I say don't open, dead inside is by far hardest achiement in the game. I have tried last few weeks to get it. But the map is super mega rare. I brought map offering there 50 times and only once I actually got the map... 2 times I got the map without offering. So out of almost 100 games 3 times I have played there and every time the killer just camped the gen and played as toxic as possible. Their only goal when this map is to stop you from getting the achiement.

This achiement might take years and the map is also mega killer sided. Makes me log out of the game now. That's better than going to killer as I would play definetely toxic when frustated.

RPD achiement is peace of cake compared to this one took me few days to get it. Recently has escaped from there multiple times as well. Even with map offering nerfs it's very attainable just need bit of work unlike walking dead achiement which is purely luck.

Hey DS, I don't want to be rude, but it's "achievement" not achiement.

  • Well, when I think about some collab streamer videos, some (killer) players have their gamma on full blast and graphics set low just to gain any advantage possible.

So, looking at the screenshot, for some killer players fog vial might as well be a flash bang 😂

  • Uff, roughly 530 down votes of 655 on a profile coming from 1 thread. Damn.

  • I don't. I quit '21/22.

I'm only still on this forum for the regular drama and entertainment.

  • Welcome to online gaming and the Internet.

It has been the norm to establish a "what's the best/strongest" way to play any game since the Internet gave way to world wide communication and brain storming.

Do people get banned for repeated leaving? If so then yeah I get it my post is invalid.

    Not straight up banned, no.

A time limited lockout of entering queue with increasing timer up to 48 hours, I think.

The limit slowly lowers with time or matches played without leaving. But details on this part of how it works specifically are mostly unknown.

I’m going to get right to the point. I believe survivors should see when they have killer instinct on them. This doesn’t really affect veteran players who play both sides and know what killers have it and when. But for new survivors, it isn’t obvious that the killer can see them unless they have seen gameplay of the killers perspective. I don’t see anything bad that would come from a change like this.

Sorry, but the only thing I get from this is "Survivor need a tell for EVERYTHING the killer does and every perk they have".

Another indicator for survivor to tell them to pre run.

Is this intended? I haven't played DBD in over a week. I just disconnected from a match to join a friend who hopped on and I don't ordinarily disconnect from games. I'm not sure if the last time I played (whenever that was) if I'd disconnected then — but regardless, it's been at least seven days. I had a 15 minute ban though, which doesn't make any kind of sense to me.

Afaik, the DC penalty only regresses through playing. You can't sit it out. There was even something about having to play 20 matches for it to go down (one level?).

I just had a game where a Spirit literally had all of us down by 4 gens left and it's like, girl you're letting us slug it out for the 4k and you're going to get like way less points than you would've if you just chased people and hooked more than once.

It just seems a tad bit weird when everybody's bringing cakes and the potential for BP gains is massive and easy.

    A universal experience.

My last game years ago during an anniversary: 5 point offerings, haddonfield, me on blight at which is suck at, 2 hooks (no camping, tunneling or slugging), ended with 3 ppl with less than 11k points on the end card, me included.

Both sides show that they don't care about the other.

I just got swarmed by crows during a match with nemi. We were at 1 gen left, it was about 95% done, and while he was in chase with another survivor the zombie was hanging around. I would go from one side of the gen to the other over and over again, anytime the zombie got close I would move to the other side. Slowly making progress. I got 2 crows for it… felt pretty bad ngl.

As someone that neither actively plays nor follow s the updates closely I have some questions:

    • How long were you working on the gen before switching sides?
    • Did you ONLY move around the gen?

Because if you only progressed the gen for a second or less and only crouched around the gen, I would say crows are warranted.

I guess this new crow system is to combat the endless hiding strategy where survivor would drop+pickup items, tap gens or move a few feet to laughable easily avoid crows.

Recently, I had a survivor team with a duo of Megs, both in red tracksuits, both named some version of “Hex,” and both carrying flashlights. Right from the start, they were teabagging and trying to provoke me with flashlight clicks and gestures.

One of them got sacrificed by the time the third gen popped. The other one gave up after a preventive slug - just stood near a hook with crows circling. In the end, I let him escape.

I’m pretty sure his buddy was spectating the whole thing, and maybe they got something out of the experience. Or maybe they just moved on to troll the next killer.

Would you call that a God complex?

I would call that nicely handled. 👏

My go-to with those kind of annoying attention seeking tbaggers was the ignore treatment. They want get their kick out me by trying aggravate and provoke me? Good luck doing that on their own.

No different than existing complaints of people upset about poor survivors that can't do chases who get themselves hooked and eliminated early.

    (Sorry for the late answer.)

Oh they would be different. At this time it ends with an extremely hard/skewed match.

If this "hook pool shared by all survivor" would be depleted by one really weak teammate the game simply ends for everyone.

In the first case the other survivor have the chance to still play and hopefully have done enough progress, while the weak link got eliminated, to escape themselves.

But when the weak link is inevitably bringing the end of the whole match closer and closer, they would need to focus their efforts into protecting and/or hook denying, which isn't feasible while also making necessary progress.

  • Well, from my own way outdated experience, survivor have never tried to encourage/support non tunneling killer and instead on a grand average not missed one chance to instead rub in their wins.

So while I quit the game instead of starting to play win oriented at all cost aka tunneling etc, I can't blame only the killer, except for the exclusive toxic ones.

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

I still say remove player elimination and just have the match conclude once the killer gets 9 hooks (which is the equivalent of a 3k). Once the 9th hook occurs, all other survivors are grabbed by the entity.

In come the complaints about bad teammates (thanks to non-existent matchmaking still) wasting all hook counts while getting hard tunneled by the killer because they can't hold a chase for more than 10 seconds.

  • Sure, so long as there is still a bot taking the 3rd players place and preventing an immediate hatch spawn.

We can if the strats are deemed toxic or unfun just like the devs aare doing now with tunneling, slugging and camping

Sounds like the devs give you their little finger but you can't get enough and want rip the whole arm off.

Basic problem in society nowadays, you get anything and immediately feel entitled to everything.

  • hit and run/not committing to chase

Are you for real? Those are toxic strategies now?

    Pffffahahaha 🤣

You really just want a mindless bot running after you while you drop pallets on their head.

respawning all pallets on the map every time a generator is completed

Ahahaha sure, just like the other thread one or two weeks ago demanding all pallets to respawn every 1 or 2 minutes. 😂

  • All of them. I quit the game years ago 😜

  • @Skeleton23 said:

Then run perks or addons that sees survivors Aura like Clown has a Addon that allows him to see survivors auras when close to you. There are perks that do that maybe try them out

What has that to do with this thread? OP is complaining about getting hit through pallets, nothing to do with auras?

  • @StutteringSpartan said:

Why did they change the grading system so that you can’t drop to a lower grade? Poor survivors can perform poorly and still rank up, removing the ability for higher-skilled players to outgrade them.

Oh boy, I thought at this point everybody would know that grades have NOTHING to do with matchmaking and are only for monthly BP rewards, nothing else.

  • @iOverSpray said:

So when 5 gens pop and a killer has 0 hooks, can we abandoned penalty free as the games over?

Hahaha, good luck. When the matchmaker sets you up this bad you can only pray that the survivor don't 99 one or multiple gens and drag the match for as long as they can to gloat.

Maybe 60s is too short, 120s. Point is it hurts boring and unfun playstyles and helps new and casual players

New and casual SURVIVOR player because this change alone would wreck and turn away nooby killers.

Have you even thought about this from any other angle than the survivor perspective?

Against semi decent survivor 1-3 gens pop until the fist hook, where they have all their resources to drag ouz the chase.

Now imagine 60/120 seconds into the match with 2-3 gens left, the survivor suddenly have all their resources AGAIN and the killer will need another lengthy chase to get someone on the hook. Which gives the survivor another opportunity for 1-3 gens to pop.

An average match lasts how long? 5-10 minutes? That would mean survivor get ALL their map resources back either 5-10 or 2-4 times PER MATCH.

I really wish they would implement this change, no questions asked, only to show you how the game would implode in days.

  • Hahahaha 😂

    ...No.

  • Hahahaha 😂

As someone who hasn't played in years, I hope that the "....and more," includes some kind of "12 hook equally spread rewarding system" otherwise these forums will get really entertaining in the future.

Seeing Anti-Everthing there I am really curious to see how bhvr is going to (try not to) f it up. 😂 Their track record isn't looking too promising.

  • A) Horror isnt equal to gore pron like saw. (Even if that franchise is in this game, for nothing but the popularity)

    B) The 3d polygon models just aren't detailed enough and making it so that limbs can be torn off or torsos be split simply isn't worth it for bhvr.

I feel this. Sacrificial ward is must need nowdays unless you want to go to survivors favorite bouncycastle.

Auto Aim. I feel like its gotten worse. In 2v8 i keep getting + 10 wood and + 10 stone all the time even though im directly aiming to the survivor…makes me look at the sky in frustration.

    "Getting +10 wood/stone" 🤣

That took me a second. Thanks for the good laugh.

  • My biggest gripe was the helplessness you feel when you get outmatched by the matchmaking system. Because there is NO way for me to end the match until the survivor finish at least the gens. I won't catch, much less hook or kill, them and can't progress the state of the match in any meaningful way and am at the mercy of those survivors not to be total aholes that stop their progress to gloat.

  • @jake0snake0 said:

I've been getting 20-30 minute wait times for lobbies just for me to get teammates who can't down survivors, won't damage gens, break walls/pallets and don't get any hooks except for hooking people I downed. Is there just no mmr for who I'm playing with? I had some people just yesterday where we were killing all the survivors but today I've not gotten a single teammate who could do anything, what's the deal? Like if I have to wait for 30 minutes just to play I should at least be getting halfway decent teammates right?

Sounds like the usual solo queue survivor teammate according to these forums. They don't do gens, hook saves or anything useful while crouching after the killer chasing someone to get a borked flash save.

But do you know the irony? It might very well be one of those people. The 30 minute waiting bloat is exactly because many usual survivor favoring players are suddenly more interested in killer when they don't have to play completely alone.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Or you could hook people, which avoid this whole problem and it's literally the killers objective.

Good job missing half the post and focussing on the slugging part.

Half the post is about the fact that survivor at any point in the match, most probably when the killer is snowballing, can simply decide to throw the towel, rush the killer to get downed and then instantly abandon penalty free. In other words survivor have now the ability to cherry pock a match that goes their way or metaphorically flip the table.

And the most "fun" thing is that the killer then has to clean up after the party or suffer a loss when abandoning themselves.

(This opinion is based on hearsay and forum info since I haven't played for years and don't exactly know if the draw for the survivor simultaneously is a draw on the killer side or if the killer can still "win" or "lose" when abandoning.)

  • @PolarBear said:

This is a non-issue. If a game is lost I don't see a reason to force the last survivors to act as if they have a chance. If you had a person dead early people already gave up once they got hooked before the abandon feature.

And who defines if a match is lost? (Of course I know you only focus on the 4 people slug.)

But what about for example the swf that didn't get 3 gens done before first hook or simply doesn't like the killer/map and decides to rush the killer to get downed to be able quit without penalty or MMR loss.

What is the killer supposed to do in this scenario of survivor cherry picking matches that go their way?

The killer can't do anything but hitting/downing them and letting them have their way.

  • @Mandy said:

the difference in this case, is that survivors can do nothing about the being in dying state, however the killer can do a lot to force survivors out of the match.

The difference is that survivor no matter the circumstance with the exception of all being either on the floor, hook or dead, survivor can IMMEDIATELY dodge not only time waste but any subjective humiliation or necessity to try to turn the situation around.

Survivor also can have a multitude of perks or be in a spot where the killer might drop them of their shoulder but nothing of that sort is taking into consideration.

Couple that with the fact that survivor get a draw on abandoning while killer either have to play out a boring bot match or take a loss and it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Just hit them out, it takes 2 seconds.

Wrong, if the survivor want it can take however long. Simply hitting 4 healthy survivor over the finish line takes 8 hits plus weapon whipe.

Add to that perks and/or tools it can take even longer.

The ONLY scenario where it takes only a few seconds is when survivor willingly run straight over the line once the killer comes. Which, I admit, the scummy kind of survivor, that faints a free hit only to dodge last second over the line, really does.

  • Wasn't there an anti afk mechanic implemented that forces the killer to disconnect and eat a DC penalty?

I haven't played in years and only sporadically follow the game via the forums.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I had a meg today who brought a macmillan offering, failed to loop against the blight, tried to give up and got stopped, my friend tried to heal her and then she refused the heal and ran into the killer, we did the same again to try and help her and take hits for her, she ran at the killer again.

Stopping go next is literally not going to stop it if it's taking attempts quickly and then sacrificing yourself. People will just find new ways to do it, or do what other survivors do and start sabotaging the rest of the team throwing every pallet down despite not being in chase.

I don't know what this is going to achieve.

With a competent company this would lead to bans for grieving.

Or at least low priority queues for those people that give up/intentionally throw.

  • You, or rather the devs, can try all you/they want. It still remains an undeniable fact that DC penalties will have to stay to reign in the people mentioned by @Twiggsy .

There will always be entitled people that want their perfect match or rather can't deal with something not going the way they want and dipping.

And if your/the goal is to cater to everyone like that, then good luck, the goal is in fantasy land.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3921212#Comment_3921212

That would just incentivize bming then, and its again very single person centric. Why are 1-3 other people (who dont have revive perks) supposed to sit there through slug, and recover, because the person that went down has unbreakable?

How would the game distinguish boon expo? Would noone be allowed to abandon at all? Even if they are across the map from it?

You are mistaken from plot twist. The idea was that they didnt want people doing it just to get out of the match. Thats circumventing the games mechanics. People would beable to load into matches and slug themselves if they didnt like the killer/map if this wasnt implemented.

So for the killer side, the game would have to distinguish… if they arent weskers power…. the killer doesnt down someone before they are able to pick up in the exit gate… they dont have blood warden…. they dont have slingers power…. they dont have Knights Guard hunt add-on… they dont have draculas add-on….

Like how many rules are we coming up for this situation to justify its abandon feature here????

This is a silly idea no, push them out.

Its not a double standard as its just a ridiculous suggestion. They are not equivalent.

It's fascinating, seeing you defend survivor exclusivity for built-in toxicity avoiding mechanics.

In the beginning @Prometheus1092 didn't ask for having survivor to witness the Mori but for killer having the same option to avoid potential toxicity.

They didn't ask for a detriment to the survivor experience but for an equal QOL change for killer. But good job bit by bit twisting their narrative.

Also A) this isn't that hard to implement, just a series of true/false checks and B) the abandoning mechanic would be for people that DON'T WANT to try to get the pity kill. Again, not the original intention of neither this thread nor Prometheus.

  • I have no clue about this abandoning system but does it count the match as a win for survivor when killer abandone?

If yes, oh boy, that seems like the best way for extreme hiding squats. Or is not touching gens for a whole match taken into account somewhere?

  • @BirdiePlays said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3918291#Comment_3918291

No not at all, I believe both sides should have a chance to win. Its just its why they nerfed object back in the day, survivors used to use it for constant aura reading so they made it have a cooldown due to the unfairness it gave killers.

It feels the same here, except its more killer sided. Imagine if weave attunement focused as far, that would be a nightmare keke…but I already have my beef with weave. Thing is maybe aura perks need to be reworked in some way…? Maybe even give bp back for using bbq?

You are comparing apple and oranges with OoO and killer aura reading.

OoO was nerfed because it had no limitations. No activation requirement aside from looking, no timer, no range limit and no cooldown. It killed killer stealth and made mind games at tiles, which are imperative for many killer characters, impossible.

On the other hand, afaik, every killer aura reading has an activation condition and is time or range limited. Plus part of them already have a cooldown.

    @BirdiePlays said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3918289#Comment_3918289

Yes but at the same time there's killers who are skilled enough to not need gen regression perks, as in those who have insta-downs or are just amazing at the game (unlike myself when i play …any game). These days survivors kinda suck, swfs rely more on being toxic than doing generators, and that one solo queue survivor ends up getting the short end of the stick if these killers run full aura perks.

Also at the same time once the aura perk does its little timer animation you can add on the other one, say like BBQ triggers, then leathal adds on that extra 2 seconds. Then you go over to where you last saw that survivor and kick a gen for nowhere to hide, or open locker for darkness revealed.

Also this is such a non argument with a niche scenario.

"Because this specific killer character/player doesn't need full Gen slowdown and my teammates suck, killer tools (in this case aura reading) should be nerfed for every killer character/player to accommodate me as a pitiful solo player."

So can we say that because certain survivor player or builds are harder on other killer characters or less skilled players, everything should be nerfed for them?

Ive noticed i miss allot more with the flashlight as well. And my theory is it wasnt just flashbangs that were nerfed, but the blinding angle in general, you now have to be almost directly infront of the killer to blind even with a flashlight as it seems the side angle u used to be able to do is not possible anymore and requires you to aim more from the center of their vision. Like its went from 180 degrees to an 80 degree cone

That would be good since getting blinded from out of ones fov was ridiculous.

Don't chase hard, brake every breakable object in the map, take your time kicking every gen, play around with your power (for example exercise chainsaw sprint through tiles/around the map) and so on. Sometimes even going for straight up ignoring anyone going for aggravation and only playing with the rest, if it wasn't a full 4 man.

Also slug instead of pick up against flash lights. But my personal favorite useless and chill build contained action speed up perks like for example iron maiden, brutal strength and then rounded with my lord and Savior Lightborn. So I would always be equipped against flashlights, headons and for breaking/kicking everything comfortably.
