Lot of people have that experience (you can clearly see the lots of freddy complain on this forum)
And he has data: Kill rate stats
And it isn't only about that data, I think anyone with half a brain knows that freddy's kit is overloaded
If you want to win arguments and debates, bring facts. Anecdotal evidence gets you nowhere and I see a lot of anecdotal evidence on both sides here.
-
Ok let me rephrase this. Please, what kind of hard evidence do you have? Other than your gut feelings (which can easily be wrong or ignore other sets of data that are relevent)?
Do you have ANY evidence other than "my friends and I see him win a lot with strong perks so he's bad". This isn't evidence. Irs your gut feeling. I don't care if you've played literally 24 hours a day 7 days a week since it released. You're still using 1 *small* set of data. Your own. That's it.

Yeah, can you tell me how years old the freddy player is? what time of the day they were playing? what did they eat for breakfast? how tall they are?
Btw did you even read suicide's fox discussion? his argument isn't only about the charts, and peanits said in a comment that those stats are not flawed, it's just the killer community playerbase that doesn't want to accept the truth. It is flawed cause they want it to be that way.
Yes. I did. It's still all anecdotal evidence. Anecdotal evidence means jack if you're trying to use facts for your arguments.
The fact of the matter is, you are using your own experiences to say something is right or wrong. He does not have any data to back up his arguments. Just vague statements of "this is my experience". Cool story bro, but what about those that don't have that experience?
-
Ok but opinions are still opinions, yes?
Can you tell me how many people usually survive with a Freddy on average? Can you tell me how many games there are where some survivors escape and some don't? Can you tell me the various builds on the freddy's who've won and lost? Can you even tell me how much Freddy actually uses his power? This would determine if his power was too strong. Also, can you give me information on how many times survivors actually run over traps or get caught with fake pallets?
Your conclusions are all anecdotal evidence with 1 specific chart that BHVR said literally do not do what you're doing.
Sorry man, but your and your friends anecdotal "evidence" doesn't actually stand up to scrutiny. Especially if the hard evidence you have is 1 chart and the rest is "I feel like" or "I think". These are not facts, they're your observations. That's it.
You have no argument because you have no basis for comparison. You have no idea what is and isn't right with his kit. You don't even know how often his powers are used.
-
The problem I see with your conclusions are, they're all anecdotal based. You're using strictly your own experience without discussing with other people who play Freddy. The experience that 1 player has isn't representative of all experiences.
I'm a bad bad player but I main Freddy. I get roughly half win half loss. The wins can be hard but the losses? When a team wants you to lose, you'll lose. This isn't a direct comment on balance, more I'm using the same anecdotal evidence you are. As far as I'm concerned, Freddy could use a buff because I'm not winning as many games as I'd like. π€£π

Newer player but I don't really loop as killer because all you're doing is trying to get my attention. If you're trying to get my attention, it's for a reason. My guess is you want to distract me so I don't go kick the gens. But my job is to kick gens and kill you so I don't care about trying to catch you. I'll get that eventually when you run out of steam.
A battle of attrition. I'll win. Im older and have more patience.
-
I do not think you're responsible for anyone elses fun.
That being said, I do think it should be (but not is, if people here are right) a reportable offense. It's bad sportsmanship, especially if you're leaving them on the ground to bleed out.
But because it's allowed currently by the devs, I don't see a problem with it.
Also, I don't see an issue if you knock them all down and then hook them - my stance is strictly on slugging and letting bleed out.
-
Can someone explain to a noob how ooo is toxic? I'm confused. It's a perk that is a double edged sword isn't it?
-
I am trying to play killer as much as possible but I gotta admit, it really is discouraging as a newer player to sit on the other side of the map when the gates are opened, knowing you lost because you couldn't get your momentum, and they sit there for the entire timer.
I'm standing in the corner on the other side of the map because I have displeased the entity. Stop making my life worse, you jerks! I'm already going to get hentai'ed later as it is. Have you not seen Blair witch? You should know what to do when you see someone standing in a corner! Run tf away!

Honestly ever since ds is bugged i've seen killers tunnel and camp every single game for 2 weeks straight, today i played 10 games all 10 the killers just either face camp or tunnel. Can't even blame ppl for dc-ing, if ppl dc they are doing it for a reason dc penalties won't even stop that since guess what if im willing to dc idc about the penalty simple as that. Also if anyone is screwing up the game for others its the killers that decided to camp slug until bleed out or tunnel can't screw up the game for others if they are just gonna get camped or tunneled anyway. Thats the only time i would dc personally and won't blame others its just boring and unfair
I don't DC when I get tunneled. I die then move onto the next game. It's not hard.

She would be the first to die in my Slasher Horror. There's always something else that comes along with big booty, and depending on who you are decidedly, would kill her off simply because of attitude. She's the type to mouth off to the killer, before she bites the dust. And if you're a killer, will kill her off π€£
Oh my God I love this mostly because I'm the gay male version of her.
Imagine some fat gay dude with a big butt goin up to trapper like "you ain't tapping this ass, #########!" Then trying to run away, get stupidly caught in a trap and die all because I'm too sassy for my own good.

So if i may, may i sum up your stance in my words?
It seems like you're not arguing that people purposely DC to dodge or anything else, strictly as a way for a last survivor to get the hatch. Any other reason is *not* valid in your opinion? Do I have it right?
I'm not being snide or snarky, I promise! In just trying to sum up your thoughts/stance so I can see it better.
This is a nuanced opinion I can understand and even lightly get behind since the person doing it is out of altruism rather than malice or frustration. I still don't think it's right because you lose your BP too but it's at least not a selfish self centered reason
If im wrong, then my bad.

"They HAVE brought up valid, just not valid in your books"
Yes, and there's no reason I should consider it valid. Nor should you. We know DCs happen so why can't we talk about why they happen? I'm not telling anyone that they should do it to others. I don't feel cheated when people do it to me. That's all. The problem is that you and two others refuse to admit the underlying causes and it's really weird you would invest so much discussion on something and not move past your initial claim. My point is that DC happens for a reason and you probably need to figure out what those reasons are and then we can talk about what can fix the issue.
"I certainly did not report the post"
....I wasn't speaking to you Freki? Are you just Mound with a second account? lmfao
And no I don't advocate cheating. I just said I don't feel cheated by something like this that happens and gave you a scenario where it happened to me and I didn't feel cheated. Rather than reiterating something we've already hammer at least a dozen times, why not discuss why I should feel cheated when I didn't? Or the scenarios that cause it? Or how to fix those scenarios? Because I keep telling you over and over and OVER again that this is not the intention of my conversational points. Move past it.
"'if you do something against the rules then you are CHEATING"
What a brave position to take lol we've already kind of established this like in the very beginning of this thread
"yes that was not what you said but it was for an example"
So you accuse me of "advocating cheating" and then admit that's not what I said? Why are you going to accuse me then back out of it in the very next breath? This is absurd. You are absurd. At this point I can't tell if you're either just piggybacking on others for the attention or if this is an alt account. This is a very bizarre thing to do.
"ALSO the underlying cause for the disconnects is not what you are saying it is, it is the fact that people decide (killer or survivor) they don't like something so they feel since they paid for it they can just up and quit"
Read the first part where you said it's not what I said it is. Now read the part's where that's exactly what I said it is. I've already covered very specific scenarios that the game encourages it. I already posted about how a group did it to me for morally altruistic reasons and I respected them for it. I'm not saying you have to(although, I think my mentality is a little bit healthier than the guy who records every game and submits video evidence every time a player doesn't sate his ego and decides not to play). The point of that is that I can see why they did that. If you want people to not do that, you have to give them alternatives. But you gave a few good examples. People who DC on a map they don't like when there are offerings to go where they do want to- that's an uncommon but fair example that happens from time to time. I've never done that, I don't know anyone personally who does that, I don't see why you would do that, and even worse there is no work around for people who are too lazy to light an offering just to go to a map they like. I don't think there's an answer to fix that particular problem.
No. You're saying "we should talk about DCs! These are the reasons!"
Nobody cares. Reasons are irrelelvent if you're screwing up the game for others. As I said, your ends do not justify the means.
-
@TransverseCaster said:
"Β if you feel something in the game is wrong, it gives you the right to violate the standards of the game"
And to be clear, if anyone feels anything is wrong then they always have a right to violate the standards imposed on them. Morals always trumps ethics and it should never be the reverse. I'm saying this not to advocate cheating as I know you will insist, but because it's a life lesson that you will carry with you through real world situations. I have had jobs where I was expected to keep my mouth shut and watch people get dicked over because the people in charge felt okay with that. It would not have been right to be complicit. History teaches you enough about what happens when ethics take precedence over one's own morals.
No the problem with your premise is you're screwing other people in the game.
No, I'd someone feels something is wrong, that does *not* entitle them to violate those standards. Otherwise I could argue I could murder someone because I felt they were wrong and violating my standards. That's not how society works.

"The absolute MOST childish thing to do is throw a temper tantrum and DC because something didn't go the way you want to."
I never advocated this. I merely said that in the situation of a slug-hatch standoff where the killer is slugging the penultimate player in order to secure a 4k and in the process screw the survivor out of the entire hatch mechanism, that it could be considered altruistic to leave the match and let the last player get the hatch. I say this because I was playing killer in the best match I've ever had and this is what the team did to me to get their last slugged player to escape. According to you I should be the victim, but I respected what they did.
"Generally speaking, don't DC then come back into the lobby to berate the person you didn't think played right. That's just toxic and inappropriate. If you DC, stay gone. Don't come back. You made your point, no one cares what you have to say afterwards. You took the cowards way out, just go away."
This sounds like you're speaking to a thousand other players that you have personally played with that aren't me. I've never done this, I've never said I've done this, I don't know why you would assume I've done this.
That last part wasn't you, which is why I said generally speaking.
Your first part, fair. You weren't speaking broadly but in a specific situation.

I've only had this happen once luckily but just like every other game, I figure the toxic players will always be there and I just roll my eyes. People who run a certain build, does not strike me as toxic. If a mechanic is in the game I can't be mad at people using those items. I do think it's toxic when, as the person I quoted said, people are in chat or even come to your stream to be all "hahahahahaha baby killer!!!!" I played a ######### game. Like, whats your point? It also irritates me when they just stand in the doorway so they can teabag in the entryway. Once I see them at the gate I literally turn and walk away from the gate to the other side of the map. But going back to the whole paying to watch thing, I can't get my mind around why people pay so much money to watch so called ' content creators' I've saw the odd video on YouTube that's funny but I wouldn't pay Β£4 to subscribe to someone to sit on their game all day. All the younger generations are going to think this is the way forward. Go out, learn a skill to make money that benefits the world, be an electrician, a hospital worker, a shop worker. Sitting playing a game with brain dead followers is not how to build a life. It's like Jersey shore, big brother etc.
Whoa slow down there grandpa. Adapt or die.
I say that as a 41 year old, btw. *We* are no longer the arbiter of what is and isn't a valid profession. You can say "go get a skill!" But.... No. These kids don't need to. They are doing what they want how they want when they want.
Us old people would have killed for that. Unless you're one of those people that have to be told what to do. Then sure, go get a job. But I'm not and I fail to see a reason why this isnt a legit profession. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it invalid. Just because something doesn't contribute to society in the way you think it should, doesn't mean it doesn't have merit or worth.
Go get back on your rocking chair grandpa, cuz this isn't our world anymore, it's the kids. We're just living in it.

I think if done right it wouldn't be a big deal but I do think they'd have to be, minimum, teens. I agree with you about kids. So wait if bhvr says everyone has to be 18. Quinton was 17 in the movie, so I guess he could have dinged up to 18.

To be fair Chucky's a full grown man in a doll, he's not a kid.
There are a bunch of horror movies with killers who are kids though, some of the standouts might be:
- The Omen
- Children of the Corn
- Carrie
- Firestarter
- The Ring
- Pet Semetary
Also technically Spirit is the ghost of a teenager so in a sense there already is one. (Hag might be too, I'm pretty sure she was a young girl when she turned into Hag. And Huntress is a full grown woman but she's kind of like a kid mentally.)
Huntress has the absolute best music "la la la Laaa laaaaaaaaaaaaa *evil laugh*". And this is coming from someone who's fave movie is nightmare on elm street *insert any movie number here* and I literally freak out when going against Freddy because he's awesome. But man, huntresses song is like, insane.
I should answer your question.
I think I'd care more about killers who are children than I would if say, it was a tiny doll (Chuckie). Like I'm not sure I'd like to see an Isaac or Malachi. Everyone whos in children of the corn is under 18 so it's a little sketch.
But like Carrie, it was her senior prom so I could see her being 18 (I don't remember the actual movie she was).
Gage from pet simetary as an example would not be good. At all. That'd be terrible on a multitude of levels.
-
I mostly play survivor because I suck at killer. As a killer though, the biggest thing that will literally make me turn and walk away from you is if I'm chasing you , we come to a sort of empasse and I start to walk away and you start clicking the flashlight like "come here!".
I immediately walk away and ignore that guy. I then remember who he is and refuse to give in to his chases until I have to.
If he teabags, I just shrug and walk away from that too. And when the gates are open and it's obvious I lost I just walk away from the gates. I don't give two f!!! About seeing you dumbfu!!! Sitting there teabagging because you're too immature to act like an adult. Last night I was Myers and I walked away from the gates because 3 of the 4 had gotten there. No lie, I went to the back of the map and they literally waited in there until it was almost too late.
Like, f!!! You. Grow the f!!! Up, get the f!!!! Out and go find another killer to bug. I'm done with ya.

There sure is. If that joke counts as a tutorial, I'm to open a culinary school. I'll never have to attend because I can just put a sign up that says "make good food" and people will come to defend it as proper instruction.
I came here to say there's a tutorial as well. I'm new (read my previous posts) and the tutorial explained what I needed to do and why.
It doesnt go through looping specifically but most people expect if you're being chased you run so it's not really not intuitive.
I dunno maybe it's because I've been playing video games most of my life but the tutorial was good enough to get started. Maybe some advanced techniques to further the tutorial?

Playing in Red Ranks in solo queue is never fun for me, but I'm not one of those people that will lose a match on purpose to derank myself. Every match I play as a Survivor I used to be teamed up with maybe 1 person who rage quits via disconnect or suicide on first-hook, 1 person who doesn't know how BBQ and Chili works, a few people that run to the center of the map the moment the match starts and end up dying under 30 seconds, etc.
Now I get paired with people that don't know how to hide, loop, search for totems, heal, block a hit for a team mate, etc. Minimum is 1 rage quit a game so game description should be updated to a 3 v 1 asymmetric horror game. Team mates don't know how each Killer's power works (just had a match where 2 people died to The Pig's reverse bear trap because they didn't know what it did or how to take off the headset.)
On the other hand, almost all Killers I've played against ONLY tunnel and face camp. Normally you could punish the face-camping Killer by having everyone do gens and leave (keeping casualties to a minimum), now EVERYONE tries to go in for the save (90% of the time runs in front of the Killer and expects nothing to happen).
So until this is F-I-X-E-D, I'm running my "You have to do everything because your team is garbage" loadout.
-Inner Strength (because team mates won't check for HEX:Ruin at the start of the match by tapping a generator, team mates won't break totems, and team mates won't heal me)
-Babysitter (*very fitting perk name* self-explanatory)
-Spine Chill (Know when Killer is coming and promptly hide BEFORE the Killer gets to the gen *pro tip that not a lot of people understand: if the Killer can't find you, you won't die*)
-Resilience (After taking a hit and losing the Killer, use the 9% bonus on gens because I'm the only one working on the objective).
I'm new. Seriously. Don't pair me with this guy. Seriously. I know how to heal and do gens and cleanse totems. I suck at looping because I'm new to it, I would love to try to take a hit for someone and I've tried but it only works some of the time and I'm sure I'm doing it wrong anyway. Also, I don't really know how BBQ and chili works (I keep calling it bbq and chill). Annndddd I'm sure I run to the middle of the map because I don't know all the map layouts yet
So anyway, for my closing argument, basically, please don't pair me with him. He would beat me about the head neck shoulder back and arm region just because Im new. And you don't want a dead cannonball on your hands, do you? :(

Bring a Mori, get 2 hooks with any specific survivor and their 3rd is an automatic mori. Problem solved.
I'm completely new to the game but I have to say, this is a really good idea.
-
Edit : tl;Dr, the game is fun so I don't wanna leave!
But I just started. I've got like 80 hours in. :( I had my first toxic comment last night. "GG ez scrub" as killer. So then I mori'ed every group after that. (To be fair, I said, and I quote, "gen rushers! Fun!") But I don't care ultimately if they gen rush, that's the point of the game. All other stuff for survivors is just extra cake (healing, etc).
I try to be split fairly evenly between survivors and killer. What I personally have noticed (and I'm new so it might be a bad observation overall) is that people know the game enough, if a group wants to gen rush, the killer is going to have a hard time. If a killer is not good (as I was being lazy that first game) then they're going to get stomped and there's very little you can do about it.
If a killer is determined though, the survivors are going to have a damn hard time, esp if he's good. I'm a terrible Freddy (main) and with overcharge I can eff with the survivors and that's what I end up doing. Fave part is when I'm down to 3 gens patrolling and they slip up. It's so fun.
Anyway, I don't wanna quit yet. I'm having fun playing both sides, watching people like Puppers and tru3talent (sorry can't remember where the number goes in talent! I apologize!) Is what made me want to jump into this game. Fun times y'all.
(Also can we get an unranked queue? If I'm having a bad night as a survivor, I don't want to mess up someone else's rank).
(Edit 2 - why am I being matched with like, level 6s and 4s when I'm 15? Is that typical?)
