radius or have it only activate after 5 seconds or so.
That wouldn't be a half bad idea either. Give it a cooldown like they do with killers.
-
Honestly so what if it's used by non-color blind people to gain an advantage? Then we would finally have something like SWF has with no drawbacks. It's not like it makes you extremely better, it's just easier tracking. Everything else is still on the killer player. And it helps those who are actually color blind.

I feel like she needs more compensation for the cool down bar, but i don't know what. With enough experience, she can be a terror, but she seems to have the fun factor = laundry.
I'e suggested her power meter works like PH's power meter and she can start to use a blink whenever she wants with any charge, rather than only when a full blink has been charged. It wouldn't fix her issues but it would make her vastly more enjoyable in comparison.

You're asking the wrong person ;) I was against both of the re-works
Oh my bad, I guess that should've been a more general statement rather than on just you.
-
Lithe, Q&Q, Dance With Me, + whatever (I usually run Dark Sense)
Those are the 3 ultimate stealth perks, they help me escape around half of the chases I get into by sure stealth alone, no looping needed.

I assume this is a joke, but just in case it wasn't - How about if more than 1 person has OoO, you play the match that you were given?
Where was that mentality when Nurse and Billy were getting chopped

Again. Even stacks aren't as common as you say. I play so many games. I see a few meta perks here and there at all ranks and most of them can be countered. Just play an OP killer (there are plenty to choose from).
It doesn't matter if they're common or not (and in my and many others experience it is common for at least 3 of the same perk usually) it shouldn't be possible to stack perks like you can now. It's unhealthy for the game and makes balancing perks extraordinarily harder than it needs to be because something might be strong but balance if there's one instance of it or completely and utterly balls to the wall broken if stacked, like MoM was or full 2nd chance loadouts are.
If you don't have a problem with as you claim the common game is then having a max on these perks so abuse can't happen shouldn't bother you. If it doesn't happen that often than it won't affect a majority of people.

I find new Ruin to be a pretty effective perk with Nurse's mobility, and I pretty much always have BBQ + Shadowborn equipped. The fourth slot changes around sometimes between Infectious Fright, Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, and a couple others. Lately, though, I've been liking Whispers as my fourth perk.
Cosmetic-wise, I mainly run full legacy, but sometimes I change it up with bloody prestige or the black wedding outfit.
Wow, you're incredible rocking full legacy. #megajealous

For some reason they have hard capped the FPS you can get to 120. I used to be able to get 165 FPS (which is what I have it capped to). So if you change the limit to 240, you'll still be capped at 120. There may be a way around that too by further editing the ini file, but I have no experience with that.
Ok thanks for clearing that up. I can't wait to Nurse at 120.
-
@Pepsidot said:
On PC you can go to GameUserSettings.ini and change 'FrameRateLimit=' to 120, for example. So you can cap the FPS to 120. Not sure if you new that, but there you go.
I thought I read somewhere that it was capped at 60. Does it actually give you those frames? I'll try it later though thank you.

Played Nurse since she released, 2k hours in the game total. Won a few tournaments with her worth some good money, so she paid for herself and the game pretty easily.

I've her maxed and usually like using a variation of this build. I've never liked running addons for personal reasons, so I don't usually run any on almost anyone.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YUS86EZP5Z1E/image.png
It's hard to really find the "best" Nurse build. You can't really go wrong with many perks, it just depends on your play style.
When I'm not playing her it's a mix of Oni, Hag, Demo, Plague, Wraith, and LF I guess.
C:
I ran I'm All Ears for a while. It was Gucci. That's cool that you won tournaments with her, nice job.

I know exactly what you mean. I always ran range whenever I could too. Ahh memories of Nurse outta nowhere moments. I never considered Tinkerer though. With the buff coming soon I might just have to try it out. Sounds like fun lol.
Oh I completely forgot it was way outside of her terror radius too.
Yes Tinkerer is the ######### and it's going to be even better now. You should easily be able to get to most generators with both CD addons now. I can't wait >:)

That is absolutely amazing. A Nurse main couple...I love it.
I thought that was awesome too. I wish my bf would play and learn her but he hates the game from continuous bad experiences :(
When I first started the game I tried her out and couldn't figure out ######### I was doing and thought she was uber weak. Then after getting my ass handed to me with the other killers (especially old Freddy) for quite a while I thought I guess I'll learn her since she was considered the S-tier. Learned to love her and I liked using omega blink. Yeah, I said it. I've adapted since but I'll always miss using one blink to hit someone from BBQ. It was glorious.
I like Tinkerer/BBQ/Ruin/Spies from the Shadows. Getting gen grabs from right behind the wall they're facing is such a power move. Also love how it scares some people so bad, truly a horror game in that instance.
EDIT: I wish they would let use do this with the crowns, I so desperately want it.
-
"(literally him crying he has been nerfed)" that legit made me lol.
Cynically: It's for testing game-breaking bugs and making sure the changes in game are the changes they actually made (aka wonky addons etc.)
Hopefully: They're listening to our feedback and deciding to wait a long time before making changes again despite overwhelmingly negative feedback.

It felt amazing :.)

Seems like there's a thread on this every other day.
Dead Hard doesn't work half the time so in a sense, if they run it, you have the benefit of that.
DS can be anticipated and waited out.
Iron Will is countered by Stridor.
Adrenaline encourages the survivor to not heal (which can be good for you).
Etc.
I play TONS of games and you don't see 4 people with the same 4 meta perks every game. You usually see 1 or 2 meta perks per survivor.
You can combat them. Just be prepared to see them and react.
"...these are just 2 examples. It doesn't really matter what they're all running x4, it just matters that it's x4."
The point isn't what perks, just that it's stacked. Nothing is equivalent on the killer side, yet it is rampantly abused by SWF groups and dare I say extremely competent solo survivors, although much less.
And it does become a perk problem when they start loading 2nd chance perks and the game suddenly goes from 2 hits to down a survivor to upwards of 4+. That's so extremely against the nature of the game.
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
Honestly, I've noticed that survivors who rely on DS and Dead Hard are the ones who fall the fastest. And there lies the huge issue. It's too heavily relied upon because we all know that EGC with DS? Yeah, they're escaping wether you like it or not. Dead Hard is a one trick pony imo. Use it once, and the killer won't fall for it a second time.
You make fair points but these are just 2 examples. It doesn't really matter what they're all running x4, it just matters that it's x4.
@Mandy said:
I don't think that would work. You have solo survivors who have also purchased those perks, through the shrine or by levelling up their characters - so they get into a lobby and there's a warning that they can't run this particular perk - they're instantly going to dodge the lobby to find one where they can run the perks of their choice.
That's a fair point too. But as a killer I can't run duplicate perks. It also doesn't feel like the game was ever designed around it either. I don't know if my suggestion would be the best in the end but something should be done to prevent sweaty SWF teams from using the exact same build as everyone else in the lobby. What's the fun in that?

This is a fair point.
Tl;dw - If the MMR system is good, the devs will eventually shift their balance focus towards high skill play even if they don't want to.
The issues that exist now will become more apparent when players of equal skill face each other, driving balance changes to fix those problems.
Yes once everyone has been placed appropriately we can see what the best survivors are like in their average game. Hopefully then if the games are so short they can't be ignored we'll see actual change!

Funny, I play SWF all the time and they usually suck despite being on comms. Or are you referring to that 10-15% of the playerbase that are SWAT teams?
But I’ll add to the topic:
6) 3 survivors escaping with a key when there is still 1 gen left.
It doesn't matter if you're a swat team or not. It gives you an advantage over survivors who don't communicate via comms. With no downside, at all.

-
Hopefully this is one of the last resets we get and the new MMR system adequately places players and doesn't get reset ######### monthly.
-
I agree you shouldn't only for the highest level of play, but you certainly do need to monitor that area. I hate when devs ignore that top meta of a game because so few people use it, because then when you do get into that elo level it's nothing but abuse of broken mechanics and it's very rarely skill based.

That was before whoever they hired with the cooldown addiction started working on those things. Can you imagine if they did that to him now? He'd have a cooldown and like 4 useful addons.

i also use every 100 games 1 time OoO but i play solo.
you never can tell if you verse against a SWF or not, and killers always assume its a SWF when they see a OoO.
they just need to rework object completely its not healthy for the game.
Well I think with enough experience you can usually tell if they're SWF or not. If they're incredibly coordinated and hook saving extremely quickly and safely it's pretty obvious they're talking together. But you can't always tell you're right.
I wish they would change it too.

Survivor Perk: Dead Hard. I don't think its healthy for the game.
Killer Perk: Iron Grasp. Makes Boil Over and Flip Flop totally 100% useless.
I agree Dead Hard is unhealthy for the game, or at least in an unlimited version.
I disagree with Iron Grasp though. There should be some killer perks that negate some survivor perks. After all, it's their 4 perks vs 16 survivor perks. It'd be busted if survivor perks always override killer perks and nullify the already small amount they can bring in.

Because every swf play like that right? SMH
In this case it is just the few groups that absolutely ruin the game that showcase just how powerful and unfun and unfair a SWF can be. I don't want casual groups of friends to be punished, but they shouldn't have the option to be so overwhelmingly overpowered either.

@coppersly I agree on that. They did a battle pass for BO4 and Modern Warfare and grinded them both but after awhile, I just didn't want to do it anymore. It felt like there was no end and that's what makes me stop playing. Feeling like no matter how much I play, there's no real end in sight.
DBD's version doesn't matter to me because it's only cosmetic and you can buy the ones you missed later if you like them but in COD, if you don't buy the pass, you're just ######### out of luck and I hate that feeling.
*Note: The reason I stopped was because they added new guns at the very end and if you miss it, you have to pay for a $20 bundle of garbage to unlock the new gun. After missing 2 guns due to my work schedule, I quit.
Yes I quite enjoy the way DbD handles it's battlepass. Most of the cosmetics come out in the shop later if you missed the pass, and the pass is only for cosmetic rewards. Much like Overwatch, basing your cash shop purely on cosmetics is about the only ethical way of introducing micro transactions imo.

Ouch, im seeing a lot of Decisive Strikes.
I'm very interested on why, TBH as a survivor i need it.
I hate getting 'farmed; by my teamate with no Borrowed Time, only to get put right back on the same hook. when i play solo.
DS helps me enjoy the game solo with an extra 60 seconds of LIFE.
Thoughts?
I think almost everyone agrees as an anti-tunnel perk it's fine, but it's so easily abused x4 in a SWF group that you're not even trying to tunnel.
@Andevrr said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1438774#Comment_1438774
in that case, maybe a re-work for OoO would be a better fix. possibly a long cooldown on use, or maybe making it a ultra rare addon? idk lol
I think what they did with the new obsession perk would be a start; if you're not the obsession you don't get any benefits from the obsession perk. Really don't like that there's no inherent risk to being the obsession and others who aren't the obsession can benefit from perks as if they were the obsession.
-
@Andevrr said:

As much as i hate object as killer. I like the concept of one person having it, its kinda rewards comm swfs, creates strategy. In return he gets tunneled so its ok. But if there are more than one Objects..yes game is now broken.
In a SWF there's no real point in running more than 1 OoO unless as a group you're afraid he might get tunneled too quickly.
And why should a perk such as this, one that reveals the killer, be ok for solos but makes the already stronger SWF even stronger?
-
@wisdomwielder said:
Object of Obsession literally breaks the game and should not exist.

It used to be Adrenaline but idk what happened, a meta shift or gameplay shift but I don't see too many squads running 4 Adrenaline as much anymore.
-
@Rivyn said:
Why did you play it in the first place? As soon as you saw four OoO users, just stand by the gate and let them do gens. No need to put yourself through that frustration at their expense.
Not only that but they'll depip and lose out on points. Bonus if they burned 4 cakes too.
Yeah OoO should be disabled when in a SWF group of any size. It's just such an easy to abuse perk with an already abusive SWF system.

@coppersly I do this with any game I play that has some type of leveling system. On Call Of Duty, I've grinded to max Prestige and got all guns maxed and even the special camos like gold, diamond and even dark matter and dark sky. I even got platinum and the new camo on Modern Warfare done. I just like feeling that what I've done mattered and I enjoy the progression. I also play WOW Classic and have 4 different maxed level 50 characters and thier professions done also. Its just what I enjoy doing while playing. Note: I also don't have a main for either. I play different killers and survivors so its nice to switch and not have to worry once I get the perks I like for them.
That's a good outlook to have for games. Certainly with the grind wall growing ever higher in games.
-
@OniWantsUrLocation said:
Congrats, dude! Personally, I never even considered doing this because I don't see the point. Only my loved ones are P3. And not even all of them.
I don't see the point in doing it once you've invested any amount into a level 50 character. If you got to keep the Bloodpoint offerings I might consider it. But as it stands there's no real reward and no point other than bragging rights.
And if they do make it worthwhile to do that god awful grind you can bet people like me with no prestige characters but everyone is 50 are gonna be sad/pissed

Concepts belong in the feedback section so I'd wager questions.

That is where the range add-ons come in handy.
yes but like with Nurse I wish I didn't have to run them to feel like I actually have breathing room and not having to camp around my nest.
I also like using Shackles + Mint Rag for the silent map wide teleport. Back when I used those addons more often I'd usually run MYC and place a trap behind the hook so they wouldn't trigger it and when I get the unhook sound I could instantly deal with the unhooker.
-
Well corrupt won't help you much the whole game tbh. Survivors can still play around it as if it's not there too. I think your better off with Infectious Fright.
-
@MegaWaffle said:
Current one I'm enjoying is :
Hag
Make Your Choice
Nurse Calling
Monitor & Abuse
Sloppy/Hex: Haunted grounds
Add-ons are anything to increase trap speed/distance.
I wish Make Your Choice was more consistent on Hag. It feels like if I teleport back to early I've lost it but if I wait the trap might expire or they might already be hiding. If her default range was bigger I'd feel more comfortable being far away but I don't want to be out of range just to trigger the perk itself.

Ok so it's not just me then lol. It's so weird how pretty much every other game looks good (even acceptable is fine) and then I start DBD and cringe because the colors seem all wrong and unnatural.
Thanks
No problem. It's partly designed that way because if you could adjust the color and brightness settings in game it would be harder to balance certain aspects of the game, hence why they removed the moonlight offerings and made the lighting standard.

If someone recommends settings that they love then I might love them too lol. I guess I prefer cooler colors as opposed to warmer. I can't seem to get my TV in the sweet spot between too dark and too washed out looking.
I watched a movie last night and I thought it was perfect but then I booted up DBD and it just doesn't look good.
DbD is a hard game to adjust for. I'd recommend trying to adjust it with a browser or video open, something that you'll easily be able to see differences on and then just leaving it. Adjusting strictly for DbD is a pain unless you have multiple profiles on the T.V.
-

If you wanted to do a Wal-Mart but not have to pay for it AND tie it into an already existing DBD character, might I be so bold as to offer either S-MART or Ashy Slashy's hardware store emporium?
I for one would much prefer the well-stocked hardware store/sex-toy emporium over some generic store :D
Haha that would be hilarious Mori-ing people in the sensual toys section.
-
I don't know how to give you those kind of settings. Everyone prefers different color settings. I'd try playing with the presets on your T.V. and then fine tuning what you don't like about your favorite profile.
-
I'd like a mall map it would be cool but it would have to be styled after the open space 2 floor model. I don't want another Lery's map with 4923683049678304985924875 walls every 4 feet.
-
Nurse for sure. She's got the coolest power and it feels amazing when you can predict where they're going through some crazy loop and end up in front of them. Few things in this game get you as close to the power trip as Nurse does.
Hag is incredibly fun but against good SWF she gets destroyed too easily for my liking.
Spirit is fun too.
-
This sounds all to familiar to my Nurse ears. I feel for Billy mains.
I like your idea of overheat only applying while revving. That seems like a good middle ground and stops the holding the charge problem like you said. I also agree his addon pass was a complete failure. Same as Nurse. I don't even have suggestions for a majority of them since I don't play Billy and I don't even know how to begin to fix half of them.

Cool! I know people were recommending the hell out of shadowborn but ill try this!
That's also another go-to perk for a lot of Nurses. I don't like it myself because it doesn't do anything for me except let me see more. That's cool and all but I want more from my perks. I know it tremendously helps a lot of players use Nurse though.
-
Tinkerer, Ruin, BBQ, and Spies from the Shadows on Nurse.
Tinkerer and Ruin allow me to save gens and guard them without wasting precious time kicking them. BBQ is self explanatory on Nurse. Spies from the Shadows is the best tracking perk I've ever had for her. It has lead me to soooooo many survivors that I would have never found or known were nearby otherwise. It feels like a more direct version of Whispers.
