Just dodge. Rather keep your sanity than play a game with ppl aiming to bully u.
A tip: "bullies" usually expect, quite naively, that the killer will play to win and get hooks. Against those I usually play to troll. I usually get rage-quits or bleed-outs. (Granted, I suspect it requires some experience to pull off)

If I load into a busted map because of an offering, mercy is off the table. I'll play as the perfect bastard.
I obviously think map offerings should go.
Someone made a great suggestion a few days ago: offerings should instead help preventing to go to the map in question with some probability, maybe 50%. The effect should not be cumulative so four survivors wouldn't be able to guarantee it.

I'm guessing the rendez-vous point is on a corner of the map? 😅

NOED rewards survivor's failure to clean totems, yes, we know.

If anything, it is too soft. It needs to start with an higher penalty. Fifteen minutes or something.
The rare issue with a cheater (they aren't rare but the ones keeping the game hostage are), crashes or genuine disconnection aren't enough of an issue to shy away from that.

I have weaker computer with only RTX 2060 GPU and Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, so I think you are gonna get same result than today. Good luck with testing. This whole situation is just so unclear to me...
Yeah, it makes no sense technically. As a side note, it appears I've been wrong, provisionally.
edit: t may come as a surprise but your cpu is more suitable for games than mine. (Mine is great for high-bandwidth, sustained heavily distributed computations. It's basically a workstation).

I played first match with 120 FPS (my usual FPS cap). I got rubberbanding.
I set my FPS cap and limit to 90, I have played for 3,5 hours now. No single teleporting or warping on my side.
Have I had questionable hits from killers? Yes. But laggy hits are normal. Here is my report.
I've lowered to 90 and the I got almost no rubber-banding. I'll continue with these settings tomorrow and see if it was a fluke (I've been playing much later than usual)
My computer is relatively powerful (TR 2950X, 64GB RAM, RTX 2080, full nvme) in case it matters for the threshold.

not true I never see anyone complaining about oni, spirit, artist, blight etc... good ones can destroy teams easily, they complain because it's not fun survivors are slow and have nothing to use except pallets and windows, she ignores everything OP or not it's still not fun
Are you kidding? The game hasn't waited for you to start and evolve.
Spirit used to be a fun killer with some nice mind games. (Although if I loved versing her, I didn't like playing her very much). She had one or two busted add-ons (that should have been touched) and survivors were forced to mind-game and sometimes take a gamble.
Now she is still blind while phasing but survivors knows what she is doing. Surprise : she doesn't appear anymore which is as well because there is no fun versing her anymore either.
-
It's fine. It should help the inexperienced players to find it and will have little effect otherwise. (As NOED gives at most 1 down, bar some chance or bad play from the survivors.)

I agree the frame-rate should have nothing to do with this. These are supposed to be independent systems that communicate together (in a nutshell)

Least: Twins
I still play though. Running to the killer to get killed without any regard for your team would be despicable. (Not to mention missing an opportunity to improve.)
Most: Nurse

How is two uses OP? The killer already gets notified when DS procs, so would only be punished for reckless, hardcore tunneling the second time. We’re talking about a DS that now deactivates after 60 seconds or progressing the game - whichever comes first.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3055870#Comment_3055870
Nah, I hope not. The end game change is fair, but it definitely needs more bite to make up for it. Also agree with others on removing the skill check. It has enough deactivation conditions as it is, and originates from a time the perk could be used on any carry.
I'm contemplating the two uses for DS. I have a few reservations about locker-jump and the ridiculous situation that can happen with it (killer facing the survivor for whatever reason has to eat it or go away), but on principle I don't see a problem having it always on.
Removing the skill check ... yes, it makes sense. That last argument of yours sells it neatly IMHO.

Sadly yes. That's exactly what people want. Based on the fact of how many times I've had to read "but she ignores the games rules !!!!" Even though she's not the only one. They want to hold W. Not look behind them. Pre drop
I can't remember who I said it to. But most of the roster feels like the same damn killer to me. Why does pig, clown, plague, oni, nemesis, legion, etc etc all feel like the same damn killer to me. From a survivor POV. They feel like the same killer to me. Pre drop and hold W. Deny them their power as long as possible. It's all the same. And it's what people seem to want
Some people. Some people call the killer bad when he gets a 4K. Some people call the killer OP when they can't escape by running in a straight line and dropping pallets. Some people have no concept of self-improvement and don't know how good it feels. (To be fair, some people have been raised with the deeply flawed "everyone gets a prize" mentality.)
Thankfully some people can rant and cry and rage-quit as much as they want, only real number matters. And it was stated games with DCs aren't taken into account. It's nice to know that at least these ones barely matter.
If killers really gets a well deserved boost* after the next update, some people will also have to cry about Trapper, Wraith, Pig, Huntress, Bubba, ...
It should fix their MMR and good Nurses will be the least of their problem.
*) Going against a killer that can't get you because you've stacked perks and map against him can be fun but it gets old fast.
edit: and just to be clear, I'm not speaking specifically about users on this thread or another. Just about the character traits exhibited by some. I had a match as Hag last night where I dominated while starting the game with 3 gens left (my fault) and the salt I got from some streamer was so stupid I still can't believe it.

Learn your lesson: don't worry about slugging, tunneling or camping. You are not playing tag. You are not a babysitter. Your only task is to kill everyone : try your best to do it.
If you then decide to let the last one live, drop him yourself on the hatch.
Also don't worry about your English.

The only issue with her is the speed boost given by the range add-ons.
Making her attacks special would not make sense because she cannot hit survivors without her power (except the very bad ones). If the issue some have is with Starstruck, just don't get caught or immediately assume she has it. It's not exactly difficult to handle is it? (If it is, ask for help generally countering Starstruck on another thread)
There are many ways to counter a Nurse.
If you can aim you can prevent her from blinking with a flashlight. It's something I almost never see. You may save someone else. You may postpone a hit on you. Every second you earn is time for generators or someone else to escape from a chase.
You are on a floor or above basement? Doubling back will most likely work because she cannot reduce her blink range and will get punished. It's about timing. Think before you act.
She is blinking from a relatively long distance? Right before she has to release the blink, start running to her then immediately resume running away. If you get the timing right, she'll under-blink.
How do you know the timing? By doing the single most important thing recommended to verse a Nurse : play her enough to have a feel for her. If you don't do that, there is little chance of improvement.
She is almost pure mind games so it may be difficult for some players. But ,however good you are at these, practicing will progressively increase your survivability. Rage-quitting however will only hurt you and your team; and there is never any excuse for not giving your best. (That last part is true for anything in life.)
Finally, good Nurses are probably in the higher MMRs. If you consistently go against good Nurses it's probably because you win a lot against weaker killers. Don't worry: the developers are trying to improve them so you will not win as easily and will face some variety.
-
Flashlight are fine. Macro-clicking on another hand ...
On a joyful note : tonight every single clicker I've versed has been sacrificed. Happy thoughts before bed time.

So, two things. I've indeed noticed survivors starting to use other perks and good for them.
But the new DH is still strong, it only requires more skill than the current one. Good players will manage using it just fine.

They both have their maps their benefit their strengths. Traversal is a wash at best. Basekit, blight has advtange. With add ons..Speedy blight has just as good or better traversal then nurse. Nurse has better downing potential in some situations if you're looking to down and slug, yes. But I'd still argue nurse actually has more counter then against a blight player like me. Especially if you just look at a 1v1 chase perspective.
Even if I'm way off base with my assessment of blight being better. He's a verrrrrry close 2nd. That's something that I don't think anyone thought they would see again.
With all that talk about Blight, it made me want to play him a bit. Apparently, I'm not losing skills for him as fast as for Nurse (if I don't play Nurse for a week, it takes a few matches to get back in the saddle). As a bonus, I got the adept. On the less good side, playing him isn't good for my digestion 🤮
-
It's not only the SWFs.
Every single survivor trying to steal my job by making other survivors miserable is bound to get in trouble with the union.
And since I'm their representative in the match, It's my job to ensure the protection of the local craftsman (me) by giving the troublemakers all my attention. Instead of pickets, hooks are involved.
-
What do you mean "nobody"?
I've "always" been doing it and a lot of the killers I verse are doing it too.

@BrokenSouI said:

Theres not too many hits I can't get basekit. That speed add ons will get me. Blight doesn't suffer too much especially at tiles. There's only really 2 jungle gym areas that are safe from a blight really. Long walls, and those weird ones. Where there's like a short loop of trees, and a pallet in the middle. With a window to the side of it. Basekit blight still has amazing map traversal as well. He beats nurse in that category
With add ons, yeap. If you just compare the current add ons. You can still play around a nurse with double range and make her work and guess. A blight with C33 and literally any other add on. You're just dead
So yes. I actually do believe that no matter how you want to compare them right now. Blight may actually be the strongest in game
Blight may be, I'm not good enough with him to be able to judge properly. His 4.6m/s plus strong mobility makes it likely though.
However, on multi-floor maps, I believe Nurse to be stronger.

@Pulsar said:
So, the basic attack cooldown reduction, does that also affect Nurse's hit off of a Blink?
Likewise, to anyone who played her on the PTB, how much does the speed boost reduction affect her?
The problem of the PTB is that the matchmaking is non-existent. I had maybe 2 or 3 relevant matches in total.
That being said, I didn't notice anything particular.
The one thing that was noticeable was OTR that allowed decent survivors to juke me more easily (for obvious reasons). The relevant part of that perk hasn't been changed so it should be the #1 perk to use. (It will be in my survivor build)
We'll need to see it on live and give it a few days to form a more informed opinion.

Nurse doesn't make you scared. It just makes you realize you have a very little chance of winning unless it's a nurse that doesn't know how to play nurse. Then if it's any 2 story indoor map (midwich, the game) you have an extremely small chance of winning since nurse can blink through floors which no other killer can do.
You should have said "unless you are smarter or more experienced than her".
As for Midwich, it's the strongest Nurse map (there are maps on the opposite end of the spectrum, way more). However, survivors still can win against the Nurse by playing smart. Stealth goes a long way. However if a survivor is running when the Nurse is close and not in a chase, she'll hear him. (You wouldn't believe how many survivors are guilty doing this)

I'm fairly confident that if I wasn't so sick I could probably learn her in under a week. I might still be able to do it now. Hmmmmm.
also, real talk, I just lost my first Dredge game today and I'm very sad.
Do it, make it a challenge to yourself. The sickness will not subside.
edit:

I played 38 games in one or two days, iirc.
So what, it takes people more than two days to learn how to properly use a Killer?
That sounds normal to me for power-oritented Killers. PH, Nurse, Nemi, Oni all probably take about that long to get results with. The difference is that you can't play Nurse like a normal Killer. Even an Oni without using his power can get a down and NOED camp, he's gonna get at least one. You cannot play like that with Nurse, if you can't blink well, you won't get ANY Kills.
It was hard for me to do because every time I would blink, I'd start to get nauseous, so I imagine I had a worse time with her than most people.
The disorientation is kind of normal, it's akin to car sickness. You'd probably have the same issue playing some VR games. (As I do.)
For me it was OK with Nurse but Blight took some effort to play more than a few matches without feeling sick. Powering through fixes the issue.
As for Nurse, yes, two days is nothing. I don't think a such a Nurse is much of a threat. I've learned to blink in a few hours but it took weeks to be able to use the blinks properly.
After that I've been able to see my skill improve after every few thousands of blink attacks. When I was at 10000 I could see the videos of players with 18000 blinks doing better. I've now passed 23000 blink attacks, I'm way better than before, and I still get my ass kicked by good teams. I know I still can improve. (Which is one of the reasons I often play with at most Franklin equipped.)
I'm not sure what you call a normal killer. Sure, the 4.6m/s tend to have a similar way to handle standard tiles but there are variations. Same for the ranges and the stealth, or the teleporters like Hag and now Dredge.
Now that I think about it, maybe one difficulty some have against Nurse is they can't wrap their head around the fact she will not walk tiles and that, say, hugging walls isn't necessarily the best idea. (Among other things.) I mean, they try to be unpredictable but they still almost expect that the basic pathing will work. Something they would probably get after playing her for a while.
edit:
When I go against a Nurse, I know what she will try because it's what I'd do. Sometimes I'm wrong because the Nurse is very inexperienced and I need to adjust to counter basic moves. And sometimes the Nurse knows that I know and it's a coin toss. Still, while she is wasting time on me the others are busy on gens (unless they weren't there when brains were being distributed).

Had that happen to me before. I'm pretty sure you actually loaded into the match, but you got stuck on an infinite loading screen instead of entering it and getting control over your character, so the game does start and you're counted as a DC when you're forced to dip out.
Likewise, I think that this is often the cause when you get a teammate that loads in, is AFK, and then DCs a minute or two later.
Oh, I've seen that happen to other survivors quite often indeed. It makes sense, thanks for sharing.

Lol. "Unfair advantage". That is your language towards SWF. I'd argue that there are advantages to SWF, but I can't think of anything unfair about it.
That would be like me saying killers have an unfair advantage playing against solo players because solo players often DC or suicide on hook. Killers are therefore cheating. I don't say that though, because I know it's not cheating even though killer definitely has a leg up in most games against four solo players.
Ultimately, the game creators decide what is cheating and what isn't. It's no different than any other game or any other sport.
Comms are unfair,I don't think there is any doubt about that. (If you really don't see why, well, too bad.)
But unfair and cheating isn't the same thing.
Besides, the devs are progressively balancing the game around that and make it more fair.
-
There is no reasonable option against this. Wasting resources fighting comms and pushing players away isn't the way.
SWFs on comms certainly have an advantage but the idea to raise solos to their level and balance killers accordingly is a good way to handle it.

This guy can pallet loop a Nurse!
That's awesome how do you manage that
The game is called "Dead by Daylight", not "Drop a pallet to win" ... 😅
Nurse can be stunned by a pallet and cannot land in it. It is possible to restrict her landing options like that. Of course dropping or vaulting a pallet in a chase is usually a bad move but so it is against many killers, as @GoshJosh as pointed out.
I can only encourage you to play the Nurse, as difficult or frustrating it is. It will give you tools to verse most of them.

Let's wait to see it live after enough players have got time to adapt.
And yes, I would tend to agree for DS, we'll see.
-
It sounds unlikely. The frame-rate has nothing to do with the netcode. The rendering part of the engine, something that's most likely 100% Epic Games, is time-based.
The effects of the network message are changing internal states independently.
The rubber-banding also seem to happen during interactions which don't affect the work required for the rendering significantly.
That issue happens for everyone, no matter the power of the machine, which also points away from rendering.
Finally, the rubber-banding usually appears like a stutter or a step back but not always.
Once, it happened to me while I was opening the lockers and the animation replayed : that stuff is messing with the game time. I've considered the possibility it was the side effect of some kind of anti-cheat (speed-hacks) messing up.

The satisfaction when I managed to dodge all five was... well, hard to find a word that properly explains it.
But it felt good.
The dopamine kick for accomplishing a feat like that is on another order of magnitude than the dopamine one gets for pre-dropping pallets and Dead-Harding to safety (although the latter may change soon.)

There's a devotion level that shows how much time and effort you put. Why do you need others to see your achievement for you to be proud? Seems quite insecure to me.
Keep in mind there are quite a lot of young players and not everybody matures at the same speed.
That being said people bragging about time spent on a game make no sense to me. Maybe if one is in the top 100 or something, it's worth a clap, or tipping one's hat, and that's it.

No change at all.
However if survivor queues in the evening become smaller, it will be the opportunity to keep playing that side and have chiller games before bed time.

I think I know, what I think also explain why Spirit phasing time addon also increase recharge speed.
Interesting. I vaguely remember something counter-intuitive with Spirit's add-ons and speed/timings. I've never been too fond of playing her so the details are escaping me.
That being said, I'd really love to get an explanation of the logic behind that speed boost directly from the developers.
Note that I don't believe it would change the outcome much. Good survivors tend to do well against Nurse (and these add-ons sometimes rob them from juke by a hair). Bad survivors DC or give up against any Nurse build, even one without add-ons nor perks. Even if she doesn't blink and chase them M1-style. There is no helping these ones : defeat is in their DNA.
-
DH is still fine. It still will require more skill to use and the new iteration will not be so busted against rangers like Huntress.
SB had always been better though, granted it is also a high skill perk.

Well her addons need changed and the best way would be range add-ons would have increased recharge rate while recharge add-ons would shorten the blink range. Both in equal parts so if you add both your back to basic blink
That has been tried and fixed.
The only issue with the add-ons is the speed boost. I don't think anybody knows why it's a thing. The others are pretty fine, even if most are kind of useless.
-
Interesting feedback with some arguments.
A lot of people with not stand it.
Telling about doubling back working against her is bound to be misunderstood.
Many players don't understand there is doubling back, but then there is also doubling back. Timing, distance of the Nurse, her hand, you head ... Everything has to be taken into account.
This failure to understand is probably why they fail.
(However, if the doubling back was consistently working against her at less that 10m, then she wasn't good. Just saying.)
