Funny enough my husband and I were just talking about possibility of mine dying because every time he hears it when DBD is loading he gets worried because no other time does it make sounds like that.
He got a ps5 when they came out because he was able to pre-order it. He was going to get me one too but I was like "nope, my ps4 still works and we just bought a house, I can wait and maybe get one on sale when they're not so limited." If my ps4 does die (fingers crossed it doesn't) we still have his ps4 so I will have something until upgrading.
I won't be playing DBD on that though and risk killing it if my ps4 dies because he still has the PT demo on his ps4.

I'm definitely lucky that I've avoided serious injury between being accident prone and all the dumb stuff I've done. Nothing lasting or severe enough for a hospital visit. Pretty sure it's genetic because my dad was ridiculously accident prone and my siblings also have a variety of dumb injury stories. Funny enough my dumb injuries are nothing compared to my siblings. They have some pretty bad ones being 70s/80s kids, but like me managed to be nothing lasting or hospital worthy.
Brothers with cousins were building forts with old wood boards way back in woods behind my grandparents house - brother when he tells story says it was 2 miles away from house but my dad said it was more like 200 ft, just far enough to not have house in view but not actually THAT far. Brother managed to get nail in his head with board attached because no one noticed a nail was in one of the boards they used on the roof and was sticking out enough that when he stood up while someone was standing on roof the nail was able to go in far enough to stick. It wasn't in deep, just enough to freak him and rest out to go have an adult take care of it instead of being injury where they act like nothing happened. He ended up walking through the woods trying to avoid trees back up to the house for my grandmother the nurse to remove and clean up. 😂
Other brother decided he wanted to try a bike trick by spinning the handles on bike he had. One side of the handle bars had protective rubber covering missing so was just nice sharp metal. He pedaled full speed, barely lifted front up when he went to spin handle so it only spun like half way. Bike abruptly stopped because wheel was sideways, metal handle went into my brother's stomach enough to leave nice red circle, and then he flipped over the handle bars. We have pics in old photo albums of him holding his shirt up to show off the handle bar mark with a bloody nose, smile, and holding a thumb up. This was also when you only had like maybe 30 pictures on a roll of film and had to get it developed so weren't as likely to waste pictures since you were limited to how many you could take and cost to develop them - dumb injury in my family was considered a Kodak moment and worth one of the few pics on the roll of film. 😂

I have a ridiculous amount of dumb injury stories. I so accident prone it's not even funny.
When I was in college went to a concert that was 3+ hours away. We arrived at like 1pm to wait outside since it was general admission and we wanted to be upfront. Friends I was with kept complaining about me walking across streets instead of running because "it's rude to the drivers." So finally I'm like "fine, I'll run" and halfway across I manage to step in the only pothole in the street. Felt my ankle pop, tore my favorite jeans in the knee and skinned it pretty good. So I limped rest of the way to the venue, sat on the ground by the entrance and waited for the doors to open. When they opened I sucked up the pain to run up the stairs in the venue, stood up front against the barricades for the concert dealing with the push and pull of the mosh pit. After concert limped back to the car and took my shoe off, ankle was super swollen - look like a tennis ball was where the bump in my ankle was supposed to be. Next day ankle was pretty colors, I wrapped and iced it. Luckily it healed up fine, no lasting damage or hospital visits needed.
When I was a kid I was playing a game in my front yard with bunch of other kids from my street. I had decided to play barefoot because more often than not in the summer I avoided wearing shoes. During one of the times running around I somehow managed to have my big toe roll under my foot. This would be one of many times I've injured that big toe.
As a kid in early 90s and with family of smokers I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings, adults standing around smoking weren't paying attention to kids running around, I ran right into a lit cigarette that was in someone's hand hanging at their side. Luckily was just my eyelid and quick burn but it hurt a ton and wasn't fun to heal. I definitely paid more attention after that when running around the adults.
As a kid I was playing with an old rusty Swiss army knife trying to shave bark off a branch. Cut my thumb and it was bleeding a ton. I didn't say anything, just tried to take care of it on my own by using styptic pencils we had and bandaids. Pretty sure my dad figured out what I did since I 1. usually didn't use bandaids on cuts/scrapes and 2. had recently told me to not use that rusty knife when I had been checking it out before. He didn't say anything but the rusty knife disappeared, I was given a new not rusty Swiss army knife and given a talk about how to safely use it not long after. 😂
One time I when I was home from college I had my long standing mirror leaning against a wall in my room which was in basement. It being one of those cheap ones every store sells around time kids are getting ready for college the trim on bottom and one side had pealed away. I was running by it one time barefoot and managed to catch side of my foot on it. It tore off chunk of corner of my pinky toe (including bit of nail) and sliced into bit just below nail on toe next to pinky.

Mandy do you know if they considered at end of EGC timer just having the match end with no additional sacrifice points for killer? I think it giving killers sacrifices is why so many think it's supposed to be a tool for them rather than just ending the match to prevent hostage situations. Could change to have the match end - no additional sacrifice points for killer or escape points for survivor - as a way to make it clear it's just to end a match and nothing more.

I'm always explaining the same thing to my swf teammate, it's so annoying. We started playing at same time, I've just played bit more than him and understand the game mechanics better. I swear it's just because he doesn't like that his youngest sibling knows more so he refuses to listen even when he is the one asking question about the game. 🤦♀️

That might actually have been what happened though, which is interesting.
I hope you're able to get a ps5 soon because that really sucks that your ps4 died when it's still a pain to get a new ps5.
With how my ps4 sounds every time I load in DBD I worry each time it's going to break my ps4. No other game causes my ps4 to do that.

Someone in other thread showed us how his ps4 was running DBD great and we said his ps4 must be blessed. Week later his ps4 died and now he's trying to get a ps5. I think DBD running fine on old consoles means either the frame drops seem normal to the player or the system is overworking itself to run the game fine and is killing itself.

Gaming news sites aren't monitoring the forums. Would need to contact them and hope they would say something but odds are they won't. Last time DBD got bunch of bad reviews on steam because of the Twins patch IGN randomly decided (or more likely paid by BHVR) to re-review DBD and gave it a 9/10.
Could try to get some streamers to bring attention to it but most don't care about console experience because they're on pc, high end ones so they're not having any performance issues. If streamers start speaking up that'd get attention of gaming websites or BHVR much better since they have more influence over players decisions.

The other survivor had no way of knowing the other four totems were down though, unless they were running small game or on comms with you.
This is why the totem counter should've been baseline.
They also counted on being the one to go back to that totem instead of the possibility of them being the one to be downed by NOED. The whole "go back to the totem you saw if NOED activates" is only a good idea if you're not the one on the hook.

It's fine. EGC is only meant to end hatch stand offs or survivors refusing to leave for extended period of time. Killers have misinterpreted it to think it's supposed to be a tool for them to get sacrifices when it's just to stop the game from being held hostage. I wish they'd rework EGC to just have match end with no additional sacrifice points for killer and no escape points for survivor if survivors have not exited the game.

I had a match where I cleansed 4 totems but killer had NOED. Killer downed someone as soon as last gen was completed. When I found the last totem it was right next to the gen that player had completed by themself at the start of the match (myself and other two were across the map at the time). That player died on first hook during the end of the match because they didn't cleanse that one dull totem and by time I found and cleansed that totem there wasn't much time left to save them.

That's a good spot for a Haunted Grounds totem. Also good spot to catch a survivor out in the open distracted by a lit totem instead of on a gen or well hidden spot cleansing a totem out of view.

That's the first time on the new logo I've seen the skulls still there. This is the one I've seen multiple times and the skulls are removed from the logo.
Funny, on forums they have both new one without skulls and old one with skulls at the top on mobile.

Drama has them getting more views on videos. The die hard fans are going to watch the videos of both to see what content creator 1 is saying and what content creator 2 is responding with. The fans may be spewing hate in chat/comments but they're still adding to the view counts on YouTube/Twitch. Couple weeks (or sooner) from now drama will move onto someone else and everyone will forget this current drama.
This is just standard unnecessary drama for attention that's been a thing for longest time. Thanks to social media you end up seeing it way more often and it's in all sorts of communities. I've seen it between comedians, authors, actors, musicians etc. One month they're stirring up drama with eachother, next month they're buddies.

It's so ######### disheartening to see that BHVR legitimately doesn't seem to care about people who don’t play on high-end PC's.
It's so disappointing to see them genuinely not care at all about console players or low end pc players. They're losing players that want to play but can't enjoy the game because the performance is so terrible. I always thought being an indie dev they'd care more about the players than the bigger devs but they've shown that's not the case. 😔

I'm planning to let all survivors get their crowns and leave. I'm not a fan of preventing players from getting a limited time event cosmetic.

I feel like the brightness on the new Coldwind maps wicked hurts my frames. I used to not care being sent to Coldwind but now I dread everytime I load into it.

I'm playing right now and my survivor wait is maybe 2 minutes tops. I have crossplay off though so think that helps since so many console killers turn off crossplay.

We considered getting the RE DLC but with the response someone else showed from BHVR pretty much saying optimization won't happen we've decided to definitely not buy it.

We have this recent post (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/245229/rant-its-becoming-harder-and-harder-to-enjoy-this-game-due-to-poor-optimization/p1) with multiple videos of the FPS drops in the game for both survivors and killers and BHVR hasn't shown any signs of caring that so many are experiencing issues with their game being poorly optimized :(

As I mentioned, I didn't record the match nor take screenshots because I didn't expect this to happen. Unless there's a way to record a specific match you've played before, I don't think I can do anything else other than an in game report, unfortuantely.
Unfortunately if you don't provide proof just the ingame report currently doesn't do anything - although based on the anniversary stream that should be changing in future. Could send down ticket explaining what happened without proof just so they have record (assuming they keep records) so if the Meg does it again and someone else reports with proof there's multiple accounts of it happening.

Either the pig gets pissed and kills us quickly or the pig is pleased and tries to let us live but we have her kill us anyway. 😂 Well atleast we try to have her kill us, some are really good at dropping a survivor at the exit forcing us out even if we try to stay in. 😂

Facts.
In different match my swf teammate cleansed a Haunted Grounds at beginning while I was already injured in a chase. I was like "atleast I'm injured" but killer broke off chase with me (totally didn't have to) to go down a healthy survivor.
Those obvious lit totems, gets our teammates every time we cleanse them. 😂

I spawned on other side of wall from a hex totem the other day. It was Haunted Grounds. Ended the killers first chase quick. 😬😂

Not that I know of but I don't think they care. They're on PCs that run fine so not something that is even on their radar. Maybe one will see this thread and share the clips in a video but they're more likely to focus on the repetitive nerf/buff arguments that'll get them views than BHVR still not optimizing console.

Both are equally entitled. Someone that plays more survivor will say killer, someone that plays more killer will say survivor. Both ask for dumb nerfs and buffs. Both think there's some rule book the other should follow. Bother think the other one is more toxic.

I love when it's a player that hasn't been hooked yet leading the killer to other players that are on death hook. 🙄
When I'm being chased I try to lead killer away from the unfinished gens but so many lead the killer to those gens in hopes of losing the killer. 🤦♀️
I usually try to get the gens done first in areas that are go to looping areas like shack or main building. That way later on there's less chance of them interrupting players on gens unless they are trying to lose the killer by having them go after the other survivors.

Who needs comms when you can have your game freeze instead to tell you the perks players are using. Freeze when hit? Sloppy. Freeze not long after? Survivor is still in chase and has DH equipped.

Yesterday when I was playing a match my game froze at the beginning for a second while I was running because someone across the map was hit with sloppy butcher. I was happy I was in middle of running to objective and not on gen with a skill check. I was thinking how it isn't even the status effect popping up on MY screen causing it, the game performance is so bad it freezes for a second when anyone gets that status effect popping up. Almost like it's freezing everyone to make sure it only pops up on one person and that it's the right person. 🤦♀️

Rift challenges to "sacrifice survivors" cause killers to tunnel out survivors to guarantee atleast one sacrifice per match.

Every "nerf NOED" post players are told to use Small Game/Detectives Hunch and everytime the response is "I'm not going to use a perk slot for totems." The only players that will use Counterforce are those that already use Small Game/Detectives Hunch and prefer Counterforce or those going for Adept.

I had a day where I had the Game 5 times in a row - no offerings to go there. I just turned off DBD for the night after that.
So many times I just see same map over and over and over.... It's amazing there's so many yet in single day without an offering played you just end out on one.

They can be. I think they're great for getting survivors off gens, tbh feel like that's more useful than what the actual effect is.
Huntress Lullaby? Survivors see that hex pop up and they scatter looking for the totem instead of working on gens.
Thrill of the Hunt? Survivor sees that, not only do you get their location and slow down totem cleanse while it's up but they then wonder if you're protecting dull totems because NOED and go looking for rest of totems.
NOED either you have survivors off gens to prevent NOED or you down one and watch end game snowball.

A bunch are on Twitter and have the info in their bios. I'd rather not name because feel like there are some in the forums that'd go harass. Also on BHVR website in the About section has the "management team" which are CEO and VPs - most companies list these on their websites if you ever want to know the people at the top.

Keep seeing articles pop up about how it's in Sony's and game developers best interest to continue to include PS4 in their plans instead of just focusing on PS5. Hopefully BHVR realizes that the pandemic has changed things and that optimizing last gen will not be a wasted effort because so many are not only on the last gen but will be some time before people switch - either do to financial reasons or availibility due to semi-conductor shortages. Here's recent piece I read and couple bits I thought fit in our discussions about how last gen shouldn't be ignored.
The pandemic has changed things, and there's a new audience of PS4 customers in need of things to play
