  • Since there is no reward for playing nice as kills being the only statistic that matters for killer mmr there is no incentive to play nice since you gain nothing from it, camping / tunneling a survivor out early gives you 1 win and basically secures 3 more from killing the other survivors who are now most likely at your mercy

maybe if the mmr system and bloodpoints (needs to be both one or the other isn't sufficient for the majority) rewarded nicer play it would shift how a majority of players act such as removing the current scoring for mmr and replacing it with something that gives points based on a chart then adding them up and subtracting a calculated base amount, and rewarding blood point multipliers during and at the end of the match based on playing nice

still gotta condemn cheating but at least this is like, funny cheating.

sorry you had to play against this at all tho.

yea but its still cheating which is annoying but at least it was semi fair cheating ?

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

Saw this happen to a streamer recently. Impressive quick thinking here to actually hook this guy. While the cheating certainly sucks I've gotta say I like the creativity of stacking Boil Over.

while I do prefer it to the cheating of instantly picking yourself up or blinding (which he was doing earlier for others) I still prefer not to face cheaters

  • As killer I would just ban the 4 strongest survivor realms and as survivor I would just ban the strongest killer realms,

that doesn't sound fun for either side not seeing specific realms unless you bring an offering to go there

rather keep the current system of no system

  • Power struggle being a guaranteed 2nd chance with no need to earn it is a definite no go

all the other changes are weird, what is a tall structure,

why does circle of healing need a downside that makes it so you can't use a medkit with it,

why does any means become a pallet version of windows of opportunity on top of getting a really short cooldown,

self preservation being renamed is weird, but the buffs to it are fine

removing the activation from smash hit shouldn't happen but also why did it need to be renamed

deception change is ok but id rather just see the cooldown shortened not the scratch mark effect lengthened

Honestly I only really like 1-2 of these changes but most of them just seem to be a bit weird and all over the place from free 2nd chances to removal of activation requirements for strong effects

  • Current state broken key isn't recommended because it shares the same model with keys that bring a lot of anger to killer players, would recommend to just ignore them as a survivor until the update comes out then use them at will with the other key addons because hatch being nerfed removes a lot of key stress from the killer so there is no worry in bringing it anymore since it doesn't draw as much / any unwanted strength in perks or addons from the killer.

How did you take environmental classes but still don't see the point?

Of course most human activites will have negative enviromental consequences. However, some actions are necessary and the damage is (to an extent) unavoidable (e.g. farming, food refrigeration and preservation, and transport). This is something which we just have to learn to live with.

In the case of an NFT, there's really no justification for the level of environmental damage it causes. It's not necessary, it really doesn't provide any benefit to the buyer and it's excessively wasteful. Using limited environmental resources in this way is hugely irresponsible. If, as you say, "near literally everything" we do is damaging, we might as well make sure that what we're doing is worthwhile. Something that NFTs are not.

I see the point but I simply do not care since I don't have the power, drive, dedication, time, money, resources, or interest in doing literally anything about it even if I was an expert who was able to weight in on it , sitting on a message board complaining about it isn't likely to do anything since if a company wants to do something to make money they are likely to do so no matter what input we give them

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2552169#Comment_2552169

Think whatever you like I guess. It won't change the fact that NFTs are damaging.

yea I took environmental classes near literally everything is damaging though so I know to take it with a grain of salt but none of us are qualified on any way to learn in on this matter tbh

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2552114#Comment_2552114

This is easily the worst take I've seen in a while.

So because some things are more polluting we should be okay with senseless environmental destruction for the sake of some digital art????

Edit: Phones are absolutely more justified than some video game NFT. They can literally save lives by allowing people to contact emergency services from almost anywhere. No idea what kind of logic you're following.

not gonna argue about environmental conservation on a video game message board, sure I could have made the phone point better by doing it with something else but I still think its blown out of proportion

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2552103#Comment_2552103

The point is it's unnecessary waste and pollution.

Obviously food transport is going to cause pollution - but food is a neccessity. NFTs are NOT a neccessity nor are they even worthwhile, meaning that the sheer volume of environmental damage they do is not in the slightest bit justified.

I still think nfts are dumb but for some reason all of the problems of all cryptocurrency are rolled into one point here and being all placed on nfts, which is a scape goat argument, I get that nfts are closely related to crypto but this doesn't add up, and even if it did its not really that big when its just a drop in the bucket compared to everything else its not a real problem, our phones probably do even more polluting and are less justified since they actively make some people worse

    no, this is not okay.

    https://www.investopedia.com/tech/whats-environmental-impact-cryptocurrency/

"Not all cryptocurrencies have significant environmental impacts. Many of them do not use mining at all." the ones commonly used (BTC and ETH) do need to be mined, though.

.2% of the worlds power extra each year

11500 tons of waste in comparison to the 50 million tons that happen every year instead

Pollution caused because of how the electricity is produced not directly you could claim it for literally anything, turning on a light bulb polluting, using your phone polluting, using your pc polluting, even the carbon miles to get you a piece of food from the store also pollutes

Honestly if you look at it from the grand scheme, its not that bad I don't really get it

Oh:/ I thought it was 1 second less. I get the problem now but i don't think it's exactly intended to be a nerf

yea its not that big of a deal although they are still his best addons the basekit buff allows you to be more flexible with or without addons

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2549615#Comment_2549615

They didn't nerf him. In-fact if you use the same build with the same cooldown add-ons, your recovery will actually be faster than before.

its 1 second slower than before

old cooldown addons were 8 seconds + 6 seconds for a 14 second reduction or 16 second cooldown

    new cooldown addons + base cooldown is 6 + 4 + 3 for a 13 second reduction or 17 second cooldown

  • She was mending which isn't considered a healing action on the left side of the screen you can clearly see she had and lost the yellow mending bar, some effects in the game like snap out of it used to be considered healing actions for the sake of nurses calling but since patch 2.4.0 the line was drawn at just regular healing removing the other action that up until that point was considered healing which was snapping out of it, and mending (which was added in this patch with it) was lumped in with it not being considered healing for the sake of nurses calling and other perks / addons effects (other than mend time addons of course) .

  • yes it is sadly shallow, still feel like more factors should be added to make it a full system but the survivors losing less if they are the 2nd 3rd or 4th one to die is actually a pretty good factor I wouldn't have thought of

  • My favorite killer already has a near perfect set of addons but I would love to rework them to be more interesting / nerf that one addon

Placebo tablet (rework), Increases movement speed of rushing by 20%, Decreases movement speed of every other rush by 40%, increases bp scoring events for rushing by 100% (every other rush for consistency sake is on even number rushes first rush is always fast 2nd rush is always slow)

basically on rush 1 you move at 120%, on rush 2 80%, rush 3 120%, rush 4 80% ect, making for a weird alternating playstyle between fast and slow

Adrenaline vial, (rework) Increases tokens by 2, each consecutive rush makes you 7.5% slower, reduces time to recover tokens by 1 second, movement speed can't be increased by consecutive rush speed addons (no crow or rat to negate the downside but tablet works leading to rush 7 being at 35% of the original speed for a hilarious 3.22m/s rush (very good)

Chipped monocle, (combination of 2 addons) gets both the current effects of chipped monocle + the effects of compound 7 (might as well have both training addons as one)

Compound 7, (rework) can press the active ability button while rushing to consume a token to turn 180° mid rush, doing so also refreshes how long the rush lasts (turning around has a 0.5s animation in place to give people a chance to reorient themselves for a bit) , doing so doesn't start a lethal rush unless you were already lethal rushing

Foxglove (rework) , landing a rush attack instantly recharges 2 tokens

Alchemists ring (nerf), landing a rush attack instantly recharges 3 tokens

Soul chemical, (buff additional effect) also plays a sound effect whenever it gives a survivor a skill check

Rose tonic + Plague bile (buff), while in slam you can press the active ability button to instantly enter fatigue

Compound 33 (buff additional effect) bumping into generators causes them to begin regressing (doesn't cause a stun just bumps like normal)

Summoning stone, (buff additional effect) also see the auras of blocked pallets

  • latency, just like how I get a hit right as a survivor vaults a pallet while on their screen they get hit right about as they reach the other side

just means you are holding it too long or have a bad connection

  • Ive had it worse, during endgame I ran into a zombie and instantly died (my bleedout meter was empty) which led to a 4k

  • I have successfully lightburned a nurse using a flashbang and honestly it was the best thing I have done in dbd, couldn't bear to see the mechanic go

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

That’s completely wrong. Counterforce is not a good perk, Otz timed all the perks and found using counterforce was almost as inefficient as no perks!

using it with only the information the perk provides is inefficient if you are good at finding totems normally it is still useful for its speed boost and help finding the last 1-2 totems

  • decent series definitely have a spectrum of game qualities though from near perfect (borderlands 2) to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

  • I won't miss it but I will miss having it

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2544708#Comment_2544708

Nothing official and it wasn't at release. There was a 3rd party programme that did this, which we did remove from our whitelist as people were blocking Nurse players for example.

thank you for the clarification screenshotting for further reference

  • @Mandy said:

I don't think this is something that we'd implement. People have purchased these characters either with actual money or with shards - game time, it wouldn't be fair to stop someone playing the killer they like playing.

The whole thing behind DbD from the early days is that you could be facing any killer in the trial, limiting that by banning certain killers feels pretty unfair to the players who've purchased and enjoy playing these characters.

Wasn't there also a system on release where blocking a player would make it so you don't match with them which had a similar effect people blocking people who play killers they don't like and probably killers blocking strong survivors so a system of blocking / banning has already been used and found to be unfair

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

First of all, no. Everyone would use it on either Nurse, Blight or Spirit and people who play them will have a super long queue time which isnt fair.

Second of all, Pinhead isn't OP. By most he's regarded as a C tier killer (although I'd argue B tier after learning him). If he needs anything it's some sort of small buff.

Finally, since when did Overwatch have a hero banning system?

its not out of the question they implemented a ban system, they already removed hero stacking, and created role queue because they can't balance the games roster, its not out of the question they added hero banning to neuter effective strats without having to actually fix the game

  • @ukenicky said:

Literally killers will dodge swfs until they get solo queue survivors for easy matches. I get it, I don't like going up against swf squads either when I play killer but killers would abuse this to bully solo queue survivors who already have enough on their plate.

but don't survivors swf for easy matches so whats the problem

  • all seeing nerf is fine, coxcombed could use a slight downside like 10% longer decloak, 10% decrease in cloaked movespeed (from 150% to 140% not to 135% I don't dislike it that much.

  • mostly referring to trickster here, everyone else is fine

  • could have just uploaded this as a youtube video but thats not the point

yes double pallets can spawn rarely on this map, usually means resources are lacking elsewhere on the map though so its extremely rare since its been improved a bit over time but it can still happen

  • So the addon was actually buffed from 4.7.0 to the version we have now, it used to be 10 seconds and it started when you started reloading meaning an effective 6 seconds, but the new buffed version is 15 seconds so an effective 11 seconds

don't forget this means it also has synergy with perks and addons that help you reload faster

13 second duration with iron maiden, 11.8 second duration with deerskin gloves, or I think an effective 13.4 seconds with both

this oversite was already adjusted for sadly which means this is as good as the addon gets (unless its buffed)

If i did it for 30 seconds or a minute then i'd essentially just be handing the game to them?

Look I wouldn't really worry about doing something once on a temporary ban offence especially if you didn't know if it was wrong or not and who was in the right / wrong, its unlikely that just 1 match of doing something wrong is going to get you into trouble unless it was a serious offence like cheating, just take it with a grain of salt that your probably gonna be fine and learn from the experience that its according to the devs that its not something you should be doing

  • @Kurri said:

What's the point of this challenge? Why would you even play huntress then? Like the challenges that made no sense to play a character wrong wasn't good to see, but this challenge straight up tells you to not play huntress while playing huntress?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LM2I49QLR693/image.png

Nobody want's challenges like these, why were they even considered to be used as a challenge. It's not a challenge, it's literally saying "Play huntress without her power". Which isn't a huntress challenge, just play Legion and that's the same effect. Is no one in the office calling people out on their bad ideas?

they just want you to use the soldiers puttee so they can see that its used enough to not be changed, its all a conspiracy

Yeah but that would take away from others perks wouldn't it?

but would it really, clairvoyance doesn't help you find the first totem like small game

it doesn't give you a cleansing speed bonus or show totems across the map like counterforce

it doesn't have 5 guaranteed procs every game like detectives hunch has by doing gens since teammates might also cleanse totems or boon them instead

  • @KolbyKolbyKolby said:

Probably because All Seeing Blood provided ridiculous information for a killer you can't hear or see in an indoor map and Vanity Mirror's speed penalty was so bad that it was one of the most killer handicapping addons in the game.

you can hear wraith while invisible he does make sounds also unless he put both addon slots towards it you will hear his bell

  • Whenever a totem gets snuffed no more boons in that spot ever, and moving your totem depletes the spot it was moved from

  • Devour hope would be overpowered and run on every loadout, 3 hooks as any killer you now get exposed effects 5 hooks you win the game

Thrill of the hunt would be useless unless it was reworked slowing down totem blessing / cleansing is useless with no incentive to do so

    ruin would be op

    undying would be useless

    retribution would be useless

third seal would be extremely annoying but mostly punish soloqueue more than swfs

plaything would be op permanent oblivious can be brutal

Noed would still be noed so fine I guess

Lullabye could become a meta perk (against streamers who read chat)

    Haunted grounds would be useless

    Crowd control would be ok

Blood favor would be pretty good

  • Still would probably be outclassed by whispers unless it had some other effects

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

Absolutely. Being able to coordinate perks with your teammates without having to rapidly type your builds in 60 seconds would be a massive QOL change. My only issue would be that it would encourage lobby dodging by more toxic survs who can't handle teammates who don't run full meta.

yea that was my problem with having it display everything, and it does create a lot of animosity between 3 man swfs and the solo who is just playing for fun

  • @oxygen said:

Already available to SWF and hell, technically even available to all PC players if everyone suddenly started sharing everything they're bringing in in the pre-game chat. So it only seems fair to make it available to everyone.

That is true on pc I often share when bringing perks like openhanded with other survivors or when I bring map offerings might help level the playing field and buff some underused perks now that people know you have them like openhanded

  • @DelsKibara said:

This would be SUCH an amazing QoL change for solo.

Seriously. The build I bring right now is a stealth-chase hybrid build because every single ######### time I bring something specialized it clashes with someone elses build.

Until there is something like this I am going to keep running Spine Chill, Dead Hard, Iron Will, and whatever perk I feel like bringing.

It would be nice since it buffs a lot of the games perks just by letting people know you have them sadly it also buffs some meta perks

  • @glitchboi said:

Maybe just show it on the survivor side and not to killers. Imagine cleansing a totem and then it turns out someone had a Boon totem to use. This needs to be implemented, and not to mention it's already in DBD Mobile.

This wasn't meant to be shown to killers

  • @kate_best_girl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530543#Comment_2530543

The rematch could be non-MMR affecting to prevent abuse. I think if a killer wants a rematch it would be expected they'll go harder especially if they lost, unless they just really liked the survivors.

thats not what was stated, first use a low mmr character to bait a rematch with bad players (due to their low mmr) making them easy cannon fodder for someone they should never have gone against im not talking a bit worse players im talking use a character that has thrown mmr so far most people you would assume are doing less than afks

  • @Aneurysm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530393#Comment_2530393

What about if the killer could select any other killer + build regardless of MMR?

then you can just have someone lower the mmr of one killer massivly then bait really low mmr probably newer players into a rematch against a god nurse or something

  • Wouldn't work, every rematch would devolve into survivors now knowing which killer it is and what build they are using and changing their builds to counter them

All doctor rematches are now full of calm spirit

All trapper rematches now have maps with trap tracking

All hag rematches now have 4 flashlights

decent idea but in practice it is highly abusable and no sane killer knowing these factors would probably want to use them so it just becomes a noob trap for people who don't know better

  • Well it is listed under unsportsmanlike behavior so sending a report their way is probably the right move and if they receive enough in a short time they will probably be temporarily banned for it

  • @Duvie said:

  • @Duvie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2525999#Comment_2525999

Well if my perk idea didn't have the haste it'd be a bit weak. It would just be a very weak version of the Old Object+Sole survivor combo. so since I lowered the radius allot in which this takes affect the purpose is to chase, and so the haste is to help you, its not that crazy in my opinion. Unlike the old version where the survivor could see the killer, but the killer couldn't, With this version they both can see eachother.

Though I guess it could go down to 2/3/4% or 3/4/5% if you think it'd be more fair for the killer. Remember this is something that requires using two perks in combination for.

Still no, movement speed is extremely strong and no matter how much or how little a increase to movement speed is gamebreakingly strong in the right survivor hands
