  • You have the ability to turn cross play off? Can you uncheck the box? Yes.

If you uncheck the box, do you still get to play the game even if queue times are longer? Yes.

In not seeing a problem here. You still can play, it's just longer. YOU are in control of how long queue times are, based on your participation in the system.

Complain til you're blue in the face. The vast majority of us want cross play on. Tough booby. This isn't bullying, this is stating the facts. You don't like the facts and you just want to throw a temper tantrum. That's it

    Stop being a child. Now.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen you post on here, but I just have to say that I love you. Reading your post made me laugh so much. We need more like you. 👑

Aww thank you! <3 I appreciate that! I'm BrienDoesIt in game so if you ever see me, feel free to say hi! Well unless I'm Freddy, just say "HAY GURL!" cuz that's what I'll do when I see you XD

Look at Nea and tell me she's not a lesbian. You can't do it, can ya?!?

The only time I see Nea as this is in Samination's videos. "Yes it is the Neaty that forces our hand. A ding ding ding. A ding ding." Gay Wraith gives me life, I'm not gonna lie.

Gay is two percent, so expect the 50th survivor to be gay for equal representations

trans is far less than 1%, so expect the 10000th survivor to be trans for equal representation.

    thats all.

I'm double posting, I know, but I'd just like to point out that these numbers are slightly off.

gay/lesbian individuals are approximately 4.5% as of last check in 2017. Trans was roughly .6% (which is not "far less" than 1%).

And to put those into perspective, the US population is 328Million. Trans individuals make up roughly 1,968,000. OVER A MILLION PEOPLE.

    gay/lesbian is 14,760,000.

You're looking at 15million+ people. This is not a small number, so please don't use the percentages as some sort of justification for leaving various demographics out of the game.

  • @gatsby said:

I just hope they don't make a character who's entire personality centers around the fact they're a gay stereotype.

I'd much rather the writers reveal that an existing character is lgbt in the archives lore at some point.

As a gay man, I would KILL (no pun intended) to play a sassy gay dude. I'm not kidding. I'd even be up for voicing him. I would compare it to the Fabulous Chiron skin in Smite.

As it is, when I play Freddy, I play gay Freddy already so I'm down for whatever they want to do. I'm old, so seeing representation of any sort is STILL a shock to me. I never thought as a kid, that there'd ever be conversations around LGBT characters in video games at all, so this is major major progress. All of it.

ETA - one thing I will say to the devs - please, before you do a LGBT killer, do an LGBT survivor first. Please don't fall into the gay villain trope. Please.

I wasn't going to comment in this thread (or any like it for that matter) because I think it is silly. I managed to resist commenting in the threads about mattresses in Badham. I managed to bite my tongue about several other threads where someone is offended. I managed to hold off most of today for this one. I should have known my resolve would fail. I'm going to try to sum up quickly, rather than my normal long screed, why this thread (and many like it) are silly.

    1. This entire game is predicated on monstrous serial killers, monsters in fact that go around killing people in gruesome ways. In the real world murder, itself, is offensive. We accept, however, for the convention of games that make-believe murders are not.
    2. This game has people placed on imaginary meat hooks to be sacrificed to a dark entity.
    3. This game has people vomited upon, shot with a harpoon-rifle, savaged with chainsaws, and on and on and on.
    4. We have Killers that are cannibals that wear the faces of their dead victims as a mask.
    5. We have a Killer that is an supernatural pedophile from beyond the grave.
    6. We have a witch who was tortured by cannibals and driven insane and turned into one herself.
    7. We have a gal who wears an actual pig's head and murders people with reverse bear traps in a cruel, fixed game.
    8. We have an insane doctor who tortures people with eletro-shock, still a hot topic and in use in the real world.
    9. Most of our Survivors are young, innocent and not deserving of their fate.
    10. The entire setup is literally Hell, with innocents being forced to endure torture, pain and death over and over again.

With all this in mind, people are upset about squashing a demonic little troll? The DEV don't even refer to this thing as a baby. It isn't. It is a semi-conjoined Twin. It is a monster, a little demon which lives like a parasite in the chest of its sister (who is also a monstrous killer). I'm convinced that people who make silly posts like this one, are just Trolls themselves, looking for something to complain about or fight about. Get over it. If squashing Victor offends you and the other things on this list don't, I'd have to call you a hypocrite.

Hey, @TheClownIsKing - this answers for me.

"In fairness, if Victor WERE a baby, it WOULD be in poor taste and would have crossed a few lines.".

No. See quoted above. Even if this were a baby, who gives a buck. It's a horror game with very horror-like elements. They could even do Gage from Pet C/Semetery and it wouldn't be a problem. It's not like the killers get killed, they just get run away from.

That just made me think... Regan from the Exorcist could be kinda cool. Spider-walk across the map.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

In fairness, if Victor WERE a baby, it WOULD be in poor taste and would have crossed a few lines.

But we know that Victor is NOT a baby, and those that are being offended are too lazy to read anything new added to this game.

Heck, there are still players that think Leader still affects gen speeds, or don’t even know that fast actions give the killer noise notifications. “hOw dOeS tHe KiLlEr KeEp FiNdInG mE?!”

    No.

  • Whelp, I thought we only had parody posts like this. I was wrong.

  • I know this post is funny, but I'm not going to lie - there was a post on here a couple months ago talking about children in the game and I thought this would be serious. The amount of people not just saying they wouldn't but literally couldn't - I was like, technically they can do anything.

ALL of that being said - can we get Chucky now?

Edit - nevermind, found the actually serious post. And I still laughed.

  • The two must have perks for me are UE and spine chill. UE has gotten me around so many corners just enough the killer couldn't see me. One guy went around a rock 3 times with me while I was using UE. It was great! I use UE because it's just faster.

Also I'm not playing the game on speedrun, I'm playing the game to stay alive. So uh, if it helps me stay alive I'm gonna use it.

I'm sure the Killer would kill you If you give him the chance so... No. But the Killer also get Points for slaping me in the gates, so what's the problem with that? Just press M1!

Nah I'm gonna go to my corner over here and ignore you. If you wanna wait for me, please feel free. Hold your breath while you're at it.

  • As a Freddy main, I can tell you the easiest way to beat me is to rotate gens often. Spread out and don't have a bunch of people on one gen. When I start teleporting, you rotate to another gen, even if my teleport is fake.

It's really not that hard. He can only chase 1 person. There are 3 others who could and should be working on gens and/or totems.

I mostly play survivor and it's so weird how people cling to these gens once they start them. It's ok to move to another gen.

    I just spin around, lol

Some people also give the Killer their item as thanks.

SPINS! I'll become a ballerina XD

  • I will say this - if I do 2 quick crouches, I'm thanking you. Survs know that, but I try not to do it to a killer unless I'm REALLY thankful because I don't want them to think I'm tbagging lol

Dumb question is there a way for survivors to show killers that they appreciate them without teabagging? If I do the two quick ducks, do you guys know that's a thank you?

This may sound odd but I rarely get dick killers. Sometimes obviously, as I'm in purple and green rank. But for the most part a lot of the times the killer is actually kind of nice to us. Or he doesn't dick around with us, he just straight up kills us. So thank you to the killer mains that aren't terrible. ♥️

That's #########. I'm not complaining because I dc'ed on purpose, it's because I didn't. Why should I have to be penalized for problems that aren't in my control?! Why doesn't anyone want to address those issues? All you people are just whining that the penalty system is good, but can't even admit IT HAS FLAWS.

Hey yo. I'll make it really easy for you from my personal perspective.

Yes, 💯 the system has flaws. They are flaws that affect a small minority, so as far as I'm concerned, it is an acceptable risk. I believe BHVR is the same, though I cannot speak on their behalf. (although if BHVR needs a remote windows server admin, hit me up. Almost 20 years experience, many in an always on environment! 😂🤣)

But seriously, I would assume they've weighed the risks vs rewards and chosen based on that. I also understand why you'd feel that isn't fair! You have no control over your internet going out! But it's still screwing up the game for the rest of the players. It's even LESS their fault than it is yours. So why should 4 people be punished because your internet is spotty?

The game is in the state it's in. That's neither your fault or the fault of the other players. But at the end of the day, you're the one choosing to get into game. You're the one choosing to play with spotty internet, so therefore you must also accept that there are consequences to things that happen, even if it isn't your fault.

This is life, this is the reality of the situation. And from what I can see, it's not changing anytime soon. And please understand, I want people to enjoy the game. But I also do not think 1 person should get to (intentionally or unintentionally) ruin the other people's games. There has to be consequences. Even if it's because it wasn't your fault.

  • @BetaBytes said:

it's not fair. it needs to go! its such a bad system because it can't determine when you lose network connection and not a player truly disconnected issue.

And why is it BAD to DC??? Seriously have you seen the level 1 killers lately? They're all just camping and tunneling anyways.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how it's unfair. You're basically leaving 4 other people high and dry because you're throwing a tantrum. That's why it's bad.

  • @TheeclumsyNinja said:

EVERY F*****G KILLER IS JUST TUNNELING, CAMPING, AND SLUGGING BY THE HOOK CAUSE THEY DONT CARE CAUSE THEY GET A SH!T TON ON BP ANYWAY... only thing keeping me playing is double bp.

Im sick of the “just do gens” crap, ITS NOT FUN GAMEPLAY FOR ANYONE.

I dont play killer anymore cause its dumb af at high ranks and survivor i only play cause of friends... we didnt need graphical updates, or minor changes to useless perks making them still useless.... make the game play good, change the meta, add somethings to the game to add some variety to the game play for survivor cause its the same boring gameplay once you get good at looping and time management.

I find the "I'm sick of the "just do gens" crap" part interesting. And inaccurate. Hiding and doing gens, playing hide and seek, that's absolutely fun, imo. I don't find chases fun at all because my skill in strategery is low and I do better at hiding than I do being chased.

Plus, you know, there's also that whole part of "the gens are literally your only hard objective in order for you to survive". That part is pretty important too.

  • @Tricks said:

Survivors genrush because they're greedy and have no foresight about the bp and shards they could get if they play the entire game, not just holding LMB

Well this is a bad take if Ive ever heard one.

My goal is to survive. If I leave only making the minimum bp but I lived? Hey guess what, I won.

  • "why do you genrush?" Because that's how you play the game? That's what my objectives are?

I'm not here for you to chase me. I'm here to avoid you and do gens. You're here to find me and kill me.

Sounds like were doing what we're supposed to?

  • Well I'm a gay man so, yes! I'll take it 😂🤣

  • Awesome, thanks y'all. As @Moundshroud said, I'll purge toxic from vocab. Like, I am one of those weirdos who cares if the other team has fun too, but I admit when I 3gen I really patrol the hell out of them. It becomes a battle of wills at that point. that's actually what I like. They're down to 1 gen and I can't let them have it. It's the massive pressure that I love. Lol

Thank you all for giving me perspective!! Appreciate it!

  • If we could, I'd change all chase music to the benny hill music.

Tell me that wouldn't be amazing with a straight face.

Honestly makes sense I don't play against Freddy much don't have the pleasure I guess just my luck but when I play Freddy it does seem to be a issue but as you said and I trust your not just feeding some bs it is no doubt easier split up but nice call on the being aware of the gens you run to even I tard out and run to by unfinished gen this may help me so thank you

Thank you! I was playing as Freddy last night and I mentioned this to the survivors at the end and they said it's more advantageous to split into teams of two against Freddy. So theres another angle for you, if you like! My thinking with Freddy (or any high mobility killer) is, the more spread out you are the less likely he can just TP to a gen and get you. And if you have 3 gens going while 1 person is being chased, it theoretically go faster.

I'm absolutely open to suggestions and comments though. If my logic doesn't make sense to anyone else, I'd love to hear other suggestions!

God forbid Killers just walk forward and chase them out instead of complaining about it on every forum known to man.

If you've won, get the buck out the door. Don't stand there and be a douche.

  • Playing Mikey the other day, they all got to the doors. 3 if them left. I normally just go back in a corner if they get out because Nea told me I have to punish myself. So I go stand in a corner. This time, this specific survivor got off the hook, DS'ed me, and was almost to the door. I stopped because it's obvious he won. He sat in the doorway tbagging me. For almost the entire countdown timer. I literally just stood there staring as I figured Mikey would do if he knew he couldn't catch someone.

This dude literally stayed there so long, he had almost no time to get out. Tbagging me. The entire time. I just stared. What else can I do? You won dude, bucking go already so I can get into a new game.

It isn't a statement when looking at some of the more "useless" comments. I guess one of the side effects is on blight, where he gets an extra charge, but it could also be joke text.

Fair point. It was just interesting to see white knight used. I havent seen that one in a while. I'm an out and out sjw so seeing it always makes me laugh.

Agreed! At first I took it as flavor but if there are other cool effects I'm not aware of, I wanna play those. Most of my killers are very low level because I don't like most killers lol

The passive sleep thing fits his lore more than his hit to sleep mechanic does, or even his old power of putting people to sleep.

I personally use fake pallets over snares, placing pallets during a chase is far easier and less fine tuned than a snare.

The passive sleep one is interesting because you don't have people in the movies just fall over asleep on the floor unless drugged. (Kristen I'm looking at you). The micronaps thing with the new movie was interesting but was completely new to the series - I still can't decide what I think of it (from a canon standpoint). Sorry, I love talking noes lore. (Noes, not noed!)

  • @Akito said:

Yea. I mean he's not OP. His ability is just way too easy to use and way too high rewarding. There's no special knowledge, skill or downside to all of his tools. You just press the button and spam the hell out of it. No fall back, no cooldown, no downside, no tactic nothing.

So Freddy with all of his tools is fine but

1.Sth needs to be changed so that you have to be actually good and you get punished for missplays.

2.He's way too oppressive for solos. But that's more of a singleplayer problem. Sth the devs shouldve already fix in order to create more things and killers who relies on coordination and information and stuff like that.

Are you talking about freddy's tp? It has a cool down, even if you use it to mindgame. You can shorten the cool down but it's still got one.

The survivors get a notification that he's coming. More often than not, the survivors at least hide when the blood starts pouring out.

(This is irrelevant to your post if you meant his invisibility, etc)

  • She's an interesting killer. I don't find her fun to play but I think it's because I'm not into the ducking crouching killers as much.

Her power set is interesting. Also is the growl just to let you know someone is pouncing on you?

  • @Kamizake12 said:

Not really, they said to not draw any conclusions, and I think OP is only using them to back up their point (which is fine)

But again, not fine if based on anecdotal evidence. It's backing up his "I feels" rather than "the data continues to show ..." See the difference?

Going to a dev and saying "his kit is bad because he can get anywhere fast. Then add perks and oh no! Now he can slow down AND kick gens to make them worse!". Yes. That's how the game is designed.

But going to s dev and saying "look. Your chart shows he has a pick rate of 3.(whatever) percent. His kill rate is 66%. Based on the other numbers you've given us, as well he really needs to not have 10 traps on the ground. 10 is way too many and he can put them everywhere. If you look at this data here, you can see that 85% of traps laid down are triggered. That's far too high if you have the ability to have 10. Don't you think a 50% chance would be more balanced?"

This example is literally the worst example I pulled out of my ass. You get the point.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1704657#Comment_1704657

They released a stat dump probably about this time last year, a few months after Freddy's rework, and even there he had a significantly higher kill rate at all ranks. They also included red ranks, where he was still the highest by a wide margin.

Comparing that one to this one it seems that EVERY killer's kill rate went down, but Freddy remains above every other killer by a statistically significant amount.

Also I never claim anything about counter play. YES he can be countered, I won't deny that, but he is still a very strong killer so much that he has the highest kill rate for well over a year.

Ok THIS is getting somewhere! Tell me more.

This is good!!! This is data! Even if it's old days it's still something!! Now, give me some figures. Let's work out the math so we can provide stats to the devs that can show them where the breakdown is.

  • @Kamizake12 said:

Yes, a global data (you were crying about anecdotal being used as a fact) now BHVR post a kill rate data, and now you dont answer me why they're flawed?

Please i'll ask you again: Why is BHVR stats flawed?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BSV5L86E1PDU/image.png

Oh and btw dont be any of those groups or i'll take your quote as a bait.

Bhvrs Stats aren't wrong. You're just taking them farther than they need to go, as even stated by them.

  • Fair. Point noted.

I'll be clear. I do not know if Freddy is good or bad because I do not have enough information to determine that.

If I go by my own anecdotal evidence as well as the evidence I see of streamers, then I find I rarely get 4 kills, most of the time it's 1. I can't get to the other side of the map if my power is on cool down, so when they spread out I have no way of countering.

So as far as I'm concerned, Freddy isn't good enough. But I know better than to use my anecdotal evidence.

  • @Kamizake12 said:

And yet you didn't answer me why BHVR's data is flawed. Just because you dont like seeing the truth, doesn't mean that those stats are flawed (ps: dont be a echo chamber)

The only bhvr stat you have is 1 graphic showing pick rate vs kill rate unless bhvr has actually shared their data with us all and I missed it.

The only echo chamber I see here is the anecdotal evidence chamber. Get me some hard data. Freddy is counterable, like hex perks.

Lol and yet none of this addresses the fact that you have no hard evidence. Just because you don't like being pressed doesn't mean it's an invalid argument. (By the way, you fall into group 4. Just an FYI)

Vet me hard evidence and we will talk. Until then anecdotal evidence is useless. And that's all this forum (and to be fair, most gaming forums) has. It's ok - it's fine, but when pressed for facts, you can't use feelings.

So if "win" is subjective then I'd first like to know what the average is on kills per match. If he has 5000 matches and manages to kill at least 1 person every match, that's not really a bad thing. If he has 500 matches and kills all 4 every time, that's another. But he has counters.

I do. Just because they said "don't draw conclusions" does not mean that the charts are meaningless. When you consider ALL this stuff the picture becomes pretty clear that Freddy needs to be tuned down some.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1704565#Comment_1704565

It makes complete sense, what about it doesn't make sense? The lore is supposed to be that he gets his power from people remembering him. If he never attacks someone he can't be remembered.

Furthermore lore should not supersede gameplay. It's a simple change that would make things better for both sides.

That's not how Freddy gets his power in the new movie. They never explain how he gets his power. He just really likes fear because it makes him all tingly inside, like Nancy did before he got flambe'd.

The old movies, him being remembered didn't really come into play until Freddy vs jason. If remembering was a thing, in freddy's dead the entire town remembered him.

There is enough evidence: Freddy's basekit is overloaded, can completely counter X perk without any effort, freddy's passive effects are too strong.

"Ok so how many games did he lose then? If that's the kill rate, that doesn't tell us if he won matches. All it says is he can kill."

A 'win' is subjective in this game. Kills are not. No one is basing their arguments on wins, they base it on kill rate and killer effectiveness.

"My entire point here is, all your points are flawed *if* there's no data to back them up."

Except I have 2 sets of data to back it up.

Its because they have passive sleep.

Fox stated that if he were to change the dream mechanics that he would change that the dream time wouldn't count down until you hit them for the first time. But the timer just means you are in micro sleep. Which also means that Freddy could theoretically hunt you down. Removing the timer until the first hit would not canonically make any sense to his lore.

Wait, Freddy has lore here? #########.

I'm a huge FredHead (it's why I main him) but it's obvious they used the remake version for him, which is bbllaahhhhhh. Microsleep is meh from a canonical perspective.

I figure they patterned him off the new Freddy for licensing reasons but man, I think OG Freddy would be amazing. And Nancy (instead of Quintin. Lame.) Bur since we have a Nancy, get us a Tina. Or even an Alice. Someone from the original series!

Doc has a 7% pick rate EWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Doc I have a far harder time countering than Freddy. His giant ass spark that gets a good portion of the map is aarrgghhhh.

Side question - what does bhvr consider a "win" for the killer? 1 kill? 2 kills? 4 kills?

It's not "win rate' it's kill rate, therefore we know exactly how they get it. By killing survivors. The more survivors they kill, invariably, the stronger of a killer they are.

"Free passives? I'm far more scared of killers that can expose you than I am of Freddy. I can run circles around Freddy lol but see, I don't use my anecdotal evidence to counter yours. See how that works?"

A good Freddy will catch you because of snares, so I highly doubt this claim.

He will if you keep looping the same loop. Move away. I literally just listed to someone else how to counter Freddy. It's not hard.

Ok so how many games did he lose then? If that's the kill rate, that doesn't tell us if he won matches. All it says is he can kill.

My entire point here is, all your points are flawed *if* there's no data to back them up. I main Freddy. I still lose games. Somewhat often. And I'm not even in red ranks. I lose more than i win though. Having data of kill rate doesn't actually tell you if it's *win rate*. There's a difference.

And yes, kill rate can LEAD to win rate, but that's not definitive.

Plus how could Freddy hit a survivor if they weren't in the dream world? You are pretty much making Freddy 100% useless based on the "he must hit them first" yet it is known he can only attack when you are asleep.

As far as I can tell, I can still hit survivors which then puts them into the dream world. Maybe I have the mechanics backwards?

Let me ask you this, what "hard evidence" would satisfy you? Because I don't have access to all of BHVR's data. Therefore all I can give you is my experience and what data they have given, but even then I make completely valid arguments about Freddy.

Everyone wants to contest how I came to my conclusion instead of my conclusions themselves. Explain to me how anything I said about him is wrong. That he doesn't have the best gen pressure in the game, or free passives no other killer gets, or semi-stealth, or anit-chase mechanics.

As you just said, you don't have access to bhvrs data. That is exactly where I'd look. Especially since the devs have told you to not only look at that chart. Unless I missed it, you don't even know what criteria the "win rate" is in that graphic. (This one I might have missed and it'd answer how many people escaped vs died.) The point of that question is, what constitutes a "win"? All 4 killed or just 2 killed? If it's only 2 that means 2 people still escaped and won. That would be pretty balanced, yes?

Free passives? I'm far more scared of killers that can expose you than I am of Freddy. I can run circles around Freddy lol but see, I don't use my anecdotal evidence to counter yours. See how that works?

Forgive me I didn't read the whole thing but from what I seen your right Freddy is crazy good and I can say both tinkerer and discordance are disgusting on Freddy I don't play this game to be over competitive but there is no lying how strong that is hell at one point I believe I use to use on Freddy BBQ discordance tinkerer and bloodwarden I believe it called to be fair I'm no pro at the game I'm only purple rank but my experience with this have been op as hell but like I said I don't play overly competitive I just used perks that sounded good for my playstyle

The counter to this is have people split up and be doing multiple gens at once. Freddy can only be in one place at once, so to counter that, spread out. 1 person looping well can run a Freddy in circles even with his traps. Don't be afraid of his teleporting because most of the time it's a mindgame. Also don't run towards a gen if you can help it because he can just teleport to it and hit you as you're running by.
