because that is just the game.
harassment, and other stuff is what would actually get them banned.
this is the equivalent of asking a ban for a t-bag.
Not even. In many situations you don't have a choice and need to bleed out a survivor:
- body blocked and can't grab anymore
- no hook at proximity
- survivor has a "fun" build
On another hand there is never any technical reason for crouching up and down frenetically.

And its only on for a week? Damn... I'm not gonna get back home in time to even see it. 😥
I wonder how it's gonna work... is everyone gonna be in the event by default? Or I wonder if the changes to the menu are there to facilitate creation of a separate "event" queue.
It'd be really cool if there was like a weekly events queue players can hope is for casual play and goofing about outside the main game. Effectively being the "unranked" queue.
Only one week? Seems like a waste. It looks so good.

Same. Still love him even as an old fart.
If I ever learn your age bracket and I'm older (which is likely) I will be pissed by the "old fart" 😏
-
No, worms cheat in DbD because they are worth less than garbage and they know it.
-
Limited?
As in time?
That would be awful because the trailer made me contemplate playing again.
-
Felt like a dud to me. Still does. I don't own that killer and I have more than 200000 points available.
-
0, for the past 3 months. Enjoying every minute of it.

Bad Nurses are boring because it's the most easy DbD matches ever. And God Nurses are also so boring because they are not giving you even chance to play a game. Nurse is problematic and hopefully one day BHVR will rework her power.
So just because Vulpixia is enjoying her, that won't change the fact most of community hate this killer. She is very much one of the most hated killers ever.
You haven't watched the video ...
-
For the killer : chase and kill survivors before they've repaired generators and left.
For the survivors : repair generators, evade the killer, help your teammates and leave.

Never would still be too soon.

in regards to survivor created three gen situations- i do unfortunately see this at least once or twice a day. maybe not every match, but it’s not as rare as you’d think. i feel like i work overtime trying to tackle middle map and clustered gens in order to make up for the fact that my soloQ teammates will often do far corner gens first. and i get it, they’re safer, but playing like that will always come back to bite.
Not anymore. There will be yet another second chance mechanic for these.

Want to bet it will be exploited if not during the PTB then during the first couple of weeks after release?
I've got the popcorn ready.

Are killers really dry kicking gens that much? What are we doing? What games are we playing where we need more than 8 regression events on multiple gens? I can not recall a time where a gen got hit with Pain Res+Pop 4+ times and survivors weren't dead by that point.
I probably don't kick gens that much. This is especially true because on the killer side I'm a Nurse main and seldom touch a gen.
However, I feel that there will be a time, with another killer, where this will be needed and that will annoy me greatly.
Beyond being a limit, it feels artificial and backward. I know broken beyond any hope of recovery but suddenly unbreakable? That's a new one.
Well, as far as I'm concerned this is a theoretical. I've only played a couple of hours during the last two months and I'm not eager to come back.
-
On the killer side, I don't want to touch:
- Hillbilly (Not even as a joke)
- Hag (Not until they fix her many weaknesses.)
- Freddy (Don't enjoy it)
- Clown (Nope)
- Spirit (Not since her last change)
- Ghostface (Not my thing)
- Demogorgon (Not enjoying that one either)
- Twins (I despise playing it.)
- Pinhead (I despise playing it.)
- Artist (I despise playing it.)
- Sadako (I despise playing it.)
- Dredge (A walking turd)
- Knight (Not until the guards are equipped with more than two brain cells)
- Merchant (I've not bought it, probably never will.)
- Singularity (I despise it the most.)
- Xenomorph (Didn't buy it. Not interested in ruining my image of that wonderful monster.)
As far as I'm concerned, there is a lot of work to do to make more killers attractive and improve their diversity in lobbies.
On the survivor side I only play Claudette. Survivors are skins, I don't see the point investing time in other skins.
-
Do you have a source about what you are talking about? It looks pretty awful.
I'm not about to come back anytime soon ...
-
With any luck they'll buff some killers (e.g. Hag) and that's that many more you'll see in the pool.
-
A few weeks ago, some player came to complain about the Nurse on Vulpixia's stream. He was spouting the usual nonsense about her being impossible to counter. The kind of player who doesn't understand he has to adapt to every killer (and the fact so many killers are easy to counter the same basic way is more a problem than what should be the norm)
Anyway ...
So Vulpixia let him play Nurse against a few survivors and he got trolled hard. He wasn't bad though. It's just the survivors had a clue.
That was quite funny to watch.

Beyond just knowing trap placement, nobody has mentioned that she's easily the most physically demanding killer to play at a high level. It sounds dumb, but spamming your CTRL key nearly the entire match for multiple matches in a row puts a strain on your hand.
First things first : a Happy New Year to you and your close ones. 😊
I've not played for a while and the Hag even less but as far as button presses, I'm pretty sure I press buttons more often as a Nurse.
That's almost all I'm doing. (I think it's the same button on my config but I may be wrong.)
It's one of the reasons almost all my controls are on the mouse : less travel. (e.g. Button 4 to blink and the same or its neighbor to place traps.)
-
That's kind of obvious.
It seems also that a lot of members of that vocal minority are bent on making the game worse to fit their own personal issue.
I'm glad BHVR makes choices based on statistics (even if I may disagree with their conclusion about such or such issue.)
-
Yes.
No.
-
She is very easy to counter. One needs to be god-level to use her at high MMR.
-
Merry Christmas!
-
The one advice I'd give to any player is to play both roles even if you have a preference. (Know your enemy.)
It's even more important for survivors as if a killer gives you trouble, playing that killer until you get spanked by more experienced survivors will show you how to verse it.
-
The first thing I do if it ever exists is cut the audio chat.
I'm in Europe. Hearing kids screaming or ranting in any of the multiple languages around here isn't an appealing prospect.

Imagine not caring about pips.
I enjoy the extra 2 million BP. :)
It's a bitter-sweet bonus. It takes so much time to spend them 😔
That being said, my "motivation" for the pip is a pathological need to always reach the top. (I need help. 😅)
-
The only killer you can outrun is the Nurse, as long as she doesn't blink.
Everything else sounds like cheating.
I'd tell you you need to record the matches on video, report the cheaters and send a link to the video in an additional report.
However I don't believe it helps one bit. (I've kept track of obvious cheaters I've reported and they haven't been banned.)

Why did you stop playing this month?
I've stopped playing around the first week of November and I've played about five matches this month.
I just don't feel the appeal, even with Chucky.
And as survivor I mostly play solo so ...
That spike in December : Chucky?
-
The most experienced killers out there going against the average survivors and using the most efficient and harsh techniques to win are able to get huge win streaks?
Tell me it ain't so.
I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked!
Well ...
Not that shocked.

Because this community has already shown, if they know the details, they will try to manipulate the metric to get easy games (look up deranking in DBD).
That's a good point. It didn't occur to me that showing numbers would help people to cheat them.

And why do you think you stuggle more against my prestige 3 dwight than against my prestige 100 claudette?
Its still the same player, no matter what prestige you are chosen.
Also, just because you are new to chucky, if you are an experienced killer, you have enough game sense and map knowledge to cope with a decent amount of skill. You should not be playing against new and inexperienced survivors then, at least thats my opinion.
You don't get it. I know I'll have trouble against a p100, from the get go.
With a p3, I may have chance. He might not be a "secret" p100.
That's not so difficult to understand is it?
-
Sprint Burst and Lithe are still way better than the broken "original" MFT and it's perpetual speed boost.
-
Do you want to make survivor even more boring and mindless than it already is outside of chases?
No thanks.
-
A while ago there was a statistic showing the proportion of solos, SWF2, SWF3 and SWF4.
Solos were about 50%
At the time I did the math (can't now, don't recall the other numbers).
When you think about it, it doesn't mean 50% of matches are against solos.
Some solos are grouped with SWF3, some are grouped with SWF2, some are together and it takes four solos to fill one lobby. These 50% are melting pretty quickly.
In the end, it means most games are against SWFs.
-
Feel like there are corner cases for this.
A simpler solution that would work all the time is : remove the skill checks, remove the perk-less self-unhooks. (Not 4% anymore)
That way, no hook suicide ever.
-
Best ... impossible to say.
But a Nurse and a Doctor (for detection) would be deadly : truly nowhere to hide.
-
@sulaiman said:
But prestige has nothing to do with matchmaking. a lot of people with high prestige dont have much skill, and mmr is a complete different metric.
Obviously; but prestige is an indication of the experience of the player.
If I have trouble to get a Dwight with prestige 0 to 1 (I really suck at Chucky for now) there is no chance I'll perform against someone with more experience.

Isnt variety a good thing?
Sounds like absolute chaos to me. Thats sounds fun.
Games should be fun, pls remember that.
Well, duh. But I don't see the fun in swapping the views, nor in the giant mode, nor in an "among-us".
There were 2 or 3 that were interesting on the list but the rest for me was just a big what-the-f.
They can't have many game modes either, because it would split the player base and increase the queue times.

Why didn't you like them?
Swapping killer/survivors views? #########?
Giant Mode? What the actual F?
Survivor-only game with traitors? This isn't Among Us.
What else ... I've already forgotten.
-
Most proposals were so bad I wondered if it was a kind of social experiment.
The way they did it, I could't "vote" for the 3 only ones that weren't utter crap.
I'm kind of interested by the 2vs8 ... and a couple of others I've already forgotten.

Because misery loves company?
-
That's a bit harsh. They are slow to move but we still have got some improvement over the years. (And some pretty bad changes too.)
If you take a step back, you have to keep in mind that the goal of a company is to make money.
It seems that the player base is growing (several millions now?) so from their point of view, there is little incentive to change anything.
I'm guessing their biggest revenue stream is from cosmetics. (Something I'll never understand.) So naturally they have strong incentive to develop that side of the game.
In the end, the opinions on the forums, reddit, twitter, ... don't really matter. It's a good thing too given how many posts "takes" are so obviously selfish and the result of a pretty narrow view of the game.
About Otz's reaction : I think he should endeavor to keep his "positive" persona. Being so negative doesn't suit the image he has tried to build over the years. It's not like his opinions about changes are that good to begin with. He always fails to take into account that he has an insane amount of experience in the game : he is an outlier, a singularity. What happens to him or with him isn't what happens in the great majority of matches precisely because of that vast experience.
I don't feel strongly about the Q&A answers. It's a bit disappointing (sharing builds) but that's it. I don't think my solo experience will be improved because what ruins it is the suicide-on-hooks, the run-to-the-killers-to-die, the idlers, ... I've seen little change with the additional information given to the players. The game is only fun in a group because the average solo player is just bad, plain and simple. (The games I've played with a member of the forum a few weeks ago were the most fun I had as survivor for months.)
The one thing I want to see changed in the game is how they handle cheating. Their servers need to be able to detect basic inconsistencies and who is present in the match when it happens. That way cheaters can be detected and banned. Anything else is pretty secondary to my eyes. (I've stopped reporting cheaters given that the last obvious reported, recorded, teleporters have never been banned.)
I would also love if they could not break killers or features every single time they do an update. (Nurse is still broken btw.)

@GeneralV said:
What I believe is worse than the lack of innovation is how the content is being handled.
Look, I understand some of my opinions aren't popular and that many people do not share the love I have for the Old DBD, but surely everyone can see how some things weren't handled properly.
Take Billy, for example. No one asked for an overheat or for Billy to get nerfed, and he was.
No one asked for the style and overall atmosphere of the game to change completely, and it did.
Killer design is getting less and less creative, usually a repetition of anti-loop killers that you can only counter by holding W and pre-dropping pallets, while the older killers suffer with unnecessary changes.
Mix the lack of innovation with bad changes made to innovative content and you get DBD's current state.
Billy used to be my main.
I don't like that the maps aren't dark anymore either.
I wonder who decides these changes.
-
He gets most of his views from DbD. His viewership goes down to a couple of thousands when he is doing anything else.
The DbD streamers I know who have stopped DbD have either lost most of their viewers (and revenue) or have come back.
I rarely watch streamers and Otzdarva even less. Yet I've noticed he was starting to be pretty negative these last few weeks/months. I though his "brand" was to be always positive.
I'm not saying the answers from BHVR weren't disappointing mind you. I'm not a fog whisperer though.
-
@solarjin1 said:
oh god! otz said it. This is bad for behavior because the community rarely go against this guy.
He has usually on the range of about 5k viewers (twice more for special events). There are millions of DbD players.
-
I've checked the date and it's not the 1st of April.
This is utter nonsense. You must never have played her to believe it could fly.
-
I have no idea if it's not fun to play anymore as I've not acquired it yet.
If its not, well, too bad for the one who have bought it. The two-week-until-nerf* is a thing.
*) I don't care if it's a fix for something unintended. If it was fun in that state and it's not anymore, its not good. Again : I don't own Chucky and may never play with it.
