It's pretty hard to judge by the numbers alone because they don't show how the chase ended. Were you downed or did you escape? Did the chase actually end or did it just register that way becuase you made distance, even though the killer was still pursuing you? Did you waste enough time in the right area for key gens to get done? My longest chase for the last 30 days is 1 min 8s but I couldn't tell you what happened there. For all I know, it was a friendly killer I was farming with. Or I might have dragged the killer all over the map, startling everyone off their gens and achieving nothing. I wouldn't worry so much about time as a sole factor.

Buddy… Guy… Gen regression has been pretty much gutted all the while the most common perk type to release or get buffed on survivor is gen progression lmao. The pace of the game doesn't allow for 12 hooking on certain characters. Which honestly I myself am bugged by I LOVE Hex Builds and stealth builds BUT, the current pace of the game doesn't allow for that unfortunately. When 2-4 gens aren't popping in the first 2 to 2 and a half minutes I'm facing squads of people who's whole goal is to harass the killer player and try to make them miserable. Like this game has the potential to be great but, the devs need to know how it feels to play both sides to do that and they clearly don't because they keep doubling down on gen progression.
Gen regression has been pretty much gutted
Pop Goes the Weasel - buffed.
Ruin - buffed.
Turn Back the Clock - popular new regress perk.

Just see some videos of pro killers,

That's very true about the agency between the survivors and the killers. I'm also going to give killer a try, thank you for the suggestion!! Honestly I feel like playing something other than survivor for now haha
I've always bounced back and forth with this game. Started as an only-killer player, switched to mostly survivor for a bit, got to about 50-50 and now I'm steering back towards killer. It's a lot more interesting if you switch it up. The nice thing about this game is that if you don't like the state of one role there's a whole different one available.

I completely agree and believe you. And fair enough, I do feel like everyone has different games. I just seem to be unlucky currently. I'm not looking for arguements, mainly validation as I want to know if I'm alone in this or not. And being honest, I'll most likely swap to killer as you suggested because the survivor role is also becoming a bad spot for me too.
Killer has really been a much better experience for me lately. I have full agency and comeback potential, and I get to decide the vibe of the match. I can go hard or soft, give hatch or not, meme or be serious. That agency is lacking in survivor, where I'm getting hit on hook or humped or bled out and there's nothing i can do. I feel like the toxicity and nastiness from a lot of killer players has gotten steadily worse since the failed anti-cheese ptbs, as has the tendency to give up from survivors, and I'm losing my patience for other people's bad behavior controlling what sort if time I'll have.
Matchmaking has been exceptionally wonky too. When I pay surv, every other or third killer is a p100 yet my teammates have 200 hours.

What data do you have that killers quit anymore than survivors do?

Difference with solo queue and swf, you can actually communicate in an swf whereas in solo queue you cannot. And also I find less killers who would slug or tunnel when in an swf whereas in solo queue, it's common.
I promise you I get tunneling, camping, and slugging in my SWF matches every time I play in a party. There's no difference except possible attempts to counter, and those can happen in solo too.
Survivor, as a whole, has been in a particularly bad spot for me personally for the last few months. Half of it is bad teammates, the other half is how killers decide to act. I'm playing survivor less and less. I have about 300 killer matches for the last 30 days and have been iri 1 for several days now. I'm not even at half that amount for survivor. BHVR doesn't want to help the role and the players won't self-regulate, so playing killer is the more appealing option.

I don't really understand this whole argument that is being had here.
This stuff only will bother you if you let it. I started as a killer main and yeah I have my bad days where a survivor T bagging or what not. But at the end of the day it was because I, myself let their actions affect me. Guys come on, grow some thicker skin.
Good luck trying to convince this playerbase not to be emotional about literally anything.
-
I was using SP, Iron Will, and Lucky Break last night and I'm far from a rat. I was intentionally baiting hits then loosing the killer to waste their time, protecting teammates that were on gens. I won quite a few solo matches because of it. Almost all my escapes were 3 or 4 outs. You can absolutely use stealth perks for team assists.

Have to admit that if you give up on first hook the match is noway on killers side. You can win any match in any situation it depends on what happens in the match. I have seen way many times people to throw matches that are totally winnable just because they get unlucky at the start.
As killer you can win any match in any situation, but not survivor. I've never once seen a survivor team recover from everyone being on death hook with 5 gens up. That's why there's so much more discontent on the survivor side. Comebacks are bordline impossible. I never feel hopeless as killer but when I play survivor I can generally tell if the match is lost a minute or two in just by assessing my teammates behavior and the killer's. It's why so many people give up. It's become predictable if you've been playing long enough.
As for giving up on first hook, it happens in my killer matches a lot, and I usually assume it's because the person either sees the writing on the wall or they've had a string of bad matches and this one is already off to a bad start. I had a match a few days ago where a Sable went down 20s into the match and DCed. Next person I found DCed after I injured them. Third one DCed after a couple gens got done. People feel hopeless and they leave. Punishments aren't going to help with that.

Increase penalties and at the same time actually take action against reports of unsportsman-like behavior and throwing and these people either play or get banned. It works and makes better game communities when problematic people are removed properly, but nothing is enforced in this game.
It should be clear by now BHVR need to take serious action against the people that refuse to play the game and throw. But again this is BHVR…
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4065773#Comment_4065773
You aren't going to change these people's mentalities, they are like this and that isnt going to change, its not a problem anyone can fix. If they refuse to play the game (and ruin it for others) they should be harshly punished for it and eventually just outright banned. We don't want these people infesting the game and the only thing that will make any difference is severe action against them.
Punishing people because they had a bad run and are facing their tenth loss of a session or something isn't helpful to the game. Neither is banning your players. People have bad moments, especially in a game where the match is often decided in the killers favor 1 minute in. We could just try to make the game more rewarding and less frustrating but God forbid we change a single thing that could infiringe on the killer power trip fantasy. They can't even update mediocre perks or mechanics without the CCs and all their zombie followers crashing out daily.

Honestly when I play killer I don't really bother with the crows. When they fly up they disappear in seconds and even if i see one land, it's old info. And that's if I even notice in the first place, normally I'm paying attention to other stuff.
They can be useful if you run spies from the shadows, gives noise notification when a surv scares a crow nearby. I don't often run it anymore but back when I started playing killer it was my go to location perk before I unlocked decent aura reads. Tbh it's a slept on perk, it's very tough to call it from the survivor side, and it gets around stuff like distortion and other aura read prevention.
Yeah same. I don't have time to look at birds unless there's people ratting and not doing gens. I'm usually a little too busy for that.
-
I'd much prefer people DC and leave a bot but there's penalties for that, and people keep asking for more penalties, so players will AFK or suicide out instead. It happens everytime i play killer and I just ignore them. They'll usually reengage at some point when they realize I'm not sending them back to the lobby.

I really want more help for survivor. I personally think the role is in a bad place for the average player. But I'm going to be very out of character and give this a hard no. I think Elusive was a great idea as a post unhook protection. It should be included in the basekit BT for 15s. That would be a perfect use for the concept. But it becoming an element of perks is really concerning, particularly one's like Extrasensory Perception that you can trigger on demand.
As a killer who is against tunnelling but uses aura to find a new target fast, if everyone starts hiding their presence and negating my build (especially the unhooker, in a case like Come and Get Me), you're leaving me with just the one target I can see: the recently unhooked. I think killers are really going to pay for not allowing the ptb changes to go through (with modifications) if we keep seeing Elusive in perks. I also really don't want to switch to these agonizingly boring anti-gen builds everyone uses, but if my aura read ones become non-viable, what am I supposed to do?

What has tunneling got to do with anything. the OP stated ENDGAME only not the entire game. During the game 15 second endurance is fine nothing wrong with it. The main issue is you hook a survivor in end game, they get unhooked and they have invincibilty frames long enough to just escape. A unhook in endgame should still carry risks. You have taken what ive said and looked at it from a purely hatred of killer point of view.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4064878#Comment_4064878
How on earth does this reward tunneling? A killer who has to hardcore tunnel in a game won't be able to get a kill in end game anyway as they usually suck at outplaying survivors and if they are that good it won't even get to end game. Also my idea means less survivors left = more endurance. This means a killer who tunnels out actually gets punished more in end game rather than one that doesnt. Really what my idea shows is im saying give survivors a BUFF in endgame if there are already dead survivors. meaning a buff to survivors if a killer tunnels.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4064785#Comment_4064785
I like the idea of linking it to hooks but it means behaviour has to 100% define what tunnling is and that will not be what the larger communty sais it is.
As a killer you can hook survivor 1, hook survivor 2, then re-hook survivor 1 because they decided to get in the way or do something dumb and your called a tunneler. Or survivors will aggressivly use there basekit BT for a hit then cry because you had no choice but to hit them and at that point why not take the kill. That aint tunneling thats the survivor being an idiot. Again really like the idea of reducing the endurance time based on unique hooks (maybe 1 second less for each unique hook meaning worse case 2 people left is 5 seconds) but then you will just get complaints that this is unfair as killers will, and i quote an actual team i went against, Tunnel the entire team.Really what my idea shows is im saying give survivors a BUFF in endgame if there are already dead survivors.
How is it a buff if the max you want is 15s and it's already 15s?
You're saying you play 90% killer and you're being objective while also calling everyone who thinks the current state is fine a survivor and everyone who doesn't a killer, so you’re just projecting you're own biases onto the other responses. Some people play both roles.
You're talking about fairness but there's no such thing in this game. Killers can camp and tunnel all match. They can slug multiple people in end game in quick succession. A botched save can land a killer, especially a ranged one, multiple downs as is. We're gonna have to change the whole game if we want it to be fair, and that will never happen because even something as minor as an extra 5s of BT is a problem.
-
I use Lethal and I've had a few spawns closer than normal but nothing super extreme, like spawning right on top of one another.

@albertoplus said:
I want to assume that people saying that if the survivors were alive after 5 gens pop then that means the killer did badly and they dont deserve the "pity kill" are also the same people who would agree to remove hatch entirely and the gates powering up after it is closed (they should only power up with all gens completed).
The hatch and the doors powering up with gens still uncompleted gives survivors the oportunity of a pity escape. If all the survivors but one were dead before the 5 gens got completed that means the survivors did badly and they dont deserve their pity escape at all.
If you want to escape, keep playing and try as hard as you can to complete the last gens, open the gate and escape.
You're saying "survivors," plural, but it's "survivor," singular. If the hatch spawns there's one survivor left. The killer has already won the match. The hatch is probably the only thing keeping already frustrated players from DCing or abandoning a lot of matches.
The killer has all the advantages with hatch. Even the slowest killers can move around faster than a survivor, who will probably sneak about even slower than usual. The killer also gets to decide if hatch will even spawn, since many slug for the 4k. It's impossible for a single survivor to do multiple gens by themselves with the killer having nothing to do but look for that one person.
Saying someone played badly because they're randomly assigned team died is unfair, especially with the amount of sandbagging in this game. Survivors are four individual people who aren't all of the same skill level. The last one left is often the best in my killer matches because I'm not gonna waste a whole bunch of time chasing a juicer. They can have the hatch if they find it first.
-
Just had this one a few days ago. I tried to M2, it didn't work, and I got stuck at slow speed. Was scared for a moment I'd be that way the whole rest of the match. It was kind of a relief when it disconnected instead.
https://youtu.be/J4eCUVymmD4It often seems to happen when some sort of action is performed. Last time it happened I was kicking a gen, this one it was the M2. Or maybe it's because I'm performing the action when I'm in the process of being booted. I've had others where a survivor I'm chasing just starts running into a wall. Every single time it's when I'm winning too.
I've yet to ever get a DC penalty from these, even when they're in short proximity to one another, which makes me think the problem isn't on my end.
-
Glad I saw this so I won't panic next time I turn my Deck on.
-
Bots need buffs, not nerfs. They're horrible at chase. Most killers instatunnel them out with no trouble. I have zero trouble with bots as a ranged killer.
-
Maybe we can wait more than a day of live to doom and gloom? It remains to be seen if people even use the new perk over Windows.
-
Looking forward to a new map and prestige rewards but I will l be playing killer exclusively for a minute because a bunch of back-to-back Tricksters is my actual nightmare.
-
I've been soloing lately because no one wants to touch survivor anymore and the tone has been steadily getting worse, particularly since the failed anti-cheese ptbs. The matchmaking has been particularly horrendous, which makes matches feel terrible. I usually know a survivor match is a wash a minute or less in. To make it worse, I'm getting humped and hit on hook every time I play. Very often, these are matches where survivors also threw out of frustration, so it's doubly terrible. I don't know why there's been such an uptick in unwarranted crappiness. I'd really like to enjoy both sides of this game, but I'm currently only playing survivor for the iri grade, and I stop the moment I'm ranked up. Though I do exactly the same percentage-wise in SWF, the experience is just far better with friends to talk to.
Part of what your experiencing may also be mini-burnout. Once you hit a certain amount of hours and the charm wears off, you'll likely start to see the issues with the game emerge and no longer roll with the punches so well. I feel there's a kind of threshold people hit—that tends to be anywhere around 1k to 3k hours—where the charm wears off and people either stick around or the taper off.
As for Henry, I can say as someone who's played him almost exclusively since he's come out, he's very manageable if you know what you're doing. Hold W, break LoS, move erratically, don't cling to walls or checkspots. My KR with him is the same as most of the killers I play regularly, but I've never had so many 0ks on a killer. Good players who prerun with exhaustion and know how to move against him wreck me.

The point I'm trying to make is not "bad killers should still get kills". It's to point out the hypocrisy of "if 2+ survviors die before X gens are done its tunnneling and is bad and shouldn''t be possible but on the flip side gen rushing isn't real and if a killer cant get a kill before X gens are don they're trash". Or to simplify it even further
"If a survivor dies before gens are powered they got tuneled and BHVR needs to fix it because that's BS"
vs"If a killer fails to get a kill before EGC they're trash, even if they're spreading hooks, BHVR should make it even harder for killers to secure a kill"
This is a really biased generalization that lacks any kind of nuance. No one said all survivors should be alive when gates are powered. Most people agree that a killer hard tunneling someone out at 5gens is scummy and bad for the game. If you've been spreading hooks all game but don't have a kill by end game, you'd likely get at least one because the survivor already has a hook state or two. I win a lot of my matches in end game because everyone generally has hooks and they're often injured. Even matches where I played God awfully bad I still regularly win in end game.
On the other hand, if I'm playing survivor and a teammate is dead at 5 gens up, there's pretty much nothing I can do. I'm just trapped in a lost match. The situations just aren't the same, nor is the balance of power. One side can easily flip the script while the other generally can't.

He didn't say that. Even as a paraphrase that is wrong. Saying you don't want to play the game for how bugged it can be is feedback as an objective fact. If it wasn't we wouldn't have legit LISTS for killers that have several gameplay impacting bugs. The delivery might not be wholesome chungus 100 but feedback is still feedback.
And as I'm looking more into it there's yet ANOTHER photosensitivity bug that I just found out about where there will be just a random solar flare on screen thats been reported all the way back from LAST YEAR FEBUARY and is still going on today and from the sound of it, it's spreading to other maps when it used to be 99% isolated to Dead Dawg.First, they're just randomly saying they encountered a bug with no further context. It doesn't even say which killer or what bug. Second, the implication with "balance team consisting now of players who occassionally play survivor" is that there's some anti-killer bias to bugs being in place for extended periods which is just an outrageous take. It's also got the classic BHVR-doesn't-play-their-own-game implication with the "occasionally", because this community of people who can't write a complete, punctuated sentence know more than the people who make the game.
I don't know why you'd choose to defend something not just completely non-constructive but with added pointless bias. Bugs are an issue, obviously, but this post ain't it.

"Game bad dev hate killer" is not feedback of any use.

So I can’t use Word after all? You’d rather have a plain, huge block of text? And you won’t accuse me later of “going to all that trouble for nothing—no one’s going to read a block of text like that”? OK, so starting with this comment, I promise to post a blank block of text—and please, no complaints.
Sorry for the downvote—it was a misclick. No one said it needed to be poorly presented. Indents and punctuation have made for ease of reading since time immemorial. Breaking things into segments with bullets and numbers isn't the typical, average writing format. It looks like AI. In a time when everyone is slowly forgetting how to write for themselves (you can see both AI slop and people of substandard writing ability in the forum at any given moment), if you don't want to be accused of it, then don't do.

I haven't had a lot of time with the chat but I love it. I love the friendly talk just as much as the trash talk. First chase was 2 different people got one down on a scourge hook 20% loss progress on gens and still 2 gens done at 1:19 then I go into my next chase get a down and they get someone off hook plus finish 2 gens in that time, ok so I'm too focused on one survivor is your idea, so then lets say I get off that guy I'm chasing and go somewhere else now they hop on gen and the outcome is the same simply because gen speeds are just too fast. I'm done going back and forth, 4 gens done in 3:02, if it's 90 seconds a gen that's 6 minutes of gen time and they did double that while rescuing 2 survivors off hooks.
I see it when I'm survivor too we laugh at killers because of how fast we're doing gens when we add the toolbox with the brand new part it's even faster. I'm honestly disgusted that you guys think this is a skill issue and not a balancing issue. A lot of other people see it and are trying to raise awareness on the issue but for whatever reason there's a group of people here who just don't want to admit it I guess you must be survivor mains that likes quick and easy matches and killers quitting every second game but there is a lot of us who don't and we're seeing it more frequently and I'm certainly feeling it more frequently as a killer where I'm just like oh well may as well quit and go play 10 quick survivor matches to avoid the matchmaking lock.
There is a definitive generator speed problem you can't ignore no matter how much you want to wish it away, no matter how much you want to make excuses or call it a skill issue, if killers are quitting left and right it's a problem, if as a survivor you can't admit that gens are too fast you are part of the problem that is plaguing this game. Instead of nerfing the OP super fast killers like blight and nurse they buffed generator speeds to make it easier for survivors to escape it isn't hard to see which makes it way harder to almost near impossible for M1 killers to do anything at all unless you're tunneling which is why you're seeing a rise of complaints about tunneling killers and you're going to continue to see this trend until the issue is addressed.
You said gens don't get done so fast with your full gen build and now you're saying you laugh at how fast you get gens done. Which is it? And why are you criticizing gen speeds while running a gen build? I run 2 gen perks and a stacked toolbox when I'm not soloing which is exactly why I don't complain about gen speeds as killer. And yet I still win more as killer (with little to no antigen perks) and lose more as survivor so it doesn't seem to matter much. Most killers are running multiple slowdowns while most survivors are running one gen perk, maybe.
Survivor mains who? I've got over 200 killer matches for the last 30 days. Survivor is miserable and I barely want anything to do with it. If it wasn't for the desire to be full iri every season I'd drop the role. There's nothing indicating killers are leaving the game anymore than survivors are. People crying on the internet is as old and unreliable as the internet itself.
If you want to make a whole thing about this one match that you have a video of then post it.
Instead of nerfing the OP super fast killers like blight and nurse they buffed generator speeds to make it easier for survivors to escape
The only thing that's happened to gen speeds is they increased from 80s to 90s. If you mean perks, Ruin was buffed and Turn Back the Clock has been a popular new regression perk. The new teamwork gen perks have been much less seen in my matches.
