The complain is not directed at the survivors. It's about how easy it is to do it and how stupidly impossible it is for a killer to handle gens done in parallel optimally.
Some will compare this to tunneling, but at least in tunneling some interactions are happening.
-
I went against two nurses this morning. The addons weren't much help once I broke line of sight. (0k and 1k). The one from yesterday didn't do much better (1k) but she was on cooldown addons.
If the nurse doesn't know where you are, no range will help her. Besides, if she guesses wrong she'll get punished hard.
If I'm playing Nurse and I get stunned by a survivor (DS, pallet), range addons aren't really helping. A simple blink is usually enough if I know where he is. If he managed to escape tracking, range addons will not help one bit.
Also, if the Nurse is using a range addon to blink to you, you can hear (and see) her focusing her power. You can change direction while she is about to blink (but you need to be good enough to know the blink distance she has charged) and then when she corrects and releases you change again : she will be royally F* and will have to try again (after eating yet another down time)
Range addons are more useful to traverse the map and maybe do a grab someone from outside the 32m range (hard to do).

Yet, this is pretty common here and in the game chat. (e.g. NOED)

Now that you mention it, I've not seen them for months.
Hag is bugged though. The two bug reports, with video proof taken from the channel of the best Hag out there, haven't even been acknowledged yet.
I don't know for doctor.

It's been a fun ride, but I think DBD reached its peak and that was in 2021. DBD has lost about 45% of its overall playerbase in the last 7 months. The game is dying slowly but surely and people are quitting and just moving on.
source: https://steamcharts.com/app/381210
BHVR knows this and I have a hard time believing they will do anything to improve it (they have proven time and time again that they don't listen to their playerbase the majority of the time, the changes they make end up making things worse, and they constantly seem to take one step forward, two steps backward in most things). I'm not sure how much longer I will be playing DBD as SBMM has ultimately ruined most of the enjoyment I had left in this game.
They've listened for the request about a second objective for the survivors.
We got the boons. 😒

If you are good at bubba, Paired with Deadlock , you should be able to get a 2k.
I know a build using Deadlock that's just evil and should almost guarantee a 3k or a 4k against most teams.
I don't plan to use that though. I'd rather do a "basic" Bubba play where survivors stand a chance. (Still playing like an ass)

This is an offtopic but if I dont say it I will literally explode.
Somewhat it is but also all the information and knowledge gets flooded between a ton of disinformation, absurdity, superfast-to-consume media and the glorification of basic literacy.
How many fake videos does Youtube have about "lifehacks" that are false?, how many false "did you know this piece of trivia?" articles out there?, internet has an insane amount of information but its not curated in any way and lies spread rampart, you can literally write wathever absurdity you want like dinosaurs coexisting with humans and if someone famous believes it and spreads the article people will eventually take it for the truth.
Indeed. We have access to a lot of information but the tendency is to make ever shorter inane easily digestible content that even a moron will watch. Accuracy isn't part of the requirements.
It's good for the "elites" as a smart population cannot be so easily controlled.

I have taken higher education, they didnt teach us Roman Numerals there either. Complicated Functions are relevant to my job.
Roman Numerals I assume would be some basic school stuff, which serves no relevance in modern society so It ought to go.
As well as being fancy in Videogames.
The Math you learn in Basic Schools is relevant as well as preparing for higher education.
Roman numerals are just some trivia one picks up because they can be found on buildings, in books, ...
At best, it's taught in an history class in high school.
It's not exactly rocket science. One minute is more than enough to understand them.

He is going to get the 4K anyways because as soon as one is gone he will do the same to someone else. Then they tend to slug and leave people down as soon as the gens get to two to go. This is a weak argument for something that BHVR need to address.
If the survivor holds, gens can fly. Besides, it's not impossible to save a camped hook from Bubba, it takes a bit of skill and knowing the killer though. Granted, it usually ends up as a hook swap but then the survivors have even more time to finish and leave.

Oh, sure, it's only a variant of play AFK after all.
I wonder how many kills I'll get if I play a camping Bubba tonight, with NOED of course. Although, since I'm usually against good players they will probably get the save and I'll get 1k at most. Still, an interesting experiment.

I hope youre joking. If you DC frequently it can go up to hours of penalty anyway. Since you can oftem be forced to DC because of hackers, bugs or bodyblockers, 5 minutes is more than enough.

Five is plenty considering that BHVR refuses to balance the game between casual solo que players and SWF's. Way more than half my matches are dictated by tunneling or camping killers, often times it's done with bad manners. The only option left when you're tunneled out of the match is a d/c as a way to punish killers for playing that way. Sure it's a viable strategy for killers but that doesn't mean it's reasonable to play against so why would you expect a survivor to reward such behavior by giving you points and dying on the hook normally?
Camping, Tunneling, "Bad manners", ... aren't reasons to rage-quit. I hope we never play in the same team. (If I'm the killer though, thanks in advance for the laughs and the easy game.)

The anger caused by a bubba facecamping is justified to an extent. The inability to play a game for enjoyment would anger most people. You comparing the anger caused by tbagging and the anger caused by being unable to play the game is incomparable.
Getting successful skillchecks on hook is still playing the game. It's not that different than sitting on a gen doing skill-checks.

I get up to 3 in a match. I don't call that "dead".

So you are so used to survivor sided maps boosting escapes that a balanced map looks killer sided?
Besides it's not. There are very strong loops in it.

As I, and many others have said. It is not that they made him gay, it is HOW they made him gay and the way they made they drew such attention to it.
As I've said in the past, I think this whole thing has been a step backwards. Again, not because he's gay, but because of the way it's been handled, both by BHVR and by the community. A person/character being gay, is not something special and shouldn't be treated as such. If it turned out that Clown liked sucking on more than a finger, would that change the character in a meaningful way? Would he not still be a fast fat man that laughs and throws his piss at you?
If it's the case that we SHOULD make it into this amazing thing, should we celebrate how someone's straight as well? In the context of DBD, should Jane or someone be celebrated and have an announcement for liking the opposite sex? That would be equality right? So why aren't we doing that exactly?
In all honesty, as a person that's into both. I say good on bhvr and it's nice to see a gay character, but.. I genuinely don't see why they, and by extension we, need to big it up so much. Just let a character be a character, whatever they're into. Just say "Ok," and move on like you would with anyone else in the game.
I'm eager to see people juggle to answer to the second paragraph. It may genuinely surprise me.
-
I agree they need some change and that their current state will make them either OP or trash.
I'm not sure if the fix is to allow to break the bones, to break the power or to use some kind of token or charges.

There's nothing wrong with implementing a gay character in the game, but as a gay guy, I've had my sexuality thrown around everywhere to everyone since I came out in middle school a decade ago. People treat me like I'm some sort of endangered puppy that needs protection. When I play a game about killing survivors/escaping a killer, I don't want some random character's sexuality to be the most important aspect of the game overnight. And with all of BHVR's pandering, the twitter posts, the lore additions, it all just feels like BHVR is saying "Hey look, guys look! We have gay people now, isn't it amazing?". Is being something that isn't straight such a big deal? You don't need to partner with a professional company to write lore for regular people. All of this stuff is just so extra. If being gay, lesbian, bi, etc, is really accepted and normal, I would appreciate if they just stopped putting so much attention to it. Not being straight doesn't make me or anyone else special. Representation is fine. Pandering is not.
Wise words.

I don't really understand what happened to me personally with the MMR. With the old MMR - I'm talking about the SBMM before the tests, not the one with the ranks - I had some good games. But since the tests and this current new MMR, it's an indescribable horror. Except that when I read the forum, I understand that it is the opposite for many. I don't know where I am in MMR, but it's really not a good position.
In theory, the extremes will have more difficult matches. Then there are of course other factors like who's online playing what.
If your queues are long, try another role.

I've been having a miserable run recently on survivor...17 deaths in 22 games, with the killers and survivors I'm paired with having ridiculous volatility (going from a 45 hour Wraith to a 4500 hour Nurse to a 120 hour Bubba to a 3000 hour Trickster). I think a lot of it is the luck of the draw when it comes to backfill lobbies right now.
I must say I'm a way less good survivor than I am a killer. So maybe I'm getting the "average" experience.
My teams are in the 100 hours to 2000 hours range but it's balanced with average killers. I survived two thirds of my games so far.
Surviving doesn't bound my fun though. It's more about escaping chases, hiding properly, teasing the killer to get the aggro, and saving the others. (And fighting an urge to break pallets)
Although ... this last game I was grouped with 3 utter beginners, it was to die for ... 😂 Jinx.

Doctor and Claudette.
Two relatively smart people to have some interesting conversations with.

Nurse, she is so unique and requires so much focus to play properly. Both rewarding and incredibly punishing.
Claudette, she used to be the most stealthy survivor. Since I main Nurse, I know how to stack the deck in my favor should I verse one.

I usually let them. I pause until it's done, then hit the air and start chasing.
It will not change how "unfun" I may play the rest of the game though.

From time to time, a survivor tries this when he doesn't like the killer, the pressure, the difficulty, ...
I don't appreciate condemning one's team, as survivor and a killer.
I usually make him taste the ground for a while. Sometimes I let the others get points healing him to compensate the handicap they've got. At the very least I make sure the next time he'd rather play normally or straight-up DC.
Play the game, endeavor to do better, or help the team escape, swap hook, punish the killer by pressuring the gens, ... Don't take the easy way out.
-
As Nurse (no addons), in Ironworks of Misery, the basement was in the main building. I had a survivor hooked there. I heard the unhook notification and redirected the charge to blink inside and hit the rescuer. They ran outside and left me panting next to the hooks. I took a gamble, blinked immediately aiming at the outdoors side of the wall vault and grabbed the rescuer right on time. It almost never happens but it's so satisfying when it does.

The killer only earns the kill when he gets the kill. If the survivor used a counter to a insta death addon that costs only 7k bloodpoints and it's not even that rare, I don't see why the killer still feels entitled when the survivor uses a counter for that.
I've missed the part about the Myers achievement and the locker.
It didn't counter the death, only delayed it. I guess the killer thought the survivor(s) really wanted to prolong the match and, since he couldn't get his goal anymore, he obliged and he went for a cocoa in the mean time. Everybody is happy.

I bought my brother DBD and his very first match as survivor got him facing a completely CRACKED Huntress. Like Umbra/Coconut lvl. I just sat there and watched him being completely obliterated.
First killer match ended before he even figured out movement and got to the 1st gen. Ofc he got completely BMed at the gate, cuz that's what full swf red ranks do. (it was all quite a long time ago, during old ranks, but it still matters imo)
Like how new players are supposed to learn.
Idk, just add gamemodes vs bots that's not only a tutorial (which is a garbage). And DON'T introduce Trapper as a tutorial killer? Don't mark him as easy, when he's clearly not.
I get that he's the face of DBD, but he's not a noob-friendly killer.
Yeah, even an average Huntress is way too much for a beginner. (Usually the first hit from the other side of the map saps their will to play)
Get this : as a relatively experienced Nurse main (~2.5k hours), I've been matched against single-hour digit survivors. Try to wrap your mind around that.

Like? I don't want to hear it ever again, at any level. I will not play that killer an I'll exit the match asap as survivor.
What's next? Nails on a blackboard?
They are patching it though.
-
Automiss is ridiculous. How many times a clean hit has bounced of "air". How many times have I been turned in a wall while looking straight.
The day they disable that crap, my kill rate will increase slightly (or at least my kills will be faster).
-
Who said it's an issue?
The only time this kind of things may be seen as an issue, is when a company does this for "brownie points".
I don't understand how it is relevant at all mind you. I don't really care much about the lore. Some details are interesting but aren't that important : how some character became a monster; what was the job of some survivors. Their love life wouldn't register on my radar if it wasn't announced.
It seems to matter to a lot of people though.

I normally tbag for like 5 seconds and leave.
Then it's not a basement Bubba (you'd be dead). It's a Bubba who happens to camp in the basement.
(Basement Bubba never leaves the basement once he has found it)
-
I've slugged to bleed many times.
- Pre-nerf OoO
- Some specific SWF4 builds making for an horrible killer match (don't ask, it's not used much ... yet)
- Boil-Over focused team
- Survivors making hooking next to impossible (boil-over, repeat-sabo, ...)
- Survivors making it difficult to find them if I'm on a slugging spree
- ...
I never do it unprovoked though. It takes some special kind of poor bastard to do it just to waste someone's time.
Usually it's the survivors doing it to themselves. They have a plan. They thing they are being clever. Then they realize that simple counter exists.
I still laugh when I think about that bully team that was next to impossible to hook. Powering through several "unbreakable" and grasp-escapes, I've finally managed to slug them all. They were waiting for me to attempt another impossible hook. Instead I stood still for a few seconds in front of one of them. He started to do a few "no" on the ground. I emphatically did a few "yes", then he rage-quitted 😆

OTHERWISE, I WONT TBAG YOU.
Soooo ... you are wasting your time at the gates while basement-Bubba stays in the basement?
Also, who cares about survivors crouching repeatedly?
-
There are too many players who don't understand holding as much as possible on the hook while the others do gens is the best move to ensure the killer loses.
After a while these guys would give up and try something else.
Maybe there should be points given for that, like for a five gens chase or a self sacrifice to save another.
That being said, camping is a valid tactic as any. It's often the only logical move, albeit not from the beginning of the match. It's only strong because of the entitlement and childish behaviour of these suicide on hooks.
"If the killer camps, do gens and leave."
-
I've only watched the first half of the Lery video and it looks legit.
With the duration of the chase plus the far survivor on a gen plus a gen popping and and another sounding almost done then popping : I would have rushed back to the hook to defend it. Then I would have proceeded slugging/tunneling/camping depending on how the next interaction goes. I don't see another way to attempt to save this Kobayashi Maru and maybe try to get one kill.
Your first chase was fine though. I wouldn't have done it the same but I don't know if I would have got it faster. I feel I may have given up with the sprint burst but maybe not on that stupid map.

The first time I've played Nurse, the survivors in the chat told me I was supposed to charge her power ... It was about 18k blink attacks ago.
I put her aside for months before trying again.
It took me about two weeks of training to get some consistency.
During these two weeks I've spent my time blinking from every place to every place on every map. I didn't care about the survivors. The goal was to be able to put myself on stairs, other levels, small rooms, cranes, ... at will.
From time to time I started to chase someone, but only to try to keep up, even if I was at hit range. (And because only learning the maps gets boring)
It's only after the first two weeks that I've started to try to down and kill survivors. Not to win games mind you.
For these chases I've only put chase and detection perks. BBQ, Whispers, Spies, ... you get the idea.
No addons though : never any addon. (Even now I very rarely use them. I mostly do it with some specific goal in mind, a rift or an achievement, ...)
After that the timeline is fuzzy. I've started to win games but I was still getting my ass kicked pretty often. It took months to be decent. Survivors were a bit different back then. They were good enough to push through old ruin and verse a 5-blinks Nurse so I wasn't exactly a challenge.
You know the saying about the ten thousand times? I guess that's how many blink attacks to need. It never stops getting tiring though.
She is, in my opinion, the most satisfying killer to play.
