Honestly I think most DBD players take a break every now and then. Playing solo queue or killer can be extremely un-fun. Sometimes you get literal streaks of bad games on both sides.
Just take your time and let your frustration level decrease "considerably" until you find that you're "moderately" feeling like giving DBD a "second chance".
-
It depends on the map. In door map + Doctor is usually a disgusting match. Everyone screams all the time, everything lags and stutters, the skill checks freeze every now and then WHILE shacking in the corner of the screen. I can see how that can feel cheesy as survivor.
Doctor on normal maps however is alright. In terms of power level he's fair although immersed players may always find him annoying to play against as he literally finds you with the press of a button.
-
Been thinking a lot about all this for the past days yet I still don't know what to say. I didn't get to know Cheers but it seems like he was a really wholesome person. It's just not fair. I'm sorry for your loss @GoodBoyKaru
-
I think the vault speed build's actual power is the placebo effect. People think "omg that was so close it must have been the vault speed build that saved me!" when in reality the killer just had perfect ping+perfect internet.
-
Ussylis, Ayrun, The JRM are pretty good as survivor. Ayrun and JRM like to fool around using meme builds, though.
-
Already found the ultimate buff haha
https://youtu.be/e2KXUyQocGwEven with that weird bug everyone escaped fairly easily.
-
Only thing that disappoints me is the devs forgot about Vigil. It was one of the perks they meant to update since it was added to the game when survivors recovered from exhaustion whilst running so I was interested in an updated version of the perk.
EDIT: @Almo are there any plans for Vigil?
-
You can disable it in the main menu before choosing to play as survivor/killer.
-
So how did Clown get nerfed? Pop may be one of his perks but that has still nothing to do with the killer itself sooooo yeah...
That's like saying Bubba got nerfed since the devs added the basic attack requirement to Knockout.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
PGTW never needed to be buffed from its original 30 seconds to begin with.
Since Pop is quite literally your perk I agree. Not sure why everyone's going crazy. Who needs more than 45 seconds to kick a gen?
-
You counter him like any other M1 basic attack killer. You do gens whenever you can and you loop.
Myers can do absolutely nothing to stop you from looping.
If it's a typical slugging tier 3 Myers try not to get slugged near another downed survivor. This allows the remaining survivors to pick you up more easily as Myers can't be at two places at all times.
-
If the devs decrease his M2 cooldown "considerably" then it will be a buff for any good Pyramid Head player who actually knows how to aim and predict survivor movements as it will shorten the chase duration in the long run.
Zoning takes no skill and is boring as hell so personally I can't wait for the changes.
-
Are you sure you want to keep playing DBD? Seems like you are WAY TOO sensitive/emotional for this game if tbagging triggers you so hard you will even refuse to unhook teammates because you ASSUME the killer is going for only 1 person "for a reason".
Just look at what you posted:
Quote:
"Now how does this translate to me when I play survivor? Be warned fellow survivors, I might just leave you on the hook to die if I see a killer going for you alone as now I understand fully why they might be."
-
I see no reason to turn off crossplay.
PC players are 0% more challenging to kill or escape against than console players based on my personal observation.
I still 4k more often than not and my solo survivor matches are a mixed bag as they have always been.
Yesterday I played a survivor game and got Tru3talent as a teammate against a Rank-2 PC Huntress (I watched the match from Tru3's pov afterwards so I saw the killer using the post game chat so don't give me that "could be from another console" excuse).
At one point Huntress tried to slug everyone.
I was the only player that didn't get downed at all throughout the match and got more points than everyone else including the killer so yeah... Crossplay makes absolutely no difference in my book.
Some PC players (luckily not all of them) just have this wishful thinking that they can do something (better than) console players can't but it is what it is - just wishful thinking.
-
Lightweight is a complete waste of a perk slot in my opinion.
I got matched with a green rank killer a while ago who wouldn't stop chasing me for a over 3 minutes on Ormond (we all know what scratch marks look like on Ormond) and despite breaking line of sight and running Lightweight with Lithe AND running through the main building and out in the open (while breaking line of sight multiple times) said green rank killer still managed to track me.
Haven't used it again after that match.
-
Shelter Woods both sides.
Most boring map in the game in my opinion.
-
It really isn't a Pig thing. People that camp are more often than not very bad as killer so they will camp regardless of the killer they're playing.
Hell, most Bubbas I come across are camping even though he is stupid strong since his rework which is why I actually don't enjoy playing him anymore even though I have mained Bubba since his release .
Bad killers however somehow manage to still struggle with him so they rely on camping solo survivors who don't even bring any items.
And those killers make it to red ranks as well.
So yeah, it isn't a Pig thing but more of a "many killers are bad at the game thing".
-
I can tell killers don't mind getting DS'd as all the bugged killers are tunneling off the hook right now and picking up immediately. This is a clear indicator that DS needs to be fixed as soon as possible as killers literally don't take the 2 second stun seriously.
By the way the survivor is stuck in the drop animation for 1 second which means the bug allows survivors to gain 4 meters of distance. Most killers move at 115% which is 4.6 meters per second. Go figure.

Yamaoka, you can't win with this guy, he makes everything personal, and clings onto his points, arguing is futile. Trust me, I had an argument with him earlier.
Haha yeah I can tell. Thanks for the warning, though. Will definitely ignore that guy next time.

As I said - you have no clue how networking works. Nobody said streamers had perfect internet. I merely told you how internet works. Instead of dying on that hill, admit when you're wrong. Telling you you're wrong and why isn't passive aggressive. It's called education, bud.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632796#Comment_1632796
It allows them to be picked up? But...

https://media.tenor.com/images/e6133c827fa9510bf6ff67a06675b80a/tenor.gif
It can't just make them impossible to pick up for the killer, unless the survivors are on the same local network (even then, the lagswitch would have to be network based instead of locally initiated). Everyone is connected to a centralized dedicated servers. What would affect a killers ability to pick them up would also affect a survivors ability to heal them. Otherwise it's just them on the ground dying, cause the bleed out timer doesn't stop.
Carefully debate with yourself whether or not you'd like to continue. You make this way too easy.
Would you get more passive aggressive if I told you I'm not even reading your comments and just saying you're right anyways?
I'm sure you must live a happy life judging by how often you show your passive aggressive nature in a gaming forum.

Again - there's a difference between upstream and downstream. Each stream (up and down) is separate in how much bandwidth it provides. It's the reason FULL duplex connections exist. You can max your upstream, and still have your full downstream. They do not bleed into eachother UNLESS your network adapter is saturated, which is nearly impossible unless you're literally streaming at like 1Gbps (0.8% if that is what Twitch supports at maximum), which literally nobody is doing, and no streaming platform supports.
The average upload speed in the USA is approx. 33Mbps (or 3.3% of what a network adapter on any PC from the last 10 years or more supports). This is all ASSUMING that streaming affects gaming. Which it doesn't, from a network standpoint.
But okay - go ahead in thinking you know everything. You're only showing that you know very little. You're embarrassing yourself.
As I said: Streamers got perfect internet - gotcha! Anything else you wanna say in a passive aggressive and truly embarrassing way?

Your realize that streamers are only streaming at a maximum of 8Mpbs a second (and that's for a partnered streamer), and aren't even close to saturating their connection (aka - bandwidth - learn it), right? You also realize that downstream (aka - not what you use while streaming) is what matters most in games, right? If streaming affected games that much (which is doesn't, literally at all from a network standpoint) - there'd be no competitive shooter players streaming.
Don't talk about networking if you have no clue how it works. Please do your research before you make another ill informed comment. Otherwise I'll just be convinced you're trolling. I'm actually really glad you decided to die on the "I know everything" hill. It's mildly amusing.
So all streamers got perfect internet even though every streamer mentions internet issues on a fairly regular basis - gotcha!

For you. Since it worked fine for you, it must have been perfect.
Makes sense. I guess only your experience matters.

These were the day server side validation was enabled.
Get off the "if it's fine for me, it's fine for everyone, and I know everything" kick. It's not working out for you, cause none of those things are true.
Yep, it only affected Huntress. OnLy AfFeCtEd HuNTrEsS!! wOrKeD PErfEcTlY fInE fOr Me!11!!!!
You realize a streamer's connection is more likely to suffer from server-sided hits than a normal player's connection due to the fact they are... You know... Streaming?

It's not hits "they never deserved". 99% of those hits, on the killers screen, looked perfectly fine. It's desync, not whether or not they deserve the hit. Survivors aren't the only ones who suffer from desync. Case and point - grabbing someone off a gen/during an unhook attempt. It will literally start to play the grab animation, and not register. It's desync, and nothing more - and it can never, and will never be 100% fixed. It's just the nature of dedicated servers.
Also - they recently had a server side hit validation test. It literally made things worse, for both killer and survivors.
The server-sided beta worked perfectly for me. It made no difference as killer and as survivor I finally didn't receive any latency hits anymore. I think the vast majority of people that complained forgot how server-sided hits work. They punish the player with the bad connection.
Many people don't even know they got bad internet so they blamed questionable hits or misses on the server-sided hits.
The only actual bug was Huntress hatchets that weren't able to connect from point-blank distance as far as I know.
Anyways the devs merely disabled it because it was a BETA not because it didn't work well for the most part. I can't wait for the devs to re-enable server hits.

Firstly - hackers *are not common* on PC. They exist, but in over 4k hours in DBD, I've seen maybe...5?
Secondly, lag switching isn't PC exclusive. Plus, the game is on dedicated servers. A lag switch only serves to hinder the person doing it.
Hits are still killer-sided/registered despite dedicated servers so a laggy killer will in fact get hits they never deserved.
The devs are going to switch to server-sided hits for a reason.
-
Nerf: His boring zoning ability by adding a cooldown when canceling the power.
Buff: His ranged attack by decreasing the cooldown for successful hits and make it apply tormented (outside a small range of hooks otherwise it will just become a camping tool).
Result: He's now a true M2 killer instead of a boring M1 killer that uses his M2 to get M1 hits and he can use his cages throughout the entire match rather than just at late-game, end-game and to "cage-slug" the 3rd survivor while looking for hatch/4th survivor.

Been playing on pc for 400+ hours and I have never seen a cheater, crossplay gets enabled and now everyone that plays on pc is a cheater.
Not every hacker/cheater is obviously hacking/cheating. I just faced a Doctor who was possibly speedhacking but he tried to hide it by not using something crazy like 1000% movement speed. He ran at around 125% (no PWYF) which allowed him to hit me everytime I tried to loop anything just ONE SINGLE TIME (even cow loop).
I'm fairly sure there are MANY speedhackers on both sides that use something subtle like +5% movement speed.

Wired. My router is right next to my XB1 so it'd be scummy not to play wired.

Can we stop creating childish "the devs prefer survivors/killers!"-threads?

Literally every day
The better question is how often do you lose a match because of this? If you snowball so hard that everyone's ds is active all the time that bit of anti momentum makes literally 0% difference and you will still 4k while eating a sandwich.

Here is the simple fix we need “Leave Game” option is removed there should never be an option to leave in a game that requires so much teamwork and can’t be filled in by another player. If not that then we need the salt mines.
Removing the option will not change anything. People can just close the game, give up on the hook or go afk.
You can never force people to play a game they don't enjoy so instead of punishing the symptoms (DCs) the devs should fix the cause (which is easier said than done).

Or Tinkerer tier 2

Are you really asking if it's "tryhard" to give everything you got with 2 disconnects in a 4 v 1 game? I think you know the answer.
That being said being a tryhard doesn't make you a bad person. It's a game so do whatever you think is fun.
-
Blendettes, Bills and default skin players.
-
How would you feel if the devs merely buffed his bottles by making it so survivors affected by the gas suffered from the slowdown AND heard some sort of distorted circus music while seeing all kinds of colors making it more difficult to evaluate where exactly the Clown is during the chase?
-
Personally I hope the devs will tweak Pyramid Head to make Punishment Of The Damned more viable to use while decreasing the boring zoning potential. Skillful/precise M2 plays should be more viable than just denying windows/pallets for easy M1 hits.
-
Thank you @Fibijean - I appreciate your posts and dedication.
-
Maps are designed to "artificially" allow killers to catch survivors at specific spots (i.e. gens that are in complete deadzones, drop downs that force you to stagger for free hits, T-L walls that aren't anywhere near another tile etc.). These "map design hits" can be ignored using exhaustion perks.
Free deadzone hits: Sprint Burst
Free stagger hits: Balanced Landing
Free "trash tile" hits: Lithe or Dead Hard
If you're experienced you will typically recognize bad map spots and avoid dangerous locations.
As a result you feel like you don't need any exhaustion perks when in reality you're often wasting a lot of time avoiding "dangerous zones" that wouldn't be dangerous if you ran one of the exhaustion perks to make up for map design.
Long story short: While exhaustion perks aren't exactly necessary (if you're an experienced and decent player) they can make up for map design related hits thus making survivor gameplay more enjoyable.
-
This may be off topic and a possibly awkward question but: Dudedelicious - is that you?
-
The game is killer sided based on the average result. Personally I expect nothing less than a 4k. A 2k feels like a complete loss at this point because I'm so used to getting EVERYONE.
At the highest level of play however the game is survivor sided because technically it is always possible to run the killer long enough for the team to pump out a few 80 second gens.
Yesterday I got tunneled into oblivion by a Huntress and after 2 min 40sec the 5th gen popped. That's only 3 survivors doing gens since I didn't get to even touch a gen at all.
That's how quick gens can fly if people didn't mess around all the time. If all survivors were THAT fast with the gens the whole game design would look A LOT different on both sides.
-
Honestly if all streamers posted their losses they'd be way more interesting to watch.
-
@xEa said:

Its obvious that you can do 4 gens in under 2 minutes but that is not what i mean. 6 minutes for 3 gens is the opposite of genrush, yet it felt like that for the killer.
Oops I missed the point then. I thought you were trying to say gens are popping faster and faster every year or something. My bad.
-
Without slowdown perks gen speed was pretty much the same in 2018 as it is now. I still got an old clip of mine from early-2018 as Huntress where 4 gens popped in around 3 minutes if I remember correctly. That's exactly how fast 4 gens pop right now if survivors don't mess around.
-
My queue times are by far longer than before crossplay for some reason so it's kinda bad for me.
As for the skill yada yada there is 0% difference. PC gamers are not even 0.01% more difficult to kill or loop and juke than console gamers. The only thing PC players are better at is spamming the forums with their superiority comments.

The plague game was one of the funniest games i've ever seen in a tournament
First that super weird killer decision (Why would you EVER play plague in a tournament????)
Then the build (Noed and Spirit Fury, why?)
She managed to fall into hole on grim pantry
And got one kill with noed at the exit gates.
That was pure comedy gold 😂
On top of that she wouldn't have gotten that 1 kill if the survivor had run into the gate without the turning radius of a truck. And even then the Kate could have denied the pick up promt by healing the Nea.
And Spirit Fury without Enduring was kinda funny as well. I was like "yeah that survivor's gonna make it to the window easily now... What kinda build is that supposed to be?!"
Overall 99% of tournament players played kinda... Green rank-ish to be honest. Only Otz and Ayrun played well. I gotta agree there witz @xenofon13
