He had to actually put you in lose lose situations, which if survivors are smart enough, can avoid most of them and force a 50/50.
Both pallets and windows are lose/lose against him. Didnt know we are trying to defend it yikes.

I'm not arguing. The game has one of the most sharply defined metas of any games I've played. The only way to change that is through both buffs and nerfs. We can't just keep buffing underperforming perks - that's how you get power creep. If killers are slotting 1 perk above all else, they're doing it for a reason... and a combination of buffing underperforming perks and gentle nerfing of the big perks is the way to address that.
IMHO though, it's long since past time they looked at DS, UB (at least in combo with DS), BT and DH... they're just too good. DS in particular needs to be nerfed - it offers the killer no counterplay other than to slug. Same with UB (if combined with DS). DH & BT, honestly, are great perks and good for the game... since Killer has counterplay. You can bait out DHs, you can go for the unhooker for BT... I would just like to see more perks being run - DH & BT get "fixed" by buffing other perks IMHO.
Ok I see now. The meta is boring but the devs need to make changes to tunneling and camping and then nerf these perks.

Who is expecting survivors to run bad perks? I just asked how that guy was apparently blaming survivors by asking for consistent application of reasoning for changes.
This is a misunderstanding I never said that guy was blaming survivors all I said was what better eprksndo we have to run.

How is it blaming survivors to ask for consistent logic behind changes? If anything it seemed a lot more like they want perks to be rebalanced so they have similar power across the board. Most perks in this game are near useless.
Uhh ask the devs we arent the ones who did the change nor complained about the perk. That would be good but until that happens dont expect survivor to run bad perks for you.

I'm going to keep this post brief and to the point, I do not believe the buff awarded to The Executioner in the future will be enough to compensate for his nerf. Allow me to explain.
These are the changes The Executioner will be receiving soon.
- Increasing the delay after cancelling Rites of Judgement before Pyramid can attack.
- Decreasing the delay after attacking with Punishment of the Damned.
Now before I start, I would like to say I am grateful that the developers have given us both a nerf and a buff to compensate. It shows that they are proceeding with these changes with caution, and it shows they are careful not to irritate the Executioner players and I appreciate that. Thank you.
My argument however is that I feel in this case his buff may not be enough to compensate for his nerf. Allow me to explain.
Rites of Judgment is powerful and very useful in disrupting and tracking Survivors, however it is Punishment of the Damned which feels the more rewarding. This is because Punishment of the Damned helps you down Survivors in the chase, saving you time and granting you leverage which is what all killers aim for in the match. Due to its short range, width, and long 5 second cooldown, you want to use this attack when you are certain it will hit, and what better way to do so then when a Survivor is proceeding to vault or drop a pallet? A good Executioner will achieve this even in average pallet loops by baiting the survivor, this is done by using their Rites of Judgement as the survivor is reaching their pallet, effectively playing a mindgame that is in your favor if played well. They drop the pallet or vault, then it is a guaranteed hit with Punishment of the Damned. If they decide to continue running, then simply get out of Rites of Judgement and use a basic attack.
To combat this, the developers are increasing the cooldown from cancelling Rites of Judgement and this troubles me. His short cooldown is what gives him strength, grants him flexibility during the chase and is what keeps him lethal. You won't see a Demigorgon charge their shred to disrupt a Survivor's running formation or bait them into dropping a pallet if they had a longer cooldown for canceling it as well, and the same argument goes for the Cannibal, Hillbilly, Clown, etc. A longer cooldown means a stricter use.
They will be decreasing the 5 second cooldown for using Punishment of the Damned to compensate, this is appreciated but I fear it is not enough. Because Punishment of the Damned is what will win chases, the developers must proceed these changes with high caution, as a nerf like this can largely weaken the Executioner in the long run. For a few days I have been contemplating and wondering how to manage this weakness, and I remain uncertain if these buffs will do the trick but here are my thoughts:
Decrease the Punishment of the Damned attack animation so that the attack lands quicker
OR
Increase the length of Punishment of the Damned.
Currently Punishment of the Damned sits at 12 meters, perhaps increasing it to 14 meters would be of great assist combined with the shorter cooldown. But I fear the shorter cooldown won't be enough to manage this, and ultimately like all of you I have no better choice then to wait and see how this plays. For now, I shall remain cautiously optimistic. I was in the middle of writing a post titled 'Executioner has no couterplay?' in which i go into detail how to play him and play against him, but this change has placed that post on pause.
Let me know how you feel about the changes to the Executioner, do you agree or disagree, and politely support your opinion as well. Let's keep this discussion civil and avoid the name calling please. Thank you for your time, and I'll will be seeing you... in the other side...
So in other words you are worried because he isnt going to be able to put you in the lose/lose situation. Nice try g

It's a perk that's heavily overrun. I just wish they'd apply the same logic for survivors. Getting really tired of every single one running DS, UB, BT an DH
What better perks do we have?
Blame the devs for not buffing perks and giving incentive to run others. Also blame killers that play on a certain way that makes a perk meta *cough cough* tunneling *cough cough.*
That being said there is technically nothing wrong with it but you shoudlnt blame survivors for not wanting to be deleted and using perks appropriate for the situation.

I completely agree. I think DS is nowhere near the issue they are. Mindgame a survivor to close distance, press E to undo. Catch a survivor out of position? spint burst to the nearest jungle gym. Then of course you have all the times you're chasing a survivor towards the exit and that little push from dead hard is what gets them out. That happens to me so much meanwhile I can count the number of times I've been screwed by endgame DS on one hand.
Depending on where exhaustion perks are used and what the survivor is near they can easily extend a chase by 30 seconds with no skill required.
Nothing wrong with strong perks. Undying ruin is a strong combo. Both very strong perks they are fine. If the game was full of weak perks there would be no improvement or things to play around/learn.

It's still ccheese. As a survivor main dead hard is just a crutch. Press A to outplay, crutch hard. It's not a very skillful perk.

Claudette P3 wears lighter clothing.
2.5 second hindered state when pressing the crouch button repeatedly.
Vaulting three times within 20 seconds applies a debuff that hinders the survivor for 2.5 seconds every time they vault afterwards until they have stopped performing that action for 30 seconds. (Completely stop jungle gym and tile nonsense that gives survivors a free escape. Killers that put the time in should ALWAYS get their target, not be looped for over a minute of game time.)
Flashlights lose 30% battery for fast clicking.
Hatches break once closed, rendering keys useless during end game collapse.
Gates regress 20% of its progress over 15 seconds when let go.
When not performing an action of any kind for over 1 minute survivors leave clear trails that last for 20 seconds whether they crouch, run or walk. Or become highlighted if they stand still or stay in a locker.
For each person in your SWF group, penalties to ALL actions is increased by 1.5% (SWF of two 1.5% penalty to everything. Three, 3%. Four 4.5%) So that would include, Gen repairs, unhooking, healing, Movement speed etc.
Unbreakable should progress you and others at getting back up FASTER, but you still require another person to pick you up.
Exit gates will transport survivors to a random part of the map, (with a one minute debuff that causes them to scream once at random in that time frame) if they wait in there for too long. (Either stay in the game or get out, no more toxic camping at the exit.)
Nobody except the p3 blendette lighter clothing is fine with amy of the changes you thought of.

I honestly doubt that you do. Do you think that everyone at rank 1 is good? I started playing this game and in less than a week i was rank 1, both killer (only playing ghostface, a m1 killer) and survivor.
Reaching rank 1 is not that hard, cause ranks are not a proper matchmaking system. We need mmr so we can end these stupid debates. Everyone has right to have an opinion, but if you are bad chances are you don't understand the game. Then you come here complaining about a or b. You might be right complaining about a or b, but the better you understand the game, the more richer your opinion is. So i don't know what you meant by "i see what you are trying to do" cause i simply don't follow your logic so far
I dont think rank matters. However it is the highest rank and you are acting like I dont get good opponents because I'm 3 of from 1. Quite frankly I dont care if you got rank 1 both sides in a week because it really doesnt matter and also good for you I guess?

You run OoO in a swf, click your flashlight at the killer and think DS should be anti-momentum. This is exactly what all the killer mains think of here when they see people asking for killer nerfs but in your case that's actually how you play lol.
Do you actually play killer a lot? I'm curious. If so which ones do you play?
Yeah I run a perk in swf that I also run in solo. Am I supposed to take my perk off? I don't even really call out because I use it for my benefit.
Also clicking your flashlight is if you didn't know gets the killers attention. I dont mind the anti momentum part being removed but I do mind that now that DS will lack another effect you should have to pay for an anti tunnel perk it should be free considering killers can tunnel for free.
Music nerd said it best rank 4 oni main. Gonna hit 1 today so my opinion can be even more valid.

But seriously I'm gonna get rank 1 today. You really think I've spent 3k hours on nothing but survivor.

I will assume we will see some nerfs or reworks on DS, OOO and maybe unbreakable and thats about it
Nah man i can still see them adding breakable walls to jungle gyms.

Getting deleted in 2 minutes, is tunneling, and DS is an anti-tunnel perk. Getting deleted in 2 minutes isn't ok, and I'm fine with DS becoming basekit, as long as it's tweaked to buff its anti-tunnel, and nerf its 60 seconds of immortality.
Yeah and the problem is now is you have to pay to not be tunneled. Anti momentum effect justified it as it wasn't only tunneling. Think about it like having to get iron will as a paid DLC to counter spirit. Does it make more sense now?

Pot kettle black. The whole idea of this thread is moaning that DS may get nerfed because it's being abused pretty hard right now. Yes killers should be fun for both sides but all you hear is nerf spirit/pyramid/deathslinger, and very few calls for work to be done to make other killers more fun. Some maps are still pretty bad and with exhaustion perks thrown in chases can become very benny hill like, thats the point really when a killer comes along who has equal power or control in chase they need to be nerfed into the ground because people can't accept a new direction for the game and want it the same as the old days where it's the 4 and not the 1 that have the control in chases. These killers aren't very fun to play hence the meta we see today.
No actually I'd like to hear some needed survivor nerfs. People are say ing some pretty good ideas I could get around. Even an OoO nerf despite it being my favorite perk.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Rework DS to be truly an anti-tunnel perk and and give Unbreakable some condition for activation like Deliverance.
Dead Hard is another perk that needs to be seriously looked at as right now dead harding for distance (aka press E to outplay) is the same as Spirit getting free hits while going AFK. It should have some other sort of requirement/downside but I have no idea what it should be, maybe longer exhaustion?
Besides that they should really rework maps. Both killers and survivors are fine right now, but maps in DBD suck. Every map should be reworked to be the size of Coal Tower and completely safe loops that have no input to the killer need to cease existence.
Making dead hard have longer exhaustion ruins consistency the same reason balanced landing was nerfed. It had an passive and because no other exhaustion perk has it, it had to be nerfed.
-
@CashelP14 said:
OoO needs a change. Me personally I'd have it only work every minute for 3/4/5 seconds. Makes the perk useful for solo but pointless in swf.
Keys need changed. Personally think it should only show auras using it's add-ons. Have an add-on that allows you to open the hatch but there's a short interaction and it shows your aura to the killer during this.
Fix sounds.
DS changed slightly. It needs to be a better anti-tunnelling perk.
Change the big maps like Ormond, Disturbed Ward, Haddonfield and Midwitch. Would love Shelter Woods to be buffed for survivors.
Better early game slowdown/information for the killer.
No swf nerfs. No separating swf and solo players. No perk limit for swf. No telling the killer who's swf or not.
Unless I'm forgetting something these are the only nerfs I'd make to survivor. Right now the game is pretty good except for a few things.
Really hope @azame you do a series on this. A what buff/nerf does killer and survivor need.
I dont know if I could. Who would listen to a survivor main? Although it does sound like fun.

Sounds like the survivor community is starting to understand what killer went through when the devs reworked ruin.
I think your fears are unwarranted. Even these devs know if they nerf DS people will review bomb the game. They've always leaned towards the majority of their customers. Despite the numerous killer updates over the games creation. They only introduced those to try to keep the killer population from playing something else so the survivors have a match.
Nah the survivor community went through the same ######### 2 years ago. Every patch was a nerf after nerf.

Anti momentum perks are not ok, a perk shouldn't just do that, this new DS is 100% anti-tunnel, old DS was anti-momentum.
Neither is having to pay to not be deleted in 2 seconds. The anti momentum justified it as it had a second usage: offensive. If you remove that you might as well make DS basekit and make the new DS something completely different.

Sure you might not use it like that but a lot of people do and it's about as fun as a first hook mori tunneled right off the unhook.

I just hate how dead hard is designed. Oh, the killer outplayed and mindgamed you? Dead hard for distance, it's ok. I think it's the biggest crutch survivor perk out there, and I hate it.
I 100% agree that crutch hard is well a crutch. The fact is to keep things consistent would you really give an exhaustion perk like tokens to use? How would you nerf it? Yes its play A to outplay(e, or x ps4/pc) but like just like strong killer perks nothing wrong with strong survivor perks
