i think currently it hits that sweet spot where legitimate DCs are not punished while those who abuse it get what's coming to them.

Depends on your perspective. If you think DBD is a casual game and should be played solely to have fun, then the old Rank system was better, hands down.
If you think DBD should be a competitive game that makes playing outside of the established meta extremely difficult, then the new match making system is better.
The problem is this: I think if we could poll every DBD player across the globe, most would say DBD is a casual game.
BHVR could have easily solved this issue by having a competitive queue and a separate casual queue, but they hate splitting their player base for some reason even though wide, sweeping changes to an established game rarely ever please most people.
"hands down"? based on what?
the old system would put brown killers against red rank SWF because they waited too long
The old system would put returning veterans against new players because they didn't keep their rank regularly
The old system was massive stomp fest decided at the lobby screen
So no, Rank based matchmaking was not casual friendly, it created a massive barrier of entry. No matter what perspective you look at the old system was trash. You're right DBD is a casual game, i never claimed DBD is a completive game
no BHVR could not have 2 separate queus because the would not be able to handle it, due to queue time issue and noob stompers going into the casual mode, creating the problem that MMR tried to fix.
-
MMR might not be too good rn but lets not pretend the old system was any better. Most concern against MMR could easily be applied against the rank based system and sometimes it was worst.

the first page is filled with people thinking this post is yet another rant about noed unfair. And if you think thats agressive im sorry but its really not as much.
You posted an insult, thats objectively aggressive.
-
I don't believe hex should be able to be relit, I also believe stumped totems should break
-
Killer: dont kill anyone
Survivor: die
-
thats not your problem, your post comes off as slightly condescending.
"please do not post noed is fine comments. Post is not about that. Noed is balanced perk is a fact. Noed gives you kills you don't deserve is a fact too. Stop."
what is a kill you dont deserve? depending on your answer you are contradicting yourself. If the killer downs someone why wouldn't the killer deserve that kill?
-
probably not, also pretty funny DBD community is the only community I know that regularly has legit players help a blatant hacker.
-
its actually EAC's fault,
If BHVR can change anti cheat, i don't know what alternative they could get since battleeye is terrible now. Hackers found a way to stay 5 steps ahead of the anti cheats.
-
you mean these challenge that are optional and can be completed at anytime?
-
makes no sense but i dont hate the idea, maybe if it was an event thing
-
what Q&A?
-
Killswitch will be something that's bugged because thats why it was added as for nerf, i think they might nerf the healing of boon totem since it allows griefers to prolong the game indefinite amount of time against less experienced players
-
Either the totem goes down or we all go down
-
This community extremely toxic because there is little consequences for doing so. And some like to excuse it and even endorse it.
-
Deja vu, I've just been in this place before
-
never, this community has embraced and endorsed toxicity.
-
welcome to the DBD community, this behavior is excused, endorsed and praised.
-
sorry but your post should have been titled, "survivors shoudnt unhook infront of the killer", Killers who play chill will focus the unhooker but serious killer will shut down the mistake your teammates did by unhooking you too close to them.
Whether a killer tunnels or not is not an indication that they suck. what will is whether it was the right move or not. I get tunneled a lot from time to time and I can tell if it was strategic or bad judgment.
>I couldn't even loop him, didn't have a chance to get into a chase. He downed me as soon as I was done with the unhooked animation. All I did was stare at the screen and hit the struggle skill checks on hook, all game.Unfortunately that means he made the right choice.

Tbags and clicking the flashlight is your definition of toxic behaviour?
Pressing a button is not a toxic behaviour.
What makes something toxic, is not the action but the intent.
-
this is the only community that shame players for being meta slave instead of the blaming the game.
-
i don't see the injustice, your team played poorly and gave the killer a massive advantage.
-
most teamate i had where decent, but i do get potatos from time to time (just not as bad as before)
-
i hate this map
-
I can't relate to any, not saying haven't been in situation that have some similarities to any of them (in comparison its very petty) but the thing about these fictional characters is that they are put in extreme situation that push them into being "killers", heck in some sick twisted way half the roster are not "bad" people some have the injustice of their situation used against them or in like Huntress case do bad things without malice (kind off).
I just voted for ghost face because i make a similar noise when I'm irritated.
-
some anticheats have been slipping lately
-
its a nerf was not because she was op, they said its because the guessing was unfun.
-
1 month, because game was broken
-
Iron out MMR so Killers and survivors can be buffed/nerfed accordingly.
the ability for survivor to see each other's perk at pre game lobby (i'm guessing BHVR didnt impliment it because they want to avoid "no mither dodges" or "Meta or dodge" situation)
-
i dont think those who facecamp care
-
Deathslinger
-
because killed them
-
the community, DBD community might the worst community i have ever dealt with, i do not understand how this community thinks its not toxic.
-
post like these is why BHVR will never respect us
-
the best design philosophy is fun to play as and fun to play against but nowadays its very hard to do since this community (and tbf a lot of other gaming community) seem to only consider "winning" fun. So a fun killer to play as is a killer who can stomp survivors and a fun killer to go against is a killer who as to be 5 move ahead to even land a single hit. When you look at what balance idea some the players here give, you understand why BHVR tries to avoid listening to the community (not saying BHVR are saints or always make the right decisions). Right now the best design philosophy is a Killer that is fun to play as but not too strong and is fair and clear on how to deal with. I'm the minority but I think Pinehead was a step in the direction of what a lot of the community wanted, a killer that is good at pressuring.

As I do every 2-3 weeks when I get sent to Lerys, I am posting a request for an anti-epileptic option. I have gotten it twice today, Badham once, and my vision is starting to blur and I have a migraine. They made the flashing lights in Lerys, inside buildings, and coming from generators MUCH worse, and there needs to be an option to turn off the flashing/sparking.
i agree this needs to be a thing but clearly unless a twitter crowd start raising a stink, it will probably never happen.

You should explain why that's the case.
Becuase you can purposefully play badly to go against worse players weather you can see your numbers or not.
And if you know how they calculate the scores and people find loopholes than that's good befuase the drvs could then close the loopholes and make the system better overall
because without an exact calculation you will never know when you reduced your MMR to the point you will be matched with new players
>And if you know how they calculate the scores and people find loopholes than that's good because the devs could then close the loopholes and make the system better overall
quite the opposite actually it creates more problems, If people find loopholes the devs can't fix it they need to rework the whole system.

You can do it with or without seeing your own score... Also only a minority would do that so the argument is... Well, not an argument.
How is that not an argument? This is a blatant problem in Rainbow 6 siege . Meanwhile games that hide it don't have this problem.
Saying it's only a minority is what's not an argument because it's ignoring the problem
Not mention the pip system is not affected by the mmr

After recently losing all my progress on my killers and survivors, BHVR support was kind enough to credit my account with a lump sum of bloodpoints to get back to where I was. I want to play a few matches between trying to spend all of it, even if I can't earn BP. I just want to make sure that doing so won't reset me to the 1 million BP limit or something weird like that.
I would just be patient and empty it all first, but that's just gonna be so time consuming, especially on console. If anyone has any info on this topic I'd really appreciate hearing from you.
you only lost level progress or everything?

Yeah I know, so what would be the problem with transparency ?
abusing the system to get less experienced players.

How's that ? When you win a game in any competitive game, you see the +-18 Elo Score, you see the Elo score of the others, and their league, I don't know in which way it "defeats" the purpose of the system.
It wouldn't change anything, but knowing where you are, and where are the others in the ladder.
ELO score and MMR is not the same thing
your MMR in those games will affect how much elo you gain or lose
-
making SBMM transparent defeats the whole purpose of the system
-
no because of VPNs

Sucked so much hence it was Nerfed :^)
stomped less experienced players while more experienced players where less affected by it -

Survivor asking for Nerf instead of learning is not surprising by now. Old ruin's timing was so 'hard' it got changed to what it is and people are still complaining lmao.
Do totems my dudes.
actually old ruin sucked and only stomped less experienced players while more experience players where barely affected by it
but complaints about new ruin feels way more petty since devs keep throwing out anti totem perks and people still insist on not running them.
-
Kindred
Teammate gets camped? rush gens
you're getting camped? hope survivor are smart enough to use the aura reading to coordinate a gen rush instead of insisting on trying to get you off the hook.
the funny thing i heard is camping killer get higher MMR meaning they get placed against players who know how to deal with camping.

No offence but this is one of the worst ideas I've ever seen on these forums.
this pretty tame compared to a lot of stuff that gets unironically said here.
-
they probably did this to make players use that addon that works when Huntress has no Hatchets
-
guess she got blight disease
-
yes, i shouldn't be getting wins or losses decided at lobbies.
