I have said for a long time that BHVR should implement a couple of extra rules and individual limiters. For the longest time they ran with the idea that every perk should always work to same for everyone and that there were next to no limitations, but with the sea of perks we got now, they are actually running out of design space by doing this, thus putting up more limits then freedom.
How often have you seen a new killer perk and thought "oh, thats neat and finally something that will make Trapper and the other M1 killers a bit more powerful", only to get it nerfed, because Nurse could abuse it.
I want three things:
1) hard caps on certain numerals in the game, like gen repair speed, healing speed, gen regression etc.
2) new labeling and sorting of perks into classes and a hard cap of how many perks of a class can be equipped. Two seems like a reasonable number from the top of my head.
3) outright modify or ban certain perks on certain killers. Perks like Awakened Awareness or Starstruck could shine in a whole different way, if this perks didn't have to be reigned in and limited due to how they amplyfy Nurses power. And of course there are other killers who are overtuned with certain perks that would be totally fine in other killers hands. Or imagine if certain perks had even stronger effects when slapped on an M1 killer. This would allow raising or adjusting their power, without tweaking the basic killer abilities of EVERY killer.
Just my two cents. Maybe I will write up a post for the feedback section, if I can muster the strength to do so.
1) A cap shouldn't exist, just fix it. Gens are too fast now, nerfs everythings that speed up gens this much (prove thyself, toolboxes, bnp, etc.)
2) Yes and no, because what I always liked in dbd is the personalization, and limiting the possibilities of personalization is bad.
3) They should rework every perk in the game. What I would love to see is that if you fox example use 2 perks of the Trapper on a build you gain a set bonus. I don't know if you play Monster Hunter, but if you don't play it I make you an example: in MH, if I use two or more pieces of the same set I gain a special bonus that I can obtain ONLY in this way. I can see it in dbd. So in this way, you expand the customization possibilities. Banning things is not good for the simple fact that it restricts players, when you should add experimentation for players. There will always be the meta build, but maybe instead of having the usual meta you have a meta where you can see many killers instead of the usual 3 because in one way or another, thanks to an advanced customization, you make the weaker killers can shine at higher ranks.
It isn't difficult at all, these days I'm imagining how to rework every single killer of the game and every single perk of the game, adding new mechanics and making the perks interact with them. Probably when I've finished it I will publish it on the forum, rhe only problem will be the translation seens I'm italian and I'm obviously writing it in Italian.

It's nearly impossible to tell if they're trolling or serious. You know, this community is full of noobs and so being here can also be serious. Also because for many surv mains who have never played killer in their entire life, killers are really broken, when in reality, killers would need a nice buff (or rather, survs would need a nice nerf, obviously for all perks for gen speed and toolboxes)

I've seen that build once in probably 6-700 killer games I played since Hyperfocus was released. Couple of bnps a bit more often, but actual stacked genrushing builds like that, only once.
Meanwhile how many times do I see a killer with 3/4 slowdowns? Ironically, most of them are terrible at the game too and lose anyway

Thats nothing about double standards if you see your setup mabye once in 1000 games (which shows that this isnt even a good build to go with), but those 4 slowdowns in 9 out of 10 games and it doesnt even matter what killer you play. get some reason into your rants at least.
But are we playing a different game or what? How is it possible that I, as well as my friends and many other people I know, are always against genrush builds? It seems that on this forum I talk to people who have never caught organized premades that make 3 gen within 20 seconds.
I don't know at what level you play, not even how much you actually play killer, but I alternate between killer and surv and, when I play killer, I always get at least 2 prove per game, endless toolboxes, hyperfocus is rare now because it requires a brain to be used. And even with 4 slowdowns gens fly, because slowdowns need a certain condition to be used (see pain resonance, you need to hook on a scourge, pop needs you to hook and kick a gen within 45 seconds, eruption needs you to kick first and then knock down a surv, and so on), unlike toolboxes and prove which are free bonuses to gen speed.
Do you see the difference? Gen speed perks are brain dead (exept hyperfocus), slowdown require the killer to actually be good to use them. Stop complaining about 4 slowdowns when these perks rewards the killer for playing good, while survs can get free gen speeds out of nothing.
-
I would love a Demon Slayer chapter. Douma and/or Kokushibo as a killer would be perfect, especially Douma as he is a psychopath of the worst kind. We've seen a collaboration with AoT (and I think no one could have guessed that it would come) so maybe one day they will collab with other anime franchises to make skins or chapters.

Ask yourself how stacking 3-4 perks on a single objective is a good idea for the game.
Ask yourself how stacking 4 bnp, 4 toolboxes, 4 hyperfocus, 4 prove thyself, etc is a good idea for the game. I don't understand this double standards. Why killers can't stack 3-4 slowdowns while survs can stack lots of gen speed perks?
-
I don't like "Determination", because why giving them haste and gen speed bonus? Give them healing bonus, or vault speed bonus to give them the oppurtunity for a flashlight save/pallet save. Also, "Two face" is a good idea, but 10% is too much. 5% would be top.
If you don't go into balancing these perks, however, all 3 are great ideas.

Seriously? Plague? One of the most balanced killer in the game. She doesn't need a rework at all, she's already perfect.

I think Killers consistently sitting on a 3 gen, dragging the match out past 30 minutes might have had something to do with the regression perks getting nerfed.
Same with healing. Killers spammed anti-healing perks during the PTB, making every match a grindy, obnoxious nightmare. So the devs changed it. Both Killer and Survivor players abuse whatever they can in game. When that happens, the devs change it. It might take them years to do so, but they do.
There's no way that the devs are not looking at toolboxes. I can almost guarantee that a nerf will appear at some point. I'd even wager it will happen this year.
Honestly, the fact that your response to someone, who essentially was not able to play the game for nine matches straight is basically "You deserve it, because some survivors gen rush", is just sad. No matter how badly I get griefed by toxic Killer players, I still genuinely feel bad when I see one getting trolled and tea bagged by an organised SWF group.
People really need to stop giving themselves permission to not feel any empathy for the other side. The toxic part of this community is very loud, but it's a small minority. The vast majority of players you encounter are decent people who just want to have some fun.
3gen is the survs fault in most cases, but hey why punish the survivors for their mistakes? Ok, killers like Knight and Skull merchant live on 3gen, but at this point, rework killers no? It would be the most sensible choice instead of going to nerf the perks (something that ALL killers suffer from, not just the 2 interested parties who live with 3gen).
Killers will spam anti-healing perks because they have to slow survs into something right? They don't have gen regression, at this point they go to anti-healing.
I doubt that the devs will touch toolboxes, bnp and prove thyself since it doesn't seem like they intend to stop genrush, indeed with the overzelous buff it seems quite the opposite, or rather that they want to encourage it.
One last thing, I play to win not to make you have a good time. Obviously I avoid being toxic (unless my opponents are), but I play to win, not to have fun. Ok, obviously also for fun, but above all I want to win and, even if my opponents don't take it well, I'm not interested.

why do you still try to 12 hook if your win stats went down so much?
In fact now I hard tunnel in every match. It's the only allowed strategy against strong premade

I just got camped and tunneled out of a game for the nth time today, so I am emotional and going to rant. How come when killers cried about dead hard, they nerf the perk every time. However, survivors have asked and asked to prevent camping and tunnelling but nothing has happened except for base kit BT. How come the devs ignore their community?????? We asked for a solution to this problem, because it makes survivor a living hell and not fun to play when the killer tunnels them out. Killers cry and they get responded to. Survivors cry and they ignore us. It is just frustrating getting tunneled and camped out of a game.
This is community's fault. 99% of main suvs want to see all gen defense perks dead (Obviously without killing prove thyself, bpn and toolboxes), so the killers have to adapt by tunneling and camping. It's community's fault, and also devs' fault because they care only about one side (survivors) and don't even play killer in public matches against the top of the top swf.
It's your fault that you keep complaining about things that aren't even unbalanced, causing unnecessary nerfs. Now enjoy the consequences, killer must tunnel and camp to win because they know that gens go too fast. If gens go fast, killer must kill fast no?

They recently confirmed that it isn't scrapped yet.
I hope that if they make the "Finisher mori" go live they do it with a sense, since in ptb it was the ######### of the #########. I hope first in a balance of the game anyway instead of this bullshit here. These devs didn't understand that this game must be balanced and inserting this crap does nothing but annoy the players (or rather, annoys those who understand something about the game and play at high levels)

With 6000 hours in it is so obvious the game is unbalanced and killer sided. If you don't believe that, you do not play solo queue survivor. I've played both sides and there is no comparison. Killer mains who believe it is their right to always get a 4k disagree.
What are some of the best suggestions (which are routinely ignored by developers) you have heard by playersto balance the game?
I came to this conclusion after watching the futility of four survivors with a combined experience time of over 16000 hours be destroyed by a killer with 230 hours of play leads me to believe it is a glaring and obvious unbalanced game.
So I am hoping to collect in one post the most often repeated good ideas which have been ignored.
I'll start it off:
1.) Certain perk combinations are not permitted. For instance, place all perks into categories like gen regression, or aura reading, etc. Only one perk from a category can be used in a game so you do not have multiple perks which make a particular activity impossible. So no instant gen regression combos which make doing gens impossible. Or only one perk which effects heal times. Or no multiple aura reading combinations.
2.) Balanced perks, for every positive there is an equal negative. Too often DLC releases with a new perk selection which gives one side a great perk and the other side gets three new perks which do bupkiss.
You lost me at "With 6000 hours in it is so obvious the game is unbalanced and killer sided".
If you have 6000 hours in dbd and you think is killer side, or you're absolute trash, or you never played killer in your life (or maybe 2 match).
I played solo survivor, the problem is that other survs are trash. When the killer chase me, I keep him for a very long time, and I kept the killer for 5 gens in multiple matches. Also, when I play with my friends in swf, we win 90% of games, why? Because we are strong and we know how to play. Soloq survivors are 99% trash, I never found a soloq surv who was actually good in something. They waste time, open chests, break dull totem. But the problem is that killers are too strong (lol no), not that they waste time.
I give you the same advice that I give to everyone who say that the game is killer side. Try playing only killer every day at least 4 hours per day, reach high mmr and try to win against strong squads without tunneling and proxy camping. Obviously play every killer, not only nurse or blight, play them all. Let's see if after you reach top mmr you want to play killer again. If you want more proves that the game is surv side, go watch every patch that came out last year. Only nerfs to gen regression, and toolboxes, prove thyself and bnp still here. Also, they added a new gen speed perk with the skull merchant chapter ("friendly competition" of Thalita) and buffed Overzealous, so I don't see the Devs intention to block genrush, instead I see more Devs intending to counter tunneling without understanding that people tunnel because if the surv's goal goes fast, the killer's goal must go hand in hand or be more quick to win.
If you want to discuss, I have lots of idea on how to balance the game, but this forum isn't the right place to talk. It's full of shitheads who don't understand a thing about the game and talk anyway, probably having 200 hours
-
I think it's officially scrapped. Sad, if I don't search on YouTube, I never see the mori of a killer
-
Ok, it depends on what you mean by garbage. I agree with you, don't get me wrong, but maybe we have different opinions about it.
I say a surv is garbage when he/she is only good in making gens, like 90% of survs. Good survivors who don't need to genrush to win are rare, because they don't need to learn how to chase anymore. They can just go down continuosly and still win with 3 or 4 escape because they genrush (if the killer doesn't tunnel).
Nowadays, it's very, VERY rare to find survs who actually know how to chase a killer and don't need to genrush to win.
Sadly killers nowadays have to see all their perks, add ons and powers nerfed to the ground while survs complain about needed nerfs, and it is very likely that Devs will also satisfy them by reverting nerfs, but only for survs of course.
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
they literally can't do anything because some of you will complain about everything.
Of course some of their changes are questionable, I agree with that but when they try to do something different for a change that can modify the whole game for better or worse, there will always be complaints no matter what they do.
I feel that the more the community or even the devs themselves want a competitive game, DBD is getting pretty limited and monotonous in terms of what they can do.
" You can't do that because it will encourage tunneling..."
" With this change, camping will be worse.."
" this change will make nurse and strong killers even stronger.."
" this change will affect new players.."
" Soloq will get even worse"
" the devs only listen to one side.."
The community is trying to achieve a goal that is simply not possible and this is limiting the game more and more. DBD will always have flaws like any other game and it's time people accept that.
If you want to hear intelligent people, don't write on this forum. It's full of toxic people who think they know everything about this game and probably they have 200 hours and never played one of the two sides. Veterans who play both sides and understand the game, sadly, are very few.

I'm a main pyramid head, trust me the cage is useful.
First you don't have to worry about flashlight saves, pallet saves, sabo squad and you save lots of times because you instantly teleport survs on the hook.
Second, if you have experience with pyramid head, you already know where the cage spawns even if you don't see it, I always know (or anyway 99% of the time)
Third, you invalidate their perks, and that's only fair because it's survs fault if they step on torment, because they can crouch to avoid it.
Pyramid head is one of the most balanced killers in the game, play it more and you will see all his potential.

But you also risk losing all the pressure a hook can give given the cage can spawn right next to a teamate.
If you play ph you instantly know where the cage is. I'm a main pyramid head and also if I don't see the cage, I already know where it is.
There is a possibility that it spawn next to a surv, but hey you save a lot of time also if it spawn next to a surv because you don't need to find an hook, you aren't vulnerable to bodyblock, you're invulnerable to flashlight saves/pallet saves and you don't have to worry about sabo squads.

"If you're good, you're supposed to get at least 3k every match"
What did you mean with that, if not that you think the game should be aimed at a 75/25% winrate for killers/survivors?
It is an exaggeration to mean that if one is good he should have the possibility, at high levels, to win many games (because 3k is victory) against his peers, which is currently not the case because, as I will always say, currently 4 survivors with the same skill level of the killer they are facing have more chances of victory than the killer, because as a surv you can break the game by removing a very good part of repair time from the generators, and we are not talking about 20 seconds, we are talking about 70 seconds removed and the possibility of seeing 3 generators start in about 20/30 seconds, without the possibility of a reaction from the killer.
Obviously winning every game is physically impossible, otherwise there would be a fundamental problem.
If you thinked that with "If you're good, you're supposed to get at least 3k every match" I meant that killer is 75% skill and survs 25% skill, you just misunderstood what I meant. Of course I, being good, have to meet my peers, otherwise it would be boring to play in the first place, secondly, from a certain point of view, I would feel guilty towards those poor people I caught who maybe had just started playing and they catch me against I've been playing for 6 years now.
As I said previously, this game a few years ago was still unbalanced, but increasingly balanced than now because being against people of the same level meant having a challenge to whoever was better at predicting and closing the chase quickly (killer) or holding more (surv). In fact, I won 90% of my games without even concentrating, because all my mind games were successful and survs, losing chases very quickly, had no chance to react. Now even if they suck at chasing, they have tons of safe pallets and do gens too fast and smoothly since killers have no gen defense anymore.
I apoligize for my English, I'm Italian.

That's not what you're arguing for though. You're arguing that, all else even, survivors should have a 25% win rate, with killers getting 75%-100% winrate.
I don't see where you read this, and I think you dreamed it. I never said that survs with 25% win rate should face a killer with 75-100% win rate. Survs with a range like 70%-95% win rate should face killers with the same range of win rate, the problem is that survs have the advantages with this because they can break the game with things that shave like 70 seconds from a gen. I'm saying that the challenge shouldn't be based on how fast you make your objectives, it's not a speed run, it should be based only around on how you play.
Now, if you keep saying that I said "Oh but you said that survs with 25% should face killers with 70-100% win rate" I want you to prove it, because I never said such a thing

You misunderstood my concept. Instead of map spawns like 12 pallets. Reduced 1 third to 8. Then 4 wood items spawn around the map. Get the item to build pallets (only able to build non-broken pallets so 5 shack pallets is not a thing).
So pretty much instead of 12 pallets spawn by default, survivors have to build 4 of them.
there is no way you can think this idea is favor to survivors.
Survivors need more thing to do but not extend Gen time
Oh ok, now it sounds good. Sorry for the misunderstanding, now THIS is a good idea to add something new to the gameplay that won't break the game. Less pallets + if they want some extra pallet they have to build them, nice idea

I love how you ignore “of course the match starts with less resources”
I haven't ignored it, sorry if I gave you this semblance. Simply, re-create resources for free is too op, also if you start with less resources. It would require a lot of balancing to be a fair function, and would still be unbalanced in certain situations. Imagine a bully squad that can re-create pallets really quick for free

How on earth would that work? If you're good, and you're up against equally qualified opponents, how is the game supposed to be balanced if one side has a 25% winrate, and the other has a 100% 'win' rate, with a good chance of being a total landslide victory? That doesn't sound balanced to me.
If you are good it is right that you face people at your same skill level, but it is right that you have the same chances of winning. Currently, 4 survs that each have the same skill as a killer have a better advantage, because the game is unbalanced in their favor and, even if the killer plays it better than them, the survs still have an advantage because they manage to make gen in very few seconds. If you give same possibilities to win to both killers and survs, you find yourself in a game that rewards which parts play better
-
@C3Tooth said:

I always thought Survivors are too depended on RNG resource that the maps give. Pallets, Chests, Items that they bring, Teammate. Their main goal is to complete Gens before resources depleted. Or else after a chase is only TL and W.
There must be something for survivors to re-create lost resource, of course a match also starts with less resource.
The only important things are pallets. To open a chest is wasting time. There are lots of safe pallets in every map, survs doesn't need to learn how to loop because they can throw pallet after pallet and leave time to the others to make all gens and escape.
If you waste your resources, it's your fault. It isn't fair that survs can re-create their resources, because if survs can re-create their resources, also killers must have this possibility, for example make killer reactivate hexes.

Its strange, I play Trapper without slowdown and tunnel, still have roughly 55% kill rate.
Even if you have 1-2K average, MMR would push you down to play against weaker teams to ensure you have higher kill rate. And if you have 3-4K average, MMR would make you play against better teams to force you lose.
Devs once said, however you play, it should work half of the time.
As reply to op, the game isnt balanced for 4K (since the title is 12 hooks game, unless 12 hooks mean 2-3K and not 4K)
It would sound stupid if I say How to make 4 escape games feasible. Its not, the game isnt balanced for 4 escape either
Don't get me wrong, win rate it's not a problem for me. It's rare for me to end a match with less than 3 kill. In the beginning, when genrush became a problem, I have neither tunneled nor camped, in fact I have lost so many matches. I started tunneling more and more heavily and brought my win rate back to around 80/90%. Obviously because I'm good in chase. I end my chases in like 20 seconds. The real problem is that dbd force you to play in a certain way to kill more than 1 surv, because you need to tunnel and camp.
If you're good in chase, you end chase quickly, why you have to loose because survs can make 3 gens in 30 seconds? If you're good in chase, you should win every game, same surv. I'm good in chase as surv, in fact in my swf I'm the one who keeps the killer the most in chase (and it's so much fun).
As I said, before genrush became a problem tunneling and camping weren't needed. Now genrush is a problem, so you have to tunnel to win. I don't care about it, I play to win, I play to win as many matches as I can. I don't play to draw. This game should be balanced around 4k and 4 escapes, because it would be balanced around strong killers who manage to make 4k, and strong survs who manage to make 4 escapes. Every game is balanced around top players, I don't see why dbd shouldn't be balanced around them.
I apologize for my English, I'm Italian.

survivors wanting fun games(as well as killers) usually state that chases are the most fun part of the game.
so what are your thoughts on how we can balance the game so that killers don't lose gens quickly during chases and make it fun for survivors so that multiple hooks are feasible?
would making pain res (at 15 percent) pop on every hook be seen as to op or even a basekit jolt/deadlock for killers? how about smaller map sizes and less god pallets so there are more mind gameable chases (reducing bloodlust gains to compensate)?
i would love to hear from both killer and survivor mains to see if there is a compromise on how to achieve this.
Nerf all gen speed perks, destroy them all. Destroy bnp and nerf significantly toolboxes.
Add "prizes" for choosing to not tunnel, for example make that survs are less efficient if they have been hooked. So you don't want to tunnel because if you tunnel someone out, the other survs have 100% efficiency, if you do mixed hooks you find yourself with survs that are slower in repairing, healing, etc. Obviously this needs a balance, for example a surv alone is 25% slower in repairing after being hooked once, but when repairing with someone else is 10% slower instead of 25% (These numbers are to give an idea on what I mean). This wuold encourage mixed hooks because instead of punish tunneling, you give a prize to the killer because he choose to not tunnel. With a mechanic like this, also, devs can play around it with perks and add on for both killers and survs.
-
@C3Tooth said:
You dont. You're not supposed to get 4k every match.
If you're good you're supposed to get at least 3k every match. Before genrush was a problem I never tunneled/camped, all matches 4k. Now also if I play well and I don't tunnel, I find myself with lots of hooks, but 1k max 2k.
-
Pain resonance is a joke now, and it seems devs want to make fun of us. Why should I use a perk that work only 4 times in a match and doesn't give me ANY value? A perk that has a limit to how much it can be used needs MORE value than this, because if it was like 50% (I say a high number to give an idea) it was like "Oh, if I don't tunnel I get immediatly high value from this perk". 25% does not encourage mixed hooks, indeed it encourages not to use the perk since it is limited to a maximum of 4 uses.
CoH needed at least 75% bonus healing, 100% maybe is too much in my opinion but it was overnerfed.
DH... Ok, now it's still nerfed, is a good thing... But Devs doesn't understand that killers will do the same thing that they've done with otr: hit the guy in the hook immediatly after he's saved, so you trigger bk endurance and you don't have to worry about anything. DH before was a problem, now it seems fine to me. The real problem is that Devs keep pushing tunneling for killers and genrush for survs. About this...
Killers don't have gen defence anymore, what they have? Thana? What a joke. Devs doesn't understand that after this patch tunneling and proxy camping will increase exponentially. The sad thing is, as always, Devs revert things for survs but not for killers. But hey this game isn't surv side right? Devs didn't nerfed ALL gen regression perks without touching toolboxes, prove, bnp, etc, right? (Sarcasm)
I hope devs wake up and think that now it's time to put an end to both genrush and tunneling. Fix genrush, reward killers for mixed hook instead of punishing them for tunneling, and you will see that finally all the worthless dross in this game will be purged. Unskilled survs who are good only in doing gens will finally be punished because they aren't able to keep the killer in chase for more than 20 seconds.

DBD is going to remain a "weaponized" mess at high MMR. Gens will fly and the camping/tunneling will get somehow worse.
You are right though that Than is a dead perk. It does basically nothing unless everyone is hurt and that immediately forces one player to make sure they aren't hurt to ruin your bonus - while everyone else just rushes generators.
Probably if everyone run terminus + sloppy bhvr will nerf them, because Devs think that nerfing everything without buffing anything is good.

I defend Survivors because I'm a Killer main.
I'd like to have a challenge in my games, I'm averaging a 85% kill rate and it gets boring.
I play almost exclusively Killer. Nearly every DH can be baited or negated. Sometimes, you still get hit with it. Some people are THAT good.
It's not very common, that's copium and an excuse for poor gameplay.
Literally I discovered that auto dh exist like 1 or 2 weeks ago, before this I had only the suspect that can exist such a cheat. Before, both me and my friend who play both roles equally, said that it's impossible for survs to time it this perfectly (but we thought was only skill, because nobody of us knewed that auto dh exist). Ok it can happen one time, two times, but when is 99,9% impossible because you don't have the time to react to the hit and press dh, this is obviously autodh, and it happens in like all of my matches. It's funny to see that you, a "killer main", didn't notice it. If you really are a killer main, you notice every single thing that are too strange to be legit.
"I defend surv because I'm a killer main", did you say this? Mh, sorry but I don't agree with your statement. If you're really a killer main with "avarage 85% of kill rate" there are 4 possibilities:
1) You play in low mmr
2) You play only Nurse and Blight
3) You hard tunnel and camp at 5 gens
4) Both 1, 2 and 3
Sorry, but it's not possible that you have 85% of kill rate and you defend surv, because 85% of kill rate will mean that you're in high mmr (since mmr rise really fast), and in high mmr playing killer is an hell, except for Nurse, Blight and maybe spirit with mother daughter+ blossom. If we talks only about kills, bro every match I end up with at least 3/4 because I don't slug for the hatch (boring), killing really isn't a problem for me. But it's not good that for win a killer match at top mmr I have to live with the constant anxiety of being genrushed because I don't have gen defence perk anymore (since all of them got destroyed), and lots of killer mains complain about the anxiety that a killer match can make you feel. Gens are too fast, you need to tunnel and camp early game to make the match winnable. I think I saw you saying that tunneling and camping aren't needed, well bro let me tell you something: in high and top mmr, if you don't tunnel, you loose. It's an "enjoy t bagging at exit gate", because you maybe do lots of hooks, but max 1 or 2 kill, if you end up with a 4/4 at top mmr without tunneling you met really noobs. That's it

Auto-DH is extremely rare.
Most people just use it as copium for getting read by the Survivor
Auto dh exist, and it's very common. I see you in like every post, and you defend only survs, so I'm pretty sure you're a surv main so probably you don't see it because you don't play killer that much (I don't want to argue with anybody, so don't take it as an insult). So, how do I know that autodh is very common? Because dh can be baited very easily. So what I do is basically be very near to the surv I'm chasing, so I don't have to slunge because slunge = enjoy dh, and I wait like a second or two. So, how is possible that EVERY surv I meet with dh can time it perfectly even in a situation like this? Now tell me, in a situation nearly impossible to understand when the killer is gonna attack, you time dh perfectly. Maybe one time, two times, but always? Nah bro, simply people doesn't notice it but if you watch really carefully you will see how many survs use autodh. Obviously, you need to play in high mmr, because as I will always say, cheaters and subtle cheaters are only in high/top mmr for obvious reasons.

@illNicola should respond to this thread. Hes the self proclaimed best of the absolute best when it comes to high mmr in dbd.
Sorry if I'm strong and I don't deny it. It would be silly for me to talk without knowing ######### about the game, don't you think? As many do on this forum, they don't know #########, they barely have 200 hours and they talk. However, I have the right to talk about how the game should be fixed as I'm a veteran and am at high mmr with both surv and killer, if it bothers you that's your problem (and since you tagged me I wouldn't be surprised).
Oh and if you want to hear my opinion so badly, well this guy said nothing new. Genrush will be the next meta if the patch go live, but not because the dh nerf (because surv mains say that bhvr force them to genrush because dh nerf), but because first of all there aren't any side quest for survs, secondly all gen regression perks are destroyed and prove thyself is still here (also the buff of overzealous does not bode well, it almost seems that the devs want to see genrush). Also, as the guy said, at top mmr resilience will become meta because survs feel more confident in remaining injured, but if they're injured chase will proceed faster because the first hit is usually easy (at least for me the first hit is usually easy, I don't know for others). In the end, this patch is good on one side because finally dh is nerfed, reducing the "auto dh" that will be in one game (because I think everyone knows that bhvr nerfed it in this way because they aren't able to fix auto dh script), also healing is nerfed (coh maybe is too much, because personally I would've done 75% bonus, no self healing) and is good because medikit and their add-ons are busted af, but on the other side all gen defence is dead, and without seeing bnp, toolboxes and prove thyself getting nerfed... Well, genrush will be even heavier.
-
If you're from ps5 it's because of this. With cross play off on ps5, you will only find people from ps5 with cross play off.
If you're from ps4, well I don't know, because when I played on ps4 I never turned on cross play to avoid cheaters
-
One of the most counterable perk in the game if you have a brain.
My swf and I do those saves even with the active noed that you don't imagine. Just learn to live with it and you will see that noed isn't that strong. Obviously if you play in soloq (that we can call solopain) it's almost impossible to win with noed, but soloq is already pain so why play in soloq?

@Kimdinhold said:
Hope devs will do something about gen speed.
Nerfing prove thyself, bnp and toolboxes. After that, fix tunnel and camp by giving killers prizes (no bp) for not tunneling, so killers say "If I don't tunnel that guy, I have this advantage that make me keep better gens. Cool" (it's an example). This will bring back dbd to its former glory.

@solidhex said:
Dead Hard wasn't an issue, the issue was teams with Adrenaline rushing gens, and this is even getting worse now. Hit&run is back, the first hit is now much more important, but if you're not good enough in chase you will just lose because no gen control perk can save your ass now. On survivor sided maps, they will just stay injured and rush gens because they have too many pallets to go down fast enough for the killer to gain momentum. You really need to snowball and force the injured survivors to either heal or go for very unsave unhooks...
Now in fact my hope is that devs finally work on both genrush and tunnel. Also busted maps for survs needs lots of work on, but hey give them time. Maybe it's finally time to see dbd back in his former glory!
For the first time I'm positive about it
-
Because prove gives only bp right? It doesn't speed up too much gens in a game where also 1 second can change a match

I’m happy about the DH nerf but all this post does is inflame the us vs them toxicity that plagues this game. I hope it gets deleted by the mods
Update - I see it already got edited by a mod
My post is deliberately provocative, I thought you noticed. More than fueling the "us against them", I wrote it just to, in fact, provoke and make me laugh. It has absolutely no intention of offending anyone, on the contrary it wants to highlight that the devs are slowly waking up and it seems that they want to bring dbd back to its original splendor. I hope I don't sing victory too soon, the patch has yet to go live

We will meet again in a month, when the one crying will still be you, maybe this time targeting sprint burst or something else.
Never cried about sprint burst lol, the only real problem remain prove thyself and all the gen speed survs can gain with 0 effort (like bnp, busted toolboxes and so on). Sprint burst, in my opinion, remains a perk for noob. But it's my opinion, happy to hear different opinions!

If "ruined" is too strong a word for you, then I suppose "took the wind out of the sails" is more appropriate? Regardless, they were spamming everything to do with the chapter on social media and picking fights. It was my first introduction to the fanbase, and I can see why people say they aren't keen to deal with them.
And I would disagree with the possibility of it being a fantastic chapter. But that just comes down to personal preference. My 6 and 8 year olds play it and it's jumpscare robot animals.
I'm sad this happened, also because it is a minority of the community. Unfortunately, every community has its toxic side and thankfully, most are not like that. But just as on dbd there are those who wish you sickness and tell you to commit suicide, on FNAF there are people who probably didn't understand the importance of Pinhead and felt "robbed" of the chapter they've been waiting for for years.
Also, as I said to the other guy, FNAF will be a top chapter. Sprintrap will fit better in dbd than FNAF, there are so many possibilities for it to be strong and funny to play/face. Try it if you want, it wouldn't get all this attention if it sucked

It got bad enough that the subreddit for DBD literally BANNED any mention of FNAF.
Their fandom is somehow more toxic than DBD. It seems to be made up of children and adults who act like children, for the most part.
Ultimately, FNAF won't work in DBD. It was an almost unique horror game in 2014, but it really only has some cheap jumpscares going for it. There's very little substance to the game and it simply won't translate well.
So yes, I'm all for denying that toxic community a way in.
Oh and one last thing, FNAF would work really well in dbd. Sprintrap will fit better in dbd than FNAF, if you want, I'll also give you a concept that I imagined (based on the original game of Springtrap, FNAF 3), so you can see how well it would run on dbd

Fnaf luckily evolved, in fnaf security breach you actually move in the pizzeria, escaping from the animatronics while they hunt you. Yes, the chapters before help wanted are made with "cheap jumpscares", but they managed somehow to get lot of attention.
However, I don't know and don't honestly believe that the fnaf fandom is more toxic than the dbd fandom, until at least I don't see actually toxic messages/posts. Also because, I doubt there are people like in the dbd community who say "Hang yourself" or heavily insult you and your family, wishing you illness

I really just dont understand the hate Scott still gets. At the time, yeah, it stung really bad. But he apologized, gave us a rather decent explanation, and somewhat gave the series to Steelwool. As an LGBT person, I can forgive Scott for what he did. He's donated to the Trevor project and other amazing charities, which in my opinion outweighs what he got doxxed over.
Relating for the chapter, I just cant see Springtrap running around Badham chasing an e-girl wearing bunny ears. Maybe if it was actually just William as a human, I could get behind it.
For the last part: I can't see Myers chasing an e-girl in a bunny suit either, yet it happens

i feel like fnaf could have a halloween event for the nightmare characters and would go out with a big big bang
It doesn't make sense because we already have a "Nightmare" killer: Freddy Krueger.

I don't hate FNAF it has its fans & its audience I just have less than zero interest in it being part of dbd.
Especially in place of other true "horror" icons that could / should be in first.
I don't believe it would bring a mass influx of players nor retain the vast majority of anyone who did give it a try & I can see nothing but post after post on here about why it's either the best or worst chapter ever. Sure you could argue that about most chapters but it would be just turn into yet another us vs them (FNAF fans vs non fans) day after day.
Like I said I want Chucky, a lot of people want Chucky, will we get Chucky? Probably someday & hey a lot of people will hate him too, he'll be too small, too fast, too weak, too strong (okay probably not) its all subjective opinion.
Honestly if something comes out & you like it great doesn't matter if you're in the majority or the minority of the player base.
Demogorgon is in dbd, and people still want stranger things back, and stranger things isn't a horror series. Shall we talk about the original chapters then? Does the trickster look scary to you? A shirtless kpop singer who throws knives (and also sucks as killer). So if we want to talk about things that clash next to horror icons, well they are already there.
You don't believe it would bring a mass influx of player, and you're wrong about this. FNAF hasn't an online game, so fans who see that they can play as Springtrap in a game will be drawn to try dbd and if Springtrap is cool maybe try the Huntress, then try another killer, another one, play surv and so on. It's a spinning wheel, if one likes the concept of the game sooner or later they get to try other characters. Now consider how many fans FNAF has, that's it. Hundreds of new players would come, as has happened with every licensed chapter.

I was neutral on it to begin with, but the FNAF fans ruined Pinheads chapter imo. Pinhead is a massive horror icon yet they absolutely flooded the official posts and release info with negativity. Just because they'd fooled themselves into thinking the hints - which included a literal *scene* from Hellraiser - were about FNAF. They accused the devs of intentionally leading them on, when everyone and their mum picked up that it was a Hellraiser chapter from the first hint. Like we just got PINHEAD and they're angry. I understood then why so many people were against a FNAF chapter and against drawing the fanbase over. The sad thing is, from a business perspective, they'd be perfect to cater to.
I remember this. I haven't seen hellraiser so I don't remember if I thought it was FNAF as well. I don't see why fnaf fans ruined hellraiser. They were just sad that their favorite game didn't make it into dbd. Obviously, like any community, there are dickheads who write bullshit, but as it exists on dbd it exists everywhere.
I want to ask you something though. In your opinion, is it right that a possible fantastic chapter, with a killer who can really have a unique power with many possibilities to be strong, be rejected by the dbd community just because some people are pissed at the community from which the chapter comes?
In my opinion not, and above all because this community is already very toxic, so going to say "I don't want FNAF because they "ruined" (which ruined is a big word) hellraiser" or "I don't want FNAF because their community is toxic/full of children (not to think that there aren't children playing on dbd eh)" it doesn't make sense.

The animatronics are nowhere near scary when you take them out of dark dingy corridors seen through grainy security cameras and instead put them in an environment where they can't just jumpscare you.
DBD isn't a horror game. Or rather, it's not scary at all. It's scary only when you face killer's like Ghostface, but the rest of the game isn't scary at all. If you know only the "base" animatronics (Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy) ok, they aren't scary, but Springtrap, in my opinion, is one of the best and yet scary design ever made.
And if a fnaf chapter ever come to dbd, it should work around the jumpscare mechanic. Maybe a stealth killer like Wraith, that can jumpscare survs and oneshot them with a dash. Something like this

It's a children's game.
It attracts some of the worst people. When there was even a possibility that the next chapter was FNAF, the Forums and Reddit were flooded with spam posts and if you disagreed, woah boy get ready for some absolutely toxic vitriol.
The creator.
One last thing, bro seriously you complain about "some of the worst people"? Don't get me wrong, but have you seen what community we are in? DBD has one of the most toxic communities I've ever seen, second only to lol I think
