What I find most outrageous right now, is that there is not a single bit of info on their official website around the current DDOS issues. That is some serious neglect right there. Your customers should be made aware of the dangers they face when they play the game right now. I had to hear this from 3rd party sources and streamers... ######### BHVR? I know you are incompetent at managing this game, but this... this is a whole new level of incompetent and criminal. A simple pop up ingame, like the update news, that would state a warning would suffice to keep your customers up-to-date. But I guess that is too much work.
I'm done with this game. Call me when these devs get a minimum amount of integrity. Untill then, anything with the BHVR name slapped ontop of it, will not receive money from me.
They still haven't said anything. It has been 2 days already.
-
I would just rather not play rn because of the doxing issue. I upset a lot of people on a regular basis and would rather not get swatted.
I have been enjoying left 4 dead 2 and team fortress 2 tho.

Still nothing :\

I dont know if its sarcasm but they are not a small or a indie compagnie anymore. They have the rescourse and income to fix this they just dont do it because they prefer to take our money over fixing the game because they have the monopole of the genre for now
It is sarcasm

Oh, they can fix it. They said in their anniversary video that dbd was made by some of the "finest developers" in the industry.
No offense, but DBD devs are not even close to the "finest developers".
"Wraith was a wee bit OP" - BHVR

I'm extremely disappointed that they haven't made an official statement about the swatting and DDOSing. The only valid excuse I can think of is that they don't want to publicize that it's currently possible and drive more asswipes to check it out, but at the same time it's denying everyone the knowledge to protect themselves (whether through VPN or just not playing the game until this is fixed.) And I worry that it's the second thing and not the first behind their silence - they don't want people to stop playing the game.
There is no excuse for doing it. If they say nothing, then it will happen to more people. If they did say it directly to their players, then it would happen a lot less. There is no excuse for their actions, or lack thereof.
-
If this doesn't show people that BHVR couldn't care less about their playerbase, then I don't know what will.
However it does further prove how incompetent they are as a company, their priorities are not the upkeeping of their only successful game, but rather profiting off of it as much as possible. This can be inferred from the past few chapters and lack of response on pressing issues.

Yea what needs to change is the ruin and tinkerer playstyle. It basically means that he's always going to push you off of gens the entire game and run away when another tinkerer pops. Really boring gameplay. I think an easy fix for it would be to only have tinkerer trigger once per gen. This hurts tinkerer obviously, but at the moment its only used for this playstyle and not really anything else.
Then you would just have one less perk to choose from at high mmr.

Why should a killer need a super power to compete? That's a reason why the game doesn't work. If you don't use super powers then you can't do ######### and even with super powers some killers can't do #########. That's exactly the problem. The game is so Unbalanced at core level that even super powers don't solve the issues with the most basic aspect of killers. It's why M1 killers died and it's why Nurse was created and it's why nobody has ever been or will ever be on par with Nurse. Nurse is the answer to the Unbalance but they can't just make every killer be like Nurse otherwise they'll have to give Survivors powers aswell, which then resets the whole thing to the begining, a Circle.
Had they made base killer able to compete then they could custom tailor powers without them being too opressive like Nurse or too weak like Ghostface. How can you have a killer that has to expose himself to hit survivors if exposing himself cancels his power!? How is that good design!?
Had they made the basic aspect of playing killer Balanced and Fair, you wouldn't have broken or useless powers, you wouldn't have broken or useless-add-ons. You had a basic working game with a solid foundation to add up on. But BHVR skipped the solid foundation part and just added things when they realised, if they've realised, that things aren't working.
Anyone that can be good with just M1 killers, knowing how terribly limited they are, is a much better player than someone who just plays Nurse Spirit or Blight and wins 7/10 games.
The advantages of playing a kilelr that can do something vs an M1 killer is too great and the advantage survivors have over M1 killers is even greater than that. This is definetly not okay. But now it's too late BHVR will never go back and we'll never get DbD 2 to be a thing let alone a better game. So just find a game that works at basic levels and then build it from there.
...Why should a killer need a power to compete? Because with m1 only killers the game would literally be everyone being chased by a killer that looks different. And it is literally part of the reason this unbalanced game works, without it there really isn't a game. But most of the weaker killers need to be reworked badly.
And an m1 killer isn't even terrible, at best a killer only using their m1 ability can still chase survivors. The real problem that makes their jobs difficult are dead hard and unbalanced tile placements. Oni is the perfect example. It doesn't matter how good you are as Oni, if survivors can play safe long enough for you to get your power at 2 gens left, then you are kind of toast. This is because he is an m1 killer outside of his power, and he needs hits to get it.
TL;DR If the game was balanced around m1 killers, it would get incredibly boring. A killer using their power is what the game was designed around for a reason. Most of the weaker killers need to be reworked to actually be strong.

@Maliken said:
Did you seriously just mention Iron Will and Resilience as some of the weaker perks for survivors?
Resilience is weak.
-
No, survivors don't need a buff just because of strong killers.
-
Yes she is actually strong. That is very scary. I'm a survivor main and I think she needs a nerf. No killer should be that strong without having some sort of some sort of downside. She needs a nerf asap.
I suggest giving survivors a hunting rifle that they can use to shoot her, this would make it easier for the survivors to escape.
(This is sarcasm)

The movement speed while uncloaking nerf prior to 5.3.0 combined with the uncloak speed boost nerf is horrible to play with. It makes his anti-loop 10 times worse with his already below-average anti-loop prior to this patch. It doesn't feel very natural either.
that is upsetting
-
@glitchboi said:
Agreed. I was wrong about the lunge nerf not doing much, holy it is horrible to play with. I play Wraith with a chase playstyle so it makes his anti-loop 10 times less enjoyable. It doesn't affect hit & run Wraith but it affects chase Wraith for sure.
Hope they reconsider the nerf.
Really? Is it that bad?
-
I know it is early, but it really isn't too hard to get a good gist of her strength.
When looking at her base kit, it looks like she has a great foundation for her power and is definitely threatening in chases. She very clearly has power.
Her power can be used quite effectively in just about every tile, which make her consistent. But it is also hard to play her, giving her a high skill cap, especially when considering that she is a ranged killer as well.
Her power is also very good at pressuring and tracking survivors through the use of her power.
Overall, she looks like a very strong killer and doesn't seem to need any changes atm. She is amazing if I am being honest. Like seriously, this looks like a very good killer. Fun to play, has a high skill cap, is strong, and as a bonus she is aesthetically cool (her look and also music).

"Our players are of the highest importance to us"
I don't think I even need to write up a snarky comment to that saying otherwise.
I still can't believe that I can be swatted by some guy getting upset over this game seriously wth.
-
I don't think they will any time soon honestly. It looks like they just do not care in the slightest which is to be expected.
-
Play it for long enough and you will find out. And people rage in just about every other game.
Yes it is silly, but we just get so wrapped up in a game sometimes. The people you should be worried about are the ones sending death threats to people when they are upset.
Dead by daylight makes you lose patience and is very unsatisfying at times. That's the gist of it.
-
Just like the cheating scandal, I'm sure they will ignore it.
-
I'll explain why in a post I'm working on, but I honestly think that all exhaustion perks are fine except for DH, and that the real issues are map and killer design.
-
Because without them there really isn't a game.

Blight should have always been a 110 percent speed killer. Blights ability is very strong and it is reasonable to expect a killer power of that strength to be balanced with a speed reduction. On top of that, he would still have map mobility, even with a speed reduction, similar to Nurse.
But he is already very balanced. He doesn't need a speed reduction or anything. He is just about perfect.
Killers need to be strong, and just because they are does not mean they need downsides. They are supposed to be oppressive without being op, and Blight is just that.

Midwich isn't bad at all.
It is literally the map of holding W.
-
I think it wouldn't do much. It would just make him a little more annoying to play him on tiles where he can't use his power. But he would definitely still be strong.
Also welcome back from isolation.

Yea but the downside is she cant see scratch marks anymore.
That doesn't matter, it practically does nothing when she can still track survivors through other means while moving at lightspeed.

Maybe she can teleport to a crow.
Better yet posses them. Maybe even turn into one and fly. Who knows at this point?

Most of the killer roster is, at their best, decently strong but can be very easily played around.

Easier to say whose strong....Nurse, Spirit, Blight......Rest of roster is ass against decent team.
Honorable mentions to Hag, Billy, and Oni they are good in the right hands.
Even Billy and oni did not do so well against good survivors.
Billy takes skill and can do well, but it is so easy for a good survivor to out play his chainsaw, and he has very few good addons now.
I looped oni there with Billy because a team of good survivors pre throwing pallets and playing very safe are what kills him. He gets his power after the match is half over and even then it can still be difficult. Oni is nothing without his power, and survivors can so easily make sure he doesn't have one.

when I play as her she feels slow, don't know why.
That is something I noticed as well, she is a little clunky rn

Because it is op. Spirit moves at like mach 7 with it, it makes it near impossible to do anything because she is so fast.

Do you want her to be nerfed even more? Wow
When the game is in a much healthier state, then yes. So probably never or in a few years. She may take the most skill out of everyone else and might be fun for a lot of people, but that doesn't change the fact that she is OP. She is also holding the game back too. You can't make a strong killer perk without reminding yourself of nurse; depending on what that perk can do it could push her into the "broken op" tier. But for now? She is fine and needs no changes. I wasn't saying that she needs to be nerfed any further, when in fact in the future she needs a total rework.

Untrue. If Decisive strike was designed to be purely anti tunnel then
1 It should have 2 uses, why should it be disabled if used, if the killer is hit with Decisive, they won't go oh no I tunnelled, they say great now I can freely tunnel this guy.
2 the perk should only be disabled if a gen is touched or if a player heals (ect) why do killers still have the option to down a player and wait out the timer, old DS, sure slugging was a means of countering, but slugging now is simply abusing an already weak perk..
3 Decisive should not have a skill check or at least should not be affected by perks/addons(ect) that effect skill checks. Why do I only have a chance of escaping. I know its easy to hit the skill check but I do miss it occasionally and when I do, not only I suffer but my whole team suffers because of it. Killers even have a means of countering Decisive, unnerving presence/ enduring, clowns gas. This perk is supposed to stop killers from playing an unfun playstyle and yet have plenty of ways of countering it.
Lets be real the rework to Decisive strike was rushed and now the perk only really works if the killer is standing in front of the hook and chooses to pick them up immediately. Even if they do depending on the killer Decisive strike is not a big deal, especially high mobility killers such as nurse and Blight.
Old Decisive may have been strong but at least it made killers fear tunnelling. Unlike now where killers have little fear of the perk. Please bring back Old Decisive (Not original Decisive ) to return the game back to when tunnelling was really punishing.
cringe
-
True, she is still hella strong.
-
I just hate how BHVR's reasoning for old undying was that "hexes are supposed to be strong, but can be gotten rid of" but then let survivors all STACK their boon perks in one totem AND let them redo it if the killer snuffs it.

Sorry I should have said more... because you said dull totems only give 1k points, I meant that repairing a gen is only 1200 pts by itself. And you can finish cleansing a totem faster than you can repair a gen by yourself. So those 1k points are worth it.
But is the time you are using up worth it? Like I said in solo it is better to slam on gens because you have to assume everyone else is probably doing bones or something else that is not gens.
-
Dead hard for sure.
DS is one free getaway, dead hard is several.
-
Not really, the buff from COH completely negates this.
-
I mean is that bad, didn't we already know this was a thing?
Apologies for my ignorance, but I think since I have only ever really played solo queue I am just so desensitized from dying lol.

Repairing a gen to 100% by yourself is 1250 pts... yeah, your time is not wasted
Bruh you are literally progressing the game when doing gens of course your time is not wasted doing the only objective. Looking and doing totems when the killer doesn't even have NOED is just a waste of time. Your only compensation is some bloodpoints.
