It's a stupidly small distance. Camping is still really easy. The change they were going to do wasn't enough and it still got canceled, which is wild to me.

Basically my plan I'm no longer playing Survivor just Killer from now on I'll still do play while you wait survivor in 2v8 that ain't as miserable as 1v4 soloQ
As much as I don't like 2v8 I've also been playing it because it trashes the 1v4 queue so throughly. I'm looking forward to business as usual for my killer queues again. And yeah, solo survivor is bearable in 2v8 becuase it's just idiotic and feels like zero stakes.

You didn't read the part that I've said gen rush and tunnel should be exterminated together, right?
Also not defending tunnel, but do do this you require to beat a surv in a chase in most cases.
Gen rush can be accomplished without any skills (unless your reflexes are so bad you can't hit skill checks).I don't believe the two things are equivalent, nor do I believe the popular narrative that nerfing gens will do anything to stop tunneling, as it already hasn't and they've had plenty of nerfs. True genrushing isn't even a thing since the multiple adjustment to BNPs, which is where the term came from. Killers will spend 90s in chase while spreading zero pressure and cry gen rushing when three gens pop even if no one has a single gen perk or toolbox.

It shouldn't be possible regardless.
It incentivizes survs to only do this crap instead of actually learning to be better at looping and playing the game in general. It incentivizes survs to only do this crap instead of actually learning to be better at looping and playing the game in general.
Replace "survs" with "killers" and you can make this sentence about tunneling.

The existing players matter more than newbies. It's okay for a game to be hard.
No they don't. Older players are always moving on. You have to appeal to new and causal players to stay fresh and alive or you'll have a slow bleed out with no transfusion to keep it from death. The game has stayed alive by constantly appealing to new players through new content. And they won't stay if it takes 2k hours just to learn how to counter a low skill killer's cheese tactics.
-
You're injured and you might be in a bad spot. The killer also might body block you and count to 10. They might have high mobility or anti-loop. They might use aura read to teleport to your location and down you mid heal with no warning. They might be lurking nearby with Insidious. Sometimes you think the killler is gone and they fling themselves to your location without warning. It often is uncounterable if add-ons, perks, and abilities catch you by surprise.
Also, expecting every single survivor to be a great looper while any killer with low skill can tunnel is unfair.

I'm not shifting from the point. I have nothing to say about it because I agree with it. Hyperbole is a problem that BOTH sides are guilty of. Don't act as if survivors don't do the same. They screeched and cried so insanely hard they got a low pick rate, mid-tier killer completely gutted into the worst killer in the game for no good reason.
The hyperbolic leanings go in waves, but the killer waves tend to be more intense. And it's been a long while now that we've been in one. There will be a sight shifting now that survivors are getting nothing, yet again, but something tells me it won't last long.
If I recall, the SM nerf was also implemented because of her inflated KR matching the complaints. I somehow doubt the complaints about pallets are syncing with plummeting KRs. Much like Fog Vials, they're probably more annoying than anything, but will likely get the nuclear treatment just the same.
Yet that's a good example of a killer who wasn't that popular to begin with being cried almost daily on the forum (and now it's being addressed.) There was even that incident of death threats toward an employee during the anniversary event because of a silly comment about SM. If someone said "Zarina sucks" I don't think the response would be as severe. I don't understand these attachments people form towards these individual killers, especially when they haven't even been around that long. There are 41. Pick another if you don't like where one is at. It's an advantage survivors lack. They can't just pick another character who will get tunneled or slugged less.
Kaneki is still complained about and people DC just hearing his terror radius, and he's been overtuned for how long now? If there were daily posts in the forum and other social media platforms, maybe more would happen faster. I see styptics in my matches a lot. I'm sure many are very unhappy with the upcoming change. Where are the 30 posts about it like there have been for pallets? Survivior simply aren't as persistently loud about their grievances. They quiet down and accept things much faster.

Survivors are often told to "adapt" because at the end of the day, they are just skins. They all play the same, do the same thing, etc. They are balanced among each other because there is no uniqueness, therefor it comes down to individual skill (what what perks they chose).
Telling killers to "adapt" isn't so simple because every killer is different and functions differently. Because of that, a new thing (perk or playstyle or whatever) that survivors get may be flat-out un-adaptable because of how a particular killer works.
Yet those identical survivors are often told to bring perks to counter the identical cheese tactics of many killer players, which are used regardless of who they're playing as. So that advice can be flipped here. If pallets are an issue for you, Fire Up, Brutal Strength, Spirit Fury, Hubris, Enduring, and Dissolution can all help to use the sense of safety the pallets give them against them.
You're still trying to shift this from my point though, which is hyperbolic responses, not just the pallets. The current post about why killers would install the game is so overstuffed thin-skinned crying about quiting over any little thing. You don't see this level of emotion from survivors nearly as much.
-
@ObsidianButterfly said:

It's not that simple.
The pallet density thing wouldn't be a problem if the gap in power between killers wasn't so astronomically big. Sure, it helps survivors against some of the top level killers like Blight, Billy, etc. (not by a huge amount, but it's noticeable). But is also renders a majority of the killer roster exponentially weaker than they already were. It hurts the weaker killers far more than it hurts the strong killers. That's the problem.
First, I'm not saying the pallets don't need adjusting. I'm actually deeply indifferent. They're not hurting me as killer. My last 30 days I've played as Wraith, Spirit and, mostly, Dredge, with no pallet-break add-ons or perks and I'm sitting at a 78% KR. So the problems other people are having just aren't happening to me. I'm also at a 39% ER as survivor, so they're not helping me there either.
My point is there are people saying they have thousands of hours and they'll quit the game over an update that's new and will clearly get nerfed. These sort of hyperbolic (and, I'm sure, disingenuous) drama displays are so embarrassingly over-the-top but somehow super common. I'm always hearing the word "adapt" when a new overtuned killer comes out yet the adaptation only seems to be expected of one side.
And the pallet thing is one example. Survivor mains on this forum tend to be mostly thoughtful and poignant and what they need to be is obnoxious and loud.
-
Survivors aren't being loud enough. The feedback from the last two ptbs has been dominated by killers screaming, crying, and ripping out their hair. The forum has been heavy with them trying to direct the narrative by threatening to uninstall because of things as minor as pallets or tbagging (and it's clealrly working). You're going to have to match that overly-emotional intensity if you want to achieve anything.
-
My bad thinking the forums would actually have a discussion and provide intelligent and valuable feedback to my curiosity.
Okay, here: you tinting this whole line of questioning by implying survivors get to dictate the direction of things because they're the majority is soaked in bias. In my observations, despite killer-only players being extremely loud, they're also very rare. Most people play the whole game. So it isn't survivors vs killers as much as you want it to be. Many killer-players also like 2v8 because it's the only time they can play killer with a friend. "But content creators" isn't a reason to stop something. I don't like 2v8 or what it does to the 1v4 matchmaking, but it's here because many regular, normal, average, casual players enjoy it and they absolutely should trump the desires of killer-onlys and content creators.

The only thing was increasing the charges from 80 to 90.
Gens perks and toolboxes can still be stacked. Gens can be finished solo in 30s and with a partner in 20s.
Hens WR of fast escaping is ridiculous. This should never be possible.
Why Hyperfocus + Stakeout is still a thing?Gens can be finished solo in 30s and with a partner in 20s.
The build you're referencing is Stakeout, Hyperfocus, BtL, and Bardic, yes? Unlike tunneling, this build is not very common. It also takes set up. You have to linger in the killer's terror radius, then you have to go through the Bardic animation, and receive a random result from it. Then, when you're done with a gen, you have to spend time in a locker for BtL. Factor in all that extra time spent preparing to do a gen instead of just doing it. Three parts of set up when you could have just been on a gen, or brought Resi and Deja Vu while hitting great skill checks. Content creators doing odd or niche things for views isn't a reflection of actual in-game realities from regular players.

"Killers can easily comeback at 1/0 gens left."
Like… what?? Unless the killer dedicates to endgame build, or Survivors made a huge mistake of getting 4-man slugged, this almost never happen if all 4 survivors are alive at that point.
Trust me, as someone who never intentionally tunnel/slug/camp, unless survivors mess up really hard, it's impossible for killer to comeback at 1/0 gens.
If I play ten matches in a session, I almost always have one where I did piss poor, got 0 to 3 hooks, and got a 3k or 4k in end game without an end game build. It's not just possible, it's common. Happens in my survivor matches all the time too. Survivor equivalents of a comeback like that are pretty much nonexistent.

I've been somewhat surprised by the turn content creators have taken (I also generally think there's a lot of problems highlighting them). Somehow 9.2 PTB has gone from the worse thing in the world, to being fondly remembered as a great idea just in need of a few minor tweaks.
I actually come down on the great idea, minor tweak side, but I really feel like we've seen a massive shift in messaging from some people.
I think this was a mixture of the loud minority getting their way and then walking triumphantly away, and the dust on the knee-jerk reactions settling and everyone just thinking it over and realizing it was an okay idea.
-
I will just continue to play killer when no friends are available to play. They're the only thing that make survivor bearable. I'd love to solooq again but as long as BHVR has no interest in helping the experience then I have no interest in participating in it.
if the killer queue times get too bad, I guess I might take that break.

If you've uninstalled and don't care why are you complaining about a temporary event that's having no affect on you?
Enjoy the journey of learning that forums aren't for you setting up personal soapboxes. It's crazy, I know, but people are able to respond.

Elusive, at least, should go through. There's no reason we can't try one, single thing.
i cannot count how many times i’ve accidentally followed the scratch marks of the person that got unhooked instead of the one that did the unhook
I can't even tell you how many times I've had to swerve because I chased the wrong person. Would be helpful to not have that happen anymore.

This is the clip that people are mad about? Seriously? I saw people crucifying them on social media and I thought it must have been some really out of touch dev taunting killer mains, but now that I've actually seen it you guys can't be serious.
It's so clear to me that he simply did not, in that moment, get the full message. He was supposed to hear "everyone is trying to tell you that the reason people are slugged so much is the overabundance of pallets." However, the words he was told were "Everyone is saying pallets." That's it, no additional context
It's so clear to me, and frankly anyone who occasionally has to do presentations for work, that he's trying to juggle remembering all of his notes for this two hour long livestream and just failed to parse 100% of the context of that one offhand comment. I mean it doesn't look great, but come ON
You're not allowed to be naunaced or understanding. Devs just hate killers and have never even seen the game they wotk on, obviously. Cause that makes sense.
-
I also want to see the original idea come back in some way. A bold move needs to happen to shake this game up.
People keep talking about these gen rush builds as though they're super common. I almost never see builds fully dedicated to gens. It's usually just Resi or Deja Vu. I see hard tunneling way more than I see full gen builds.
But okay, we nerf gen perks and raise gen times. Guess what? Tunneling stays because now Exhaustion is the problem. Nerf those? Now it's second chance. The goal post moves endlessly. Eventually something has to be done to make things change.

Showing my age, but I'm from the time where you'd get to the final level of the original Super Mario Bros, die, and have to go all the way back to level 1. The internet wasn't a thing, so none of us knew any different back then. I think the popularity of shorts, reels, and tiktoks have created a generation with a need for instant gratification. People aren't keen on investing time to learn. DBD isn't that sort of game. From recent releases and reworks (both killer and survivor) though, I think they're trying to lean that way.
I have to say, if there's one thing I don't miss about older games it's not being able to save or restart at checkpoints. I have no love for the games of my youth because of how grueling that was. I used to leave my poor Super Nintendo on with a game paused all night and day until I got home from school and could play again. Thing was a beast though. Pretty sure it still works if I were to dig it out of storage.
But I suppose it did teach me to stick with stuff. I don't expect instant gratification in games.
-
Oh no, these poor, perkless, day-one babies.
I had a match like this with Trapper some months ago trying to do a Quest and they did so awful that I felt kinda sick. One poor guy went to second and I didn't know (pre visible hook states) so when I hooked him again and he died I was just like "...oh." I dead stopped mid-chase multiple times because they were just running in straight lines without looking behind them. At one point I was just standing in the middle of the map hearing screams and snapping traps feeling like a smurf.
But then I'll try a killer for the first time and get a 4man of p100s and get stomped. It's like always one extreme or the other.

it really depends on internet speed to be able to properly connect and run but that’s probably the least noticeable thing when playing.
Especially in demanding games there’s a very slight input delay on most everything, so when it comes to dbd skill checks you gotta press super early in order to hit greats, and fine movement can be tricky.
But id really only recommend the portal if you travel a lot and you known you’re gonna be in a place with good wifi. Most hotel WiFis that I’ve tried haven’t worked with the portal unfortunately so take this with a grain of salt. Until the portal sees more optimization, I can’t justify the purchase in my opinion.
Would you say dbd is playable (and winnable)? Is one role trickier than the other? I wouldn't mind it for just story-based games, if it's reliable. I've also heard some iffy think about the longevity of the joysticks.
Mostly, I can't decide if I should pull the trigger on it or wait for the rumored portable option that may come out for PS6. The Steamdeck is just too expensive.
-
@AmpersandUnderscore @CorvidXCVIII the primary difference I've noticed playing on EU and NA servers is which killers are more popular where. Both regions' vibes depend more on the time of day than the location itself. Hard tunneling happens on both but it's not every game in either region.
I will say, I tend to get BMed by killers a lot more on the NA servers. Hitting on hook and humping are pretty common. It always surprises me how much I hear about the deep offense that is tbagging at the gates, which I find kinda goofy and harmless, yet I got humped and tbagged by a Ghostface the other day for over three minutes before he finally moried me, and had an Unknown the day before troll-tunneling people out and hitting on hook over and over. When NA is toxic it's really toxic.
-
1. From a survivor perspective, I'd like to keep the killer busy for one gen. I consider one gen per hook a winning trajectory for survivors (as long as the hooks are on different people.) As killer, I want first down before a gen pops. I consider two hooks before one gen finishes a winning trajectory as killer.
2. I don't really have a set answer for this. In a perfect world, I'd like everyone on death hook with one gen left. That's the sort of tense ending I like. I want it to come down to the end of the match. Rarely happens though. Like many have said before, it's often stomp or be stomped. As killer, there's often one supreme juicer that I just avoid all match and they get no hooks, and I try for them once there's two dead. So I guess 6 is fine?
3. New things should get constant tweaks until they're right. That never seems to happen though. We either get the immediate destruction of Fog Vials or we get Ghoul, still unbearable and hated how many months later? It's one extreme or the other.
4. As killer, a 3k, because that's what it is. As survivor, I hate that the wincon is personal escape and I want it changed. It's not a win to me unless three get out. I personally don't feel like I won when I'm the only escape. It's actually kinda depressing to me to leave alone, especially through the hatch.
5. Again, tweaks until it's right. There are killers I can't stand and survivor perks I hate dealing with but there's nothing I want deleted from the game except tunneling at 5 gens and slugging for the 4k, and that's a different matter.
-
These are departure reasons I can understand. The game is getting more and more sloppy and simplistic and it's sad to see. But it also seems to be what people want. 2v8 is basically braindead mode and a lot of people seem to love it. And instead of QoL were just getting more and more bugs. I wish they'd either hire more people for polishing or chill on the endless new content and fix their game.
-
Doing okay but not as amazing as some people. I've had a lot of infuritating last second deaths.
I've barely played killer this time around. I'm not a big fan of 2v8 killer, and my few matches have been abysmal.

HOT TAKE: Even if they add harsher DC, people will just start running towards killer and starting doing gen infront of killer face. So go ahead and add 24h penalties because it won't change anything. ;)
People already do this to me pretty much every time I play. That and standing under or running over to hooks, AFKing, or noise spamming to get me to come to them. I get more of this than I do DCs, by far.

The thing is
There are two problems with doing as it is
- Negativity bias. You will always remember bad over good
- I have faced several people who have d/c first chase, all in one day on huntress, when I grabbed someone off a gen they d/c'd immediately
But thr D/C system as it is should be okay, changing it to a harsh system will allow cheaters to force them to dc(such as lagging someone ouy)
I think negativity bias is where these complaints come from. Keeping track of the DCs in my killer matches has shown me it's not that bad. People just remember that one day they had a DC in every match. There is a day or two like that in my notes so far, but it's not the norm. It's the same as people saying there's hard tunneling in every match. There isn't, but you do have days where it's back to back to back and those stick with you. And then those people run to the forum to complain.
And yeah, there's so many things that can happen. I get a server disconnect every 30 matches or so. Even with my accidental disconnects I never get the penalty. I'm lucky I don't see many obvious cheaters but the fact that there seems to be so many and BHVR doesn't do much means they can't really sharpen penalties.
-
The game is horror in a surface way, but I can't really feel any kind of way about the argument towards fear. I've been taking in the horror genr—from 1800s literature to modern film—since I was a kid and no piece of fiction scares me. It's just not possible because it's not real, and my line between fiction and reality is very thick. I personally find horror mostly comical and I often approach DbD in that same way. Even when I was fairly new, I didn't feel the way you're describing for newer players. I thought the game was mostly funny. Plague is one of my top killlers despite a low KR because I think she's hilarious. The genre has different effects on different people.
Being slugged repeatedly or camped into second aren't things that make me feel tense and edge-of-my-seat, they just piss me off because the game allows them to happen. I know the killer who's body blocking me and counting to ten is a not a scary monster, just some cheeto-fingered jerk who can't manage the 1v4 the game is meant to be so they have to force a 1v3. I'm far too aware of the other players as people for me to be feeling anything like immersion in the horror elements of this game. And, as you said, after thousands of games, we're all pretty numb and accustomed to everything. It's very rare for me to have a match that makes me feel tense.
But I also don't see what you're arguing against, tension-wise. You can still be tunneled, slugged, and camped if the changes go through. It's just not going to be super duper easy like it is now.
-
Had a match earlier where I was with a couple other people cranking out the last gen and a Feng beelined towards us with both killers on her tail. The selfishness is crazy. She went down anyway, but she wasn't on death hook and escaped. So what was the point of delaying us? People really don't think.
-
No. I don't believe in DCing and can count on one hand how many times I've intentionally DCed, but I think this issue is overblown and over discussed. My killer matches have about 5% of my opponents DCing. That's not an epidemic. People will just suicide out more. They'll bring luck offerings, AFK, slam pallets, chase the killer, etc. If people want to stop playing, they will. I'd rather them just leave and become bots instead of sabotaging the game. Bots are at least useful.
The one-DC-per-day idea that people like doesn't make sense either. Different people play different amounts. I've played more than 30 matches today. The game booted me out of one, so there's a my daily DC. If I had another server disconnect, I'd get a penalty. You can also get stuck in matches with cheaters, not to mention life stuff.
-
I've mostly been playing Guide cause it meshes with how I play 1v4 and I'm so naive it hadn't occured to me that this is why chases keep coming to my gens lol. I think Guide and Scout are the most important roles though, so it's worth it. Gen auras and killer auras are a winning combo.

im not saying wesker is really strong, but he has good tunnel potential cause of his infection. Wouldnt it be better if they also toned it down and buffed him in other ways? Never did i ever mention in my posts that hes OP, im strictly talking about tunneling
yet im getting downvoted..
Potential or actuality? Because I almost never go against hard tunneling Weskers. What's the scenario? If he tunnels you while you're still injured, the grab isn't much different than an M1. If you've had time to heal, it's probably not true tunneling, unless you were instahealed right off hook with healing perks, and the infection still has to build up again. If you use a spray while still injured off hook and broadcast your location, that's just a dumb move.
I just don't see much of an issue with the infection reseting. It's more of a slowdown to send you off on a secondary task than anything else, and a pretty mild one compared to other killers' slowdowns, like Pig's RBTs or Plague's perma-injured infection.
I honestly don't care if they got rid of the post-unhook infection though. Like I said, it's a pretty mild effect. I'd gladly trade it for his third dash from 2v8 since I'd rather him be a genuine high mobility killer (if for no other reason than lore accurarcy).

Said the person with a wesker pfp
Okay? I have more hours with him by far but only a 60% KR. That's lower than almost all the other killlers I've put time into, who generally range from high 60s to low 80s. I play him because he's fun and he's a character I like, but he's actually bringing my numbers down. He's not a super easy OP killer.
-
Wesker is fine. With the exception of some issues when he slams into windows and doesn't get a hit or a vault, he's probably the gold standard for a balanced and fair killer. His power is much harder to land than Krasue just hitting you in head form. The first aid sprays also act way faster than the mushrooms—and the chests aren't as in the open as the mushrooms—so it's easier to get rid of ouroboros. I'll go against a Wesker over a Krasue any day.
-
Ranged killlers are hard. I can't hit a bot that's standing in a corner with Trickster. Huntress and Deathslinger are only marginally better. It's kinda infuriating because I came to dbd from shooters and I have decent precision, but not in this game. Nurse and Billy are also tricky, but I've got a buddy who's great with both Billy and Huntress. It's doable, it's just how much effort and practice you want to put forth.
I haven't really had any noticeable trouble with any of the other killers that I've played.

I mean, the whole mode is basekit perks, since there aren't actual perks. It's just a matter of which ones to use in which classes.

I'd do it for free myself if I could!
I can't tell you how many times I've felt this way about all the typos, grammatical errors, and just plain cringe writing I've see in this game.
-
I play on console and I usually feel disadvantaged against PC players, but dodging is pointless. Almost everyone has the globe for me so there's no way for me to know if they're on PC or another console in lobby, and I'd never find a match with just console user unless I land a 4man as killer.
In-game, I can tell by the way people move if they're using kbm or controller. Certain killers are very difficult on controller too, so I don't even bother trying. I've seen some great console players in both roles though. It's possible, but it's harder. Crossplay was necessary but not very fair.

@Memesis said:
A base-kit kindred (no killer aura) in 2v8 would be so nice, but I wonder if it would be too strong. I say this because in 2v8 there is almost always someone of the 8 currently caged during the match. You would have constant aura reading of your team, and by extension constant knowledge of where both killers are if you watch for chase behaviors amongst your teammates. Maybe that wouldn't be the biggest deal and would probably help queue times, but I don't know.
They could remove the aura read from Scout class to compensate.
But I also appreciate your faith that the field of potatoes that is 2v8 survivors will make any deductions about anything. More likely, I imagine they'll all see one person going for the save and decide alls good, only for that one person to get cut off and the caged person goes second/dies because no one else was nearby.

dbd players have always been mentally unhinged. its because this game, when it doesn't provide serotonin, produces in the moment rage which is normally a "think it don't say it" sort of thing but in this game we seem to like dwelling on our last matches and make posts about it so we get all the unfiltered emotions. the mods are truly front line workers having to sift through all that.
Honestly always amazed at knee-jerk rage-out posts that are clearly made because of one or two bad matches. Like every thought someone has doesn't need to be a whole post in the official forum. Wait a few hours, process, and see if you really think the post is necessary.

If they make it 10x BP I'll play survivor only and not even touch killer. That'll lower the times.

Problem for many is that DBD is like a drug.
You played some games with friends, had a good time and you are craving this feeling. The feeling to 4k a team which is much better than you or the feeling that your friends say it´s impossible to counter the Killer while you are doing the best outplays humnaity have ever seen.
They go into the game, don´t get the feeling get miserable but still chasing this feeling.
This is me. I'm mostly unhappy or frustrated with this game yet I continue to log on every night to hunt for those increasingly rare highs. Playing with friends is pretty much the only time I'm happy anymore, and that's less and less common.

Doesn't surprise me, someone apparently made a video [featuring or specifically about, don't know which] one of the users on this forum, ridiculing them for their "survivor sided" opinions, which led to them getting a harassing message recently. People have been getting extra unhinged lately, on all sides
My recent theory is that the seeming uptick in ridiculous attitudes is a product of the FNAF chapter bringing in younger, less mature players who are also less used to the type of multiplayer game where you're expected to stay through a whole match, but I also admit I have no evidence for that and it's just vibes, so take that with a healthy pinch of salt
Oh whoa what??
You know, I often wonder how many lurkers are here. This place doesn't seem big enough for all that, there are only so many really active members. Yet I see it referenced a lot in the few other social media places I wander into.

god that annoys me even when I see it as killer. I think the issue is from the lack of MMR in 2v8. The mode is kinda balanced around half the team having no thumbs so you may have been cosmically unlucky and got a really bad team. I'm not sure perks can fix this.
When this happens in my 1v4 killer matches, I camp until the survivor can unhook, especially if it's a ratting situation. I hate bad teammates, even when it benefits me. I wish I could do something in 2v8. During the last iteration, I had a Nea that was an absolute juicer. Won several chase with me until I finally got her towards the end. I passed by her cage a few times as she went from first stage to second to dead. It bothered me enough to remember it.
I think the reason for so much bad playing is a mixture of low-hour players (of which there's a ton of, for some reason) and play-while-you-wait killers who don't care about the survivor role at all and dont care what happens. So yeah, idk what can fix it, aside from keeping extremely low-hour players with each other.

Actual stuff of villian origin stories
Every time I'm pushed to the edge a moment of healing arrives to subdue the evil thoughts and keep the villainy at bay:

Look at this depressing image:
They're all either one or no hooks. All are uninjured. No one on a gen. No one in chase. And I watched them stand, creep, and tbag while I died.
Will aura fix it? Maybe not, but it sure won't hurt.

Because they're probably not going to, especially for all the tiny reasons that get tossed around. Any little change that happens and the drama queens are unleashed. People think if they spam these threats it'll make BHVR act. But if you're still bothering to complain about every little thing, then you're still invested. If I were to quit this game, I wouldn't make some obnoxious announcement for the internet. I'd just slowly drift away, like many of the friends I've made have already done.

I had a feeling this would get posted after I watched it and knew I was going to be late replying to it because of a busy Friday, but here goes:
It has a bad premise, especially because he talks about times he was okay with survivors DCing. It makes it sound like 'I as a Content Creator thought it was okay, but now that my Content Creator issues have been fixed, everyone else is just entitled."
Running through some things
Talking about dangling the carrot - he is aware the last PTB didn't actually go through, right? People are talking about survivors getting what they want like the last PTB wasn't yanked out after primarily killer complaints. I think we're seeing a lot of people have regret about the 9.2 PTB because they thought they could stop anything from happening. BHVR was going to give the survivors something, they tried a complex give things to both sides, and when that was shot down they went for the simple approach.
And we still have no idea what is actually going to happen.
More likely to see - watch SWF streams, or just really good loopers, and you'll see lots of rage quitting from killers.
Pallet density - its funny, survivors ask for anti-tunnel, BHVR gives them more pallets, and then people wonder why they aren't happy. Well, it wasn't what they asked for. It'd be like when killers complain about certain killers being not strong enough, if survivors responded with 'you just got Ghoul, be happy'. That has nothing to do with the person's original complaint.
MMR - the system has problems, but his argument is inaccurate.
If you lose, and lose, and lose - I like how this always seems to just apply to killers. Survivors literally are designed to lose more frequently, but somehow this doesn't result in them always running the sweatiest things or forming 4 person SWFs. People keep claiming this shift to all S tier killers is going to happen, but it doesn't.
Killers haven't got anything, killer rates have gone down - if you're not colorblind, sure, but killers are getting one of the most heavily requested changes with the scratch marks. It might not effect you the specific player, but in terms of an overall buffs to everyone who plays killer it is pretty substantial.

So i just beg you before you downvote me, take your time and write an answer to my question, "what in your opinion do survivors need to feel winable for you"@AmpersandUnderscore did a good job answering this, the issue isn't winnable. It's why many survivors have loved the abandon option, they accepted the match isn't going to be in their favor, they just want losing to not be so incredibly boring. Survivors certainly have balance complaints, but their primary argument has been about gameplay that has just been extremely bad.

I've had 3 people DC in my last 25 killer matches. That's 3 out of 100 players. 3%. So him saying he has them every other match or so seems a bit abnormal. At a rate of 3%, its quite possible that 1 or maybe even 2 of those was a just an internet problem or something else outside of the game.

But some of that is either just
1: Bad survivor play, which is an issue in all games, but as an asym this hits one side more than the other.
2: Playing for hatch, which despite many community complaints, is still a position backed and supported by BHVR.
I went and looked through my notes for my last 90 matches, just to expand on this, and had 19 DCs out of 90 matches, 350 opponenets. That brings it up to 5%. Still a pretty small number, especially with this people-DC-every-match tale that gets told around here a lot.
I also have a KR of about 85% for the month so it's not like I'm doing terrible and that's why no one DCed. Many of these were hopeless matches and 4Ks at 5gens. Yet the rate is still pretty low.
