  • enduring hasnt effected that in a long time. spirit fury still triggers but I assume its to not instantly punish asurvivor for a timed drop.

First disclosure, I do think gen time could stand to be increased a bit and the game is survivor sided at high ranks, but...

Everyone in an uproar about that Otz youtube where he was constantly chasing and downing people and they still managed to finish four gens, how many of your teams are really like that?

As survivor I can lead the killer on a two minute chase and literally not see one gen pop, then find out one teammate was following us and the other is crouched in a corner.

As a killer I’ve lost mind games or ate a stupid DS and still managed a 4K with 4 gens left. Did I play well, not really, but survivors have some weird phobia to actually accomplishing anything useful.

So yes, that game video shows how unbalanced it can be at a certain level with certain addons, but again let’s not act like you even see that 1/10 games.

I agree with you overall. But it doesn't change the fact that this is still a possibility, and even regular for some players. You shouldn't balance around the 1% but BHVR is outright refusing to acknowledge this is even possible and actively attempting to convince players otherwise.

Killers: wraith glitch where he is stuck in cloak form when flashlight burned. Hag having major delays in her traps when triggered making them less useful. Spirit not being able to hear survivors who are right next to her when phasing. Ghostface’s stealth ability being just a general mess.

    The devs: y'all hear something?

Survivors: DS ISN'T TRIGGERING EVEN THOUGH I HIT THE SKILL CHECK!!!

The devs: We are so sorry to hear about that so to compensate for that it will be fixed in the next hot fix and along with that you will have five seconds of invulnerability after using DS.

remember the game breaking basement glitch that was gone in a matter of days?

okay now remember killer sounds were broken for close to 3 months? theres your answer

Looks like you were punished for the playstyle, looks like you slugged given the scores of the cake using survivors and the fact you are iri on gen D,

Killing 4 people is 25% of the score. So if you want pips you need to chase, defend, hook and kill.

So doing 25% wont get you a pip!

In the last minute I managed to slug 2 while one was on the hook and quickly saw the other crouching behind a wall. Outside of that I didnt slug at all and usually dont unless Im myers or ghostface.

  • @ImmortalReaver said:

You only got 23k which shows that was a relatively short match. You expect to pip at red ranks with a short match?

23k is no small amount even for a ten or so minute match. And I got 1 gen grab which in the long run cost me more than I would have gained from using my power in a chase for 2 hits.

  • Rank 1 feels easier to me but I think its because theres more boosted survivors at rank 1 than ever now.

Im getting rank 1 survivors actively running FROM pallets to dead zones.

Its not fun to go against an uncounterable loop god hit squad but id rather feel challenged than feel bad for destroying baby survivors

  • I got called a camper because two survivors followed me to the hook while one "hook teched" me (which is absolute ######### by the way devs pls) and got called a camper because I didnt leave. Like what are they expecting me to do there?

  • Its only the 3rd of February and we already have a contender for dumbest thread of the year

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

I just wish Freddy took some skill. He's pretty balanced power wise.

Its perfectly fine for a killer to take survivor knowledge and mind gaming to be strong over physical skill like nurse and spirit

  • @ppo8820 said:

Yes he was annoying before but now he’s just insufferable. Just played a round against him and it was not fun in the least. Also, is he faster now? Nobody could loop him as he caught up right away without any effort. I thought the whole nerf/rework patch was based on him being annoying? So they made him extra annoying or what?

hes still loopable with a little brains. You cant counter his power by looping unsafe pallets anymore, as it absolutely should be.

  • Id rather they just cancel it if ive hooked someone else since. If I find you again under a minute from your unhook having hooked someone else and I get stunned by an "anti tunnel perk" somethings wrong.

  • I feel like the people asking for this nerf didnt play against the old double invincibility bt.

That was op as hell and had no negatives. New bt is fine outside of deepvwound being an awfully designed mechanic. You're still looking at a hook trade against. camping m1 killer. its only an escape by an exit gate and if so the killer should have planned better

  • @Advorsus said:

Why is no one else talking about the random basement blinks? Lol is it just me? Like go to blink to someone outside a structure, randomly blink to the basement. Go to blink out, won't let you blink out. Have to actually walk out and by that time the survivor is long gone. This happens constantly to me. I could be aiming for the sky and end up in the basement lol then it becomes impossible to pass through again.

oh god that too. Getting the game as her made me want to kill myself more than when I get it as trapper

  • I played her a bit in the past and did ok I guess. I just dont find her very enjoyable to play and mistakes hurt her more than probably any other killer.

The nerf that pretty much only hurt amatuer and intermediate nurses, follows by the slowdown nerf removed any chance of me picking her up again.

    Her cosmetics are awesome

  • @MiniPixels said:

There's been a lot of discussion about Killer nerfs on the forums lately so I thought I'd change things up a bit.

When I used to think of Killers that needed buffs Doctor was always one of the first to come to mind. Now that the Doctor has gotten his resurgence in viability. I personally would choose the Clown for obvious reasons, but I don't know what they could add to his kit to make him viable, I've tossed around ideas of forcing a slow vault when under the effects of the tonic, but it seemed too overpowered.

Who would you buff/rework? And what would you change about them?

Didnt he have the slow vault thing back when he lunched but it was patched for reasons never stated? I love clown, i have all his unique outfits and love his perks but he feels so so weak

  • I compeleted all challenges and put a frankly absurd amount of playtime in between challenge releases and still had to buy the last 3 levels. Not buying this onenuntol I can see how far I get by the last week.

I also think most of the rewards are ass.

Half of them are colour variants for outfits I already bought that cost more than the entire pass INDIVIDUALLY which means im probably not gonna buy store cosmetics anymore.

also charms look good on survivor but tacky as hell on hooks. They should have customised the layout of them for ever individual killer hook design.

  • As a survivor ive always preffered longer games that have a proper back and forth

  • Mt first match was a rank 3 match where I git steamrolled by gens even with 2 hooks in the first 2 minutes. I got a 4k simply because a jake and nia threw the game by running into the basement while being chased by a tier 3 Micheal.

Safety pipped on a 4k losing 0 points for being near the hook.

  • @Pulsar said:

2 to 3 gens in a minute is not possible.

Great skill checks make and toolboxes make this more than possible on red eanks

  • Surround sound headphones.

    Stridor in red ranks.

dont rely too hard on breathing, listen for footsteps also

  • I dont get mad if a survivor gets a good head on stun, or god forbid, a save on me. hitbox is a little borked though

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

Billy is already balanced. His base kit does not need a cooldown.

I also highly doubt they change his base kit. It's only bad survivors who think it's not balanced.

bad survivors also thought ruin need a nerf and not a buff.

  • Honestly I think giving him Redheads finger baseline would be interesting. He can choose between area denial and denial of loops or play slightly riskier and become an instadown killer.

Also did they ever fix his gas no longer forcing slow vaults? Because I dont remember seeing that in a balance log. was just there one day

  • As a survivor that CAN hit great skill checks (because apparently thats rare here) I realise that this is going to make matches shorter which means more time searching for matches and less rank points points/bp

I guess if gens are easier that means I can dick about with different builds more like sabo and MoM

As a killer it makes me not want to play anyone but spirit in red ranks anymore.

  • I can only assume its players without headphones. Ive found two last survivors from grass noises on the other side of the shack or a few trees away and one hiding near the 2nd to last guy with a flashlight just from her breathing in the last few days.

It does seem like some killers noises like demo and doctor can drown them out compared Freddy or legion

  • From my point of view as a survivor pop is a pretty pathetic. Its only a threat if the killer is already on a steamroll or is freddy.

In 20 seconds of repairing you can get multiple great skillchecks including the base charges. And I often so on a popped gen.

  • Hes also using pop. Theres zero reason to break gens without it currently. And there'll be zero reasons to do it when your totem is cleansed 34 seconds into the game after the mid chapter patch too!

While youre kicking that gen, the survivor is getting closer to a pallet loop or god window and 3 other survivors, maybe 2 are still doing triple your regression in progression (still double with new ruin Hex perk lol).

And if they know how to hit great skill checks, God help you.

Even zubatlel, the probably undisputed master of this game agrees that kicking gens that you find a survivor on is not worth the chase time lost.

Another note is hes playing a killer with zero tr. Any survivor worth their salt would have heard his ambient noises or heard a tr from another killer and started to run. Which would have made that tactic even less viable long term.

    Are for serious???

Everyone can 4k 5 gens against 4 random new player who have just started the game.

Exaclty. Why the hell is this an issue all of a sudden. Last I saw dbd was hitting new player peak counts on the regular and they weren't screaming "WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE RANK 20 BABIES" back then.

  • The ability to actually hear over his ambient noises

  • OK but this doesnt change the fact that lower tier killers or prep time killers have been completely boned by this change. Sure, some bad/boosted killers would use it to camp and get against low rank survivors but this has completely destroyed any viability for killers like trapper, hag and leatherface

Also getting rid of the no gain on great skillchecks is ludicrous for red rank survivors

  • I hope they do. I played a pretty insane amount in rhe last rift inbetween level releases and completed every challenge and still had to buy the last 5 levels. And thats with only a reasonably busy part time job.

The master challenges are too difficult or luck based to only be worth a 3rd or half a level.

Well according to 'the king' console playerbase is bigger than PC one. Surprising because of how badly optimised this game is with it's frame drops and the lunge cancelling itself for no ######### reason.

Lunge cancelling what? I've been playing since the console paunch and have never experienced this. What is it?

Sounds like fun and definitely not something i see people run often. What are you going to change when the ruin changes go live?

Im pretty concerned about this change (I may have overreacted in other threads in the lst day) because I find most top tiers dull to play and it seems like mid/low tiers will be hit the hardest by this. But I'll probably stick enduring on for spirit fury or maybe bring bamboozle back. It can be a real lifesaver against a good survivor on the shack or the main building on certain maps.

As a whole this thread has made me want to branch out more often. Maybe dying light with stbfl to replace ruin.

  • l admit to being kind of weird with my myers gameplay even though hes my og boi.

My personal build as of late is ruin (if im in the red ranks, getting level 2 late can be devastaing), spirit fury, furtive and stbfl. After resets I tend to add enduring in place pf ruin just to become truly unstoppable.

I tend to save my ew3 exclusively for the obsession to conserve those sweet stacks but a good team can sometimes force me to drop it early. Used to use bamboozle until I found out about Miles naturally faster vaults even in level 2.

If you're not concerned about pallets im all ears is also a lot of fun with furtive. If you're running furtive and lnow how to hide your red stain at LOS breaking loops this combo is devastating.

Its not a flawess build but it can he quit fun.

  • Some good builds but Id throw out M and A for furtive chase after the TR change. A semi permanent 0 tr in tier two is pretty sweet

Good one. You have 176 Moris. That tells me all I need to know bud. Hang in there ;)

Bruh I never used them because they felt unbalanced and ruined the experience for players. But it ls clear my experience doesnt matter so fug it

  • I have over 150 on my all perks P3 myers. Guess I finally have a use for em

  • As someone who plays an even amount of both sides at red ranks I get no satisfaction from an easy win. Same when the survivors throw with no gens or dc.

Stop listening to new players. The people that dont want to learn to play are not the ones who will stick by your game

  • I hope you guys like billy, spirit and noed.

    thats all I can say

  • @Blueberry said:

They said Ruin would now be stronger in late game. Since when is Ruin still up in late game? If Ruin actually lasted that long you'd have been better off just running Devour Hope.

The entire point was that it was good for slowing down the early game.

Ruins totally gone from the meta now, no one's gonna run this.

Exaclty, who the hell still has ruin after the first few hooks, if that against a remotely competent team?

The regressive skillchecks were there to let you get some pressure with a hook or two, destroy a couple of pallets and get the ball going before 3 gens popped.

  • This is an atrocious nerf. Not only did they just hang, draw and quarter low and mid rank killers in high ranks. They act like double regression speed is worth giving a ######### about when thats still only 1 charge per TWO seconds compared to a charge per one second.

I usually try to see the positive in these changes but this is just trash.

Remove the hex totem reliance and it might be useable outside of babymode urban evasion rank 20

  • No stance changing will make him a lot strongger on loops. Even if he still had the slowdown the fact that you wont need to fiddle with that damn meter should be a big help

  • I think e main problem right now is that an m1 killer can take anywhere from 20 to over 60 seconds to catch a half decent survivor thanks to bad map design. And when a single gen with zero boosts or great skillchecks (rare af) takes 80 and you only need 5 to escape. Ruin is also pointless at low ranks as survivors cant just hit great skill checks easily

  • I dislike the way the challenges force me to use perks like noed or self care.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/116350/pc-skillchecks-are-so-easy

I got a new tv for my ps4 before the ps4 died. While my old tv had the latency between hitting the button and the skill check stopping. My new tv had no issues and it stopped when I pressed it.

So it's not really a issue it's either a bad hdmi cord or a bad TV for gaming.

it could be on the wrong tv setting. aMost newers tvs have a "game" mode that reduces input delay

  • Im a rank 1 console player and can consistently hit about 3/5 skillchecks as a great

Ive counted my great skillchecks and total time saved on gens from them before and had upwards of a full gen before. They shouldnt even affect gens imo, makes good survivors even stronger

I have no problem with timing or input lag but im two years in so maybe its just muscle memory

  • I have a couple of survivor challenges left but am anout 61. I also played A LOT inbetween chapter releases.

Master challenges should give a full level and not q measly 5 points

  • When I started it was a universal "killer is camping" but recently ive had hatemail from people mad that i didnt save while they waved and did gens so i dunno. maybe a youtuber/streamer is to blame for the change

  • I found charms kind of underwhelming but overall Im satisfied with it. Hopefully the challenges are less awful next time. I also feel underwhelmed by the story elements, especially trappers
