Oh no you don't have a discussion. Stacking aura reading would be nowhere NEAR as powerful as being able to theoretically stack MULTIPLE speed boosts per survivor.

I refuse to reiterate, not worth my time.

So do you believe the better player shouldn't be able to win then?

No not at all, I believe both sides should have a chance to win. Its just its why they nerfed object back in the day, survivors used to use it for constant aura reading so they made it have a cooldown due to the unfairness it gave killers.

It feels the same here, except its more killer sided. Imagine if weave attunement focused as far, that would be a nightmare keke…but I already have my beef with weave. Thing is maybe aura perks need to be reworked in some way…? Maybe even give bp back for using bbq?

  • @Crowman said:

People say this, but they never expand on why having multiple aura perks is some major crutch causing killers to auto-win games.

If an aura perk reveals you, a different aura perk triggering and revealing you doesn't do anything more. If a killer only has aura perks, they are lacking gen defense perks so gens should fly nor do they have perks to help end chases so they are solely reliant on the killer already having a good power to end chases.

Yes but at the same time there's killers who are skilled enough to not need gen regression perks, as in those who have insta-downs or are just amazing at the game (unlike myself when i play …any game). These days survivors kinda suck, swfs rely more on being toxic than doing generators, and that one solo queue survivor ends up getting the short end of the stick if these killers run full aura perks.

Also at the same time once the aura perk does its little timer animation you can add on the other one, say like BBQ triggers, then leathal adds on that extra 2 seconds. Then you go over to where you last saw that survivor and kick a gen for nowhere to hide, or open locker for darkness revealed.

Comparing exhaustion to aura reading lol.

yeah I already know I'm gonna have someone make fun of me for this. Troll elsewhere please. I want engaging discussion as to where people want/don't want such a change maybe? not just what you said. If someone can make a straightforward thoughtful post on this maybe prove me wrong somehow.

    Yes, it's frustrating, I know.

I was used to always reporting cheaters with video evidence and tickets. In my last three years, I've collected 20+ of these videos.

I've given up on that now, too. I don't have the time anymore to regularly open a ticket and potentially ban the cheater, which usually takes 15 minutes or more.

It's their problem, and they should address the issue if it's worth it to them.

Until this is resolved comprehensively and competently, I won't spend any more money on the game.

the thing is he named himself after a ttv in the dbd server, and that ttv just now got banned…wrongfully.

It's a completely manual process, bans are usually issued justifiably.

However, there have also been unjustified bans in the past (e.g., cheaters using known Twitch IDs).
In most cases this does not happen but I cannot give a complete all-clear here either.

Overall, this cheatert/hacker issue is handled rather unprofessionally in this game.

I really hope that I don't get hit with it just for looking for a survive with friends group in the dead by daylight serverserver

  • @Senaxu said:

Good luck with the ticket. It usually takes longer for you to file a report than it takes for the cheaters to get a new account.

I had loaded into a dbd discord group match in the dbd server, i didnt know the person in the group was a hacker and he trapped everyone in the lobby. i wouldn't get banned for something I didn't know/do would I?

If I am on The Game as Billy and chase someone far away from the Hook (or even search for someone or traverse the map), I am not camping, yet my 40m Terror Radius would make the Bar go up.

Yet that Wraith makes Bing Bong and would be able to stand right next to the Hook.

ok set it this way then. IF YOU CAMP…and your would be terror radius is within hook range? the bar should SLOWLY go up. also when killers decide to slug a survivor at the hook just to camp? that needs to stop too.

Survivor definitely has issues, but most of the time it comes down to killer kits being buns

the auto hit box crap needs to go… I can't count how many times I have been robbed of a hit due to auto aim.

  • @brewingtea said:

I agree. I hate map offerings, and I refuse to use them because it feels like cheating.

However, they said they were going to rework them so they're way less powerful. I still won't use them, but it will be a lot harder to abuse them…

i hope so, as a baby, i hate being matched up with p100 swfs sending me to rpd or eerie.

This would make it unfair for Killers who have a large Terror Radius. I mean, sure those Killers are also the Killers who can get back to the Hook really quickly, but you might not even be near a Survivor and feed them Anti-camp. Especially on some maps.

Also, Undetectable and Killers who can become Undetectable would just camp. Let alone that if you are oblivious, you would also not have a meter filling up, since you on Hook dont hear the TR.

then don't camp, that simple. :)

Perhaps you're thinking of Wraith's add-on, "All Seeing" - Blood, which reveals Survivor's auras within 8 meters of him while cloaked.

As for Myers, the only other related add-on is the Vanity Mirror which lets him see Survivors in a 16 meter radius around him, and that has also been that way since his release.

I'm just outing how stupid I am here, maybe I should educate myself and stop getting high lol

  • i could have sworn it was 8 meters…I wonder if I'm thinking about a different add-on on either him or another killer.

Sounds like just one bad experience man. Trapper isn't a good killer, you shouldn't expect to get any kills as him tbh, especially against a swf of that skill level

its always like that though, its why i rarely play killer. Whenever i do i get the sweaty p100 swfs sending me to every map that they have advantage. As a survivor I truly think they have too much against killers like wraith, or trapper and piggy

  • @T1MEXII said:

I agree, Trapper is awful still and against a swf, gg. I also agree map offerings are badly designed, I hate RNG in this game but I think maps should be the exception.

I just wish trapper started with four traps instead of two, even with add-ons trapper still needs to set up… against a full p100 pc swf? i got my ass kicked… im just a console trapper.

  • I think they need to make it if you can hear the terror radius, the bar slowly goes up.

    32 meters.

Scratched Mirror gives Myers aura reading in a 32 meter radius around him.

if you don't miind me asking when was that changed? I havent played mikey in a hot min

Dropping your item in the corner, which takes maybe 10 seconds to do, effectively deativates 2 of the killers perks.

Would you rather the killer run 4 slowdowns instead?

yes actually I WOULD. Compared to constant wall hacks with no cooldown. Scratch mirror mikey at least has to stalk through a wall at 8 meters, piggy (believe at 12?) slowdown is better compared to smacking items out of survivors hands. we can't stop killers from using their addons permanently, so why should they be able to take our items?

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Franklins by itself is fine, but I'm still convinced that weave attunement is too much value for one perk.

It's got the value of at least 4 perks in one:

    • You have to drop your item at the start of the match, revealing your position. (Lethal pursuer)
    • You have to go drop said item in a corner somewhere, which is mandatory travel time before you can jump on gens (corrupt intervention).
    • You lose the immediate use of your item without going to collect it. (Item counter)
    • It's wall hacks if any of your teammates don't understand what to do. (This is the actual aura read of the perk)
    • For whatever reason, it also makes you oblivious.

And I'm going to point out, that the first two are the value the killer gets for the survivors "successfully countering" this perk. And no, you don't even have to run franklins to get that value, since anyone with a brain cell is going to see Weave and just assume you have franklins (even if you don't run it also).

So you get this entire list for just running weave attunement, even without franklins.

I love the downvotes here being killer mains that probably use it. I thought of this myself but had no idea how to word myself here without looking like a fool x.x but yes I think weave needs to be reworked to a certain number of items instead of completely covering the map with them.

  • @LordJester said:

This perk only works with basic attacks so killers that mostly use their M2 doesn't use this perk. I'm actually glad to see a killer use Franklin's Demise than another generator slowdown perk.

Weave Attunement's aura range got nerfed from 12 meters to 8 metres and the item is revealed to you so you can make a rough estimate of the aura range. Plus it shows the Weave Attunement's icon when your aura is revealed by this perk.

When was it nerfed? I remember them raising it to 12 meters.

  • Speaking from experience.

I have been in many a game where the killer ragequits or just flat out leaves. It DOES take away pips and it does make sure you don't get crap in terms of bloodpoints especially if the killer leaves before you can do jack squat.

Whoever keeps telling you guys that you don't depip is fulla crap. You lose a pip sometimes two depending on the allotted time of the round before the killer leaves.

From what I understand, there is no system in place that can determine why a person DCs (purposeful DC, internet died, game crashed, etc.), so they don't punish people who DC because they cannot prove intent. People do get in trouble if they DC too often.

Surely, it can't be too difficult to code a system where the game can detect when someone presses "Leave Game" or "Quit Game" vs someone who leaves without doing either of them.

But then there’s the matter of WHY someone left the game through the pause menu:
Maybe they had to leave for an important family thing; maybe they needed to leave realising they’re late for an event; maybe ssomeone has been hurt or injured, or a crime in progress in house or nearby and they need to respond; or maybe they left because they’re just not having fun and want to be matched with other players they may have more fun playing with, or play another game.

I don’t know about you but I’d rather not see the game punish people who need to leave for legitimate, personal, or life-involving reasons because a few intentionally disconnect for the sole purpose of ruining the game.

If a Killer disconnects, Survivors should get 10k-ish bloodpoints and their offerings returned if the game was shorter than 3 minutes. If Survivors disconnect a Killer should be given more than 650 or however many it is bloodpoints.

By the way, OP, Survivors do not lose pips if the Killer disconnects at the very start. The game says ‘0’, and doesn’t deduct pips, even though the gauge doesn’t reach the black pip.
I actually just got out of a match where the killer dc'd in seconds of it starting. I lost two pips and so did my friend. I went from rank 5 to 6 because of it. So don't feed people the bs that it doesn't deduct pips
