Game map helped me complete this. I just worked on gen on opposite floor from people being chased. Do think it's a bad challenge, and I heard it repeats on level 4 of the tome with the additional step to escape after.
I'm hoping that when Nea has her rift they don't do similar challenges using Urban Evasion.

I only got it because I had a nice killer. It's a rough one with killer being able to shut the hatch before you can finish the gens.

@MiniPisa I am just gonna quote you on this and then really be done with you.
"If you wanna balance SWF, then it needs to be fair for both sides."
Explain how it is fair now, and you'll have all my agreement. But, as we all know, you can't do that, right? Because it is only "fair" for people who play together, while the killer is only looked at as someone who needs to host the session to let these friends farm their points. Of course, before you say anything (to which I won't be responding again, anyway) not all SWF players are even aware of what they have to do or how to do it. But put SWF in the hands of someone who is even partially decent, or someone who is complete garbage but runs DS and DH, maybe even BT and you're done, Pop Goes The Killer. (And again, before you call them "meta perks", meta is just another definition for "I'll use that stuff because it is so easy that everyone uses it")

Come play with me, I'll show you how wrong you are on that. Someone on this thread, who I am not naming, likes to assume I'm just basing that on nationality checks or "assumptions", when I actually have enough experience AND intelligence to also judge the way they play together. And I also forgot to add that, every single time I start a lobby, 4 survivors are already in at the same time. Rarely, there are 3 people and one empty space. I mean, come on, are we just gonna keep coming up with excuses and justifications, blatantly refusing reality? Just look at Cote's match in Korea. Sure, he was very inexperienced (even though he was using his favorite killer), but those 4 people were SWF, as was later proven. That should give you enough of a reason, already. The game dies if no players are there, as much as the game dies if new players (who want to start with killers) go against people like those, considering how broken matchmaking actually is right now.
They changed lobby queues so that if a killer leaves a lobby the survivors all stay and wait for new killer to load in. There have been multiple times I load into a lobby Solo that has no killer. People on both sides leave/enter lobbies. My experience as a Solo survivor contradicts much of what you say. You refuse to believe me from my experiences, saying I must provide proof, yet use yours like they are fact without any proof. I reference the Devs and because it counters your argument you say it's not true. This post (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/community-community-data-requests) has the information Lalythia is referencing, it's actual data showing over 50% are solo players, about 10% are 3SWF and 3-6% are 4SWF. With those numbers you aren't running into 4SWF as much as you think. If anything it is Solos using comms which makes you think they were SWF - but they can't prevent people using chat features that are available outside the game. I get party invites while waiting in lobbies all the time from randoms when I'm Solo. I don't join because I don't like chatting in games with randoms. I know plenty though have no problem chatting with randoms and will hop in/out of chat parties from match to match without joining a SWF. To stop this you'd have to remove the survivors names from the lobbies and during the match (just replace with Survivor 1/2 or Meg 1/2). Doing that would help prevent them from sending chat invites - if they go with "players met" they run risk of inviting the killer.
-
I think let survivors try. I've escaped when myself and one other were last on hook because I got lucky with 4%. Really only reason I escaped was because killer thought win was in the bag and hooked me by the open exit gate rather than further back where I was downed. He facecamped but swung too early which gave me the extra needed seconds. Something like that happening would be very rare.
More than likely the killer will down the survivor and hook them, giving them extra BP and possibly helping them pip if they weren't already. Also if killer has ivory/ebony mori they can use it - this could make getting the Blood on Your Face trophy easier.
Maybe if they made this change killers would just hook a survivor when another survivor is on a hook struggling instead of slugging them waiting for the other survivor to be sacrificed to avoid the possibility of unhook.

I guess you and I just came up with what they should have done, then. Sell cosmetics and give the proceeds to relevant charities in their area.
They definitely should've reached out to more in the community first. Didn't take long at all to come up with that. π

SWF can fight lower rank Killers if one of Them is also lower rank. So you know they are smurfing and want to Bully the killer.
If i see a 4 man swf in the lobby doing this i will definitely leave or play bubba basement because i am not playing that game.
I get matched with low rank way more often than I'd like to as solo survivor. It's pretty frustrating being red rank tossed in a lobby of rank 20s that are new and afraid of the killer or just so bad they can't rank up. Also can tell when low rank killer is one that purposely depips for easy match - kills rest of my team way too fast for a new killer.

People would be fine with pride cosmetics for the same reason they were fine with the charity case pack. Not any different.
If the money from Pride cosmetics went to related charities it would be accepted like the Charity Case cosmetics. If it went to BHVR people would complain they're using it to make a profit - like any other company that tosses a flag on a product and sells it in June.

The best way to do it would be not to go out of their way to promote is in the way they did. Release cosmetics, do a pride event even, but the tasteless and cheap "look at this great thing we did!" promotion on twitter was just tacky.
People already complain about the random cosmetics they put out as money grabs. They do Pride cosmetics people will say they're using it just to make a profit.
Like I said they should've reached out to more in the community before doing a statement like that. Hopefully they listen to those in the community like yourself that are not happy with the way it was handled.
-
I think give the survivor a chance, especially if they're running Deliverance they earned the ability to unhook themselves. There's no guarantee the survivor will escape anyway even if they unhook themselves. Maybe they escape, or killer gets extra hook points - possibly one that gives them iridescent emblem in sacrifice. If killer has ivory or ebony mori they can mori the survivor.

This. As a bisexual male myself, the "look at this great thing we did! love us!" ######### is cheap and old. @not_Queen @Peanits Whoever is running that twitter account and approving that stuff....think these things through. Don't use us as your PR stunts.
It seems like Cote has been having conversations about this after discussions with fans. Maybe should've reached out to more in that community, although maybe they did and this is what they came back with. Honestly not sure what best way would be for them to do it without coming across as PR stunt. Maybe if they just added the character and if people complained release that statement. I have a feeling the poor reactions to the pride emotes may have influenced them to release a statement instead of just doing it.
-
As Trapper catching people in traps. I had one set up of back to back traps where I survivor would step in one, escape, then immediately step in another. Wicked amusing. Another time I caught 3 survivors at the same time, I thought the multiple screams was a glitch until I saw the HUD. π
When playing solo and the team clicks. It's awesome working together efficiently without needing comms.
When the killer continues after someone that is trying to get them to go after other players - usually others are working on gens. When killer finally hooks them they walk away but no one goes to save them. Killer doesn't even bother other survivors until that one is sacrificed. It's like everyone agrees they don't want to play with someone like that. π
-
Gameplay wise it's not going to change anything unless they have giant pride flag flashing above those characters. Character cosmetics impact the game and there's a bunch that don't even flow with their lore.
I'm hoping they don't center lore around a characters sexuality. We know the Nurse had a husband, her lore is about her job. We know David had a girlfriend, his lore is about being a fighter. Granted it's licensed but we know Steve and Nancy dated, their lores don't even mention that. I hope they do the same for other sexualities, give them cool lore that doesn't focus on who they do/don't sleep with. Like if for a rift they go into detail of Nea going to Cronus Penn and have "Neas girlfriend tried to stop her from going to Cronus Penn... " it acknowledges her sexuality like they did with David or the Nurse without making it the focus of the story.
-
It makes sense. Figure alot of people have jobs/classes during the day, parents need to get kids to bed early, so night would be when they get online with friends to play.
-
Tenacity. People crawl all over the map not recovering. Be nice if they could toss on Tenacity so I could pop them up instead if having to spend time trying to heal them.

I'm sorry if you take it as i'm being rude, but it's how I am as a person. Don't care about what others say,irl or online. Will always say my point straight to someone, and will never care what they think if i think it's right/correct. I guess not everyone can just not care like I do,after all everyone is different. But I promise you,I was able to turn off chat and then it even transferred into my other games that i played unless they changed it some time ago.
Most days I don't care - I've had people several times use loophole of sending friend requests so they can attach a message and I just laugh it off because of the extra little bit of effort they put in, maybe report them if they used a slur. I know if I'm having a real ######### day though it'd just annoy me that someone is taking their craptacular attitude out on me when I'm trying to relax and I'll just end out in a worse mood. Because of those bad days is why I'd want to be able to turn off chat if it was on console. If chat can be turned off that is great and I am more open to it. With how many don't know it can be turned off they should probably make that feature easier to access - could even help with some of the toxicity that turns people away.

I tried to look into this and all I could find was that you can hide it but not permanently disable it which if this is the case then yes @bm33 does have a fair and valid point and I feel like above else this should be incorporated alongside a crossplatform egc. @Loner brings up a good point with don't let it bother you but if you're after having a terrible game and maybe your frustrated, maybe they bm'd you, then it becomes significantly more difficult to just not let it bother you at all especially if you do actively try to avoid it but still have to hide it every time.
Even if the chat was hidden by default and you had to unhide it to participate would be a better way to go around it but the more I talk about the topic the sadder it becomes that toxicity is always the number one issue with any potentially positive communication method in this game :(
It is definitely unfortunate that the toxicity in this game is so bad that it ruins possibility for positivity. Honestly if I thought people would use it to be good sports I'd be fine with it. But rarely do I see messages of positivity. Even when someone just says GG after a match if they won they get someone thinking they're rubbing in a win and flips out on them or if they lost they'll get someone trashing them. It's just really bad. Everytime I see those end game chats it makes me happy we don't have it on console.

You can turn of end game chat, what are you on about? And if you actually get "Touched" by people's msgs over the internet, then I dunno. Why the ######### would you care about some random ass no one telling you something and insulting you over a game or the way you play it?
Referring to endgame chat here obviously. You should just shrug it off,and not care about it.
Seen complaints on Facebook from people saying you can't turn off end game chat. It's not on console so not something I currently need to worry about and I don't want to in the future. Like I said if I can disable it that's fine but I don't want someone having the ability to take their issues out on me.
This weird thing of I'm human and sometimes use games as way to get away from real life. Sometimes when people say things meant to be hurtful, while you can brush it off most days other days for whatever reason you can't. Sometimes "shrugging it off and not caring" is alot easier said then done.

This is true but but you can do the same on pc and it's still incorporated
And it's VERY easy to ignore egc and leave after the match as well, people can message you privately if after you leave the match but they cant annoy you afterwards with egc and you're not forced to see it. Your preference is completely valid but I do think that the convenience and positivity that would come out of it trumps the harm it could bring because it is so easily avoidable
I've seen posts in Facebook groups of PC players wishing they could disable the endgame chat - there's quite alot that are not happy that it's incorporated when they have messages turned off. If you go to look at the final results the end game chat is right there, to truly avoid seeing it would be to immediately leave without going to final results. Myself and others that feel the same shouldn't have to either quit and not see final scoreboard or put effort into ignoring it. When I'm on PC for PTB there is more toxicity than positivity and it's not even real matches. There's plenty of posts here and on social media showing the nonstop toxicity that is found in end game chats - proof it's more negative than positive. I'd rather miss a GG than see someone trashing myself or others because they are sore winners/losers since it'd be convenient.
-
@Loner said:
I was confused about this myself always. Even if someone would trash talk in end game chat, would it really make any difference than someone sending a msg to you over ps4 normally? Don't think so. Adding an end game chat would probably help people more, than add more negativity considering people can just do that over ps4 normally anyway with msgs.
You can turn off messages, you can't turn off end game chat.
I have messages off so I don't have to see the negativity that is so common because people are sore winners/losers. I hope it doesn't come to consoles because I don't want those people to get a free easy work around to be jerks. If the Devs decide to add it with cross play I hope they give an option to disable it so I can continue to avoid the toxicity.

I'm on PS4 as well. I've come across maybe a handful of Nurses that are a challenge - I'm in red ranks so not going against baby killers. I can't consider her to be the best killer because from my experience playing against her she does the worst.

No thank you. I have messaging turned off, don't want easy work around for people to share their toxic messages.

I've seen killers do this to the Survivors that manage to avoid them while getting objectives done. Not sure what it is about not seeing a Survivor that pisses them off so much.
I had a Spirit yesterday that kept hitting me on the hook when I didn't do anything toxic. Start of match Haunted Ground goes off, someone is downed and kills self on hook. Gen with 2 people is finished, one hops on gen with me while other us downed and hooked - she too kills self on hook. I start working on a gen while other survivor is chased, he's downed and I make my way over, unhook him while Spirit is away and go work on different gen. He's chased again, downed, hooked. This time Spirit sticks around a little longer and hits him couple times while looking around the hook. Again I save when she goes away and go find a gen to work on. She again chases and downs the survivor, this time slugging him. I make my way over and pop him up. He goes and starts working on a gen I started while I work on a different one. Pretty sure she ignores him while looking for me. I avoid being seen a little longer but eventually she gets a glimpse of me. Chases me, I get a pallet stun in, downs me. Just stands hitting me while I'm on the hook. Teammate finishes a gen, that gets her attention and she goes to check it. Teammate comes and gets me off hook. She goes after me, hooks me and just hits me until I'm sacrificed, teammate escapes.

Nurse is still number #1. You just have to know how to play her. And also if you're swf you dont necessarily need to be good, you just need to hold m1.
On PC. On Console she's terrible.

Devour Hope of course.
Last time i saw it as a Survivor was probably a year ago, and it was a new Hag.
On PS4 I see it probably once every 3-5 matches in red ranks. Killers usually get to atleast the one hit because most survivors on PS4 ignore totems.
-
I had a match on Badham with randoms. I destroyed 4 totems. End of match teammate gets hit with NOED and hooked in killer shack basement. I go looking for the totem. I find it in the house with the basement right next to the gen - the gen that the hooked teammate completed by herself at the start of the match. Know she completed it by herself because I was with other 2 on opposite side of the map - one was hooked, one was being chased, and I was going for hook save. She could've taken few seconds to quickly cleanse it, instead by the time I cleansed it she was nearly at the end of struggle (guessing she attempted escape). I went and opened exit gate after cleansing since I wouldn't make it to her anyway, the other two came running over shortly after and we escaped. She was sacrificed on first hook because she ignored the totem right next to her.
-
I mainly play on PS4 and there's been a few times I've had questionable hits but not enough to complain about. Got DBD on PC for PTB, played few regular rounds just to see difference in play. Had a Huntress and saw the ridiculous through the wall hits people are always talking about. I thought people were overreacting because on PS4 it's no where near as bad as PC. It's those hits that concern me with cross play because I don't want the PC issues coming to console.
-
I bake pudding cookies with different confections in them that I've been wanting to have but it's so hot/humid that having the oven on would be torture. Waiting for cool day (or even night) to bake a bunch.

I'm guessing it was Bills first hook? And this must've been early in that match and not end game if you got two more kills. If playing like that you can't be bitter after if it doesn't work, instead learn when it's best to split up.
There was a time myself and randoms did something similar to an Iri Huntress at beginning of a match. Start of match I found flashlight in chest, gave it to other survivor because I suck with them and always give them to first survivor I see. During this Huntress downed someone nearby. I ran over, sabotaged hook and was downed but survivor being carried wiggled free. Then as I was picked up the survivor I gave the flashlight to blinded the killer. We got maybe two gens completed before she killed us all. Think her one shot with mori made us figure we were all going to die quickly anyway so may as well have some fun. π

Hopefully they change their mind, Ash vs Evil Dead is a horror-comedy and Ash is in the game. I still have a glimmer of hope.
This was only a few months ago. He says no for comedic Killer, I'm guessing he specified because Survivors don't count. I'm guessing it's why we only got Ash and not Ash with an Evil Dead killer.
-
I don't use it, save my shards for cosmetics.
My brother uses the shrine. When he plays if he's playing as Trapper all BP earned only goes to Trapper, he won't spread it around to other killers. So if there's a teachable from the Nurse he doesn't play her often so he gets her teachable from the shrine instead of leveling her up with BP he earned playing the Trapper.
-
-
I'm on console. I've come across maybe a handful of Nurses that were a challenge. Usually people just run her for the entire match. If she gets a hit in it's because the survivor got stuck on a corner or wasn't paying attention and ran into a dead end. She needs some work on console to make her a threat.
-
Stealth killers - even if they don't have terror radius you can hear their footsteps and breathing. Wraiths breathing is wicked loud and hard to miss.
Trapper - Survivors expect traps in doorways/windows. Place traps around corners they hug when sneaking/looping, you'll catch more.
Myers - If you get a tier 3 Myers you can avoid his grab mori by hopping in a locker - useful if you haven't been hung yet.
Oni - even though you can't see the blood orbs Oni still can and will find you with them if you're injured.
Legion - with Feral Frenzy can see Survivors heartbeat in lockers.

It's not like, you can change your steam user name at any given time dude. And i can tell you, i remember nobody from any game.
Changing name whenever you feel like it for free isn't an option for console. PS4 you get one freebie then have to pay for each additional time, plus on top of that you risk losing online data for different games when you change it.
I've had back to back matches against the same killer. I don't play toxic but if I escaped the previous match that killer is finding me first and camping because they are mad they didn't get me the previous round.
On FB groups there are killers that admit they keep a file on players they didn't like and check it before the match. Depending on killer they either dodge or target that person at start of match. Has nothing to do with remembering.
Survivors shouldn't have to change their usernames to avoid being targeted by salty killers.

In game have them labeled Survivor1 Survivor2 and at endgame screen have that with their gamertag. Could even do Meg1 Meg2 to make it easier.

I think they should remove survivor gamertags from lobby/during game. Let them be available at end game.
-
Trapper definitely needs some love. I was so bummed seeing we were getting another indoor map because they're so terrible for him, that's 4 maps his power is pretty much useless. Oh, but you could play with ALL of them, in a private match, where a full team of communicating people belongs, in an asymmetric game. And I'm not saying you should definitely agree either, you'll only do so if you have at least some common sense. Or would you like to play some sort of game where you cannot respawn, alone and with only a pistol with a single bullet, against 4 people with miniguns and rocket launchers? Think about this, before you say anything else.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1341279#Comment_1341279
Yeah, because there are so many people around the world that having a full lobby of guys from the same country is definitely always going to be a coincidence. Pfff. I feel like I am wasting my time trying to explain this to you, since you don't even seem to understand, or willingly refuse to, that I am not using wait times as an incentive to nerf SWF. Wait times are a thing, something that will make the game die if all killers leave the game out of boredom because all matches are against cheap survivors who are only ever able to survive if they have three other friends giving them a handj*b. SWF is another thing, but those are connected because of how boring it can become. Not impossible of course, but still, why would I play something that I find boring or frustrating, if games are meant to be fun? Sure, solos use flashlights and toolboxoes too, but how often do you see people rushing to flashlight save or destroy a hook for someone they do not know, if they are not in the immediate vicinity? Very often, solos don't do that even in those cases, and I'll laugh very hard if you try to invent otherwise. Then again, regarding wait times, those could be shorter as a 4 man SWF, since you only need to find another player. Anyway, for the sake of clarity, I'll repeat this one last time and then bid you farewell.
SWF BALANCING
IS NOT
TIED TO
WAIT TIMES.
Oh, one last thing. I wouldn't really value what devs said with that sense of accomplishment you seem to have, as we have seen in past broadcasts that those very same devs aren't really able to do much in the game, without even playing against red ranks, I might add.
Countries are pretty big, filled with atleast thousands but many with millions of people. To assume two people are from same country they must be SWF is just a poor assumption and pretty ignorant.
I've told you that wait times fluctuate and are not nearly as bad as you claim, there isn't a lack of killers. Wait times are not killing the game. If wait times for survivors were as bad as you claim they would move on to a different game. A group of friends won't wait 20+ minutes to play a game, they'll go play something else.
I play mostly Solo. Flashlight saves and hook sabotages happen all the time - people get points for them and they're fun. I will drop off a flashlight I find in a chest to a random teammate that later saves me or another with it. I saved someone from being hooked by using a toolbox then after I was hooked twice and it still had charges I dropped it off to them and they saved me from death hook. Players do it because it helps the team and themselves to escape. It's basic gameplay that doesn't require comms, just paying attention to your surroundings. Solo players, especially at high rank, know to work together and keep eachother in the game to survive.
Yeah, I'm going to trust what the Devs said since they have actual game data. Not someone that just uses poor assumptions like 4 people are from a country with millions of people, they MUST know eachother!

I think why people don't want him in the game or why he probably wouldn't get added is because he's really short, so it would make it damn near impossible to make him work, (pallet breaking, hooking, etc.) and how he kinda wouldn't really fit in a game like dead by daylight with the setting a more comedic tone
On a stream Cote said height wasn't an issue, it was no because he's comedic horror. I'm hoping with the TV show wanting to bring back more the horror from the first couple movies and move away from the comedy of the later movies it will help Chucky.
-
I know they won't but I want Chucky. Guy gets trapped in doll using voodoo. So much you can do with that. Have dolls around the map that he could teleport to and say random phrases. Awesome weapon options. Mind games from his height - could give him smaller red stain to go with. Pyramid Head having cage opens up options for Chucky as well.

Survivors don't know how demotivating it is to get first down at 2 gens left. :C
Every time I play BPS the killer goes extra hard and kills everyone within minutes of the match. I avoid them on bloodwebs because they are such a jinx whenever I try playing them.
-
DS: If a killer is tunneling me off the hook stunning them once for 5 seconds isn't going to stop the tunneling. Don't see point of using it for random chance I'm hooked at end of match, rather just work on avoiding getting hooked at end game.
Ruin: Old/New either one can be worked around and is easily countered by destroying the totem. Rather a perk that can't be destroyed at start of match and will be useful the whole time.
