  • It also has something to do with the survivor hitboxes themselves, which for huntress hatchets are actually hit "capsules"(not sure) and as the capsule only lowers or raises when standing or crouched you would be able to hit them while they were crouching since they are poking out behind the corner but also able to hit them standing since the hitbox is still there and the same size its just raised

Its not a glitch its just how its designed that makes it the way it is

  • They changed dh so that now happens but timing wise it doesn't slow you down or make you sit though the whole slowed bladewipe animation

While annoying it also means that dh is currently being consistent which means it could be looked at to be properly balanced now that it is preforming as it should due to the adjustments

  • Well comparatively to bitter murmur it would be overpowered unless lethal persuer or bittermurmur or both got extra effects

  • Its hard to try and wrap around difficult mechanics on a killer you are newer too, start by getting a good grasp / understanding of his basic power before moving on to more complicated things like "hug techs" and slides since its hard to go in and preform them without a decent understanding of blight so you actually know when to use them

  • Its between devour hope and haunted grounds because both times when those perks go off the only reaction to have is screaming, the other ones don't even come close sadly, other than maybe iron maiden if you weren't expecting it (from both sides) the screaming head on stun is very disorienting

  • Current boons are

    DH DS BT UB

    DH DS BT UB

    DH DS BT UB

    DH DS Coh UB

all 4 survivors don't run boons especially in coordinated squads who all use meta

Handicapping players because they want to play with their friends in a game that encourages teamwork is not the way to go.

Give the Killer more incentive to play against SWFs, but don't give Survivors less incentive to not play with their friends.

yea but that doesn't suddenly mean its fun to vs a 4 man swf sweat squad whos only idea of fun is to make sure the killer doesn't have any, could just be less of a hard limit but still some limits

  • Finishing a chest search exposes the survivor for 60 seconds (doesn't reveal aura)

That way if you finish a chest vs a killer with hoarder you have to decide if its worth taking the item and revealing yourself to the killer while exposed or waiting to grab it later and still reveal yourself to the killer

This. Trickster just doesn't look like he belongs in the game. He isn't scary at all, just goofy looking.

    Looks wise yea probably not

how he acts yea I guess thats more inline with this game

  • @VexTheHex said:

I seem to recall a bunch of clowns on here saying Trickster didn't look scary enough and how he ruined the integrity of the game with his more human design. Just ignore Legion, Huntress, Deathslinger, Pig, Myers, Bubba, Clown, and Ghostface. They wear a mask or make up and are instantly SpOoKy to the these posters!

Why so quiet about pretty lady who dipped her hands and feet in some ink and runs around making noises like a bird? She's pretty comical and even her pallet break animation is goofy as heck. Not sure how a stretched neck pretty lady wearing a red dress is so spooky, grim, and dark.

Or wait... was this all a bunch of people with shallow self esteem attacking a good looking male killer while simping for the female ones cause a pretty guy makes it gay while a pretty lady makes it... NSFW fan art gallery for your secret little save folder?

(Just annoyed at people acting like her design is amazing while she is one of the simplest and visually flat characters we have gotten. Even Twins has more character in their model than her.)

Well its more a matter of perspective

most people when they think killer don't usually think of a guy with an open yellow jacket no undershirt, purple pants and lavender hair

on the other hand a crow lady missing both her arms and in their place ink that takes the shape of wings to attack survivors with, that kinda sounds like something I could picture in a horror game

  • Well I guess we giving thanks but there isn't really a rubric for it so I guess here goes nothing

Thank you Mandytalk for the things you do to keep the forum going

(and also EQWashu for all the please keep things civil posts your hardwork is also appreciated)

To any of the other mods sorry I forgot your names or at least "forgot them" (I don't want to misspell names while thanking people) but I still appreciate what you all do for the forums

  • They don't (or at least shouldn't) be spawning in newly generated bloodwebs

bloodwebs are a static thing that stay until you complete them to generate a new one, I know this because I had a bloodweb generated on dwight at level 50 from a little over two years ago complete with only 2 perks at level 50

just complete the bloodwebs with seeds in them and you won't (or shouldn't unless its a bug) see them again

  • Iron maiden hasn't left my huntress build for 2 years its not starting now

  • Games just not much fun as killer anymore sbmm is just managing to drain more and more fun out of it by the day

  • Have it convert good skillchecks from the people working with you on a gen hit into great skillcheck and consume a token (in addition to its current effect) basically if you are good at hitting great skillchecks but you have someone else on the gen who isn't good at it but also isn't failing their skillchecks you benefit as if they were hitting great skillchecks

  • Sounds like it would mostly be useful for swfs rather than solos so I don't really care for it

  • Just put flashbangs in the bloodweb and allow you to take them into and out of trials

    if only :c

  • New killers limiting design space, darn

Maybe in the future this could change so that new killers can't limit design space by setting exceptions to some perks like this killer not receiving thrill of the hunt notifications

  • I concur especially with the new totem which is very effective against twins being able to snuff totems as victor would be a fair change

  • The new map does have a few issues though

3 god windows and 2 god pallets in the main building is pretty annoying but the 2 bottom floor godwindows directly connect to tiles every single time leading to potential some extremely powerful set ups (however I haven't seen one yet so I am hopeful they have ensured certain tiles and tile layouts are unable to spawn which would be nice)

Map layout tends towards 2 far gens, 4 clumped graveyard gens, and 1 main building gen which does lead to some nasty 4-3 gens or a large portion of the map the killer might ignore (like azeroths resting place)

    Some invisible walls

1 glitched spot where you cant hit the survivor

1 glitched spot where you can swing / deadhard up a small ramp and off a balcony on the 2nd floor

    Sand?

but other than that I actually quite enjoy the map

  • I would say that she is A tier but if you learn to play her on the ptb you can get away with a lot more since some survivors don't know what she is really capable of so S

but if she stayed exactly the same as she is now I would probably main her since she feels great to play although she would probably drop a tier given time

  • Sure

Boon all seeing: The auras of all windows, pallets, hooks, totems, and generators are revealed within 24 meters of this boon, whenever the killer snuffs this boon, their aura is revealed to all survivors for 6/7/8 seconds

Boon rejuvenation: While within 24 meters of this boon you recover exhaustion at a 50% increased rate (additive and works while sprinting) if this boon is destroyed you become exhausted for 30/25/20 seconds can stack with other exhaustion timers (effect does not increase sprinting recovery speed when stacked with other copies of itself or vigil)

I don't think it was a cheater but I could be wrong, most of the time when someone is hacking they'll eventually come out and make it obvious to you, there were a few questionable moments I saw but that could've very well just been that person playing smart with distance, I'd say it was a Smurf though more than likely the answer is they've watched jrm, ayrun, dowsey, or otz doing the hardcore survivor challenge and decided to give it a go

That moment only seems to happen if they are getting destroyed in chase even with their extra movement speed

I played against a cheater who clearly had increased movement speed and after falling for 1 too many mindgames they changed from just their mild speedhacking to more blatant hacks

I also played 2 matches with the same cheater (happened to queue into them a second time both times as survivor) the first match they only subtly cheated outside of the killers view mostly (not the survivors though kindred makes fly hacking look very obvious) who mostly just used progression hacks throughout the game (when spectating them they had the sound of multiple skillchecks trigger and succeeded as great skillchecks every second giving them 10-20% progress on a gen every second or 25-33% heal progress I saw this during the second game but its assumed they also did it during the first) to make it look like the survivor team was just really good at slamming gens

In the second match with the same cheater when things started to go downhill the survivor started just blatantly cheating even in front of the killer instantly flying around completing the last 2 gens, flying around for saves, flying around for exit gates, flying around behind the killer for pickups, extremely obvious since they felt threatened

so I'm going to say based on experience there doesn't always have to be that turning point from subtle to obvious hacks from the killers perspective sometimes its more situational / subtle before they bust out the big guns

  • Looks very much so like a cheater, his movement speed its definitely increased it always looks like he is subtly sprint bursting his speed was either set to 110% or 115% because normal rounding corners wouldn't look like that and he gains / maintains much more distance than normal like around the back of shack with no distance gained

  • Im sensing

    certain maps are disabled

    possibly another ghost wall

something that wasn't even touched in this update on an unrelated killer breaks

3 interesting perks but none that change the meta for both sides

hopefully this jinxes it towards being something good

  • I agree with the statement but not with the reasoning

if survivors decide to bring a bunch of perks to buy their team time to win killers should be allowed to do the same or use strategies that do the same as well

  • Honestly in that situation unless im in an extremely good mood I usually just end it and rip the bandaid off rather than stretch it out and make people feel like I am only farming because I pity them when I think the better pity is just letting them get to the next match faster so they can put the thoughts of those bad teammates behind them

Both. Yolo. Dead hard as multiple purposes, so should this. Fair is fair.

Well I had an idea similar to this (exactly the same actually in November of 2020 before coup de grace existed) and it seemed that the reception of having no attack cooldown on a 40 second cooldown would create a very strong and versatile perk that pretty much would break balancing to just have be on a 40 second cooldown due to its emergent properties and strength

Being able to have a double lunge due to no cooldown on the end of the first lunge drastically increases the power of killers at loops and forces survivors to play much safer because of only 1 perk that doesn't demand much from the killer is a bit overtuned

I think the devs already played around with this idea to create the perk coup de grace which is balanced out by its massive limitation (I still like to think I might have contributed to the idea a bit)

So its unlikely they would make such a powerful perk which is effectively a straight upgrade to another existing one and buff wise they seem happy with having this kind of power stay behind a large requirement like a gen being completed per massive lunge

  • Does this count for lunges or only basic attacks (the ones that can trigger a grab)

  • I think 1.1 million is the max

That is because the devs usually tie these animations directly to the current movement speed of the killer.

yea but it is interesting to find where the breakpoint is

  • Some killers do have specific animations and sounds that you can hear and see at higher movement speeds, (as far as I know) spirit when she reaches bloodlust 2 speed holds her arms out like she is phasing

  • Don't forget in addition to recoil he also used to have random spread, lots of fun

  • Ok but my balance to it would be survivor only get 2 hooks instead of 3

Your missing the point I wanted to fix the main issue so Unbreakable and other meta perks don’t feel like band aid fixes for bad game design. Your not forced to run the same perk all the time. Also I reduced the timer to 3 minutes so they die on the floor faster

A reduction to a 4 minute timer that almost never matters a 3 minute timer in exchange for basekit unbreakable is not balanced

"fixing" a main issue behind a meta perk by giving a massive survivor basekit buff and conversely giving killers bread crumbs doesn't fix any of the games problems it just creates new ones

  • These just aren't balanced changes, completely removing slugging massively buffs survivors, massively nerfs snowball potential of killers and certain killers whos potential only really lies in snowballing though slugging to win games, the only way this would be balanced would be a massive buff to killers, the only thing I could think of is survivors also get basekit (current ds) for 30 second duration (perk increases it to 60) and survivors only get 2 hooks instead of 3,

  • While its not the exact same type of game 1 for 1 I would say vhs could bring good competition

  • Yea some changes get reverted but sometimes they are just making room from a smaller change to a larger change they probably wanted to make at the time but it was easier to make the small change to tide people over for a bit

my only example of this was with billy overheat, which was set to -3.5 cp/s on the ptb, then to -5.0 cp/s on live 4.1.0, but was reverted back to -3.5 cp/s in 4.1.2 because of the additional changes made in 4.1.0 that paused heat gain while not actively revving or letting the chainsaw rev down and decreased heat gain from revving, and it was decided that billy had enough to balance out the -3.5 cp/s instead of the -5.0cp/s

And if we count another technicality

brutal strength was buffed from 10/20/30 to 20/30/40 and then nerfed back to to 10/15/20 when there was a global decrease to pallet kick time

  • Well more than ever killers have to commit to survivors and chases due to circle of healing, so it does seem like a possible meta development to tunnel the survivor who is most likely going to be placing boon (and less likely to have meta perks since they are a newer survivor)

Not all soups are savory, desert soups are fruit based for instance.

if you look at a response of a response you won't get the whole picture

  • @Tr1nity said:

This is a valid point, however, soup must contain vegetables, or meats, failing that, something savory. Wheat, and grain, in my opinion, make for a different dish all together.

Depends on if you count fat as meat since milk has milk fat in it

but even then there is a second component if that doesn't count

In terms of savory aspect some cereals are indeed savory at least in some capacity especially those that add flavor to the broth, like cocopuffs or in my case as I was eating writing this captain crunch

  • @Tr1nity said:

    Is cereal soup?

Since milk is pasteurized at a high temperature I do count it as a broth for the cereal most of which is also made at a high temperature so as all ingredients involved are effectively cooked cereal is a soup since serving temperature on soup can very its just a cold soup like cucumber soup or gazpacho soup

  • @Tr1nity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2600361#Comment_2600361

This would be most definatly true, however, it has been shown by this argument that the water does not need heat specificaly, all that would be required was all marine life to be eliminated, and the oceans changed to meet the regulations for food set forth by the FDA or any governmental regulation

Generally though a soup is cooked but the specific serving temperature of a soup varies meaning since the ocean isn't cooked yet its still in the process of becoming soup

  • @Tr1nity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2600311#Comment_2600311

I would argue conversly - As the meats and vegetables are still alive, one can not refer to it as a dish, for the same reasons one can not eat a live pig so you can have bacon

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2600314#Comment_2600314

I believe you are mistaking this for stock, which does require a simmer, conversly, in order to form a yogurt culture for the soup, milk must be heated, and mixed with two cultures, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. The warm milk creates a nice arrangement for the bacterial culture to grow, thickening the milk to yogurt.

I never said the soup was finished its still heating up

  • @Tr1nity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2600250#Comment_2600250

I believe, counter to your claim, cereal is not soup. The way a soup interacts is very different from cereal. A soup requires broth. Water, is not soup. A liquid alone is not the benchmark for soup. Broth, as @MrCalac123 mentioned, is the main definition for a soup.

But the ocean is soup based on its ratio of salted water to meats and vegetables

  • Its a spectrum depending on the liquid to food ratio, think pH but not log base 10

Soup is on one end of the spectrum which means its more of a liquid food with a higher broth to food ratio then something like stew which has a higher food to broth ratio

Cereal with a ton of milk is soup but a full bowl of cereal with just a splash of milk is stew

That just makes you look like a tribalistic killer main.

They can change animations and hitboxes, to make it LOOK LIKE a decent hit, you don't even need to consider lag with what I proposed.

But that's par the course for this forum, ask for something that's even FAIR for both sides and killers start frothing at the mouth here.

    Unga bunga

They can, but people will still be unhappy about them and yes lag would still affect how they look

If your response to people not being on board with your argument is that people must be a killer main or against you specifically I have news for you sometimes people just don't agree with your argument because they don't agree with your argument, I think above already looked like a decent hit with all factors considered

  • Old Old Old Old ds was a free 5 second stun for being picked up

Old Old Old ds was a free 4 second stun for being picked up

Old Old ds was a free stun unless you dribbled the survivor like a baseket ball

Old ds was a free invincibility bubble with a 5 second stun for being picked up while it was active

    Which version of ds specifically

  • @Seraphor said:

    This is the case...

    Not exactly

The maps actually have a specific layout of where the main building is (not always rotation of the main building) and location of tiles, for example there are 5 tiles in the map shelter woods and they always spawn in the exact same spots just not as the same tile with the same rotation, the tiles themselves are randomized but they do not move
