Huntress glitch
Hello dear devs, i think that after YEARS that the game came out we need to fix that goddamn axes that go through walls, pallets and building and hit you in any case don't you think
https://vimeo.com/646190279this video is a test with my friends after that in 2 games in a row huntress can literally hit you from behind the wall, totally no sense

Pleasant memories of when server-side hit validation was implemented temporarily... the Huntress main outcry was pretty funny. And it was SO nice to not be hit around corners and behind obstacles. You'd think that almost a year and a half would be enough time to perfect and implement it again, but no...
It also has something to do with the survivor hitboxes themselves, which for huntress hatchets are actually hit "capsules"(not sure) and as the capsule only lowers or raises when standing or crouched you would be able to hit them while they were crouching since they are poking out behind the corner but also able to hit them standing since the hitbox is still there and the same size its just raised
Its not a glitch its just how its designed that makes it the way it is
If it were only at the edge of walls, I wouldn't mind, but...
https://imgur.com/a/6hRvHsZThis is a regular occurrence. When server-side hit validation was present, things like this didn't happen.
Thank you for your replies, i agree with you that maybe stand near the wall is too much easy and it doesn't seem a real problem, later i will show you how a huntress can throw hatchets through pallets and hit a survivor that doesn't stand on the edge( or probably you already know) but anyway for me it seem a real problem
The hitbox of a survivor is behind the survivor.
You notice how in this video:
Steve's model is not centered? Your hitbox is centered! Dead center of your screen! And as previously stated, it is a big capsule, since capsules are easier to process than complex shapes.
The problem is that you can see some wonky hits like this. Part of it is lag or Desync, another is the hitbox not right on the survivor, or the same size...
Thats just the way latency plays out hits, if it played out hits based on specifically the survivors location we would see hatchets that phase through survivors on the killers screen which is a bigger problem being that its a 4v1 game
