Won't do this because it's literally impossible to defend against 2-3 survivors, unless using bubba.
The exception is when there is only two of them.
-
Oh yeah this shouldn't happen, this is why basekit mori should be added so killers can't waste time on already lost match.
Basekit unbreakable isn't needed because that is just straight up unnecessary buff, when killer finds both survivors and downed them, he should deserve a 4k.
Also this can indirectly help with literal "can't hook because no hook nearby" situation too, finisher mori is a best QoL change we can have.
-
This is about the time to release statistics just to see how game has changed with lot of the updates, I guess.
Even though I believe everything killer got in old stats has been practically negated by countless nerfs and buffs, we don't really have any meaningful data to back it up now.

Then i dont agree with you. Since the problem doesnt come up very often, while it might still be a problem, its clearly not the reason for the point in question.
even BHVR has stated something like half the playerbase are SWF, so problem is very well common enough.

Simply allow the bleed out option to grant the killer the equivalent of a 4k??? You and old mate Not_Requested49 are clearly missing the point. It's beyond me why you both even commented tbh.
Huh? I'm just stating you shouldn't have the rights to deny the well deserved four sacrifice of killers "just because".
If everyone is downed he should have that, really.
And if everyone is not downed what you want is literally just a free DC which already exists in the game and harming the game a lot, we don't need such things.

To answer the question: I think that's what they were trying to do with the basekit unbreakable update, but there were so many complaints on both sides that it never made it to live servers, I think basekit UB is a nice idea but the PTB times were too fast for snowball like killers (Hag, Meyers, Twins etc.) to keep up with it. If they increased the time it takes to pick yourself up to like 60 seconds, (40 with the stacking UB, Expo, NM) but decrease the time for altruistic healing (similar to medkits) I think Basekit UB would do amazing. You'd get to use it Twice per match at basekit and 3 times at most.
Also in response to the above comment, Starstruck doesn't work on Nurse since her update 2 or so patches ago. Blinks are no longer basic attacks, so yes if 4 people are downed because of starstruck nurse there were some serious misplays made by the team/solo q players.
Basekit UB was literally a mistake no one ever want and shouldn't want, finisher mori didn't allowed killers to "snowball" or anything because when that activates everyone was already lost on live server, adding that with conjunction of finisher mori did not made sense at all.
Just add finisher mori so killers can't waste time when game is over, that is good enough, no need to give unnecessary free buffs to survivors.
-
At current state of dbd you really don't have much things to use at all, slowdown is gone, maybe take rancor so you can add +1 kill to each game I guess?
-

Disagree, carnifex break speed at pallets is only kept remotely balanced by the fact that you can't be right next to the pallet when he does it.
But it doesn't stop knight from quickly break the pallets and hits you anyway, this is literally just a QoL change because whether it exists or not knights can DO that.
Not to mention he really isn't that good of a killer anyway.
-
In the darkness you are NOT meant to see things, for real.
Just memorize better, there IS counter, hell, there is basically NO actual penalty for survivors as long as they are competent enough.

Respectfully, to you, what difference does it make if players DC when being left to bleed out, or if they bleed out?
I'd much rather move to the next than wait 5 minutes for bleed out. I'm not talking the killer having one person slugged, and allowing that person to give up. I'm talking the killer has all 4 survivors slugged and refuses to pick anyone up, leaving all players to do nothing for 5 minutes.
Then "just bleed out me" button is not a right suggestion because that punishes those who deserves 4k, finisher mori is exactly what you would want.
What you've suggested just punishes killers in lot of arbitrary situations, just bad change.
-
Or alternatively outright just allow them to utilize short message chat, with pre determined words.
Basically do same thing but more versatile.
-
If myers decided to use tombstone with tuft instead of pieces, "just don't get seen" will literally be the counter as it can easily take more time to reach that state than finishing generators.
For the alchmist ring I don't care much about it but everyone says it's OP anyway, not really a combination problem.
So I suppose this problem doesn't really exists, I don't think change is needed.
-
Every killers are meant to get you, it's the matter of time.
And, nurse really isn't that much faster than anything else in that term, especially on usual players.

A 3% haste bonus is hard countered by bloodlust 1 (5% base kit for every killer, stacks up to 15%) as well as nearly every single killer power in the game.
So basically you are saying killer MUST use bloodlust in order to counter single, easily activatable basically permanently working perk.
You've just said why this perk will be problematic, not the reason of why this perk is fine or anything.

The difference is much bigger than you think. Tormented survivor can be caged instantly and this can't be denied by survivors as they can't blind killer like during pick-up animation, can't sabotage a hook while killer is carrying survivor and allows killer completely negate whatever defensive perks survivor had that would make hooking harder.
Everything you've said pretty much doesn't work against any competent killer, as pretty much all of those are easily counterable.
So yeah not a big deal I suppose.
-
He is nowhere near overperforming at all lol
There was pretty much no situation people brought flashlight just to seriously counter the wraith.
-
It's ridiculous how people defend permanent semi-bloodlust for survivors, this perk is plain bad design and should be scrapped altogether.
BHVR really shouldn't mess with survivor haste from the start.

still can't hop off the hook during end game even if the killer camping so noed, grabs, and save the best plays will still be a thing. Camping will drop significantly but that just mean tunneling will increase more and more.
Or "slug camping", if killers were nastiest of all.
even though it is hard to believe, it DOES exist.

This change isn't even necessary because it promotes three gen situations for all killers. Skull Merchant is just the one that would benefit the most. Don't talk to me about a bad argument when your sentence doesn't even make sense lmao. Gen regression perks are overhated now and I still get tons of value from them.
Any gen regression more or less promotes three gen situations for all killers no matter what though, that argument should've been said when they first released it.
Doesn't even matter whether it's a perk or base mechanics or whatsoever.
-
Huh? this game has always been "tunnel good or lose" game, literally that.
What kind of killers gonna use other strategy? those who want to play walking simulator?
-
@mikewelk said:
Although that would be nice, you have to remember Skull Merchant is still in the game and that would not help with the three gen situations at all.
"Because one broken killer" is worst argument ever tbh, I can even believe if someone said BHVR brought that objectively badly designed and broken killer just to nerf regression perk.

It is if you tunnel at 5 gens and hit the survivor thousand times at the hook. Teabag survivor If they are down.
No hardcore tunnelers hits survivor thousand times at the hook, that's literally waste of time, resource, and makes a window to save the one who is hooked.
There is nothing wrong in tunneling at 5 gen, actually that's the best time to tunnel/camp, kinda like how BNP is best used at last gen.
Most killers don't really have a way to "teabag" survivor too.
-
I mean, I can't even believe you actually managed to play DbD for 5 years daily, to be honest.
-
I mean ultimately BHVR should just do hard counter to it, from fundamental game design.
not just "basekit endurance" but literal invincibility or random respawn or something like that.
-
@durag_demon1 said:
Idk why killers think they need to be compensated for everything.. survivors get nerfed all the time with no compensation
They've even got compensation for healing nerf, I don't get what you are talking about.

Anything that reduces kill rate is good, you don't need to ask for buff because statistics will tell them (unless BHVR suddenly thinks 40% is what kill rates should be)
-

I am just wondering if survivors will ever be given the option to trade a hook state for a health state if being slugged? For example if the survivor is slugged then after a set amount of time they can gain a hook state and then get themselves off the ground... If on Death hook they could sacrifice themselves to the entity?
Let's be real, the fact people can throw the game and ruin everyone else for free is already wrong, we don't need yet another free DC for survivors.
-
I'm sorry but kindred is not just "whether killer is camping or not", at all.
FULL kindred basekit shouldn't be a thing, that's literal free wallhack for survivors.

"Now"? pallet amount has been complained 24/7, this is a long standing map design problem we have.
There is countless atrocious maps, and they bring more and more of it.

to not waste peoples time for ego. If you're slugging to cheese hatch you already won, only a clown would consider hatch a win
Yeah we certainly shouldn't waste everyone's time for survivor's ego, there is no reason to have hatches when all it does is wasting everyone's time and giving arbitrary unearned reward which means nothing to a survivor.
Just remove hatches and replace it with "last survivor gets immediately sacrificed unless generator is powered" or something, problem solved.
Oh could give some BP rewards or even a pip too by giving them "last survivor" bonus or something, so we don't have any difference than just leaving hatches.
@Technature said:
No, no I agree with OP on this.
If you're slugging people so that you can guarantee a 4k, you're an awful person and you're no better than the people that teabag at the gate for the two minute duration. At least without good reason.
Some may say "Well there is no such thing as a good reason", but if there's two people left then the second person should be hiding as soon as the killer is able to go after them, which can potentially be "Immediately after my friend is downed". If the killer sees you after they down someone, it's perfectly reasonable for them to go after you. If you're waiting nearby with a flashlight save, that's on you. If you're waiting nearby to sabotage, that's on you. If you're waiting nearby to teabag the survivor that's about to die, that's not only on you but you also kinda deserve it.
But if you're on the other side of the map and the killer slugs the survivor to look for you anyways, they absolutely SHOULD be able to let themselves die faster. It's unfair to them that they have to be stuck in one of the most boring things in the game because of a players fragile ego, and it's unfair to the last survivor to have to dodge the killer for up to four minutes for the same reason.
It should be implemented in a way that it can't be used whenever because people will kill themselves at the drop of a hat. Maybe only available if everyone else is downed or already 2nd stage hooked OR if there's only two people left.
Yeah it's unbelievable we have a mechanics that cater towards all the survivor's fragile ego, loss is a loss and should be a loss, there is not a single reason to give them meaningless "escaped" label and skew the statistics.
-
There is no reason to have countermeasure though?
I do get it if you want to just quickly ends the match because at that point survivors are guaranteed to lose, but trying to give free rights of hatch without hiding/chasing effort doesn't makes sense.
Shouldn't you just... uh, adds a button to sacrifice EVERYONE instead? so killers won't magically lose a chance for 4k due to arbitrary balance change.
-
If anything else is buffed, it just makes gens fly even more by wasting killer time efficiently.
It's quite different from tunneling/camping problem as killers don't get removed early on, like, if keeping everyone alive will somehow win the game faster, killers would do that instead of camping/tunneling, and it will STILL fix the problem because all survivors get to play the entire game.
But ultimately survivor's win is just generators and nothing else, thus anything that doesn't contribute to it is literally just waste of time, if a thing doesn't make gens faster people won't try doing that.
So, unless you are meant to actually "NERF" survivors, like by forcing secondary objective, there is no way to reduce gen rushing by adding something.
-
Dead hard really deserven't consistency, at all.

Uhh... when survivors can no longer hide anywhere from killers itll be obvious. And why wouldn't every killer in the game use it? They'd be intentionally handicapping themselves if they didn't.
Lol, do you seriously believe increasing FoV magically finds the survivor or something? this is quite baffling.
@Archael said:
If it was really that big a deal then shadowborn would be meta.
Fov is not gamebraking, Fov is helping, but gen regression, healing regression or some debuffs are helping more. Tho with certain killers, like Nurse - shadowborn is extremally helpful, allow for much more mistakes for being not punished. Idk why people dont use it if they dont, this perk is a gem for her and blight.
And for an argument about "accesibility comes before mechanics": Why Borderlands games have no way to change their graphics to some regular ones? I litterally cannot play the game because of its graphics, and its not a game mechanic that would be changed, only visuals, so surely it should be an accesibility to not lock whole game from certain players? Shouldnt it? If in dbd fov is restrictive to some players but only in centrain ways - like not being able to play certain killers or killers general, then its even less of a problem than when someone cannot play the whole game. Especially if making this more accesible would change mechanics in any way?
I sincerely don't get why you are ranting about borderlands in the forum of DbD.

Gens dont have feeling, survivors do.
But killers do have the feeling too, and they will feel little sad when a generator is done, much more when last gen is done.
Even though it feels weird to say "tunneling gen" ultimately I don't see any difference between two there, like, survivors hates tunneling because they want to play a match longer, killers hates gens done because they want to play a match longer, what's the difference really.
-
Actually what's wrong with the game is the fact people can be killed mid game itself, but somehow people (and even BHVR) believes problem is on tunneling and camping.
It's always a fundamental issue, but since no one can actually fix that problem without making new game, we pretend to be ignorant and try to go easier way which doesn't really fix problem.

It's really not survivors who care. We want to win too. Its not survivors who refuse to hook the 3rd survivor refusing hatch escapes. You are being extremely disingenuous. A 3k as a win doesn't mean the 4th survivor should just die.
Hatch escape isn't even a win, not even tie, still a loss for survivor.
There is no point in doing it beside just feeling better, which you really shouldn't because you failed to save everyone else.
It's existence didn't made sense when they decided to introduce MMR, grade, or even a merciless emblem.
-
Actually we needs to do opposite, start with removal of hook suicide.
-
Not sure if people even need BNP to achieve this, prove thyself can already reduce gen time to 28 seconds by working with four.
-
But BHVRs are the one who made bubba, rancor, tombstone myers, all that toxic selfish perks, a perk that discourage people to go unhooker, all such.
BHVR even have a mechanics that encourage survivors to intentionally kill their teammates (which is hatch).
Honestly, even though players are the problem, ultimately BHVR is what made it.

While i understand the logic behind balancing towards 60%, you have to understand that:
1) these stats are almost a year old, oldenough that do not show the current level of nurse anymore.
2) the main problem related to nurse and these stats was that a single DC completely removes a game from the count. Nurse games are plagued with DCs left and right, people who DC after hearing the first blink, people who dc after a fast first down, dc after seeing she is tunneling. All this games are not registered in the final stats as you only see games which the 4 survivors played to the end.
Considering the fact both nurse and the perks has been nerfed, she might have less than 50% kill rates even LOL
-
Idk, considering the fact most "meta" consists of something that tend to be a tools to deal with elite/veteran survivors, I doubt it.
