I like it, just wish they had something to indicate what rooms have gens. Once I get used to the map I think I'll really enjoy it.
-
I like the map, I just wish there was something to indicate gens are in rooms. Feel like spend most the match searching each room for a gen.

Most killers that place traps have similar conditions, the one exception that comes to mind being Trapper and exit gates. The Demogorgon can't place portals next to gates, generators or hooks, and the Hag has a similar no-build area around some things (although she also has an extended trigger range).
Wait, Demo isn't supposed to be able to put portals next to gens? Is this new? Because on PS4 that tends to be a go to spot for them. I even had the crap scared out of me one time while working a gen when Demo popped out of a portal underneath me.

Ah, now I see why my teammates and killers have been muppets towards me today. I literally bought the skin as soon as it came out and although I agree she isn't done properly it's really immature and lame to tunnel and mori someone because of a cosmetic they bought.
It's not the skin, it's just the players today and probably for next week because new DLC. I had same with no Lisa's in the lobby.
-
Insta-saves are only if you happen to be on other side of the map when teammate is sent to it, otherwise it's a race. All but a couple of my matches PH was where the caged survivor had been only moments after they had been saved. PH tunnels because knows DS isn't an issue and injured survivor is easy down. Removing aura will lessen this - PH will know survivor is across map but won't know exact location. Can have notification sound when survivor is saved.

Ok, so I bm33's advice and did the search specifically for dead by daylight silent, and then it came up. If I didn't add silent to it, nothing, its like it didnt exist. That was so bizarre.
I shouldnt have to do that in the first place, but at least I was able finally purchase it Thanks BM33!!!
No problem. I've had issues with PSN store before when trying to find DLCs for other games - first time I had to figure out I needed to type in game name + DLC was frustrating. It's usually pretty random but always obnoxious when it happens.
-
It's not working on ps4. I've died trying to do it in matches. π
-
I wish the Konami Code would work on PS4. π
-
Or people won't realize they're being targeted and that the killers are just being toxic. You'd have to 100% leave non-Lisa players alone for anyone to pick up on what's happening.
-
Anyone know if they fixed the uncleansible totem on Lerys with this patch or that still a thing?

My account is the main, my children are linked to mine. And I've had no problems buying anything else.
I'd try contacting psn support. Here's a direct link to the DLC in the Playstation store.
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP3509-CUSA08444_00-CHAPTERWALES0000
-
Is your account linked to anyone else's? My brother has my nephews account linked to his. Sometimes DLC doesn't show for my nephew even though he doesn't have restrictions set. Usually when it happens they need to mess with the setting. It may be something on your end and not DBD if it's not showing for some but it is others.
I just checked and it's showing the DLC on PS store.
-
Check your settings? I bought the DLC hours ago on PS4. There's the DLC and Full game with DLC bundle available.
-
I wonder if the Nurse can blink inside there before it's opened.

It's doesn't work on after game only.
That seems odd then. I can understand making things before game inconvenient to do, but once the game is over? Just unnecessary.

You can open the tower clock
As either survivor or killer? I'll need to check that out. Thanks for the heads up. π
-
Is it before game or just after game? If it's begore game could be to make it less convenient for players to check profiles while in the lobby and dodge if they see something they don't like. Also maybe lessen Solo players sending chat invites before the match. If it's just the end game screen though that just seems unnecessary.
-
I think it is a bit glitchy. I was upstairs in Game map, Pyramid Head was below me putting his trail down and the barbed wire appeared upstairs. Pretty sure it shouldn't jump floors like that. π
-
What's the Easter Egg? If it's the body popping out of a locker it works on PS4. I also got the charm on PS4, as did my brother. The only thing I'm upset about is that the theme is not included with the DLC on PS4, they expect us to spend $50 on a game we already own that's bundled with the DLC for the theme. π

thats because they're based on Robbie the rabbit from Silent Hill. i didnt know that either until a friend pointed it out to me
Ah, makes sense then. If all licensed cosmetics are going to be locked hope they keep them to licensed characters after this. Nice thing about the original characters has been the freedom to mess around with their cosmetics.
-
@Eleghost said:
I would assume it has something to do with the license holder agreement for the cosmetics for cheryl. Aside from legendary skins which change the character as a whole, i don't think other skins will follow the same suit of forced matching set, unless it's a strict licensed agreement.
The new Legion cosmetics are locked.
-
First time hook them, second time cage them.
-
That sucks that people that own and have been playing the game can't get the theme unless they rebuy it. Would think they'd want to reward the people that have been supporting them.
-
Reflection - you're immune to light, anytime a survivor tries to blind you they are blinded instead.
-
Vampire:
Power: ranged attack - group of vampire bats, hit survivors inflicted with hemorrhage or deep wound.
Perk 1: Thrall - after hitting survivor with basic attack they reveal auras of survivors within x-meters. Lasts for x-seconds or until survivor is downed. Can only have one thrall.
Perk 2: when a survivor is downed (or picked up, whichever is more useful) lockers are blocked by entity for x-seconds.

Am I the only one who can't track via sound in this game? Is it a PS4 thing or a not-having-a-$500-headset thing or is it just me? I don't get it. No matter what killer I play, if I can hear the injured survivor I just end up walking in circles trying to locate them.
I can track with sound in other games. I could track via sound in this game for a couple weeks last year when the audio was balanced differently (god it was so nice). But right now? Sound basically functions like "there's someone in this area... somewhere... maybe... are you sure you heard something?" It's more confusing than helpful.
I'm so jealous of anyone who says they can locate survivors by sound. I feel like I'm chasing ghosts when I play as Spirit. I can only use her power for distance and hopeful surprise attacks at gens.
Play with the sound both in the ps4 settings and the game settings. I don't have an expensive headset and when I play killer or survivor I rely heavily on sound. It's saved me a bunch hearing stealth killers breathing or footsteps and given me kills when I hear survivors breathing or moving in grass.

No need for Russian server if that happens.

Beetlejuice: Activating this perk calls on the Entity to scare away the Killer. 90% chance Entity will kill other survivors if you don't agree to marry it.

Nope, it's because the majority of people don't read or care about the lore. Unless that lore is said to include LGBT, because then it becomes a deeply important issue for everyone.
Or they use lore when an outfit they don't like wins. π
Like I said somewhere else, this isn't going to impact gameplay unless those characters get a big old pride flag flashing above them. The cosmetics do more for gameplay than lore does, and plenty of cosmetics don't match up with the lore. I'd like them to give characters good lore instead of some cringey cliche crap, but even if they do that it's not going to change the gameplay.
-
When I was new and read the Decisive Strike perk the line "you use whatever is in your hand" I thought meant you needed an item in your hand to use it so I never used it. I knew about Franklin's and thought "I don't want killer hitting things out of my hand or myself using up an item so I can't use DS."
I also didn't realize Borrowed Time was a perk. I thought that when survivors would take me off the hook in front of the killer it was an automatic thing. Definitely got some people killed as rank 20 with that move.
Hag traps scared the crap out of me the first couple times because I didn't know you had to crouch to avoid them.
I thought you were supposed to attempt escape because in the tutorial you do that before someone saves you. I was a 2 hook death for awhile.
Exposed I thought the killer could see your aura to insta down you.
First mori I was confused what was happening then I found out if they have the offering it can happen after a hook. Then I was downed and mori'd midgame by a Hag and was like "I haven't been downed once!" and that's when I found out about Devour Hope. Then against Mikey I was running and he grabbed and mori'd me, I was extra confused because I hadn't even been hit that match. π

There's a reason gamers get a bad rap - it's due to how immature many act when they should be adults. Many use the anonymity to trash others for petty reasons because they are sore winners/losers. Even some streamers that are technically adults act like children while playing, especially when they throw fits complaining how unfair something was. π

Yes, a lot of players in general are young, and probably even more on ps4 because it's ps4. Another reason I don't really let "toxic" in-game actions get to me, because there's a decent chance the clicky Nea/facecamping Bubba is literally a 10 year old and I'm too old to be getting riled by some gen Z's
I'm pretty sure he's talking about PC crowd being young. He switched from PS4 to PC. On PC he has few perks which is why he used NOED. PC has endgame chat so now he's seeing commentary that he may not have on PS4 because it's not as convenient.

And keep in mind, even though that's one of the major complaints about the LGBT characters' hypothetical lore, when it came out in regards to a heterosexual couple, there were zero complaints. If you'll read my comment after the one you quoted, you'll see why LGBT people are upset.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1352764#Comment_1352764
I thought the issue was that games were getting political. Now getting political is fine?
I hope lack of complaints are because people are waiting to have all parts unlocked before they read it (that's normally what I do) because it's pretty bad and cringey. I can only think fans of Twilight would enjoy that lore. I was one saying don't do relationship stories like this because really I don't want it for anyone. Seeing Julie and Frank's just solidifies that and I really hope they stay away from doing it again for anyone. The mentioning of relationships (nurse husband, David gf) and focusing on other stuff way more enjoyable than that crappy teen angst love story. I am glad I read that link though, now I'm not going to put in effort to unlock the rest of her story because of how bad it is.

Did you actually read Frank and Julie's lore? Seriously, go read it. What you're complaining about that they're totally gonna do with LGBT characters is exactly how they did it with Frank and Julie. I'll give you a couple handy links:
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Frank,_Julie,_Susie,_Joey#Lore
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Tome_III_-_Escalation#Julie_Kostenko:_Soldiers_of_Mayhem
I hadn't read the Legion rift lore until you posted this, the relationship stuff in that is so cliche and lame. I really hope any detail they use for any relationship going forward is better than that.
-
As long as doors can spawn right next to eachother EGC should not start when last gen is completed.
-
Anytime I see TTV or YT I figure it's going to be a crappy match, and 9/10 times it is. π
-
That'd just lead to more useless players during a match that hide until exits are open.
-
I lucked out on the Game map. Someone was looping the killer below me while I was working gen above them. The killer slugged them and stood over the body for a bit too. Definitely not something that'd happen most games.
-
Depends on the day. Some days as survivor I feel like I'm the mvp, other days I can't hit a skill check and just run face first into the killer every match. Some days as killer I'm getting 4k no problem, others I can't even get a hit in. π
-
Neas I come across either are trying to be toxic thanks to Noob3 or are the teammate that's working gens/saving people. Usually you can tell which one you're getting based on the outfit.
Claudettes and Dwights are the ones I see just being bad teammates. They either spend the entire match being useless - hiding at edge of map or locker hopping until they can escape. Or they spend the match screwing over the team - they get into chases and circle gens people are trying to work on, go for a save without BT and unhook in front of killer, make loud noises near survivors doing it objectives to get killers attention. Some times it's a combo - they spend match hiding, if found lead killers to others working objectives, go back to hiding. I actually dread seeing them in the same lobby as me.

I've had a 4-man escape after rushing gens and cleansing totems. NOED didn't even trigger. Red rank killer, too.
Now this is the part where you tell me the killer was just bad/boosted.
As a solo survivor I see this happen pretty often. There really aren't many spawn points, you play enough and you find them fairly easily. People just ignore totems that are right next to them, rather risk getting downed with NOED and complain than take 14 seconds to cleanse.
-
@Orion said:
Teaches survivors to cleanse totems. Cleanse those totems, people!
This. NOED isn't a problem if you do this.
-
Caleb's is my favorite.
I enjoy Kate and Jeff's but what happens to his pup bums me out.
Nurse I enjoy. Also makes me think of my boyfriends grandmother. She had worked at Danvers State Mental Hospital and would never talk about it. Would tell stories about everywhere else but not one from there.

Lol yeah my friends do that a bit, we got better with practice. But the rando does usually ruin the experience for us, like they won't do gens, won't heal anyone, etc. It's hard to find a good rando team so I usually refrain from solo queue
Oddly enough I prefer solo queue. I do much better solo, probably because I pay more attention to my surroundings and don't have someone giving me bad information. Granted I probably piss my random team off when there's a pig and I'm getting killed trying to boop the snoot. π

Ahh, figures. Bi it is, then. Closet gay might still be an alternative, since gay people will often date out of their preference to seem normal and avoid discrimination.
To go "he's in the closet" when they say he has a girlfriend just to make him be gay is like if they mentioned Meg having girlfriend but say "she was just expirementing" to have her be straight.
-
When I play SWF we die way more than we escape. Main reason is because my teammates are just bad at listening or giving correct/good information. Lots of "I'm over here" "where?" "the corner" "which corner?" or "killer still chasing you?" "yeah" "you sure about that" "yeah" "weird, just hit me and is chasing me" π€¦ββοΈπ It sucks when there's 3 of us and the random decides to bully the killer. We just want to try and escape but that random being toxic has the killer end out being toxic towards us. π
-
David's rift lore mentions his girlfriend so if not straight he'd be bi.
-
Reporting a killer for killing? How are you to know they aren't trying to trick you into thinking they're AFK to leave them alone so once their team finished the gens they could just escape. Also, technically it's their teammates fault, if they didn't finish a gen the trap wouldn't have activated. π€·ββοΈ
When I come across someone with crows I down and hook them. If after they're saved they haven't moved I hook them again. They don't get freebie escape while their teammates are doing all the work.
-
The problem with the button mash is the glitches the game has while doing it. My teammate died in a match earlier, it glitched when the last gen was popped and he died when there was plenty of time left to grab him. If the switch it to a press to stop struggle it'd stop the accidental struggle deaths.
