I like beeing responsable for my own actions. I want to win by doing my own stuff not with my teammates. I like beeing a cruel Killer chasing and killing innocent survivors. Its very fun to have intense chases and playing alone against a 4 man team, where your mindset goes against 4 at the same time. Its a nice challange and really statisfying killing survivors after a well played mindgame or a well made hit.

I hate the thought of depending on random players. Sometimes they'll help you, other times they'll just leave you to die cause their life is on the line to finish that gen. Meanwhile, I'm in the struggle phase actually dying 🀣😭😭

  • @Joelwino said:

I play killer because I know that no matter what happens, when I lose or win it's completely my fault. I'm the one who messed up and I can improve from it, or I'm the one who succeeded and I feel good. As survivor, it doesn't feel as good if I get carried/sandbagged.

I've noticed that with my self as well in a way, getting a 4k-3k is so much more satisfying of a "win" than escaping through the exit gate as a survivor to me.

  • @Kwikwitted said:

Man, can I get these kinds of survivors in a game one time? It would be nice to not have to go full sweaty tryhard for a change and have a survivor help me out.

    Just... Lol

    Killer main

Survivor is so boring, in order to win you have to hold M1 a lot on a generator. And the game is basically determined if the killer wants to play like a jerk or not.

I like constant action, finding people and chasing them. Also Huntress is so satisfying to play, cross map hatchers, having an ability to use in chase. She’s so good.

Tier 1 Michael Myers πŸ€£πŸ‘ Love the jump scares.

  • @MegaGamer_01 said:

I think my ears have heard the sound so much i hear the hatch for some reason lol

Oml this is me!! Ha! 🀣🀣😭

  • @Ryuhi said:

I'm colorblind so im pretty much forced to be a survivor main

Hmm... I never thought about it like that, maybe they could add a setting to the game that changes the way it can be viewed?

  • @Mtom912 said:

i’m a killer main, despite finding survivor more enjoyable because of bloodpoints, can’t stand randoms, and despise how other killers play, so i can be in control of that

Randoms can be the the death of us sometimes... Literally πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Lately for me I've pretty much abandoned killer despite generally being a 50/50 killer.

    • A lot more laid back and relaxing, even as a solo
    • Doesn't get judged/insulted on how I play nearly as often as killer
    • Doesn't make me motion sick due to the painfully low FOV in first person without Shadow Born/M&A
    • Isn't on nearly the same "time crunch" as Killer is. If I want to meme around, I can, and can still usually get away with it
    • Doesn't have to put up with fifty bugs that make it more difficult to play the role
    • If I have a bad match, it's pretty easy to just give up on hook and just go on to the next one
    • If I make a mistake, oh well, I got plenty of other chances. One mistake as killer can easily cost the game if the survivors know how to take advantage of it

Playing Killer right now is like inflicting self-harm to one's self. It's a frustrating, often painful experience every single time. You get insulted if you do bad. You get insulted if you do good. You get insulted if you don't play how someone wants you to play, but you lost if you play how you want them to play. And anything that "over-performs" gets nerfed because "think of the newbies and about the survivor's fun!" when throwing a Clown bottle or spewing vomit on a survivor STILL doesn't work properly ever since dedicated servers became a thing I just don't got the ######### energy to put up with it anymore.

I get insulted when playing survivor though too, mainly when I use urban evasion for some reason 🀷 They think I'm just crouching the whole when I'm just trying to be safe and emerse πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • @mrdead said:

Survivor. Mostly just enjoy the challenge and the huge Killer wait times are crap... I can play 2 games before I get a lobby most of the time. Then there's how toxic even rank 20 survivors are. Not worth my time.

This is true. Rank definitely does not determine the skill of some players, that's for sure.

  • @Almo said:

Killer main. I like the intensity of concentration I need to find Survivors. Having to pay attention to the slightest noise or movement makes you feel like a predator.

Especially with those good headphones πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • @WeaponXMetsu said:

I can consider myself a killer main. I loved playing killer and before ranks got messed up it used to be 80% of what I played for a time, but recently it's gotten so hard. Sometimes when you start out with a team of red ranks it makes me think if I want to continue playing killer. Like, if the game goes by way too fast I just basically wasted my time "playing" or simulating playing the game. That's when I knew it was time to hang up my killer main role. Since I'm casual I'm not going to go for the long hours of learning every killer to their max potential.

I understand not wanting to go against try hard players. I started to play killer more often and at first it was fun, but as my rank got higher I kept getting matched with swf (literally got like 3 in a row once) and it's just not fun getting looped constantly or "bullied."

I'm just not the type to try super hard at killer so I lose interest when I get players who wanna play super competitively.

  • @Foxfire47 said:

I find killer to be a lot more fun since the gameplay is better and there are many unique moves from killer. Playing survivor is the same no matter which character you choose. Yeah, there are perks but they work on any survivor. Different killers with different powers and play styles definitely keeps gameplay fresh and fun.

Playing as survivor you basically do the same thing almost every game with just doing gens, breaking totems. etc. With Killer you can mix up your tactics depending on the survivors you go up against. Also with survivor you have to rely on three other people to get their jobs done but as killer, you only rely on yourself.

I feel the same way when I play survivor. Like it's fun at first, but after a few games I'm either annoyed from teammates/killers or I'm bored.

  • I try to play casual when I'm playing survivor, but I usually get a very try hard killer. That just makes me want to play competitively, so I move to killer and play competitive. All depends on my personal mood tbh 🀷

  • Can they bring dresses into this game?? Instead of skirts and tops.. Id love to have some dresses πŸ€·πŸ’ƒ

  • No cross save. I know this isn't about the gameplay of the game itself, but it sucks they don't have a cross save. I switched platforms and now my old account with all of my prestige, cosmetics, and progress is just sitting around.

In the meantime, I have had to completely restart and I hate it. The progress on my other account took way too much time to get and if they don't add a cross save, I may just quit for good.

  • @WeslYght said:

I Heard Nintendo realese cross saving for a few games betewen PC and Switch . And on the last poll for dbd , they Ask if we could play to an another platform if cross save is enable on dbd.

So maybe we gonna have cross save , this could be very interesing.

So do you things cross save will be realese on dbd maybe this years ?

I need a cross save for this game 😭

My account on xbox is just sitting around because I switched to PC 😐 Restarting is not fun and I don't understand why they don't have a cross save honestly.. Like come on.

I've been running into really buggy games for the past week, but this one took the cake. I had an out of body experience with the perspective of the Killer mid-game. I literally had to try 3-4 times to do somethings before the severs actually acknowledged it. Plus I got an error message at the end of the game and my game flat out crashed.

It's not just me, when I have these issues others acknowledge them in chat (plus you can tell from how the killer is playing). And if anyone's wondering, yes, the game still counted that match. I brought a commodious toolbox with add-ons and it was still in my inventory when I logged back in so the game counted my escape.

Has anyone else dealt with stuff like this? It's so bad. (Yes, I have great internet and a sold computer. It's 110% the game)

    https://youtu.be/iBJwfWWGz8k

Lol I got this a lot on console.

I would be up for removing all music from the trials, to allow people to more reliably use their auditory sense. More means to track your enemy makes the game much more intense. The music just ditracts from the actual gameplay.

I'm not sure if they should remove it completely, (not saying I'm in a disagreement with this idea) but lowering the audio would definitely be a great help to us all in my opinion!

  • @TKTK said:

They should lower all the music cause killers barely hear footsteps as the sounds are so terrible right now with seemingly no fixes in sight.

This is true. The chase music drowns out a lot of the important aspects to the game. Such as hearing the survivor while they are running/injured to not being able to tell where the killer is while trying to lose them in a chase.

  • @Oicimau said:

I think it brings more emotion when you are injuried. In my first year, I used to feel tense cause of it. So, its fun, and you will learn to overcome it when needing to listen carefully. :)

Usually I can overcome it because the survivors groaning is so loud, but I was running iron will and it made it seem very "extra" and loud.

  • The survivors are not the ones to blame, It's the ranking system. Patience is what you need most at this point, the devs are trying to fix this issue.

Honestly, they should just make James Bond a survivor and rename the game 'No time to die'

This deserves a vote up πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

    • Make a 2nd account that owns Dead by Daylight
    • Start a Kill Your Friends with that account
    • Make the 2nd account the Killer, preferably the Wraith
    • Put him away in a corner
    • If you explode a Generator, quit to the main menu
    • Profit

Then get DC penalty on yourself lol

All jokes aside, imagine if there was a chance survivors could get injured when exploding a gen? Would make life hell for new players, but would be interesting.

"Better get good at those skill checks. Your life depends on it noob." Literally. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

If I could downvote your comment just now I would but I don't want to sicken you.

Lol. How could someone be sickened by you down voting their comment. Its just an opinion, and everyone has different ones πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ But, in the case of their comment, it is pretty much true so a down vote would look a little misunderstanding.

  • Oh my god. Why don't we just take away the hatch and exit gates completely. Then will you think the game is fair? πŸ˜‡

  • The dog from The Sandlot 🀑

  • The "Okay." At the leatherface video is me at full rage lmao

  • Just wait for them to use it, and then actually make a hit. Basically fool them into thinking you're going to swing, but don't.

  • It's not the killer that's too powerful, it's the player.

That is a legitimate gripe. Corn, especially on console, is very difficult to deal with both as Killer and Survivor.

That is the point of it πŸ˜• corn fields should make visibility difficult, if anything, it's realistic.

  • You'd need a cross save, and they haven't added that just yet. Its being brought to their attention so Id wait before spending more money on things you technically already own.

  • @Foxfire47 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/130061/people-complain-about-everything

Sadly, my friend, that is a lot of the DbD community. I don't blame you for thinking like this and I do agree. I try to bring some positivity to this community, so keep on being optimistic about the game. πŸ™‚

I'm trying my best to be that way lol πŸ‘

  • I've noticed that killers can already close hatch before the survivor is even able to jump into it, (when they are both on it) so I feel as if that would be a little unfair if they have a key. Although, I think killers may already be able to do that if they time it right? Not sure if they changed that or not.

  • @Pulsar said:

People complain because they care. Everyone who complains here wants the game to be better than it is now.

Even if it is annoying sometimes, I appreciate how many people care.

I'm not so sure it's about them caring about the game. I think they find themselves not having a great time so they complain about it because they found something to be "unfair."

Example: I saw someone complaining about the corn because it caused their visibility to be small😎

  • I actually need to know when this will happen because I've already bought all the DLC's on another platform, but I've recently switched to another and I had to restart everything. I just don't feel like re-buying everything again, plus Id love to have all my progress back (like prestige and cosmetics) πŸ’–πŸ’–

  • @iBetClaudette said:

Just look at almost every post/thread title. Literally "Nerf this....Buff that...Get rid of..." Almost every post. It's sickening and laughable at the same time. Devs must think every DBD gamer has serious personal issues. Lol

I know. That's why I posted this. I was looking at all the top posts and almost all of then were complaints about something.. Anything!! Lol πŸ˜‚

The game is simply fun. Not balanced, just fun

It's fun until things get repetitive, which is common in this game.

  • @lunumbra said:

Everyone in this thread saying they need to make this game competitive has no idea what they are talking about.

They literally tried to make this game a competitive esport and it almost killed the game.

This game is not dying, if you don't enjoy the game because you think its repetitive its because you don't use mind games. Mind games are the most interesting and exciting part of this game and keeps it interesting to play.

If they tried to balance and make the game competitive, they would either have to balance for solo play which would make swf groups overpowered as heck (aka not balanced) or they would have to balance around swf which COMPLETELY destroys solo play and the game as a whole.

Mind gaming can only be fun for so long. They need to make this game easier to look at and be pleased. I've noticed that when you get closer to the walls and look at the detail, the things in it are actually blurry πŸ˜‚ like little wheels and parts. The design to this game needs to improve and the graphics needs to change. I'm tired of how some things are set up in this game.

Also, sure people will join and make it seem like more people are playing. But how long will they stay?

  • @OrangeJack said:

    Balance

    Matchmaking

Reduce RNG aspects of the game

Make more killers and survivors free

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076905#Comment_1076905

Good survivors know the limits of the killer's power and how to work around that. Good loopers know when to drop the pallet so that they don't get hit, and they know when the killer is too close for them to successfully vault a window. Yes, killers could use perks to make up the difference if their lunge were nerfed. Equally, survivors like yourself can use perks that improve vault speed or give a second chance in chases to compensate for any difficulties they might be having dealing with the lunge as it is now.

I know it sounds harsh to put it this way, but what you're saying does essentially boil down to "killers should be nerfed because I can't loop them well enough". Just because you don't have the skill to outplay something doesn't mean it's a broken mechanic. The answer is to work on improving your skills, not insist that the mechanic be nerfed.

Don't have the skill to outplay something? I can loop killers easily and get away just as easy. I'm saying they can get a hit that is definitely not deserved because of the long lunge. Not saying I'm going down because of it, just saying they are getting hits that they really should not have gotten.

  • @ABannedCat said:

This thread is basically, "Help, I am new and can't loop the killer at a pallet which is already in my favour. Please nerfs killers, so I don't need to learn."

Lol. You can think what you want πŸ™Œ

  • I have seen the developers play killer and get trolled completely by survivors. Idk if that answers the question πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
