and to make it work..stop traps from moving when the killer picks them up..do those and trapper will be a good killer at last

Thinking objectively is not about being able to 1v1 but it does mean realising that a far better and more skilful player should be able to outplay someone regardless of the role they choose.
To think otherwise is wanting the game to grant something not deserved and not being objective yourself.
It really shows ones mindset when they believe anyone picking a role should instantly be able to best another from the outset regardless of the others skill or knowledge of the game.
You assume too much..I am speaking on equal terms..I never once said weaker players should just win based on role but a killer should always hold advantage over a single survivor based on skill..its a simple math problem

This game is not last year or f13th people need to stop comparing them. If you prefer those games why play DBD?
This game is DBD is not team orientated like last year its help others or don't.
The issue seems to be what some think the game should be and not what the vision the devs have is.
What ones deems is viable is a killer who they can win with. For those is is who can win with a variety we can see them all as viable.
The reason certain killers are used more is due to higher mobility and the ability to do better with them over others. This is why those who cant do generally as well with all gravitate to those who are considered strongest as they are infact easier to win with.
This says more about each players skill when some feel a killer is not viable yet some do extremely well with them even better than some whonuse the stronger ones.
Theres too many variables in that example..but the fact you think killers should be 1v1able says enough to disinterest me from this convorsation tbh..once your on that pedastle you cant think objectively

Yes, and no. If the survivors and killer are fairly evenly matched it'll come down to who makes more mistakes. Unfortunately the killers mistakes can be more costly. Even more unfortunately it's hard if not nearly impossible to find the balance that won't push it too far one way or another.
I dont think so...honestly..balance maps and give killers a decent tool kit like killers like freddy or spirit have..and your onto something..plus the they possibly need to change the objective of the game for survivors

Why is it proof?
Why can't a better player simply do better versus someone not as good no matter what role they play?
Why do you think a less skilled killer should always be able to best someone just for playing killer?
If a 6k hour player meets someone with 50h should the 50h player have the upper hand? That's the essense of what you are saying.
This removes any factor of skill a game should have. It then grants wins purely for loading into a role. In this game a 4v1 match with equal skill should end 2 die and 2 escape.
What happens in those which aren't of equal skill will and should always come down to the better players ability.
Yet that's not where we are..a team that cant chase can still win just because they are coordinated on gens..it happens all the time..what happens if you 1v1 a killer in last year or friday the 13..? Your dead meat..hence why its 1 vs x..each person should need to have a bit of skill and coordination to win..not just pallet spawn knowledge or a perk as dbd often boils down to..nurse was the exception..it was your skill and prediction vs mine..better read wins..her addons were unchecked but outside that she was nearly perfect...spirit has been the only other killer to fulfill that and thsts why her chapter has been considered widely the best ever released

Didn't noob3 have a friend with him who was there to make sure he escaped?
Not the whole time and while he did save him on ocassion.
More often than not he only saved him by body blocking or just telling him to leave him behind

What this shows is it can be done on both sides and its then down to the individual.
With over powered things such as the survivor perks such as DS and BT along with toolboxes and keys now how could any killer ever get those results with the lower tiered killers?
If one survivor can carry that much then it's still proof survivors are too strong..its 1v4..therefore..each survivor should have no chance vs the killer alone at least not for long..the fact noob carried so hard shows survivors hold too much power as individuals by your very logic

When you see someone win 49/50 games with Wraith and another win 50/50 games with Trapper then that sort of goes against what you say.
It always comes down to the person playings skill and who they verse and not a person who cant do well that complains about it.
Yet noob 3 escaped 50 times in a row vs the best killers in the game, overpowered moris , dcing team mates, etc etc..the skill of most survivors in dbd is very low because it's been too easy for too long..they havent needed to grow..anybody can 4 man a group of scrubs/rage quitters..but surfing that much vs everything killers have to throw at you..that says a lot more than someone demolishing scrubs

They should be is made up by the players not the devs. An assymetrical game doesn't mean one side is so much more powerful and should always have the upper hand in reality it simply means 1 v many.
The devs believe it should be about the players skill and not the game that grants them a win just for loading in as a role which seems to be inline with what some players want.
The Nurse in the right hands actually was much stronger compared to others than the devs wanted. This shows that the devs don't want a killer to be all powerful as some think they should be. There should always be a chance for those of equal skill to kill ornescape but it should then come down to mistakes on both sides and not just who you pick.
When you have great killer players who can kill 3 or 4 in the majority of their matches with a wide varuety of killers it shows a good player will do extremely well and those who aren't will of course struggle more.
It's not that simple..you have to crunch the numbers too..and most killers dont make the grade because the nurse had outplay tools..and the devs put too much faith in their own minimal knowledge of nurse..as the results have proven...and a lot of killers still lack the kit to do well

Hmm....

Thanks for the feedback!
Exhaustion is dangerous to have recover mid-chase, which is why I made the number so low. It would take 3 minutes to recover from exhaustion if you're running, so I don't think that would be too broken. A different buff that would be good is having exhaustion recover at 100% speed while running, but only outside of a chase.
Monstrous Shrine is a poorly designed perk that is practically useless. It needs something added to it that actually impacts the survivor, and giving them broken and exhaustion definitely makes it rewarding to hook people in the basement. If you're worried about it promoting tunneling, a different proposal would be giving the survivor Broken and decreasing their gen repair speed by 20% for 40 seconds, but that doesn't seem like a perk worth running.
Wake Up is trash right now, but the speed increase and aura blocking would make it safer to open the exit gates. Although, the only aura reading you'll be blocking would be BBQ's, so it wouldn't come into play that often anyway.
Finally, Technician doesn't reward failure. It just makes sure that the killer doesn't know that you blew up a gen. It still regresses 5% (or more with Ruin/Lullaby) like normal, it just doesn't audibly explode. It would become a useful stealth repairing/great skillcheck training perk that I might even use myself.
Maybe..I still dont think removing killer tracking of any sort outside wounding with no counter is wise...

If the killer is skilled the game will be a challenge. Even with a competent team. The survivors will still probably win. But it'll be a fight.
And there inlies the biggest issue in dbd..

Only, no. But they can be more detrimental to your success then the killer.
I'd say it is..moris are difficult but far from impossible..and survivors still have keys...nothing else killers have at present pose much of a threat if the team is competant..which still boils down to survivor skill level being low over the killer being strong
-
@twistedmonkey said:
Certain main players only see one aide while those is us who have played both sides a lot see it differently.
We can see unbalanced things on both sides.
The issue is DBD has a lot of players which seem to think when they play killer they should be all powerful regardless of the skill of those they are versing.
They should be..however nurse was the best example of how it should be with her old base kit..powerful in the right hands no matter who you verse..but not impossible either..however most killers dont metlet that criteria

If they have brain cells. If being the key word. Most hook suicides are a result of teammates.
Which is why it's hilarious...survivors only problems right now..are survivors themselves..
-
Hmm..ok so..streetwise..exhaustion should never be tampered with in chase..its just asking for trouble..monstrous shrine encourages tunneling and honestly is pretty meh..I'd recommend a penalty for the unhooker on a cooldown or a buff for the killer of some kind ..not sure what though..but itd be more interactive..
Wake up seems like a tad much...especially the aura blocking..that should be avoided as well..as it's already been hit very hard..and technician..as nice as it would be it rewards failure and such perks should be avoided
-
They cannot be removed..but..I had an idea to help

I made my survivor buddies shocked that I a "killer main" baited and dodged a demogorgan so long a 3 person rough game turned into a total blowout
Outside the game..I came up with a massive idea to reshape keys and moris to affect the game more positively

In my honest opinion, both reward failure in certain conditions.
Granted, you're not always gonna have a perfect game, no matter HOW you play and HOW good you are.
Ultimately:
- A mori prevents failure by allowing you to take out the best survivor(s) early game.
- A key prevents failure by allowing you to escape once you have done your/most of your objective.
So in retrospect:
- A mori can guarantee your victory as a killer by severely handicapping the survivors.
- A key doesn't necessarily guarantee a victory for survivors (unless they're all SWF), which isn't always the case.
With that settled, both aren't fair, yes. And if they remove one, they have to remove the other too.
Removing them isnt an option..however..

@Peanits I feel this is very urgent to look at as oni has a patch on the way...pls do pass it on if you can

Sadly in higher ranks yes..killers in low rank and survivors in high rank tend to be spiteful

@InnCognito said:
Yes, Kobe and locker spam so the killer would come and clear the team OUT.
It is actually a RESPONSE to a greater problem.
- Player doesn't like the map.
- Player doesn't like the killer
- Player doesn't like their team mate
- Player doesnt like finding a hex.
Ultimately the survivor isn't appealing to play right now. That is the bottom line. With all of the changes that have occured over the past year. I'd be inclined to request a REWIND button that goes all the way back to 2017. Because there is not alot of appeal to this game right now for a survivor.
. With all of the stuff that has been taken AWAY from the survivor. It is outright FRUSTRATING.
It blows my mind that survivors say that when if my team mates have any brain cells it's usually so easy
-
Simply remove the struggle mash..boom..done..easy
-
Because unlike moris as powerful as they are..moris dont reward failure..keys do

Or a killer who gets red rank swf pretty often and has no issue in ending matches with 4ks (with Oni anyway). He isn't nerfed down, its just a matter of making sure you don't get your ankles snapped off of a 360 and just knowing the full extent of his power.
He has massive holes in his power now

Or.. Hear me out... It existed in the Live Version because they thought they had fixed it at that point. Just to, and really big shock coming, not actually fix it properly.
The devs, not fixing something fully, thats nonsense.
Personally, I had not played the ptb or first released Oni, and I have no issues ending loops as him.
Get the broken flick control out of your mind and stop complaining. Just learn the new one and guess what, you will see that he can still end loops just fine.
Your clearly facing scrubs I'm sorry...oni is laughably easy to avoid..he has major design flaws which can be easily exploited in his current state

I wouldn't be sad or frustrated if these changes were made, I just think that coming up with creative ideas for making the moris more difficult to use would be a better solution. I read about the 2 things they counter when being second hook and you kill them by your hand but I don't think there should be something like this in the game. Although I don't mind it existing like that, I believe it would be.....kinda unhealthy
How so?
-
Either that or bt..but I'm saying more ds because end game it has points where its uncountable
-
Buff the strongest perk in dbd..?
-
Honestly ? The devs effed up..they had no clue what they were doing to her and the results speak for themselves..nurse is nearly vanished entirely in all platforms, and those who are playing her are losing over and over again because the ones who changed her never play her..they even admitted to this..and so shes no longer fun..no.point in playing her when other killers are more enjoyable and just as powerful as her in her gutted state
-
@gizmo said:

I....what...ok so I think you're saying that the undetectable status effect is a problem in a sense that it gives killers a free hit? Well in terms of Stealth killers that's all they're gonna get before they get taken round the entire map in an attempt to get the second hit. While I can agree to some extent that it's not really skillful as someone like GhostFace or Wraith to just run up to a gen and smack someone that's really all they're gonna get. You can almost always get to a loop or safe pallet after the first hit and every stealth killer can get looped to oblivion (no idea why a certain someone says wraith doesn't get looped but he definitely does)
He never said wraith doesnt get looped..you dont listen..then again many dont

The disconnect between what the devs think is good for the game and what the community overall thinks..the devs make off decisions that just lessen the experiance a lot lately

I think her blink CD was a really bad addition. Also, never touched her ultra rates, but the triple blink on in indoor maps is impossible.
Agreed..I'd rather it do something else three blinks is pointless with that handicap..make her an addon that let's her see the aura of those she hits for a few seconds..way better and more fun
-
This is horrible...I'm going to be blunt about it..the egc is already almost completely harmless as is..the devs were too scared to do anything fun with it..but this just makes survivors have godlike power in the end game as the killer loses all tracking and has two ways they can escape with no counters or balances in exchange for exposed..its too biased to survivor so I'll be the first to tell you this would never make anything good come from it

After sewing the nurses add on rework and Oni’s addons, I can agree. Just wanted to explain why I think piercing hatchets wouldn’t be so bad.
I think Nurse is in need of another add on overhaul, but that won’t happen soon I don’t think.
I'd settle for the reduction or removal of the blink cd..nurse is the one character I dont mind her addons being a tad..niche..though I think some are TOO niche in her current condition
-
@LemeTheMeme said:

Piercing hatchets could be really good against healing survivors, body blocking survivors(especially exit gates, or blocking an injured survivor), if you get a good angle on a generator with 2 people. I feel like there is a lot of room where they would be good. Even if it’s not ultra rare quality, could be very rare.
Maybe..but I feel like something a bit more interesting would be better..killers rely on addons a lot more than survivors..balance is important but the devs have been not doing so well with addons lately

I mean, that’s if everyone else is running it. It’s not like safe hook rescues happen every game. I just feel like distortion needs a way to gain tokens. 10 seconds of no aura reading and scratch marks isn’t much really.

Just because one is trash doesnt mean they all should be..that's a rather poor way of looking at it..and even nurses addons are more likely to benafit you than piercing hatchets

Example: huntress hook a survivor and she has BBQ, she sees the survivor and throw a hatchet.
That's how she negates a chase
If by some miracle she hits which is extremely unlikely

Being able to completely negate chases AND being able to do it from range is very powerful. The drawback is, you have to be good at Huntress.
Negate chases how? She is giving up any mobility with her power..its strong..but still heavily overrated
