  • The first killer to come to mind was Freddy. I think he needs a visual update and voicelines. His power is fine.

I love xeno, fun to play as and against, but I agree with everyone else about it being disappointing, or at least not what I was expecting. I was thinking we were going to get a xeno that could climb up walls, maybe have a leaping ricochet mobility where you quickly jump and latch to a wall or ceiling from like 10m then pounce at a survivor, idk. In the very least, have a Blight-level speed ability since xenos are pretty quick and agile.

  • He's my favorite killer. I usually run perks that help with chase. I like to take advantage of the fact you do not need to waste time hooking and dealing with flashlights and pallets; that being said I avoid perks that have anything to do with hooking. If I'm taken to a loop I leave a trail in the middle of it during the chase to force survivor to get marked. His M2 takes practice, but makes him one of the best antiloopers in the game aside from Nurse.

You don't know when a map offering is going to be played so "just run sac ward every match" is kinda of ridiculous. And guaranteeing a map that was great for you is really stupid.

What is stupid is ruining it for everybody because someone picked certain maps u didnt like. Congrats now you have no choice but face the chance of playing those maps because NOW YOU cant use a map offering.

Gain a stack of 3% repair speed for each survivor that's 30m away from you. "GTF AWAY FROM MEEEEEE!!!" - me.

With a new licensed survivor coming this July a lot of people are guessing it could be The Walking Dead so which would you want most? The latter 3 options are from the Telltale series and while unlikely are still probably within the realm of possibilities.

I have to pick Rick, because he's absolutely slept on for being somewhat the main character of TWD, but he's an absolute savage.

Daryl would be awesome, but being that a TWD license would most likely be with Skybound and not AMC, probably won't see him.

With the past few updates and chapter releases, there has been new contestants for the top 3 spot for killer as far as tier list goes. We can all agree on Nurse being #1 and Blight being #2, but I’m curious as to who people consider #3 in the current game and its state. Let me know who you feel deserves the #3 spot if I didn’t include them in the polls or why you voted for who you did! <3

After taking the time to learn Spirit, with a good headset, and using mouse and keyboard, I win more than 50% of the time. It honestly feels like I'm cheating when I play her sometimes.

To shade some light on why mori offerings should (or should'nt) be changed to BP offerings, im doing this poll. Its for me to see if really that many people feel "offended" by moris or not. And also for the devs. To circumvent hefty debates i make the Poll anonymous, its only about the numbers.

I dont understand these poll options, but I just wanted to say I just like doing moris because theyre cool, I wish I could mori all the time if I could. It's as satisfying as a mortal kombat finisher. My personal favorites are naughty bear (trapper), pyramid head, pinhead, and ghostface.

Solo queue is extremely frustrating when your supposed top MMR teammates don't know what they're doing and your killer of course knows it all. There needs to be a better method of communication between teammates, this is becoming borderline impossible to win without perk reliancy (another debate). Please add voicechat features to the lobby and in game, mobile has it so theres no excuse for core not to.

Just add the ping system that dbd mobile has

  • That's the most chad perk combo I ever heard

  • I would be happy if he came to DBD as nothing more than a skin for Trapper, F13 is might favorite slasher

scratched mirror myers, may not be the best, but if you play it right on the perfect map it's pretty good, but mostly hella fun

  • I used to be the killer that slugged to secure 4k, but now I just take the 3k and play the hatch endgame. It's quicker, and more often than not I find the hatch first anyway. There are times I'll still slug for 4k if the last survivor is injured and I know their general location, but I don't have time to play hide n seek all day. Feels like I'm holding myself hostage honestly.

I will keep it really simple. Anon players play in certain ways that correlates to the reason they choose to play anon mode. These reasons make me not want to play with them or against them. Please add a feature similar to crossplay off, where I only get matchmade with players that choose to play not anonymously.

Bro, just say you wanna be able to post trash and rage on people's steam profile instead of making up some BS. Would be cool if we could block ourselves from playing with ppl like YOU.

What Killer do you main and why?

I main Plague for a few reasons..

Gameplay-wise I love it when games last longer. Her mechanic provides great slowdown. It really lets me dictate how long or short I want the match to go on for. Her perks also help with causing chaos. She’s just an incredible amount of fun for me to play.

Personal reasons are that I can relate to her struggles. I grew up very Catholic and always got upset that my brother could be an altar boy but girls (at least at my church) weren’t allowed to be altar girls. My grandma always told me that I could grow up to be a nun if I wanted. Ha! As if. So this idea of a woman stepping up to be a central holy leader really appealed to me. Plus I have had a history of… let’s say heartburn in my life. Also, while I may be a little above average height, I’m not as super tall as the Plague. However I have been told that I have the same build and upright posture. So naturally all the pieces fit together making Plague the obvious choice of Killer for me to main.

Who is YOUR main and why? 💀

Recently Trapper bc bored of playing to win all the time, and just the action of setting a trap alone feels satisfying, idk what it is. And of course, getting a good trap feels rewarding. Getting any amount of kills feels rewarding on Trapper. No meta perks, just whatever I wanna try. Occasionally playing the basement trapper build is fun when you get the perfect map/basement.

    Second is scratch myers.

I will die on this hill btw.

Tunneling is good, it forces survivors to improve at their looping skill, i wouldn't be half the survivor i am now If i didn't get tunneled.

You also won't be tunneled as much if you can improve at looping, killers like tunneling weak links, it's smart easy pressure. If your getting tunneled your probably the weak link, or so good the killer has to prove to themselves or you they can down you, in which case you buy loads of time for your team, and if your the weak link you can improve.

Now, i know alot of people rage bc of tunneling and complain it's bad. They have a skill issue and are not willing to forcibly improve themselves at the game. If they get discouraged and uninstall or leave that's shows alot Abt them. They were never worthy of improving.

If you want to improve you will, if you get tunneled all the time you'll want to improve.

Each time a survivor gets tunneled it creates harder survivors for killers to go against.

Tunneling is ultimately incredible for the games health, i know when i first got tunneled i was like "damn, I'm never gonna let this happen again" and i improved and now killers abandon chase with me after 30 seconds and i sit on gens all match because they know I'm good.

Feel free to disagree. But you have to admit i do have a point. Tunneling creates good players

And no. This isn't bait. And no I'm not a killer main (i play both sides evenly)

I will die on the hill that you don't need to justify tunneling. Majority of the players that dislike it don't feel the need to improve in order to combat it, so they'd rather claim it's an unfair or unfun strategy that needs to be somehow removed or nerfed. Yet, it's literally the killer equivalent to SWFs that gen rush, except a SWF that gen rushes will trump over a tunneling killer any day. Holding M1 while the other guy holds W happens to counter tunneling, didn't anyone know?

  • Sorry no TLDR, so I'm just gonna say I disagree.

That's the entire point of the killer instinct though. That it absolutely cannot be countered. It's also why the devs use it so sparingly.

If it's used so sparingly, then it would render that perk to be severely niche, just like calm spirit, and majority of the time you're throwing away a perk slot. That's why I don't think it would be that big of a deal to add a perk that offers killer instinct immunity, it could even be conditional if it makes everyone feel better.

  • @lagosta Wow I really like this idea holy crap, maybe only 2 or 3 times, though, and/or make it a hex perk. A perk like that would go super well with perks like corrupt and lethal pursuer. Would go well with hex builds, too; you could just change perks if your hex gets cleansed. I really want this perk now.

  • I don't have any detailed perk ideas, but I've always wanted more survivor perks involving crows, and/or killer instinct immunity.

  • First off, if someone is getting tunneled out of the game AT 5 GENS, then the team is going to lose anyway because they're clearly not gen effecient, because a tunneling killer nets you more than enough time to finish at least one gen.

Secondly, how can you even judge whether or not a killer is tunneling at the start of the match? If a survivor is getting chased at the start of the match and hasn't been recently unhooked, that's not tunneling, that's just a standard chase.

Lastly, It's not weird behavior. For some, it's an actual strategy to focus only 1 - 2 survivors.

  • @Vindictus said:

There are already perks that counter adrenaline: No one escapes death that is nowhere as OP as adrenaline, you do not have to do anything for it to activate but reach end game, gives survivors exposd status and you receive extra speed boost UNTIL the hex totem is cleansed with the only counter is cleansing totems before endgame whilst most survivors don't even reach the end game. A hex totem that you can almost not counter unless you are a SWF.

Terminus is a perk that gives all survivors broken status in end game for 30 seconds, so you do not receive heals from adrenaline.

So I do not understand why it is being nerfed when there are already counter perks for it, yet we have to carry anti tunneling perks to not be tunneled? Solo survivors continue to get screwed over by dumb decisions that I have decided to quit the game until there are QOL improvements for solo survivors so in other words, permanently. I've never ever felt miserable playing a video game before. They only want people in premade groups to play this game, maybe should have advertised it as a party game, a waste of money.

Now I got my question officially answered this game is balanced around SWF!

The nerf isn't even bad, u act like majority of players are playing hope chess, relying on adrenaline proc'ing during the most niche scenario. The only reason I run Adrenaline was to simply get a health state during late game, that's it. That way I can bank more off of Resilience. Adrenaline is fine.

I like it. Map was way too big before. It's smaller now, that's all that matters to me.

  • Considering you can buy Naughty Bear with shards, its technically not pay to win. Also, it's Trapper...

  • I do every match, I have over 500 anni. cakes, case closed.

  • This game will never be balanced. It's an asymmetrical game. There's a meta in every game, and in literally everything. That being said, the fact there are meta perks is a non-issue and not something that needs to be "fixed".

Take a look at League of Legends. There's over 150 champions, and over 200 items that need to be accounted for. Think of the astronomical number of combinations of characters and items used in a given match, and what Riot needs to do to keep the game relatively balanced. That game is 5v5 and still unbalanced.

The only thing BHVR can do is assure nothing is game breaking or overpowered. At the end of the day, skill matters, too. You said it yourself, you have over 10k hours and get good mileage out of using non-meta perks, but that's not everyone. I've gone against killers running meta perks and they lost bc they were easy reads / predictable.

All in all good on you for not running meta perks, I find it boring. More rewarding to play the fun perks and win.

When a survivor gets out of a bear trap (whether by themselves or with help), they are hindered (20% slow) and hemmoraged (leave lots of blood) for 10 seconds after they exit the trap.

Let Trapper have some reward if he traps someone but is unable to get there in time. It's also thematic, I mean the persons leg did just get crushed by a bear trap.

Just use add-on so they go down when they free themselves.

If you have over 1k hours on this game you've probably experienced at least a couple games in which there will be two survivors left with 3-4 gens remaining, and instead of trying to do anything, the survivors just hide all game and keep you in the match. It is very frustrating and petty.

I have this happen from time to time and it is a big problem. Im making this post because I just experienced it again, and while I did find one of them in the end and get the 3k, it took 20 extra minutes and I never want to deal with it again. There needs to be a mechanic in place that reveals their positions to you if they dont do anything for 5 minutes

Oh, and then the survivors will message you afterwards and try to say that it is YOUR fault they acted that way.

The person who got the hatch in the game I was just in messaged me trying to say that he wouldn't have acted like that if I didn't "camp at the start" grown man btw, I checked.

There needs to be something done about this or it will just be a last resort option for the survivors to troll a killer because they're salty they got obliterated with 5 gens left

Use perks to find them. I don't think there's a problem here.

It's not new that BHVR lacks development capabilities, but I think there are too many bugs.
Even if you stop updating once, you should focus on eradicating the huge number of bugs.

I seriously don't understand the sheer amount of ppl complaining of bugs. I rarely experience any and if I do I move on with my match and my life. I think some ppl just play so weird, and are bad at the game, so they blame everything on bugs.

  • I'd be down for one, I'd bet vikings were pretty scary in themselves minus all the mythology. Could u imagine being chased by a pissed off, blood thirsty viking 3 oclock in the morning

  • P100 does not indicate skill level, time played does not indicate skill level.

I think it's funny how some killers get intimidated by a P100 in the lobby and dodge, or watching Twitch streamers obsessively viewing everyone's profile to check how many hours they have played. Being told I'm bad solely because I'm P3 with Leon or have 300 hours, when I have every other survivor and killer P3 or higher, and I have 1.5k hours across multiple platforms,BUT NOT that it matters, it's just funny.

We've all played with or against P100 players with thousands of hours that were mediocre at best, like.. you've grinded that much and played that much just to be that mediocre, but somehow you think you're good because you simply dumped all your time into DBD. There's a saying about how it takes 10k hours to achieve mastery in any skill. While I believe in this saying, it only applies to those that actively practiced that skill in a proper manner for 10k hours. In other words, your 3k hours of playing DBD does not indicate you actively improved your skill level for 3k hours consecutively.

  • The ultimate gen build I use:

Hyperfocus, Steak Out, Fogwise and Deja Vu.

Commodius Toolbox with BNP + Wire Spool

Map offering: RPD, Midwich or Glenvale map offering. Preferably Midwich and I'll explain why.

Hyperfocus + Steak Out: It's pretty much a given on why these two are paired. Hyperfocus boosts your great skill checks but makes them harder; Steak Out gives you guarantee great skill checks.

Fogwise: You're pretty much always going to know where the killer is at while you're working on a gen. Hyperfocus increases your skill check chance, so Fogwise will proc a lot while you're getting great skill checks with Steak Out. Great for call outs when playing in SWF. (I often switch this out for Kindred when playing solo queue)

Deja Vu: I would argue this is an S tier perk even on its own. Not only does it give you 6% increase repair speed on the revealed generators unconditionally, but it also gives you key insight on the generator positions, and which gen you should work on next so you don't end up with a poor 3-gen position in the mid game. (I often swap this out for Distortion, good perk to run so you're not interrupted while on gen, plus it gives you and your SWF information on what aura reading abilities the killer is using.)

The reasoning behind the map offerings:

    - The best offering to use for this build is Midwich, because the map is so small you will almost always be in the killer's terror radius while on a generator.

    - Since you're using Fogwise you will ALWAYS know if the killer is on the floor below or above you (on Midwich & RPD), so you know you're safe to continue repairing while also gaining Steak Out stacks. This is important because you don't want to lose your Hyperfocus stacks by getting off the gen when you could've just stayed on it.

    - Glenvale is great for this build, since it's relatively small. Install BNP on the unsafest generator, and you can camp in saloon for Steak Out stacks. Save water tower and saloon gens for last if you can.

    Cons:

    - Steak Out and Fogwise is hard-countered by stealth killers.

    - Fogwise is rendered completely useless by Tier 3 Mindbreaker perk.

    - No exhaust perk.

    Pros:

    - Constant flow of information on killer's position

    - Insanely fast gen repair speed if you do a good job maximizing value of Hyperfocus

allowing the survivor to unhook themselves on their second hook if they got back-to-back hooked.

    Hmm, that's not a bad idea actually…

If you would like to display hook stages for each survivor to killer with this feature.

I'm not against showing the hook tallies, mainly because I don't really think it helps much. If you're running against a full matching-outfit Nea SWF, you're not going to be able to differentiate anyone unless they're injured. So for sure, just show the hook tallies.

  • @Emeal said:

Wont this just cause the majority of players to self unhook to get hooked again, so they can die faster and not play a game where they are getting tunneled?

Yeah, but majority of players that do give up bc they got back to back hooked either leave or kill themself on hook. Those people may be more obliged to stay in the game if they can unhook themselves.

But importantly, this could potentially relieve some pressure from the other survivors constantly having to help the tunnelee. They can stay on gens, or heal up in order to take a protection hit later. That's all assuming the tunnelee intends on actually trying to help their team by effectively looping. I would think high MMR survivors would see the potential in this feature.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

We're assuming this gets disabled in endgame? Then we like it. Though we will point out that killers who know this will be slugging more.

I was thinking the same thing right after posting. Definitely disabling this tunnel hook feature during end game seems right to me.

  • U could just go on a website that randomizes them for you. Search up 'DBD Perk Roulette'. But for sure, it would be nice to have it as an in-game feature, and maybe earn you extra bloodpoints for escaping with random perks. And for killer extra bloodpoints for each sacrifice.

  • I agree, it's pretty wack. Especially how console players being excluded from chat, no good reason for it imo. BHVR seems pretty careless about certain QoL elements to the game outside of gameplay. I find it strange how the mobile version has a lot more going on, like a world chat in the main menu.

Also, pretty funny how you can say all those words and phrases in their forums, but not in their game where Chucky's dialogue exists.

  • I like playing against pyramid head, I used to main him for the longest time, and it's very rare to get into a match with executioner, so whenever I see a fellow executioner I pay my respects.A

  • Nothing about the gameplay itself grinds my gears. Even if something does seem unbalanced, I just learn to deal with it. Lower your expectations, move on to the next game, and have fun. I always expect to lose in my games, so when I win it's nice.

However, the progression in this game is insanely long. I've had to grind away unlocking perks for all my survivors on three seperate platforms since there's no cross progression. So that's one thing.

Two, I wish there was a atleast one other gamemode at all times on rotation. I didn't get to play either of the two modes that came in the past. My Little Oni only lasted for three days, why so short of a window to play something new and exciting? That grinds my gears big time since I had to go to training for my job for those exact three days, and usually I always have free time.

Three, the level of toxicity from survivors. The amount of people on DBD that can't take an L is staggering. After every match it's always, "tunnel bc bad," or "u proxy camped, L killer". I can't help to appear as a tunneler/camper if there's one gen left and ALL three survivors are by the hook trying to save. What do these entitled man children expect me to do? Run to the corner of the map and pretend to look for someone I know is not there? Also, even if I do happen to tunnel and they call me out, I don't even feel bad for them if they're not using the perks that survivors have to combat tunneling. If tunneling is such a pet peeve, then use OTR, DH or DS, or all three.

One last thing, survivors that like to burn time by sitting at the exit gate. You won, dude, get over yourself. I call out my teammates after the game when they do that, too. Just let the killer move on to their next match.

  • After 1000 hours, I don't think it's necessary, and by allowing survivors to know when their aura is seen, you're removing what seperates the good survivors from the bad.

More often than not you can get a pretty good read that the killer is using aura perks. More often than not, if you're experienced player, you can get a read on all of the killer's perks by the end of the match.

Killer runs straight to you at the start of the match? Lethal Pursuer. Now you know their other aura reading perks last longer, too.

Killer gets a hook and runs straight to you? BBQ and Chilli. Now you know to hide in locker for 5 - 8 seconds if you're far away.

Killer kicks a gen and runs straight to where you're hiding? Nowhere to Hide.

After playing a long time you pick up on these reads, and learn to take precautions just in case they do have aura reading perks. That's why it helps to play killer, too, instead of maining survivor which only hurts you.

Part of the reason Distortion is so good is because it provides information on what perks the killer is using. Making this basekit, would kill this perk.

Part of the reason aura reading perks are so good on killer is because the survivor doesn't know you can see them, which offers an advantage. Clearly.

All in all, if BHVR for some reason made this happen, I would hope and expect killer to know when their aura is being read as well. That would be fair, right? Small price to pay for trying to make the game mind numbingly easy.

  • I have 1.2k hours and majority of all that time has been spent playing solo queue survivor, I think you need to lower your expectations.

I never hop into solo queue expecting to escape, never, and in fact I may have been that casual player searching for glyphs, but that's how it is, you will escape 35% of the time playing with casual solo queue survivors. As long as you're playing without a SWF group for a game that requires teamwork you shouldn't even expect to win. At that point you're just being entitled.

Also, you wanna talk braindead mechanics for killer, but literally everything a survivor does is a braindead mechanic (i.e., holding W, holding m1, hiding in locker, throwing a pallet). With the exception with difficult techs that are rare to do anyway like a CJ.

The core of winning a survivor game is team efficiency like you said, but you're never ever ever going to get max efficiency on a full team of randoms without comms. Just as killer needs to be effecient by applying pressure. Tbh not many players are very effecient with killer these days, most tunnel like crazy not expecting to be led into a 2 minute chase, which is crazy potential to complete gens.

I agree with the bit about the Unknown. The splash going through walls seems like lazy design if you ask me. In fact everything about the Unknowns design seems lazy.

  • Your question either makes no sense, or those who that answered are confusing me. Are you wanting a challenge??
