With a lot of these things, I think it's a wait and see type deal.

Who knows, regression could be buffable again if some of there's "anti 3-gen" measures put into the game that make it so that they wouldn't enable stalling the game forever.

Also I don't agree with you on trapper and hag, yes, they lock down part of the map, but they usually don't win just by regressing gens infinitely. They win through survivor mistakes in your web that result in multiple downs e.g. when trying to save. If it were about regressing gens forever, then yeah, that would be bad and needs to go imo.

Nobody wins just by regressing gens infinitely after regression nerf, good morning.

To build their web they need to find 3 gen, otherwise there is no sense in web because survivors have no objectives in there.

And i don't even want to wait for this "deal", because it's stupid idea from the start.

Let's help the survivors with the situation in which they put themselves in 90% of cases by their own mistake and has a counterplay due to the fact that we have no idea how to rework a single killer without changing his ability completely. (c) bhvr

In other words: I have a splinter in my finger, apparently, this is a reason to cut off my whole hand?

  • There shouldn't be killers who play optimally, I agree. I don't want to experience any difficulties and think about the danger because of the killer's tactical gameplay. Just chase me with no brain and eat every pallet so I can tbag you on the gates.

BHVR, can we already nerf the remaining people in the game who still know how to think and use his brain? They don't let me play the game in peace.

  • Maybe maps developers will start playing what they are doing? It seems to me that this is the best solution instead of band-aid that you are suggesting.

  • @MiniDinkster said:

I happen to play with a lot of lower tier killers (because many of the strong ones are abhorrently boring to play imo) and usually play in a way that I would want a killer to play. Game after game for the past few days has felt so awful. But as of late, it feels like no matter what killer I play, no matter what style of play I do, it doesn't matter. I've been averaging less than 1 kill a game within the last week. I usually don't camp, tunnel, NOED, use strong addons, or "hit and run" style builds. Every time I get the first down, there's already 3+ generators complete, and I feel like I can't keep up in the slightest.

I have a lot of gametime under my belt but every situation just fails and I end up either giving up or just disconnecting because the survivors outplayed me tenfold, and I did everything I could.

I'm afraid to even touch some killers now because their MMR has been raised to the point where I can't play them without having my ######### pushed in.

What the hell do I do?

I never expect to win on low tier killers. Just play them for fun chases. Of course i can hard tunnel from the start and expect 2k vs good players, but i'm bored from it and have no fun.

But yeah survivors most often do not appreciate "fair" play and take it as your weakness, tbag on the gates even if you played as "fair" as possible. After such matches, I go to the next match and play as dirty as possible with people who probably didn't deserve it.

Invest your time in high tier killers more, that's my advice.

  • Hope this helps: you can throw pallets and jump into windows even while injured. If that's not enough for you to outrun m1 killer without chase power, then it's definately not a Legion problem. He is one of the weakest killers still.

  • @Xernoton said:

The problem with Blight is his versatility. He has EVERYTHING. A chase power, mobility, the ability to correct mistakes, low cooldowns, an ability to quickly get rid of pallets, crazy good synergy with popular perks and strong addons. What more could a killer wish for?

Even if you can't hit the survivor using your rushes you are still a 115% movement speed killer. This means you can still play M1 killer and mind game or chase normally when all else fails. Obviously, this is not going to be enough against top tier survivors but you shouldn't win against them, if you're not a top tier killer yourself.

And where is the problem? Only problem with this is that only two killer have it all – Blight and Wesker. Although there should be every killer. Hmmm and who do we see in the survivor matches every game? Blight and Wesker? What a coincidence! Do people want to play the killers who are able to fight back the survivors before they eat every pallet on the map in 5-minute game, in between traveling a minute from one end of the map to the other? Of course without camping and tunneling? What a surprise! How dare they!

Also never understood complain "all his addons are good". This is such a rarity in the bhvr's hands that I can use almost any addon in the killer's arsenal and it won't be useless or not worth it. Yes, he certainly has 3 addons that need nerf, but conceptually they should strive to ensure that all killer addons are good.

Most killers here would say a 20 second gen is a unwinnable situation

    Yet like you said.

2k on Leon, 6k on Claud, 8k on Yui

The 20 second gen didn't matter in the slightest. You can snowball out of control at any time

Yeah, PERFECT example of snowballing in match where first persone kill himself on first hook (even with 20 sec gen done), and other two insta give up. Really great match analyze 👍️

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Perfect example of the first gens don't matter

    >2k on Leon, 6k on Claud, 8k on Yui

    >P E R F E C T example

  • Skill issue, your chases are slow. (jk)

Btw, perfect example of how useless corrupt could be.

  • Lol. It's time to buff this addon, if u r asking.

  • Bamboozle is a band-aid on a terrible map design. On some maps even bamboozle doesn't allow to counter some braindead RNG, window in front of window nearby window. So yeah, you can just say "I want to abuse all broken things on maps, but this perk prevents me." instead of "It doesn’t feel like it promotes healthy interaction".

Suggestion for a rework of the map offering system to make it more balanced between survivor and killer roles.

Currently each offering is effectively 100% realm selection, given the 1 vs 4 nature of the game, SWFs, killer power balance, and the lack of general map balance provides a significant advantage when a map offering is in place, a general survivor advantage (4 potential offerings vs 1 max) and very heavily SWF sided (builds specific to the map chosen among communicating players).

My suggested rework would be as follows:

Survivor map offerings each provide a 10% ( x 1.10) bonus in selecting that realm (max 40% or x 1.40)

Killer map offerings provide 20% bonus ( x 1.20) in realm selection (effectively negates 2 survivor offerings or negates 1 with 10% bonus to realm selection)

Sacrificial ward - provides a 0.1% bonus to map selection ( x 0.001) generally negating all other map offerings.

These numbers are just examples, there needs to be a balance between fairness and feel good and I think that is achievable with some rework like this.

Yeah, it 100% should work this way.

Killer and solo surv - 50% chance increase

    Duo - 25%

    Swf - 10%

  • Btw i enjoy solo survivors now. There was and there is still only 1 big problem with solo – stupid players aka MMR. One match you could play with hardcore survivors and run out with two hooks on team and another match you could play with baby survivors who sit in the looker whole game. I still don't know how it works.

  • If u played killers for chases – yes. DH is still there and only became stronger, bc no one wait for it now. But it is significantly less in matches, completely absent in the first chases, which is way more pleasant and fair.

If u played killers to win - no. Maybe only for some strongest killers. Genrush is unstoppable now, even with extremely fast chases. Seems like even 300 hours survivors know where is key to win now – m1 button. Healing "nerf" didn't change anything, survivors replace dh with 1 healing perk and it only became stronger. Which proves how boosted healing has been and remains. Also there is BNP and syringe almost every game. But if u r okay with hard tunnel and camp every game to win against good survivors, u can try it. I'm bored af from it, try to play for chases more.

True that exit gates need discussion. Both exit gates should always be watchable at the same time by the killer. If I manage to close Hatch, which gaves a massive chance for the survivor to escape in a situation where they should have already lost, I should not have to worry about another situation where the survivor is practically guaranteed to escape. If both exit gates are far, all the survivor has to do is hide until the killer comes and leaves then open the exit gate and it's a guaranteed escape.

Big facts. Please devs give me guaranteed escape, when my team lost a match and i didn't get luck with a hatch. What a nonsense, lol.

  • Yeah, you're definitely not competing against the other side. Dbd is a farm simulator. You're right.

DBD isn't tournament game? Yeah, that's true. Anyway, you can call it whatever you want, it doesn't change the essence.

If a player DC's CONSISTENTLY, maybe they should be placed in their very own DC lobbies for a set amount of time. The game can issue a warning that they on the verge of going into the quitters lobbies and most likely they will stop.

Now, I did say consistently. I know sometimes the game boots u out all of the sudden or your internet just flat out fails. So perhaps after a certain amount in a day, week or whatever.

Any suggestions to add to this or modify my thoughts are welcome to interject. Thank you for your time.

Or you can just make a normal punishment for each dc, as in all competitive games. 30 minutes + 30 minutes for each next one.

Especially now, when they want to add bots instead of real players who left the match, literally giving them carte blanche to leave any game for any reason with current penalty

Do you want to ruin the match for 4 other players? Please sit in the lobby for half an hour and think about whether you want to do this next time.

PS. YOUR bad connection also is YOUR problem, if you are going to play ONLINE game, if someone gonna hit me with "but my internet......"

I wouldn't say killers got nothing in return, survivor self healing got hurt pretty bad. Game is definitely rough right now though.

    1. self healing exists only with medkits for almost 5 years
    2. buff self healing by one extremely broken unlimited perk
    3. nerf this perk

OH NO WHAT SOULD WE DO OUR UNLIMITED BROKEN PERK IS NERFED AND GAME IS UNPLAYABLE NOW!11!!1111!((((9(((99 THESE PEOPLE WHO PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE THIS PERK FOR 5 YEARS MUST BE SUPERHUMANS!!11!!1!1

Yeah, I've read this a thousand times already. Lame. Self healing should always be a very limited resource in a team game.

Hundred healing perks exist, but who cares until it's not a second chance perk.

    Not true at all.

Solo survivor is going to boon area and hoping one of the his teammates sees them. And then come them for heal.

SWF survivors are in comms and they are deciding to go boon area, they are starting run together. And healing. Done.

It's not the perk problem that your teammates don't use it correctly. I have already had some solo matches with good players, where this perk decided the outcome of match as it was before his "nerf".

  • And yes, if you are not going to do anything with the size of maps, then there should be 5 scourge hooks by default and +1 for every additional scourge hook perk. Current Pain Res is disgusting awful because of rng.

    1. Map design. I made sure that the developers responsible for the maps design were not playing their game when they released garden of pain. Then I was convinced even more when they released borgo.
    2. Matchmaking. It's a joke that 300hr and 4000hr players may end up in the same lobby.
    3. Community. It is too spoiled by the broken state of the game before, so it takes any good changes with hostility. It also doesn't want to get better at the game, it wants developers to lower the required skill level to them. It takes time and patience to change this.
    4. Lack of developers' time to make the necessary number of balance edits. At least half of killers require a overhaul of their addons. They are also very attached to statistics, which very rarely reflect the real state of affairs in an asymmetric game.
  • Win the match and run out with the team? – Nah, not for me

OK, maybe try your luck and try the hatch? – No, definitely not enough, need something else

Then what do you want? – I want to have a third GUARANTEED chance to escape from the match

What's next? Complains about killer not standing still?

  • Imagine playing a game for 6 years and not seeing how OBJECTIVELY healthier and better it is getting from year to year. I have a lot of complaints about this game, but I clearly see that it is only getting better on both sides.

Let's just be honest, with "unplayable" and "the game it once was" you mean "I want all the unbalanced things that made this game fun"

I won't lie, I'm glad that such players are leaving. You are a generation of players (in this playerbase) who are too spoiled by all the advantages of the game as it was years ago. Players who enjoy healthy gameplay will come instead, it's ok.

  • @Dreadnight said:

I dont understand. Why Sloppy Butcher is strong (-20% healing speed), but Botany Knowledge (+50% healing speed) its ok?

Sloppy its a killer perk with healthy numbers. Survivors have perks to counter it too (And stronger).

Why survivors want to play with 4 chase perks and second chances, but don't want to use slots for information or healing speed when the killer does?

Just about to write the same thing before I saw your comment. The hypocrisy of some people here is astounding.

I run botany in half of my survivor games and don't notice the existence of sloppy at all. Some people just need a new reason to worry about. If sloppy gets nerfed, they'll find something new.

Spirit is fine as a 110, and so would be Blight if he was also a 110. They're power dependent to chase, so they need to use it if they're a 115. Trust if Spirit was 115 not even 30% of her players would use it as much as they do because they need it due to her 110 speed.

PH and Artist have MUCH more universal powers for chase, which can be used in literally every loop and tile. Their abilities also have fewer ways to resist them (of course, if it's a good player). And they are absolutely fine with 4.6.

Blight has a less universal ability that can not be used everywhere. It is more useful when moving between tiles. So no, Blight definitely shouldn't be 4.4. Keep practicing and Blight will be one of the funniest killers to go against. I really love to play as and against him, that's why i know that Blight is balanced as 4.6 killer.

Bro you can't have a 4.5 nurse lmao, I'm a nurse main for the record. She would be oppressive as hell, hell people ######### when i run the addon that makes her 4.5 after a M2. Huntress and trickster both would be sick as well. Maybe if blood rush wasn't a thing but with blood rush it'd be crazy. Blight def should be at least 4.4 if not on nurses speed.

I think everyone understood perfectly well that it was not about a Nurse and she is not included in this list. She is the strongest killer with 3.8 ms already.

  • Spirit is only killer who should be 4.4 imo. She can use her power anywhere and the only counterplay to it is 50/50. Besides her, all other killers must be at least 4.5. All the other 4.4 killers are monstrously annoying to play as.

Blight 100% should NOT be 4.4. His ability has a lot of counterplays and he can't use it wherever he wants.

  • He definately needs faster recharge and extra bottle or even two

  • Streamer: wins 1000 matches in a row on Blight with 4 slowdowns and principal hard tunneling on 5 gens with good add-ons (+ keep in mind that 90% of his streak was with old Eruption)

Community: OMG BLIGHT OP U SEE IT????? NO WAY IT IS POSSIBLE GAME IS SO KILLER SIDED((((((99(((99(

No one really thinks that with hard tunneling on 5 generators with 4 slowdowns, any good killer will win, perhaps, 980 games out of 1000 even with Trapper?

And it's not about how tunneling is OP, it's about how 80% of the players are absolutely terrible at this game. That's exactly what he said on Twitter btw.

    image.png

  • Completely agree. For 3 years that I have been in the game, I can say for the first time that the killer needs to be completely reworked, and not just adjusted. She is completely garbage in everything besides camping gens with her power. Her last update didn't make literally anything overall. The only killer I don't want to play for even from time to time.

  • Yeah, eruption was fun before rework. Memento without hooking was SUPER fun. First version of Legion was fun. Insta saw Billy was giga fun. Iri Head Huntress with 5 hatches was probably most fun build in the game. I'm sure u will be super glad to see all this things in the game again bc it was REALLY FUN.

To be fair, it's such a cringe to see people try to mix up balance changes with their own "fun". I want to have fun in a game where fun brings me my good gameplay, not broken perks, mechanics and addons.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

It’s still early to have a concrete opinion but so far my thoughts are

    • QOL changes to BW are fantastic.

    • Gen speeds seem considerably faster. I’m able to keep up nicely on blight, but m1 killers are going to get murdered by any semi decent team.

    • Healing changes seem nonexistent, I noticed nothing different.

    • it’s been nice getting to openly swing in 1st chases without having to worry about DH, but I still saw a decent amount of the perk yesterday. I predict the same thing will happen from last nerf; the usage will fall for a bit but will return.

    I agree with every word.

The saddest part is that I feel that I have to tunnel a lot more on weak killers, because there is nothing left to hold genrush.

Weak players, obviously, give up every game without even trying to play (I would like to give them a ban for a month), and good survivor players, as I feel so far, feel only better with this patch. Or at least the same as before.

    CoH still broken af

My survivor games are almost the same as they were, there is more need for coordination to be healed, which is good, but I'm not one of those survivors who is afraid to run injured, so I don't suffer much from it.

But it's hard to judge yet, because every game some clown from my lobby comes into the game to give up in the first chase. BHVR needs to start punishing suicide on the hook MUCH more. Same with dc.

  • One flashlight stronger than whole killer power. That's what makes zero sense.

Dude, everything you said there is bad balance.

    "Busted perks" are bad balance.

Busted items and addons are bad balance.

Bad map design is bad balance.

Bad balance is bad balance... what are you complaining about when you are agreeing with me, exactly?

And the game is so no unbalanced in a competitive environment that they have to make special rules for survivors so they don't destroy the killers.

And with the next patch? Even more bad balance. It is right now and the seer amount of gen rushing builds with WoO and dropping pallets because survivors have realized that killers can't do anything about gen progression is incredible, just imagine when they finally nerfed PR, CoB and OC. I have never seen so many PTs, toolboxes and BNPs in all the time I have being playing this game that I saw this last week, and they don't even mind game anymore as they know that by just pressing W and going from pallet to pallet gens would be completed in 4 minutes average and they would be tbagging in the exit gates before running out of pallets.

And if you injure them, they just have to go to a gen being done to be healed in seconds as they not only leaved the altruistic heal as it is now, they buffed it. Nerfing the self healing alone would accomplish nothing, but because some streamer said the contrary then everybody was crying about altruistic healing.

When the next patch goes lives, most killers are done, and you are thanking the developers for it because they reverted the nerf to a killer with a 2.18% pickrate. Yeah, good job BHVR! Do you screw the balance even more, but at least Billy's addons are as nerfed as it was before.

Thankfully, we can hope that this is probably the last year that BHVR listen to the cries and start doing real balancing to the game, as now they would have competition and I'm the first in line to give it a try the moment it releases, seeing how BHVR has done things in the last 3 patches.

Completely agree. After the PTB I eventually realized that the game will never be balanced, because more than half of the player base are survivor crybabies who just awful at the game and they don't want to became better at the game. Talking about balance with them is as useless as talking about philosophy with a newborn. These players were crying that three of them escaping into the hatch with one gen left is a balanced thing, and now they are crying that it is balanced to have 3 health stages every chase (it's just FUN perk, you know) and always have a free opportunity to be quick healed.

They want perks win game for them while they hold one button whole game. While there are most of them, devs literally have their hands tied.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

lol at someone making what's kind of a "can you imagine if survivors really...?" post and survivor mains jump in to go "actually yeah, we're gonna get that nerfed next! :)"

Bro, this is just an absurd theater. I read this topic, which created by me, like a joke that went too far.

You can create a humorous topic "Let's nerf Unrelenting" and be sure to find survivors in it after a day, who will find several "reasons" why it really needs to be nerfed.

  • @Caiman said:

Don't worry, after they nerf Deadlock to last only 10 seconds, they'll buff Deerstalker by extending its range by 2 meters.

Yeah, can't wait they buff Unrelenting to 35% to compensate all this nerfs.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

NGL Deadlock is peak braindead gameplay.

Literally no interaction or input from the Killer whatsoever for maximum effectiveness, and I've been of the same opinion since its release.

Needs to have some kind of interaction, EG: When the Obsession is Hooked, the Generator with the most progress is blocked by the Entity for x/y/z.

Yes, I was happy to play with perks I could earn by making hooks. Thanks to devs that they are all complete garbage now. I'm also in love with Dying Light perk's design, except the part with obsession that makes this perk a survivor's perk.

"Braindead", lol, do you want to talk about how many braindead perks survivors have that make/made whole game mechanics free? If you played for killers, you would know that this park is chosen for one reason: not to hear that the gens pop one by one, especially in your first chase. I'm not even going to tell you how many counterplays this perk has, that sometimes make this perk useless.

  • @HugTechLover said:

Lately survivors have been just giving up at a much higher rate lately. Anybody else experiencing this?

I’d say 65ish percent of the time, the first person I hook just drops themselves, causing a domino effect of quitters.

I even changed killers from blight to see if that was the issue; and nope, survivors still giving up and quitting. I’ve started slugging anybody who tries to give up early on as a way to discourage it. Why even Que up if you’re just going to quit on your team?

Props to the survivors that put up a fight regardless of the situation.

Yes, same, and then they come to forum with a serious face and write "HAVE YOU SEEN KILLERS WIN RATE?!!!1!!!1!" Yes, of course, it will be like this if in every second match some players give up in an early game.

  • Imagine community on both sides does not complain about useful (def not op) perks every second.

Also add the fact that solo survivors may stand in the aura for who knows how long waiting for help that might never come (we've all had those games where no one wants to heal you). So that's a survivor injured and off a gen for an extended period of time.

Stop using "solo" as a synonym for "silly". If the player is inexperienced/silly/useless, this is not a solo problem. This is his personal problem.

    @Nazzzak said:

I mean, they did. In the 6.1 update. That update occurred because of ongoing complaints from killers about a lack of perk variety among the survivors they face. They were correct of course - most survivors usually a ran a combo of DH, DS, UB, IW, etc. So the devs nerfed a bunch of them, and it worked - ive seen much more variety among survivor builds since.

They changed things up on the killer side too but that was clearly for the better, as that's where the pretty successful gen regression meta came from. Most killers I faced started running it because they had better results. So we went from no variety on survivor builds to no variety on killer builds. And BHVR is obviously trying to do away with these meta builds. I don't think anyone could deny that had they not reverted some of these healing nerfs, that a new meta would have emerged on both sides (anti-healing builds from killers and healing and/or gen builds for survivors) thus going against everything BHVR have been trying to do with these overhauls in the first place.

"No variety on survivors"? Bro, u must be kidding. I wish i have 10 build slots to quick change all my builds. 4 boons, chase build, cleanse totems build, lockers build, super speed healing build, genrush build, altruism build, stealth build, second chances build, midchase disappear build, anti-camping build, sabotage build. Do i need to continue? Big truth is most survivors only want to run 4 second chances and can't be good at the game without it, since only survive with it.

Variety on survivors is a hundred times bigger than on killers.

  • @Hannacia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3393667#Comment_3393667

My question here is.. why do survivor perks need something worth to be running for? Theme with killers have been to destroy their perks so they won't be used anymore. So why can't they do the same for survivors? This new CoH is almost as broken as the old one. I can see it becoming an issue again. They were too scared to go through with the DH nerf so they ..balanced it. Making it so we will again see 8 DH in 1 match.

So answer why can't they give the survivor perks that are clearly overused and overperfoming the same treatment they have given killers?

Point to these metashake ups is to make killers and survivors use different perks, but obviously it only affects killers since survivors will just continue using the same perks as they do now.

Yeah, that's the point of my post. Devs just killer sided, you know
