In 1:19 there were two gens done, at 3:02 four gens were done. I have the video, so then what you're telling me is that I was going against cheaters who were using some kind of gen rush hacks?
Okay so how long was the chase? Two people were probably on one gen and possibly joined the third on their gen. And from 1:19 to 3:02 is 103s. That's just a normal amount of time to finish gens if you're undisturbed, which two people clearly were.
Why not post the video?

His argument is also flawed to state Oni being the fastest when Oni without power is just normal M1 killer and some survivors can loop the killer a long time before you get the hit.
I had a match yesterday where the match was over in little bit under 7 minutes killer got one kill. Guy was tunneling and the survivor he chose to tunnel looped him for five gens in his whole three hook cycle. He was the only one who died. This is a good example of a match where killer was not doing any pressure on gens. Nobody of other three including me had any gen perks or toolboxes.
Yeah I really think the time judgement is rough for people. I also over commit but when I hear three gens pop in quick succession, I don't go, "Oh no the gen speeds are too fast!" I say, "Well, I screwed up." And once you over commit that hard there isn't much else you can do. I had a bad run last night and had five 0ks playing a strong killer that I'm decent with. Looking at my stats, they're all 8 to 10 minutes long. It was me that messed up, it wasnt the game.

What makes you think that I think I'm entitled, I'm telling you as survivor I've watched killers quit my games repeatedly tonight more than three times, 4 gens in 3 minutes? I get into a chase what am I suppose to do then just leave them be to keep hitting a gen run to another gen to run back and hit the same gen again? Come on now.
Four gens done in 60s with two Deja Vus and no toolboxes? That's not possible, even if you're AFK. Gens are 90s. Deja Vu takes off like 5s. You're misjudging the time.
I get into a chase what am I suppose to do then just leave them be to keep hitting a gen run to another gen to run back and hit the same gen again?
If you can't catch who you're chasing quickly, yes. Especially since, ya know, hitting people is how Oni gets in power. Once you get it, you get speed and instadowns.
-
What nerfs has Oni had that caused this? You're saying yourself it doesn't get done that fast when you play survivor with a gen build, so you don't think the problem might be on your end as killer? When I have gens popping around me fast. I know I blew it. I didn't choose the right gens to patrol or apply pressure properly. I didn't manage my time well. You said you chose the fastest killer in the game but it still wasn't enough. That sounds like they just outdid you.
And using one match where you didn't get a kill is a pretty small sample. I lose plenty of matches too. You're not supposed to win them all, nor are you automatically entitled to a kill every match.

Otz proposed that they're promoting certain maps in an attempt to boost sacrifice rates, which have been falling pretty badly for many Killers. You make maps that are bad for Survivors show up more, you artificially inflate some Killers' probability of success.
Me getting every third match on Badham is doing the opposite of boosting my KR.
-
I've seen maybe 10-15 total and the experience is rarely enjoyable so I'm fine with things as they are.
-
I've never gotten one and I've often wondered why, because I regularly have two server disconnects within 10 to 20 matches of ones another. They show up as 0ks on my stats too, but the penalty never happens.

It's getting old. I don't think I've seen Ormond Resort in 300+ matches.

I don't know where or what mmr you play but I played 28 survivor matches today and had no survivor to go from 1st hook to dead on one hook. Few ones that went to two hook stages on one hook usually because of situation not because survivors left them there. Its not common and just to point out even if they would have that 4% chance to try unhook themselves is still totally unlikely to be able to unhook yourself with it. Still you always have a way to get that chance to try just bring a luck offering that effects everyone and there you have it.
I really do love how everyone in this forum assumes their invisble MMR and uses it as leverage even with a matchmaking system that almost everyone agrees is trash. Nobody said anything about going from one hook to dead. Going second is not rare. It just happened in one of my last killer matches because the team prioritized the gens over their teammate.
-
@Wezqu said:
This is how its staying and have to admit matches been way better with less people "go-nexting". I would say its mostly fixed it well done behavior.
Idk if people being left to die/go second on hook is a great solution. It happens in a lot of my matches. People who want to go-next still can through luck offerings, and I have people trying to get me to kill them quicker every time I play killer. I wouldn't call that "fixed".
-
Play some story games to remember what you like about gaming. I've been amassing small, indie horror games and it's very refreshing when I make the time for it. PvP gaming doesn't make me feel great. Never has. I'd quit them a long time ago and came back, and even with DbD as the only one, I regret the choice. But games as a whole are worthwhile.
-
Happens to me all the time. Had two of them in a 10-match period the other day that counted as 0ks. Had another yesterday where I froze in place halfway through the match. That one didn't show up on the stats. It only ever seems to happen to me as killer, never as survivor.

The goal of auras in this situation isn't to get you into a chase, it's to improve your macro knowledge. It's the same reason that Gearhead is a good perk- it lets you know what generators are being worked on, and where the survivor's attentions are generally directed.
The best use of auras is to get you into a chase, but that doesn't mean it's the only use. Knowing what's going on is also very useful.
Exactly. I use aura add-ons on a lot of my killers, like Dredge's Lavalier Mic and Henry's Black Widow and I don't necessarily pursue whoever shows up, it's just let's me know who is where so i can monitor activites.

I'm curious how people are feeling, because I've noticed this trend of burnout on killers for a long time, and now I see that it's just beginning to accumulate more and more and become public among content creators
My personal opinion is that you've already seen it, I believe MMR is the cause of all this. People have already stopped ignoring it because they're completely fed up with it
In addition to this, I would also prescribe a boost to certain maps that can intensify this feelingAnd I just don't think people with a zillion hours and who have a financial stake in the game should be an example of anything. Of course you're gonna burnout when you play everyday and have an audience.
I don't see how this is a killer-specific issue either. Killer mains are just more vocal. I've had a lot of friends, just regular people, burnout on survivor. They just don't make a big deal about it; they quietly walk away. I myself am getting pretty frustrated with the role. The tunnelling and slugging are endless. The matchmaking is bad. I have to land a competent 3man just to have a chance. The BMing from killers has been off the charts on my server recently. I play two survivor matches and go back to killer. I really had to struggle to get my survivor Grade to iri I for this last season, and I'm about to have to do it again and I'm not sure I want to.
Meanwhile I'm currently fine with killer. I get worked up more, for sure, but I generally hover around a 70% KR while playing fair with no antigen and giving hatch when I think it's warranted. It's the role where you get to control the vibe of the match and I don't feel like I'm at anyone's mercy.
-
I'm not watching some CCs complain. Do you have your own views on the matter? Are you miserable? Or are we just parroting what people who make money off this game have to say?
-
So you want basekit BT nerfed back down AND completely removed in endgame so that end game saves are basically impossible? Generators now take 30s longer and killers can still bring four slow downs? Killers get no unhook notification if they're standing close enough to the hook to just see it with their eyes? And you want to make SWF, one of the reasons I and probaby many others even touch the role nowadays, unplayable because killer will always choose the odds of stomping solos? And high-skill players also now get built-in smurfing with random matchmaking.
Looking forward to my 90% KR and never playing survivor again.
-
Would be nice if keys showed chest auras too. I've been using them a bit lately and seeing a teammate rummage one of my open chests and then start healing themselves with a medkit they found gives me great satisfaction.

Well… and instant queue as killer means there's a lot of survivors. so therefore, survivors will have a longer queue. in order to get more players to play killer, you give them a BP bonus. (which will decrease survivor queue time) More killers play → killers will get a longer queue time and therefore the bonus goes away and then maybe survivors will get it as now they need more survivors to fill for the killers.
So the shorter queue time does get the bonus as they need more players to fill that role.
Yeah wait no I'm wrong. I'm not with it right now.

Yes, I understand. But in this case the killer queue is 2 minutes and also has the 2.5x blood point bonus, while survivor insta pops with no bonus.
Yeah, again, it has the bonus because it has the longer queue. The game needs more killers because there's a line, so there's a bonus to play killer. The longer queue gets the bonus. Why would you get a bonus for the one that is instant?

So in other words, scrapped.
In context, I think what Mandy is saying is that they want to see if better matchmaking helps with tunneling and slugging, since this was a response to a question about anti-tunnel and anti-slug. Those things are what's been shelved (sadly).
-
If there's a two minute queue on, say, killer, they want to get the number down, so the bonus is on the longer one to incentivize you to play that one. The role with the bonus is the one lacking players.

+ those Killers (aka the strong Killers) are also more likely to tunnel. Because obviously sweaty people who tunnel a lot will run the strong Killers as well.
I am running DS, but often enough it feels like a waste of a Perk Slot. And sadly we know that BHVR wants Killers to tunnel.
Yeah it really doesn't matter against a tunneling Blight. I've never once run it as survivor because I've chewed through people baiting me with it too many times. I've also often just slugged these people for being so obvious. So trying to waste the time of someone who spots the gimmick becomes a reversed time waste when teammates have to pick them up off the ground. It actually feels like it's a detriment to many players more than a help, if the killer-player isn't comatose.
-
Hard pass. The stun is too short. The amount of people that bait me into a DS grab just to get sniped a couple seconds later is comical. A killer with mobility or a ranged attack with even minor ability will not care about DS.

It's not completely their fault tbh, If only this game actually had tutorials that taught players what to do in these situations, they wouldn't complain about things in their control as much
This is true and we all want a better tutorial, but a little self reflection and personal responsibility should be possible too. Many of the chronic complainers have been playing for years. If you know a thing exists you should be thinking about how to work around it, not blaming everything but yourself when it doesn't go the way you want.

Not even slugging, just by regular ol gameplay the endgame is always killer-sided - survivors have far less resources available to them by the time endgame rolls around. Less pallets, less items, and typically less team mates. It's kind of mind boggling that OP claims that it was survivor-sided even prior to the 15s endurance. That sounds like a convenient way of ignoring their own performance during the rest of the game.
Every time I see these nerf-survivor posts complaining about something as minor as this I have to assume it's a player issue. All the things survivors were promised last year were ripped away, plus medkits nerfed on top (and I'm sure toolboxes are next), and people want something as minor as the 5s extra BT taken away too. It's the wanting survivors to spawn on the hook joke that never goes away.

The endgame is not really killer-sided. The game as a whole has just a bigger comeback chance for killer than for survivor. But the change is in theory higher before the endgame. Slugging midgame with no possible exits is far more effective (4-man-slugging is generally weak against decent survivor, so you would only try it desperately in endgame most of the time).
Less ressources make the killer obviously stronger, but the survivor gain the ressource exit gates + the whole map (if the gates have a good split). So the killer is at its strongest with one gen left.
That all said: survivor should have the advantage if they make it to endgame with 3/4 alive. One-hooking someone should not be possible. Pity-kills make no sense. Thats why the standard is good and special cases like Bubba etc shouldnt be the norm.
As others already said, I think it has a lot to do with your momentum. I had a match yesterday that was 20 grueling minutes. Three injured survivors on death hook trying to repair a last gen I could no longer regress, but could still use for Nowhere to Hide, and I had Nurse's Calling, so they couldn't safely heal. Gen gets done and I get one of them. Dead. I use an aura add-on to find one on edge map. Dead. I closed hatch at shack with the last one nearby. They ended up escaping solely because they'd found a key and I'm so unaccustomed to the rare clanking sound of hatch being opened it took me a second to register it and I didn't react fast enough. Good for them though. But they all worked hard to get that gen done and I still won.
But even in matches where I threw and got one hook I've still won. The big difference is killers can play awful and still win, while survivors have no such luxury. There's no way for a bad survivor team to just suddenly win after they were losing. And that's what I don't understand with this community. Some people want to perform poorly with the stronger role and still get freebies.

The slugging part isnt that great of a exsample if we are talking about m1 killer and nothing like noed or stbfl isnt in play. The wraith or clown can deal with catching up, the dreadge well he is whole rng and in endgame he is basicaly mad turkey that is just m1 killer who can hope some unlock locker will be nearby, killer being faster by 15% isnt that huge when there is bodyblocky and that killer doesnt have power which could help him to close distance fast or get injure fast or from range than he is cooked like ghostface, onryo (same as dreadge just she can hope for magic tv but fact is she is like one of best killers that can counter bodyblocks but that only works on longer distances where she can catch up which isnt so easy for 15 seconds only having 5% haste because killer gets 0,6 m/s on survivor normaly 115 speed killer but when he is unhooked killer only gets 0,2 m/s for 15 seconds which is 3 meters of distance that isnt much plus someone bodyblocking and its done).
The best way is to just be decided what you want at the start like you want hard tunnel or focus on two mainly to get kill faster or play casualy and dont care (option for strong minded people with iron will that dont mind salt from bigheaded survivors). I still dont thing endgame is whole killer sided because there is plenty of situations where killer doesnt have guarantee he will get kill or chance he will get more kills it just depends but its mostly just mirroring from the previous choices in the match like who he hooked etc..
Again, I don't think you deserve to win after playing like crap, nor do you deserve this one-kill pity prize that a lot of people feel entitled to for some mysterious reason. You lost. Accept it. You're not supposed to win every match.
Being killer-sided doesn't mean it's a garunatee but I win a huge chunk of my matches in endgame. If people are injured and out of position it's very easy to get multiple downs.
I don't know how "strong-minded" you need to be to not get tilted by chat or tbagging. You just need to be in emotional adulthood. And they're gonna talk whether you win or lose. Being trash talked is funny and it's never influenced how I play. I get BMed in both roles daily and I've yet to change.

End game can be sided for each side all that depends are circumstances like m1 killer with 4 people alive while he has one hooked and that hook isnt far from gate like 40 meters yeah if you tell me thats killer sided situation I would get all my answers, in that situation its basicaly very survivor sided if killer has not strong endgame build or survviors don screw up at that point but even noed can be easily countered on that high player count and 3 people can easily save one against m1 killer and bodyblock to the gate.
Its all depending on circumstances like huntress on larrys can hardly get that hook if they paly it well because 4,4 m/s killers are kinda cooked either they commit and basicaly gain no distance for 15 seconds just keep the same or they go for another survivor (spirit kinda breaks it but others can only in some situations but on indoor maps I doubt they have lot of options or chances when map is against them because most of 110 are ranged or like half of them).
I'm not talking about downing someone after a successful unhook. Like I said, you blew that match and they deserve their out. End game is, in the broad sense, killer-sided. Survivors can have zero hooks and the killer can still win by slugging everyone.
And even most M1 killers have something that let's them travel faster or better than survivors, whether it be speed elements like Wraith or Clown or teleports like Dredge.
-
End game being survivor-sided is an amazing take. I'll remember that next time I get two hooks all match and three kills in end game. As far as I'm concerned, if they can pull off the save they can have it. Saves are risky and can wipe a team if done wrong. You'd already basically lost if there's at least two people left to pull off the unhook.

3 gens popped as I killed him and the game was over too. Got zero kills because of that.
There are some really hard matches, for sure.
I do this every time I play lol. I pick the wrong target, overcommit, know perfectly well they're leading me away from the key gens being worked on, but still do it anyway. I'm at least aware that I'm throwing though, and I don't whine when I have a 90s chase and three gens pop. I have killers that DC when this happens and cry "genrush" but it was them that let me sit on a gen for 90s undisturbed.

If 5v5 were to happen, we'd need some way for Survivors to defend against the opposing Survivors. I can see groups of three pinning someone against a wall or something, and that would be bad...
No collison with opposing team?
But also, that would waste their time, and make them vulnerable to the other killer. Maybe also a way for the survivors to ping their killer if they need help. Like a distress sound and their aura revealed.
-
A 5v5 would be really interesting, particualry if each killer had to try to protect their group of survivors from the other killer. There's already a hint of this in 2v8, when one killer doesn't want a particular survivor to die and tries to bodyblock the other killer.
-
I give a lot of mercy hatch and let people go if there's a nasty bit of sandbagging but otherwise I'm not a memey killer. As survivor though, I'm ready to be goofy and make friends at any moment. Occasional friendliness amongst opponents is one of the things that makes the role and the game enjoyable.
-
I hit people coming out of Undergate maybe once every 5 to 10 times I do it. It's very dodgeable if you watch where the center will be. His vines are also very dodgeable. I've had many matches where I've gotten two or three hooks because good survivor can easily dodge and he is otherwise slow as hell. Holding W wrecks him.

Killer perks require you actually do something (mostly chasing, downing and hooking survivors which requires significant time investment) to actually use them. SB and Lithe do not require any real conditions and provide immense value on a relatively short cooldown for zero effort from survivors.
Stop treating killer perks like they are equal to survivor perks because they are not. Not to mention there isnt potentially four copies at once giving the same level of value, killers perks need to give 4x more than survivor perks as its 16v4 perks.
I don't even know why you're moaning about gen slowdown, in a world where you can easily get 30s free chase extensions every single chase per survivor which gives the other three survivors the equivalent time to do an entire generator just from that single perk. Its been garbage for awhile now which is exactly why people are stacking them to actually try get value from them because everything else also gets nerfed since we apparently arent allowed good chase perks either.
Killer perks that require zero actions from killers: Deadlock, Tinkerer, Human Greed, Territorial, Hex: Ruin, Cruel Limits, Haywire Corrupt Intervention, Lethal Pursuer, Discordance, Batteries Included, Bitter Murmur. That's just off the top of my head. There's probably a bunch more. Let's not pretend both sides don't get free stuff. At least SB and Lithe require you to use them correctly to not get downed anyway. These are all totally free, and some are very popular.
-
I thought when you hit p100 you'd no longer be able to use the bloodweb. It would just end there.

The tendencies have been there forever (i play since 2020 with bigger breaks in between), i think it's a core mechanic of this game to "suffer", but like Otz said in his latest video, the patience/ frustration tolerance goes down significantly after playing this game for a while.
That frustration is what we should be trying to mitigate with a shake up, but any effort to change this game is met with resistance, even though everyone complains about how unhappy they are. When the abandon was first announced they'd said there'd be rewards for sticking out hard matches. It never happened and nothing else was ever said, yet more abandon options were added and people keep asking for even more.

Yes, but I didn't have time to use them, because to activate them I have to go and kick the generator, which, unlike meta perks, is done passively, saving seconds
Regarding the trial in 3 minutes, I meant that if they had full repair builds, the game would have clearly ended faster
And yes, for now I am holding at 67% kill rate, but this does not cancel out that feeling when you just feel helpless, because everything goes too fast and you do not have enough time for all the actions
As I already wrote in one of my posts earlier, if I lose to -1 in 1 trial, then the next one I may well be against 4 players who don’t understand a damn thing about the game, which only increases my MMR and makes me suffer, because I’m still not very good at playing this killer, to put it mildly…We all have these same issues in both roles. The helpless feeling happens constantly in survivor too, when the killer gets so much momentum so fast that there's zero chance of recovery. I have people AFKing under hook and running up to me to die every time I play. I personally never feel that way as killer because I can still win in end game.
The MMR raising too quickly is a problem for everyone too. You go form getting the worst players you've ever seen to psychos, while feeling there's very little in between. It's a whole game issue, not just a killer issue.
I recently experienced this stomp:
I got two hooks. The solo had gen perks but that's not what blew it for me, it was being matched with three perkless anons that were probably high performers on a win streak, with a new killer I'm still learning (but doing decent with) and also on Badham. Matchmaking, the map, and my own lack of ability lost me this match.
-
It'd be cool if we could advocate for making comebacks possible or having matches feel meaningful regardless of winning and losing. The game is really in a sorry state if everyone wants to abandon two minutes in.

There is indeed a problem with repair efficiency, but it varies depending on:
- your skill level as a killer
- the map and its balance
- how smart the survivors are
- survivor builds
And these aren't even Gen Rush builds + toolboxes with BNPs, otherwise the game would have ended in 3-5 minutes
7 minutes = 420 seconds
Average chase time = 30 seconds
Each surv has 3 stages = 30 * 3 = 90
Total chases for all 4 is 12
Total chases per trial = 420 / 30 = 14
Extra 60 seconds for DS or DHI don't think those single perks did you in. You also had two anti-gen perks as well. I also. bring that dreaded Commodious toolbox with meta add-ons AND BtL to refill it, as well as Deja Vu, and I've never once won a game in 3 minutes. I still lose more than I win as surv, and I still win more than I lose as killer while running aura and undectable.
-
I haven't changed my build or my focus but I have lost hope in the role. The tunneling and camping have gotten worse and worse. I've also had a massive uptick in killer's BMing me for no reason. The only thing that makes survivor bearable is playing with friends, and nobody really wants to anymore. I've been playing solo to get my iri for the season and it's been horrendously bad. If I ever lose the compulsion for that big red one to match my killer rank, I could see myself mostly dropping the role. I'm happier playing killer.
And you're right, I've been playing as Henry almost exclusively since his release and I don't care about pallets. DS is useless. People bait me into a grab and I take the bait because I can just snipe them with vines immediately after the stun. New killers are strong and survivor got a measly 5s added to the basekit BT that does nothing except help in end game.

Those would be the worst case scenerios, maybe they can find a happy medium by cutting everyone into groups of hours/skill like new people that escape allot, go against new killers that kill allot, people who played for 7k hours but kinda suck would be paired together while the elites that want to win everytime get paired together etc. Because 2 categories to everyone playing are knowledge and skill, both are seperate.
I get those worse case scenarios pretty much every time I play. Those are both personal examples from the last week. Yesterday I had someone great with almost 8k hours. Next match was someone awful with less than 300. The matchmaking is way too loose as is. But they also need a system that accounts for more than just escapes and kills. Hopefully the MMR rework will tighten the brackets and sort people better.

That might also cause frustrations of its own eventually. Like imagine you go to play killer but because of your amount of hours, you will never have a decent casual round again as the only opponents you will ever recieve are people that will go all out every time. And then because you dont enjoy killer anymore u switch to survivor and get turbo tunneled every single round no breaks in between. Mixing the playtimes does seem to allow some breathing room but not always
I'm using hours as an example. I personally want people on the same level as me. I'd like to win some and lose some, but not stomp or get stomped. My most unfufilling matches are getting 4man slugged by psychoBlight in soloq or 4king at 5gens against players with 200 hours. I don't find either of these scenarios fair. People shouldn't be fodder for opponents with zero chance.

It needs more precise matchmaking. If the people with 300 hours that aren't too good get put together, great. If the decent 3k hour players get put together, great. If the 15k hour sweat players get put together, great. The frustration in many of my matches comes from these groups mixing together and that seems to be the case for many others as well, and it's hard to feel good about matches decided in the lobby.
But yeah, better regards would be nice. It's really a bummer when you get obliterated by people out of your league and you have no BP or pips or anything to show for it.

I'm not saying matchmaking is broken in that it's doing something it's not supposed to
You said that match making is putting highly skilled killers against Noob teams. That is saying match making is doing something its not supposed to.
I'm not saying matchmaking is broken in that it's doing something it's not supposed to, I'm saying it's a bad system that prioritizes speed and engagement over quality. This isn't groundbreaking info. Search the forums. The same views get repeated over and over in regards to the matchmaking, and it's one of the only regular topics that lacks role-based bias.
But where’s the data? This goes back to what I said earlier about flawed popular opinions being driven by emotion.
The idea that the matchmaking topic isnt role biased doesn’t really make sense when everyone is in the same system. Survivors and killers both go through it.
Do you think matchmaking somehow gets a pass when neither side does? Everyone complains about it, just like players complain about survivor or killer whenever they lose.
There will always be something people blame when a match doesn’t go their way, even when the data doesn’t support it. A lot of the time it just comes down to ego.
People go down these rabbit holes trying to force an explanation that justifies the loss, digging deeper and deeper until it feels like it makes sense. In reality, it’s just biased perception.
The data is in their database, that's where. And they haven't been very talkative about the system in recent times. Ever since Peanits stopped being involved in the forum there have been a lot of issues and requests for clarity met with silence. Some months ago we had some commotion about how survivor personal stats are inflated by abandons, with direct appeals for clarification and explantion, over the course of several lengthy posts and we got nothing. Any unannounced changes to the MMR system would be unknown to us. I'm hoping whatever they unveil for the new system will come with a transparent understanding of how it works.
Reread. I said the topic lacks role-based bias. The only time I see skewed views in this matter are from the people who are positive that they're upper MMR yet complain about how impossible the game is everyday. This is just ego and an inability to either accept you're not as good as you think you are, or you want a 90% KR instead of an 80% or some such numbers. There are people here who are perpetually miserable and do nothing but repeat the same complaints over and over.
We are, again, in agreement about lack of personal responsibility. But still, the game isn't perfect. Things need tweaks and changes. And so we discuss. And pretty much everyone who plays the game has some sort of bias. Even if you play 50-50, maybe you prefer the narrative idea of being an aggressor over a victim. Maybe you prefer third person over first. Maybe one role stresses you and alters your perception more than the other. Maybe you prefer playing alone to playing with others. Nothing humans do is free of bias, especially when you have two distinctly different opposing sides.

I’m not saying you’re lying, I want to make that as clear as possible. But when you claim that a really important system the game is built on is broken, you have to understand the implications of that claim. It requires much more than hearsay and screenshots of emblems or scores.
If what you’re saying is true, the best thing to do would be to document it properly. You said yourself that you can take around ten screenshots a day, so it shouldn’t be hard to schedule a stream and show exactly what you’re talking about.
Then you could link that stream here on the forums so people, including the developers, can actually see the matches. If the issue is real, the games should clearly show obvious inconsistencies.
Because we all know what brand-new survivors look like in gameplay.
The community really needs to learn to respect data and understand how important it is for meaningful change. People often think the devs ignore the community, but a big part of the problem is the amount of noise compared to the small amount of solid, well-supported feedback that actually gets provided.
So many people complain and tell stories about their experiences, but they rarely provide the proper data needed for those claims to be taken seriously.
And the longer that data isn’t presented, the more the existing data that contradicts those claims becomes the stronger and more reliable conclusion.
You're last statement is exactly why I think the "SWF is OP" argument is bs. If a high MMR player links up with 3 mids and they get a high MMR killer, they have a good chance of losing. It really should average out to a mid killer
Unless that survivor’s MMR is astronomically high, it’s not going to average out to a high-MMR killer. Proving or even noticing something like that would be extremely difficult.
Average players aren’t bad players, and an average killer can still have a strong game and stomp other average survivors, which can make them look like a high-MMR killer.
Consistency is one of the biggest factors when climbing in any ranking system. Everyone has good games.
People often think the devs ignore the community, but a big part of the problem is the amount of noise compared to the small amount of solid, well-supported feedback that actually gets provided.
I get that, but the problem is data only gives you half. Humans are emotional, and games can be frustrating. For every nine matches someone wins and says nothing about, they come here to complain about the one they lost while blaming it on everything but themselves. It's very hard with this community to sort out genuine issues from whining, but you have things that have been making many, many people feel bad—sometimes for years—and nothing gets done. And that's partially the community's fault, because any little proposed change blows way out of proportion, especially with CCs dooming and glooming immediately. This community resists every and all change despite constant complaints about the stale meta. But it's more BHVR's fault for lacking a spine.
And as you said, they have data. They don't need my videos. They know if babies are being dumped into the deep end. I'm not saying matchmaking is broken in that it's doing something it's not supposed to, I'm saying it's a bad system that prioritizes speed and engagement over quality. Without a visible ranking system, it's impossible. What you have right now is a whole bunch of people assuming their MMRs, which is useless.
