  • It's fine

  • I definitely prefer the Nurse as she was before. Omega blinks and 5 blinks needed to go but that cooldown simply sucks. Cooldown reduction addons are pretty much a necessity now.

  • You kinda combined her current addons with her old ones, didn't you?

I agree that her cooldown was a terrible idea to begin with and should go but you propose to give her back easy access to 3+ blinks and omegablinks which is a bad thing and kinda was the reason to warrant the nerf in the first place. One ultra rare for 1+ blink is enough (though the downside for that addon is BS and should be removed imo) And maybe 1 +range addon is ok (but preferably without a stupid downside)

  • It's a perk I recently re-discovered for myself and it is surprisingly good. I started using it over Empathy as a primary information perk.

  • I didn't get what exactly are you offering? To increase survivors' bloodpoint gain rate to match killers, to decrease killers' bloodpoint gain rate to match survivor or to take some bloodpoints from killers and give them to survivors? I'm ok with the first option but hell no the latter two.

  • Баланс - это 2/2 при равном скиле обоих сторон, равном количестве усилий с обоих сторон и равном уровне предметов/аддонов/подношений с обеих сторон.

На самом деле идеальный баланс в этой игре попросту невозможен.

  • So your idea is to turn a perk into an inferior version of another perk. How could that possibly be a good idea?

  • This changes are better than nothing. But I still think that overheat is unneeded and 90% of addons are still most likely gonna be trash.

  • Annoying.

Balance-wise each single one is fine on its own but stacking them together is OP.

Imo they need some form of a shared cooldown like Exhaustion but probably longer or even till the end of a trial to make it just a 2nd chance, not 3rd, 4th or so on.

  • Cooldown decrease addons are the only useful addons to me. The basekit cooldown is terrible imo.

  • 1) Keys. (I'd make a chest with a key spawn when a hatch is closed but as an item it needs to go. replace it something like amulets and focus on aura reading)

    2) Moris (I'd remove them as an offering entirely but made a Cyprus one basekit)

    3) I'm divided on Nurse's cooldown and Hillbilly's overheat. Both suck.

  • I was at thirty-something level.

Concepts come in go, offerings and perks get changed or shelved when the game gets changed. If they did eventually add an FOV slider to the game than I wouldn't be surprised if M&A and Shadowborne get changed as well. But I feel they never added an FOV slider because of balance or something, I don't know the exact details so that's just a theory.

I think they expected everyone to play with the base setiings without ever trying to change them. That's why brightness offerings were a thing and FOV perks still are.

But adding FOV slider would actually be balanced. Simply because everyone can change it if they want to so noone gets a real competitive advantage here.

As for perks only Shadowborn will have to be reworked. M&A will still be fine as it still has uses with the terror radius shifts (though a buff to compensate is welcome)

  • It's a perk designed in 2016. Devs had some wierd ideas then, like offerings to increase or decrease brightness.

  • Freddy or Oni if you still want a strong M1

Huntress, Deathslinger or Spirit if you're looking for a more unique killer.

  • No. The strength of NOED is that you don't always know that it is in play. Anything that indicates that it is present before it activates is a massive hit to a perk.

If to implement a totem counter it should be always present, not only when NOED is in play.

You also can use Small game for that. Run across the map with. It is very likely to activate at least once if there are totems left.

  • Huntress and maybe Hag

  • Trapper. The only real chance that a DBD killer gets there own movie is if they'll make DBD movie and the mascot is the most likely to be featured in it.

But Huntress would be my pick.

  • There is a point in playing Clown over Freddy if you simply like him more as a character. From a competitive standpoint there isn't much point.

  • He is no longer that new, he isn't that strong and got a nerf recently. A nerf to a character always discourages people from playing them, no matter what that nerf is in particular. So a decrease in people playing him is to be expected.

  • Gain more experince - that's how you win. Watching someone else's gameplay in search for effective tricks/mindgames works too.

And there always are things that survivors hate but they are effective - camping, tunnleing, slugging, 3 gen strat, NOED and moris. But you'll probably get hated for that.

A lot of PC players actually do play with controller and it gives them no disadvantage at all. Arguably the only disadvantages are when you play killer as Huntress, Deathslinger, or nurse. Survivors have no disadvantages at all when using controller or very little it's not noticeable.

I know that many PC players use a controller, I have one myself even though I hardly use it today. It is the opposite of console users using mouse and keyboards that surprised me.

  • People actually play with keyboard and mouse on consoles? I'm genuinly curious.

  • I don't mind a perk like Pharmacy that would give you a guaranteed flashlight on the first opened chest but no "lightbeams from your arms" bs please.

  • I don't mind indoor maps at all, just make them a little less of a maze than the latest one.

Btw each rev is 30% not 25%.

You get a 5% penalty just for starting the rev.

If so that's even worse than what I calculated. And that was pretty bad already.

    @SailedSavage said:

JUST WAIT UNTIL PTB for f+&k sake. You don't know how it's going to turn out. Billy is still really strong. It this makes him too weak they will remove it.

When it looks like a massive nerf it's gonna be a massive nerf. Also it is pretty much guaranteed to go live. And no matter how bad it is it will go live with a few number tweaks at best. Surveys will do nothing as there always will be more survivors happy with a nerf happenning at all than killers unhappy with the details of that nerf. That's how it's always been.

  • I don't see marvel or dc characters fitting here at all but I'm curious who do you have in mind.

  • The point of sneaking and hiding is that after he sees your aura and comes to you, you can try hiding behind objects and continue moving out of his sight so he must waste time looking for you.

It's still likely that he will find you anyway but at that point he has already wasted at least some time and still has to chase you down.

Also a killer is likely to see more than 1 person with BBQ, he might not go after you at all. But if it is still a problem there are still counters:

    • Lockers
    • Distortion
    • Walking one way for 4 seconds and suddenly switching directions

Also if your problem is whether a killer has it or not, BBQ is meta, it's easy to assume that every killer uses it. Majority does unless they go for a specific build or don't have it.

But usually it's best to simply continue sitting on a gen without trying to somehow counter BBQ. Use Spine Chill if you want an early warning that a killer is indeed coming for you.

  • I think I actually didn't take everything into consideration. It seems that even 1 attempt at a charge attack will cost at least 25% of overheat and that's just revving to fill the meter fully without holding it. Overheat also cancels revving instantly if it goes 100%, so basically you'll be unable to use chainsaw and will be punished if you try at 75% overheat and above.

Considering that usually Billy initialtes a chase after sprinting to a further gen (at least I do that, if you don't then maybe it will affect you less) he'll be around 50% overheat or above. That gives you only 1 try at chainsawing someone.

So overheat might be even worse than I thought initially. And if you for example sprint at a gen and find noone there you'll have to choose whether to sprint to another gen and almost guaranteed to be at above 75% overheat becoming a basic M1 for some time or walk there, giving up some of your map pressure.

I really hope that I'm wrong and at least some numbers here are better than what I assumed. Because if I'm correct the changes are nowhere near being "minimal". It's a big nerf.

  • Honestly even a green mori is a huge game changer. And it's not as rare as a red one. In my opinion the only way to make moris balanced is to remove ivories and ebonies alltogether and make cyprus basekit so you'll be able to see the cool animation often but it will no longer affect the balance.

  • @KingFrost said:

I think the Devs want to try to bring the killers closer together, which in the long run should help the balance of the game. Yeah, it kind of sucks they're nerfing Billy. But he's a strong killer with lots of map mobility, an insta-down and little downside. Then look at Legion, who has limited Map Mobility, can't see scratch marks in Feral Frenzy, has a cooldown, and his power is cut in half any time he M1's someone which is ALSO the ONLY way he can actually down someone unless he's playing a literal potato who doesn't know how to mend or run. Imagine trying to balance the game for BOTH of these killers (and these killers alone -- not to mention every other killer in the game). Anything they do to make the game better for killers, becomes disproportionate for killers like Billy as opposed to killers like Legion.

I agree that Hillbilly and Legion are not on the same power level but to me Billy was fine and balanced while Legion was weak. So the better course of action would be buffing Legion. And no, you absolutely can do changes to Legion that won't affect Billy at all - buff his power or/and addons directly without touching any common mechanics.

  • To find the hatch and if she finds it first to try opening the gate.

What was the point of DCing there? If you were going to give up you could've run to the killer and let her kill you.

It's not that you were in the wrong there because you didn't screw anyone with that DC, it was more like what was the point of doing it? You lost all the bp in that game, 3 pips (I'm not sure if the penalty is 3 pips now) and potentally could be getting a DC penalty (also not sure if it works right now) just so you get out of the game 1 minute earlier.

  • @ad19970 said:

Pretty sure if the overheat turns out to be way too fast then the devs will make changes to that, so Billy doesn't actually become weak at loops.

Maybe. With the current numbers it seems likely that you'll have 1-2 attempts at a curve attack before you go overheat.

Also breaking pallets with a chainsaw seems to be not viable at all unless you'll be using the new ultra rare.

  • I like that there are such maps as they add variety. But I like them as killer more than survivor because looking for gens on some maps can be hard.

  • Objectively it's a tie, personally for me it is like this:

2k as a survivor with me escaping and pipping = win

2k as a survivor with me escaping but not piping or dying with pipping = tie

2k as a survivor with me dying and not pipping = loss

2k as a killer with me pipping = tie

2k as a killer with me not pipping = loss

  • The key to using Whispers is finding the spot where the perk just lights up. Then you know that there is a survivor exactly 32 meters away from you which often is enough to give you an idea where exactly that survivor is.

It is a useful perk in some situations but not mid chase. However BBQ is usually enough for finding survivors and with its added ponus points it is a better perk.

  • Meh.

New Ruin's too unreliable for me just like most hexes. An unreliable perk is a bad perk in my book.

  • If you managed to carry a survivor for half the map they most likely weren't wiggling the entire time. Wiggle time is fine.

I know it changed on PC, maybe consoles still have the old version?

I doubt it. Inconsistecies happen but usually not that big. Maybe it really is latency. I've also heard that consoles sometimes have unstable FPS, so could be that.

  • Her lunge was nefred with a patch but that was long ago. Like around 2 years ago.

  • Maybe her face was based on some real life person whose likeness they can't use now. That happenned to a few licensed characters already.

  • On survivor side last two newer perks that I considered interesting were Fixated and Any means necessary.

On killer side I want to try Pyramid's new perk that makes survivors scream then they are not within my terror radius. Looks interesting with Nurse's Calling. Perks like Surge or Thrilling Tremors are somewhat interesting as well.

I agree that most new perks are bad but so were many of the old ones. Hope, Deja Vu, This is not Happening, Monstrous Shrine, Predator, Unrelenting (except for that brief period of maschine gun combo time when it was useful)

Because the emblem system is a dumpster fire, and needs to be addressed to correct this exact criticism. Ranking goalposts need to 100% match up to the specified main objectives of the game.

I'm not a big fan of the system either but the thing is it was like that from the very beginning. There were bloodpoints instead of emblems but the game still rewarded players for a ton of things besides escaping/killing. So that's by design. Which already means that the game wasn't designed as competitive.

The game defines the win conditions in it's tutorial in plain English.

    Survivors have to escape

Killers have to kill the Survivors before they can

Then why can a player rank up by losing and derank by winning?

  • DBD has competitive aspects but it can't be defined as competitive for a few reasons:

    1) No defined win condition - that's the biggest thing that prevents DBD from being called competitive. Like what's the final goal of the game? To get a pip? To escape/kill? To get bloodpoints? Everyone can define that for themselves and that's great on casual level as DBD can attract different people. But that's not how competitive games work.

    2) Too many thing that completely turn the table balance wise. Keys and mori come to mind first.

    3) Too much RNG. Unpredictability can make a game fun but it definiely doesn't make it competitive as the luck factor is way too strong.

Of course a lot of that can be done by the community. The community can define a clear win and loss conditions and can ban some unbalanced stuff. They even can limit the selection of maps to try and leave out only those that are least affected by the RNG.

Then the game will become competitive but only within the circle that will treat it as such. But you can't expect every single player or even the majority of players to treat it that way.

So no, it's a casual game with competitive aspects.

"Toxicity-wise Russians are not any worse or better than others." .. Thats a hilarious lie. Surely you cant say every russian player is toxic, but surely 90% are the worst of the worst. Quite everytime a have a toxic killer, I can assume its a russian. Its a safe call. Thats why this game sucks so much for EU players.

I was telling my experience, yours might be different from mine. Also I don't meet killers whom I'd call toxic that often but our definitions of toxicity may differ as well.

"The worst of the worst" in my book are people who send death threats or messages like "get cancer" - and I've recieved then from Russians and non-Russians as well.
