Pretty much another case of one side whining about a perceived slight and never having to experience the other side of the story.
And tunneling to get rid of DS ironically justifies taking DS in the first place.

Play the original Silent Hill, the map is really faithful to the design of the orginal
There are gens to find and repair in the original Silent Hill?
Gens always spawn in the same areas on every map spaced apart, their position in each area is just random. If you don't see one in nearby rooms, it is out in the hall nearby. The music room, chemistry room, and library usually have gens in them or nearby.
If a gen is not in the courtyard it is in the hall nearby. I don't know of any tells like the metal doors in The Game.

You don't escape Oni, Oni escapes you.

90% of the survivors I get thrown into a match with.
-
Sure - swf has been killing this game for several years now, right.
No. it's actually kept the game going for several years now. Hate to say it, but without it, the game probably would of died out a long time ago.
-
Pretty much the entire game play of the Twins boils down to slugging for a snowball.

Pay to win Freddy is #1 without a doubt. He can do it all.

I thankfully got Calm Spirit at level 15 on my Elodie and it won't ever come off my bar.
-
You go ahead and play as survivor against these proposed changes, most won't.
Btw, huntress iridescent head is rarely used because survivors will immediately dc or kill themselves on first hook.

i just want to understand why survivors "tunnelling" their objective is considered as totally fine by most players. But killer "tunneling" is not acceptable...
One's an emotionless inanimate object who didn't pay to play the game nor care about what happens to it, the other is a human.
-
Think it's fine. Just tells you when killer is looking in your direction, not the direction they are coming from, though most of the time you can make a good guess. It's just useful for putting yourself on high alert. It's really only effective against 4-5 killers out of currently 22, the rest you know they are coming just by the heartbeat. Like Calm Spirit against a Doc, you are glad to have it when he's played, but otherwise it is nominal value.
It's equivalent to Whispers in my opinion - which can be used to triangulate a survivor's position. There's no real drawbacks for Whispers and there shouldn't be for perks - then they aren't really perks in my opinion (No Mither, MoM).
-
There shouldn't be a power role. This game has proven time and again that people generally don't handle power responsibly and just use it for toxicity.
-
I'm in agreement and I'll say it again - looks like bunch of aisles at a post apocalyptic costco. Grounds looks like pavement, foliage looks terrible, and there are wide open spaces everywhere so big you can see clear to the other side of the map. Throw in those new generators that flash sparks constantly saying 'survivor is here!' and it's just a map I don't want to play.

I’m fixing a gen but the killer is coming so I need to go hide. However, as soon as I let go of the button to stop the repair a skill check is initiated and the damn gen blows, naturally alerting him to my presence. I figure it’s just coincidence but... WHY?!!! For the love of all that’s holy. It doesn’t happen all the time, but definitely more than it should.
Yes, the safe point to let go is immediately after succeeding in a skill check. The other time you usually get a skill check is at the same time someone gets hooked, so their hook sound masks the skill check sound and it's like getting surprised by a 5 stack Lullaby hex - you blow the gen.

A game where one side has a kill/win rate of over 65% at red ranks yet somehow the other side is too op? The game is not survivor sided anymore and if you believe that now then you will always believe that until you are getting 100% kill rates.
Now now...don't you know that stats don't matter if it doesn't fit their narrative?

yeah and he still complains about ds, unbreakable and bt.
Usually the justification for tunneling and slugging is that they are valid tactics in a "competitive" game, yet i can't imagine any competitve game where a win rate over 70% would be considered normal (unless smurfing), and still here killer mains with a win rate above that will complain about surv perks been OP.
Yep, another odd thing killers like to bring up is that the game should be balanced for the top elite, not casuals. Well, there is a representative of your top elite...seems survivors need buffs instead.

@talama said:
I would honestly like to know the win rate of all the red ranked killers that complain about ds or bt or unbrakable or dead hard. Like otz suggest this change while having a win rate close to what, 80%, more?
Dude posts vids about 50 4k's (or 3k and a hatch) in a row with various killers, so it might be higher for him.

But punting Victor is the like the most satisfying thing in DBD, for me. It took top place of pallet slamming the Wraith (I just love that roar of pain he does).

Ah, so you want to play against a 4-man SWF at rank 1? Be my guest.
Sure do. Most of the times it's a blast - they're over altruistic making crazy plays that usually end in total failure.

don't invalidate my example. it seems to be what happened to you. in that example on my end i had clear line of sight to the survivor and the hatchet hit them while they were vaulting, which is legitimate. but for the survivor's end, apparently it was one of those air shots that downed. both of us had good pings. just like in this clip, on freddy's end he probably still saw you vaulting but on your end you finished the vault.
Yep, this is what happened all the time before dedicated servers which was expected to improve this.
As we can see - it did not.
-
Depends on the survivor, depends on the killer. 90% of survivors are just average or below average, including SWF - you get rare really good survivors, but if you are smart in picking your chases that doesn't do them any good in the end. If they all happen to be really good survivors, then they should win. If you expect to own 100% of the time you are playing the wrong game.
-
Yep that's Freddy.
-
Tunneling can be very effective (too effective against your average survivor), but it's still a kindergarten tactic.
It also encourages more use of getting real good at looping, joining an SWF, DS, BT and other perks or methods that many killers find distasteful.

It's interesting cause what I've noticed is that a lot of the posts are about killers crying that they got a 4 man swf sweat squad, or that survivors needs nerfs, survivors items need nerfs, survivor perks need nerfs.
Meanwhile, vacuum pallets were removed, BNP (toolboxes in general) were nerfed into the ground, Key is getting a rework (nerfing into the ground) soon, insta heal? gone. (Not saying they were balanced but they got dealt with nonetheless).
But all I see on here is killers complaining about stuff and wanting these CRAZY changes that would make survivor gameplay literally unbearable lol.
A survivor can't say anything on here cause all the killer mains will riot under your post. feel free to go crazy here too, I like reading the comments.
Killers are alone in game - so they come here to vent and be heard is all. It's a nice support hugging circle for those that need it.

If you play a killer at red ranks and you face 4 ds every single game, you'll find the answer
That's the thing no one faces 4 ds every game - he doesn't show you every game he plays. As a red rank killer I sure don't see 4 ds every game, rare when I even get ds'ed and I even go looking to get ds'ed at times to get it out of the way.

We must take the pings from the survivors and redistribute it among the killers, so that no matter how good their internet is, how much they've spent on it, and how hard they've tried to play well we all end up together at the finish line making that hard work pointless when you could have coasted by on much less effort. To infinity... and beyond!
Socialist Internet!

Yeah play on bad ping so you can get bs hits on survivors - especially you huntress.

I'm pretty sure that happened even before crossplay with consoles.

99'ing is situational, just like opening.
I know what life was like before crossplay - it happens way more now, and then they just sit there in the exit, while someone is on a hook, waiting to get chased out.
-
Didn't use much anyway and when I did - I used them like how they work now.
-
I had a bad case of that today vs. a Freddy. I make the vault and hear the swish of his claws behind me. I think I'm good cause I got distance from the window and one second later, suddenly there's a hit sound and I go down. I take my hands off the keyboard immediately and took a screenshot. No crawling or anything this is where I landed from the vault.
So yeah it's an open window, but a killer shouldn't have a 3 yard reach.

DS does need to be in the game, but they need to actually make it an anti tunnel perk. It should deactivate if the killer plays "correctly" and hooks someone else.
This game is unplayable for me without DS as a solo. The randos I get lumped with would make DS a joke they get hooked so easily and often. Actually, I rarely need to use DS maybe 1 out of 10 games - I just need the threat of it to instill a little honor into killers.
-
Farming once in awhile is okay to me. Breaks up the always sweaty try-harding and just reminds everyone they are still humans.
Also useful for getting some of the more unreasonable challenges done.
-
It's counterplay to me - in fact I will often just drop them back on the ground if they don't have DS and go hunting for someone else if I know I downed them under 60 seconds from unhook.
-
I think everyone needs a buff in this case.
-
It doesn't. Just means you will probably stay stagnant at whatever skill level you currently are if you just go cherry picking.

I have crossplay turned off, that accounts for most of the egregious wait times. I refuse to play with console players.
Yeah they screwed us big time with that since the default is crossplay. You only get to play with people who have it turned off I bet, which makes wait times stupid.
-
I run DS because it puts that little Entity symbol over someone's name which means the killer is far less likely to tunnel overall.
Without it, just open season for the tunnels - I see it all the time.
Killers are just people after all and as such they generally have little honor in online games.
-
Glad this is noticed. Her scream is bad enough, sounds like she stubbed her toe on something.
Cannot wait to unlock Calm Spirit regardless if this is fixed or not.
-
Well most perks and add-ons are pretty easy to deduce if you have eyes or notice how slow an action is - so not telling them anything at all just screws over new people trying to learn the game. I mean if you want easier kills against those kinds of people - they're already pretty easy.

And this is why I decided to set an easier to obtain goal for myself - every session I play as killer, I have a 'quota' of a 1 kill average across my killer matches (ex.: I usually play 4 or 8 killer games, so my 'quota' is 4 to 8 kills across all those games).
That's for you I guess, but even that could add undue pressure. I stopped having any quota, what will happens happens and it seems to help my performance.

Distortion sucks w nurse calling as well. Will go thru 2-3 tokens just thru nurses calling.
Yeah it did, but at least it alerted you that they had it and you could stop healing to prevent more token loss. With Undying you just have to walk past a totem and not even know it is there to start losing tokens and if it happened to be a hex you wanted, forget about having any left afterward.
Just not worth a perk slot in its current condition.
-
Simple answer - you make it stressful. If you don't mind, it don't matter - but if you just have to have that 4k every game, then yeah...it's going to be stressful because you placed that criteria on your performance. And with all the RNG in this game that is a road to madness.

Why don't I rank up if I camp? Do I really have to suffer these sweaty survivors who play as if their life depended on it? Do I really have to chase them and have them T-bag me after they complete a vault? Do I really have to chase these freaks who want to get chased in a loop? Why do they get rewarded for playing like jackasses but killers don't? Regardless of your position on camping, it should not get punished like this.
Cause you're supposed to be a killer, not a camper. No one wants, nor needs campers they make the game boring. They could vanish off the face of the earth and no one would miss them - so we're sure as hell not going to reward it.
Probably a better question is you really need to play killer?
-
Yes - since Distortion came out there have been multiple aura read perks added and the devs have not updated Distortion to keep up with the times. It is pretty useless now.
-
They probably didn't care about the hatch - they probably cared about spending the next 4 minutes of their life staring at the ground.
-
Well the won't skew killer kill rates anymore at least.
