I didn't say it was BM, I said it sent mixed messages, nor did I say the killer was the victim, I said he could've misinterpreted your intentions because he was already tilted.
Are you actually reading what I'm writing?
Yes, they are. As am I. And it's clear you like to see the killer in the most charitable light possible while immediately assuming the worst of survivors. It's your shtick.
-
Nurse, Hillbilly, Huntress, Leatherface. I'd rather chew glass than play as any of them.
The survivor ones where you need to escape with a new item or open the exit gate as a particular survivor. So much luck involved.

Seems like different people have fun doing different things, huh? Also, those builds aren't even that unfun to verse; if I wanted to make people miserable I'd run Iri Head + Ebony Mori or something. And doesn't seem like you read when I use moris. I use them after A). 3 bad games in a row and I am stressed and just wanna kill some people or B). I see at least 3 of them in SWF all with flashlights. But yeah I am sure your way of relaxing after some stressful games is better than mine :^)
Lol. If I want to relax I don't play dead by daylight. It's not meant to be relaxing. But keep rationalizing :^)
-
Second killer seemed to do really well, tho?
First match looks like it sucked for him. Hopefully he or she learned something you guys weren't ***** to them.
-
2020 and still can't counter the flashlight lol
-
Can't wait for Candyman!
-
I'm sure they go where the demand is. I'd rather they didn't make cosmetics just because a character hasn't had one in a while.

Also this!
It takes multiple minutes to find a game usually. There's no reason for you to not have your perks, offerings, items, etc ready to go when a game opens up.
I know it's just a minute but still, let's get this show on the road people!!!
I love when one of the players needs to cycle through every single one of his survivors before readying up. Like, what have you been doing the past 3, 5, 10 minutes??
-
@Boss said:
Readying up.
Whenever somebody doesn't ready up I brace for "this match has been canceled because a player disconnected."
-
@Almo said:
One small thing I'd like people not to do is wait to exit the match after there's nothing left to do. Hatch is open, they're on it, and they just wait for me to come by to jump in. Like somehow it's important for me to see them jump in. I'm just thinking, "Nice job, you got the hatch! Now let's move to the next match as soon as possible." :)
If a survivor jumps into the hatch and a killer isn't around to see it, did it actually happen?
-
Staying close to the hook in order to protect it from unhooks or using it as bait to start a new chase.
Camping itself is a neutral term. There are situations where camping is obviously 100% justified and the smartest choice you can make. Or it can be because you are new and scared to take the chance of not finding another survivor. Or you could just be straight up trolling. Camping is not automatically a bad or malicious thing.
-
Seems more like a failure on the devs' part in creating a wider variety of fun and useful perks for survivors to choose from rather than survivors simply being "boring."
Most new perks are so situational you barely get any use out of them. Like Diversion is a neat concept but it takes FORTY FIVE seconds of being undetected in the killer's TR to activate. Why not make the initial requirement lower and then give it a cooldown? Especially considering there are so many killers who either often have no TR or their TR is tiny so good luck getting one use out of the perk.

Because farming is the SECOND purpose, but this thread is about the FIRST purpose.
And as I understand farming, that would also include tunneling. Survivors farm the hooked person to get the 1k BP, not caring about the person being downed again. Same outcome to the hooked survivor, therefore the same purpose: not being hooked twice within a short amount of time without a chance to escape.
And the argument with the two minutes underlines it. This even supports the view of several mentionings when killers were able to down several people or hook at least another person within that time and suddenly get d-striked without having intentionally tunneled. This is pretty much the situation I read from Horvath they wanted to avoid. Not arguing that one minute is too long, but when he says "2 minutes is too long and out of purpose to protect" reads pretty much as "I did not tunnel but got d-striked"
Farming does not include tunneling. If a survivor farms another off the hook right in the killer's face then it's not tunneling unless they were camping with intent to tunnel.. and it would be a smart move to hit the unhooked. If they have BT then it's triggered and now healing will take an extra 8 seconds for them. If they don't then they immediately go down and you now chase the farmer, creating a large amount of pressure on the survivors.
But anyway, you point out in your own comment that DS has at least two purposes. So right off the bat the idea that DS is strictly an anti tunneling perk is proven false.
-
@Deadeye said:
And it is pretty funny, that this article is linked and same time saying that the idea of being an anti tunnel perk is coming from the community. I'd rather say the idea comes exactly from this post
Why didn't you highlight the very next word.. farmed? Because that right there shows at least two different intentions for the perk.
But regardless, nowhere does Horvath say that is its only purpose. He is saying a 2 minute timer gives it too broad of a scope.
-
Are you under the impression if the forum is filled with DS nerf posts the devs are more likely to take action or something?
-
No. If the exit gate is opened it means the remaining survivors have the advantage, as they should. I'm not sure why you think this is a good idea on top of the EGC.
-
This can finally be put to rest, right?
RIGHT?! π₯΄

yeaβ¦.I am saying to counter the hatches you should avoid vaulting over windows and pallets
hatches, a power for the huntress
hell I didn't know billy and bubba had hatches!
A good way to counter iridescent heads is to get into a locker and just never come out for the whole match. Completely nullifies the huntress' power. I hope the devs nerf this broken survivor strategy.
You know what the worst thing is? If survivors don't move they don't trigger Hag or Trapper's traps. It's broken. Can't believe it's been in the game for years and the devs do nothing about it!

You know what can save you from Billy and Bubba?
Windows and vaults.
Oops sorry. I forgot your advice is to stop using those things.

And as a huntress player, 11000 blood points for both iri heads and belt is rediculous. I would only run them in a kyf situation.
Personally, the yellow glove and the brown exhaustion are her best value add ons for me. 7000 BP for easy to get items. No crying postgame. Win win
11,000 is ridiculous? Really? When killers can use BBQ and easily make 50k+ BP per match? You get 11k bp after playing for less than 5 minutes lol.
So not only do you think iridescent heads are fine balance wise, but you also think they are too expensive. π
-
Enjoy 20k bp games LOL
-
Avoid vaulting pallets or windows...
Ah, so the counter is to simply stop using 90% of the survivors' defenses! Why didn't we think of that?! It's genius!
No it's an absurdly powerful add on. Imagine thinking being able to instadown a survivor from across the ######### map is balanced.
-
And this is after a big map nerf to survivors. I don't think things are going to get any better for you. If you're not doing well now, when the game is more balanced for killers than it has ever been in its history, then I'm not sure you ever will.
-
I posted about this before. Once I got to level 50 for Spirit, more than half of my bloodwebs had an ebony mori. That's insane and nowhere even close to "ultra rare." It was never addressed so I guess things are working as intended.
-
I think so, too, tbh.
-
Queues are long enough as is but people are proposing a change that would make them even longer? No thanks.
I would be cool with a daily log in bonus of 50k BP or something (or a first game of the day 50k bonus) but all this change would do is screw over people who don't have 4+ friends who play DBD.

literally no one still gave me a reason to call this a counter WHEN THE SURVIVOR WAS DYING FOR EGC ANYWAYS this is what happens when people mains one single role in the game and they don't even read the discussions before defending their role with a comment.
Look here my stats of DbD https://dbd.onteh.net.au/playerstats/76561198246439888/, you can clearly see by every number that I don't main any role. You will say: "hey but you're rank 9 as killer" well the reason is that as someone commented I needed braindead survivors so I spent the last days playing killer like a boosted idiot deranking from red ranks until I sdon't find toxic heads anymore to try the archievement again. It's not fair for the noobs, but if the normal people hide in lockers dying anyways just to be toxic, this is my only way.
So you're so desperate for the achievement that you are purposefully playing like ######### so you can go up against players you are far better than, ruining everyone's experiences along the way, so you can get the achievement no problem? At what point does it stop being an "achievement?" You're basically cheating.
BTW not handing you an achievement you didn't earn isn't toxic.
-
I will 100% jump in a locker every time a Myers runs this build. Not because I give a ######### about whether or not he gets an achievement (a meaningless thing that has no effect on you if you don't get, btw), but because those add ons are BS and there's a reason no other killer has add one like that. Also, as pointed out above, if the killer is that thirsty for the achievement then it's a smart strategic move to stall him as long as possible.
This is so far down the list of needed changes that I can't see the devs ever getting to it.

Bitter murmur, rancor, hex:haunted ground, noed, pigs traps
Bitter Murmur you can avoid by being out of range or in a locker. Rancor is unavoidable but you can plan ahead because it has a tell. You can get yourself far away from the killer and hide until the coast is clear. Hex: Haunted Ground has a tell and it lasts 60 seconds once. NOED can be completely countered. Pig traps are easy to get off unless you're being tunneled, in which case the timer doesn't go down and if they are following you crouched you are screwed either way.
Regardless, the fact that a "mechanic" exists does not mean we should add more to it or that every implementation of that mechanic is good. In fact, I don't think Rancor or NOED are good for the game at all as designed.
In what way am I wrecked? The argument went as follows:
"I think [perk change] is a good idea."
"I think it's a bad idea because..."
"Yeah but that kind of stuff is already in the game."
So if they added another kind of DS perk it's okay because there's already one in the game?
Sure wrecked me.

They could negotiate before the deal is made. Leatherface for example has multiple skins in Mortal Kombat but we donβt have any, so it is possible.
Leatherface was added into the game early. Well before the store was added to the game and well before the pass. They got to add the four original survivors' faces for him. They weren't making money off cosmetics back then as much as they are now.

@ermsy said:
Or it should block all windows
So if I'm running the killer around on the other side of the map I should get ######### over because my teammates are doing the objective? Huh?
Guess I'll have to go run into the new deadzones instead. Great balance.

My way of relaxing is just any form of Bubba build.
Face-camp: Insidious, NOED, Franklin's, Whispers
Slug: Knock Out, Infectious Fright, NOED, Whispers
Or, of course, just any tryhard build with an ebony mori if I see 3 survivors with flashlights and 1 with a key.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1256465#Comment_1256465
Survivors really do complain about anything. I once did a meme game where I only took NOED as my perk. I only hooked 2 survivors in the time they did 5 gens. I managed to kill 3 of them in the EGC and one person was standing on top of the hatch. Needless to say they were salty as ever because "NOED is so broken op"
I like how your idea of "relaxing" is to make others' games as unfun as possible. And how you admit how much you rely on crutches like NOED and moris.
-
No. And I don't use "second chance" perks.
-
Yeah that would be a very fun gameplay experience for survivors. More staring at progress bars. Sign me up!
Let's give the exit gates, opening chests, throwing down pallets and unhooking survivors skill checks, too!
-
Do you know how many seconds it saves the survivors?

I have fun, no matter if I win or not. But if the gens are getting popped every single minute and the match last for 5 minutes then how is it FUN and enjoyable for killers?
Sorry but if the gens are always popping in minutes then you're not good at the game. It's unfortunate that the devs allowed people to rely on the crutch that is Ruin for years but now it's time to adapt, as killer mains love to tell survivors.
-
You know what's SUPER fun? Getting mori'd. Such a blast. Love queuing up for 5 minutes, loading into the trial for 2, getting stuck in a deadzone then camped or proxy camped by a killer absolutely fiending for that first mori. A 7+ minute wait for a 3-5 minute game.
-
I mean, I have fun and unfun matches on both sides. If you can only have fun when you get a 3 or 4k then you need to play a different game. It's not exactly fun getting ######### tunneled or camped every couple of games but you take the good with the bad.
-
Is this satire?

@CosmicParagon said:
Which Killers play it? There's a few specific Killers that to quite well on The Game, like Trapper, Doc, Myers and Ghostface. The majority of Killers don't really benefit from it thanks to having several god pallets, and lots of relatively safe pallets
Those ones or Nurse, Hag, Spirit and Legion. You are almost always within blink/teleport/killer instinct/phasing range with them. Add in stuff like Surveillance and Discordance and good luck getting gens done as a solo against a halfway decent killer.

It isn't too much information when swf already have it for free.
I think that's a valid point as well. But not everyone feels that way. And as a solo player I would be happy if the devs gave us something to help. I'm one of the people that goes around doing totems as I see them (or if gens aren't going fast enough I will make a mental note of where they are in case NOED does pop up), but you know if a counter was just added for everyone then a good chunk of the playerbase would lose its ######### because they can't rely on NOED anymore.
15 seconds is probably too long, tho, as others have pointed out.

Thats not quite fair to say. The game didnt have SWF at the start because it wasnt intended. Then they added it and, yeah. In a game.like this it absolutley destroys balance. Its like have OoO without the killer seeing you while having extra wallhacks, forcing the killer to run terror radius enlarging perks all the while so many people in this community look at it and go " UuGhH SWF iS tOtAlLy FiNe, KiLlErS jUsT wAnT 4KEZ gIt GuD bBy KiLlEr."
TL;DR it isnt about winning or losing, its about being forced into a game where you literally can't do anything except get t-bagged and insulted cuz killer.
That is a blatant lie. Multiple devs have confirmed SWF was always intended. And I'm pretty sure it was added very shortly after release, meaning they had been working on it for some time.
Please stop spreading misinformation.
-
I think over a year ago, maybe even two, one of the devs said on a stream that don't expect the iridescent heads to be around much longer. So they know they're stupidly powerful. The problem is they don't dedicate enough time to balance. They generally don't seem to do much to killers unless they are focused on a rework of them. Huntress doesn't need a rework, just a few add on changes. That's not a high priority for them so it gets consistently overlooked.
Also LOL @ the person who said they cost a "ton" of resources.

Ehhhhhhh, I mildly agree. When my husband and I first started playing this game a few months back, we dealt with constant DC's during the load screen. Stopping his from doing it took me optimizing his PC and some Youtube videos to make this game run as smoothly as possible on a potato. Mine was literally just my controller, and that took me some fiddling to figure out. Never seen a game where if you have the controller plugged in during loading, you crash, and only on the first load screen of that playthrough. The recent patch seems to have cleared that up though.
Thankfully during this time there wasn't DC penalties. If there had been, we'd have ended up on a 24 hour timer and quit. There was just too much testing and adjustments that had to be made to make it run properly, by no fault of our own. Even the husband's potato has specs over what is suppose to be required.
Ninja Edit: And the reason I mildly agree, is DCing is a problem during games, but... Lets be real here, now people just suicide on hook if they want to rage quit.
I thought you didn't get a penalty if you DC before the match loads in?
-
I mean even if you don't stop the gen in time you can still take advantage of the zero terror radius. I feel like combined with the killer version of Dark Sense it's pretty decent. I can't think of the name right now
-
If the emblem system is so bad then simply stop paying attention to it! What do you think you're gonna get when you get to rank 1? Absolutely nothing. There is zero difference between rank 1 and rank 4. Even when the matchmaking was working correctly, there was a 6 rank limit above and below that you could be matched with. And as peanits said there were two kills and two escapes. That's a good match for everyone.
What you basically want is the game to pat you on the back and say you're a big boy, you did a good job!
